Speaker 1 (00:12):
Welcome into the game.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Playing with head coach Dan Quinn, Logan Pulsnami, Brian Copy Jr.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Coach.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
It was a tough loss this last Sunday. Let's me
and mississatt of guys to turn the page as we
had to New York.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Now, tough loss, and I'm hopeful for all of them
that this will be their low point in their career.
That's the hardest one. That's the lowest one, and it
has to be Brian, uh And you've got to be
able to take what's there and carry on what you
need and not bring some of that with us.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
So it was tough loss, team loss all the way.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Through and so heading into it back to our division
what we need to get done. But the process of
winning needs to happen, and we need to get ourselves
from this left hand column by any means necessary.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
That's the message.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
How is the leadership on the team handled this adversity?
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Obviously like like dumbfounded, you know, just frustrated all those things.
I think there was two you know, big gut punches
and two overtime losses, you know, back to back that
definitely you know left its mark, and but that's our
that's our job. You got to get up off the mat,
you got to fight, and so I am certain that
(01:19):
we will do that.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
And Coach Logan mentions leadership, and that makes me think
about Zach Earth and losing such a powerful lee like that.
It was such a gut wrenching interty that we saw
on that field. How do you replace not only the
productivity on the field, which he had as well, but
also that leadership.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
I didn't get the chance to know Zach much prior
to coming here, but man, what an impact he made.
So he was the first player as a free agent
that Adam had signed, you know, to be a member
of the team, and so he left a standard as
a ballplayer. Yeah, that's that's easy to see. But there's
also a high standard as a teammate. And what leading
looks like, What resilience looks like, what like like grit,
(02:00):
like doing the hard things over and over and over,
not getting bored of those Like look out there on
a Thursday afternoon at drugs and he's catching the ball
for a guy who's you know, fifth all time, Like
he does not get tired of doing like the basic
things really really well.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
And we're gonna miss.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Him a lot, I bet, but you know, obviously anytime
there's an injury, it provides the opportunity for some young
football players. You guys got too kind of young tight ends.
Benson at Colson, Yankov. What have you seen from them
and how has zach leadership help foster their growth?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah? It really has.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I mean, how can you not almost if you're in
the room and you're paying attention, like, okay, there's something
going on here with this guy in the way that
he works. So he helped with that. But you're right
that there's a torch show to speak. Sometimes it gets
passed and that's that time for Ben and he's excited
for it. He's put in good work. It kind of
started from this year, I felt like on the special
team side and then you know, beginning to make his mark.
(02:51):
So you have to wait sometimes for your opportunity for
all sorts of different reasons. But this is his time
and you know, like I know he's ready for that
moment and.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yankoff is too.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Both these guys are like high level prepared and put
the work in. They've developed and they got to now
and go for it, and I'm certain that they will.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
And coach has been great to see a guy like
Noah Brown come back, especially after such a long road
with this injury. Can you talk about his resilience and
what you see from him on his road to recovery
to get back on the field.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, Noah is he's one of our best competitors as
just a teammate ballplayer.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
What he stands for when you have the up and down.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
There's some dark moments, you know, on your rehab on
the way back, But one thing that you can count
on from Noah like man like he's going to put
his head down at work, Like that's just who he
is and how he gets down. So for have him
back into the fold just being out in the practice,
feel like, okay, this this thing's come in the continuity
with him and Terry and Debo and others ray Von,
(03:49):
you know, like it's good to have that back. And
I felt the first pull of that last week at
practice and that's going to carry forward here for the
next four weeks.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
And like you know, we haven't a lot of them
this year. What do you think is his biggest ad?
It's like physical skill set, Like what does he bring
in to the position.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, he's got aggressive hands, movement. So the contested catches
for him are really strong. He's an absolute dog inside
in the slot, in a block he can make him
contested catches.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
And then as a route runner like he's got real
skill at that.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
So you put all that together, you really find yourself
a complete player. So, yeah, he's got lots to prove.
He's healthy and we're excited for, you know, for what
he can do over these next four weeks.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
And coach, we saw the Giants week one, a lot
of change, but one of those things has been their
defensive coordinator. Change the defensive coordinator, how are you preparing
for this style of defense? Now that's very different than
week one.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, a lot of different moving parts on both teams,
you know week one. So offensively you know, different with
Mike still calling the plays, but you know, Brian not there.
And defensively, like you said, some new changes. But one
thing you can count from their speed is the front.
You know, they've got some guys that can absolutely fly
and that will be you know, the first you know
(05:00):
point for us to make sure this is the part
of the game plan.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
We need to go nail and go do that.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
And so division games are awesome Brian. You know, it's like, man,
there's so much fun. You know each other, You get
to play each other twice a year. This matchup these people.
What's a little different from the last game.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
How do you do that?
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Show something, keep something in your back pocket ready for
the next game. And there are a lot of fun
when you play the Division games, going through everybody twice.
Even last year, I get to play one of them
three times, and so there's just something a little extra,
and there any records out, It's just time to go battle.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
You talked about the front specifically and again very dynamic.
You know a guy that I think back to week
one and watching that game was Connorly and thinking about
how much he has grown, you know, and just thinking
about it's going to be. I can't wait to watch him,
you know, to see his growth. What have you seen
from him? And how's he gonna be prepared for this?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Matter sometimes and you can probably relate to this your
first year. You don't even know how much you're growing. Gosh,
I said, like a year ago, at this time, you're
saying I can block that guy from Ohio State, and
you know, you weren't thinking about like I'm gonna block
the best past rushes in the NFL here, and so
there's a cool thing that goes with that because you're
tested further than you've ever been tested. You know, your
(06:06):
rookie year, like, here's your limits, and you're way way
over them, way past them. But all of a sudden,
you upskill and you get better and you learn and
you grow. And so that's what you see from him.
I thought the game two weeks ago at Denver was
maybe his best of the season, and so another good challenge.
But also where was I week one?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
To where am I today? I think that's what you're
always looking for.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
As a ballplayer, to say am I a better player
I would in Week one? And I, you know my
better player today? Excuse me than week one? Connelly like
he'll be hungry to prove that.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
And you've got to imagine that growth has to do
with Laramie Tuncil as well. Where I mean he's been
on Laramie tuncls hit Wherever I see Larmy Tunsel, I
see Josh Connelly. J How great is it to have
that type of leadership.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah, it's the best and it's not something that you
have to ask Laramie to do. It's not something that
you know, like, that's not what leading is, you know,
where you ask someone to lead someone else.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
That's just the opposite of it.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
So no, that he's made a big impact on him
and early on it's like, well that's laramt Tunstall and
Cam here, we're going to go do this together, like
I'm going to help you and develop you. And that's
what's cool also about you know, big parts of the NFL,
there's a brotherhood to pass that on to the next
and by Connraly having that experience ten years from.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Now, he'll be able to huro that down to someone
else in that same space.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
And the best of the best, you know, have people
like that in your corner and coach.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
We talked about the changes on the defensive end for
the Giants, but there's also some changes on the offensive
end as well. Last time we saw Russell Wilson, Now
we're seeing a guy in Jackson, dark, heck of an athlete.
How have you prepared for Jackson Nord. How does that
kind of change the game plan as opposed to what
we were doing week want.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Yeah, there's so many things that can be different and
how they feature players and you know how you would
call the game differently with different players in so you
see that, and so you want to look at here,
there's the whole body of work, all the games with him,
how they use them that's different from Russell or different.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
From Jamis and how they did it.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
And so a dynamic athlete, an excellent arm, throwing on
the run, creating that way, and so been really good
on third down with him in the game. And that's
him also using his legs to be able to extend plays.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
And that'll be a big part of this game.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Both quarterbacks can extend plays, you know, out of the pocket,
in the pocket and uh both a big arm.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
So like, yeah, it's a big challenge.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
I wish that third down stuff is him just being
excuse me, just more aggressive, you know, Like it just
it seems like he's got a little bit of definite
make care to him, like in terms of putting the
ball out there, Like is that is that helping him
or is that hindering his growth?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
You know, I think it's helping.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
And like sometimes they've had an injury at receiver, so
Wan Dall has had a big year and so I
respect that when somebody, hey, I'm going to pick up,
you know the extra you know, opportunity that's here. And
so for him for Dart, how do they feature the offense?
The backs can catch, They've got a fast team, you know,
especially on the perimeter, and uh, they know how to
(08:51):
get the ball to those guys quickly in space and
make some plays.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
The coach, Bobby Wagner, ends up being phnominee for the
Walter Pagan Man of the Year Award. We talk so
much about what he's able to accomplish on the field
his entire career. You've been there for a lot of it.
Talk about the leadership and the man of Bobby wag
and why he was Youll nominated.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
I could not think, honestly of a better candidate. I
just can't like his consistency. Brian as a ballplayer is
always there. It's also there as a man and a teammate,
and so all the unseen work that he does behind
the scenes, it's remarkable.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
And the things that he does to help others that.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
He wants zero credit for and you know, so for
him to be our nominee, I couldn't be more proud
of him. Like I got to see the early part,
I was proud of the ballplayer, and I knew he'd
be a good tackler then I'm certain of it. And
then but to see him, you know, obviously he's going
to be a Hall of fame football player, you know
(09:51):
when he decides to stop playing. But he's also he's
a hall of fame man. And that's that's that's hard
when both of your world journal football world, you're off
the field world, like one day it'll be the commission
of the NFL. He's gonna be something big, I'll tell
you that, because like he can lead, he's got insight, thoughtful,
(10:12):
and he's a rare guy man.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Shout out to our guy Bobby Wagner, a great player
and an even better man. Coach, We appreciate your time,
but now it's time for you and Logan to get
usus in film studies.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Right on, say.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Okay, command this family before we hear more from our
head coach Dan Quinn. If you are listening on audio platforms,
make sure you go to Commands YouTube page right now
so you can check out the film room between Logan
Paulson and head.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Coach Dan Quinn.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Now for more from head coach Dan Quinn. Coach and closing,
we talked about how exciting he's NC east Manchisa, what
has been your message to these guys as we hit
on to today's game against the New York Giants.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, that's right here man, that we need commander energy
and play style. That's the bottom line, third records out
through everything out. Let's make sure you know when you
go on the road, you better pack your defense, pack
your special teams, and play physical. And that's what I
want to see from our team to make sure, like
at the end of the day, the speed, the intensity
of hitting.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
We know we can win with that.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
And that's what I hope all of our fancy just
jumping off the screen at him as you're watching the game, I'm.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Sure it makes it easier because it is a division game, right,
and so getting up for it's a little bit easier,
Like how do you kind of direct that energy, that
passion mixture of the guys are locked in for the moment.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah, I think coming off of hopefully a career worse performance, Man,
you come off the mat and you swing first. Yeah,
and that's what games about. Division games, and so let's
make sure the identity is right. Look, but take care
of those things and do a great job with the
ball and find our way into the plus. Those are
the things that matter. But the process of winning all
(11:45):
along the week. If you do that right, you give
yourself a.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Great shot swing first come mand this family. We love
that coach.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
We always appreciate your time. Come in this family. This
has been the game plan we had Coach dan Quinn.
Logan Paulson, I'm your host, Brian Covid JUNR. Excited to
see y'all how in New York we take on the Jibt.
The game Plan with Dan Quinn, presented by Salisburg University,
was filmed at the Big Bear AI Command Center studio
