Dr Mike McClenahan aka Bow Tie Vet Guy is a veterinarian, stand up comedian, author, musician, podcaster and lecturer. He is a 1997 graduate of Iowa State CVM, and has spent time in private practice, as a senior veterinary services consultant for Bayer Animal Health, and as a relief veterinarian. He is currently in general practice in LA and he loves it! Mike has combined his experiences in veterinary medicine, comedy and health care communications to create RACE approved lectures for veterinarians on, “The Use of Virtuous Humor in the Veterinary Clinical Setting.” Yes you can (and should) use humour at work, and yes you have to keep it profesh! You can find Mike and his colleage and friend on his podcast Vets Unleashed where he discusses the issues of the day in veterinary medicine over cocktails, which is a great way to discuss issues of the day. Mike’s love of comedy and veterinary medicine are infectious, and he has some great insights about how to stay happy!
