Speaker 1 (00:14):
Welcome into the game. Playing with head coach at Dan
Quinn Mogan Fulston. I'm your host Blan Corpen Junior, and
we're here in the Big Bear AI.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Command Center studio. Coach.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
One more game left on the season and it's against
the Philadelphia Eagles. We just faced a couple of games ago.
Does that change the game plan a little bit?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Having so much for you, It definitely does.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Not. Every division game is played alike, different flavor, different way.
They'll have some new wrinkles we will as well. But man,
I do love the NFL's format for this year for
our division of you know, lining this up at the
end and it's not gonna be what we want to
play for, but man, it's impactful, you know, to have

(00:53):
division games on the road, and so they were ready
to go fight.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Obviously a huge emotional game going to Philly. Obviously there's
a lot of emotion up in last week. How do
you keep the guys locked in on task in this
last game of the season.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, I think that's one of the best parts about
the group here. Logan like this connected type group and
I hope you know, looking back when you watch the film,
said man, I was part of a tight group and
you know this firsthand.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
There's no brotherhood like.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
A football team and how hard you want to play,
the things you want to get accomplished together, and so
we're looking forward to doing that.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Like we like the fight, how hard we're playing.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
We want to make sure the fundamentals, the execution, they're
matching those and that's important for us.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
That feeling of a winning locker room.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Man, it's awesome, and so we want to work really
hard for these guys that had that opportunity to do.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
That and coach Christmas, they didn't go out away. However,
to Corey Krosky, merrit made his name known around the world.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You know, we were on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Everybody was watching not one, but two rushing touchdowns. Yes
or seventh rounds draft pick. What has it been like
watching his development throughout the year?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You know, I think one, we have a lot of
belief in him. It was from the time we selected him,
and it just kept growing stronger the more he's proven
these improved past protection in his game. Okay, it's second
and one, can I get the first down?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
This isn't the time to bounce out and go. So
like the improvement, the growth.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Brian I think that's what jumps out to me with him.
He'd always made place there, it is there, it is.
But to see like his consistency grow stronger and stronger,
like as a coach man, that lights you up.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
And obviously there's probably a great support system for him here.
But how much ownership did he take and is kind
of helping himself make some of those improvements.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
The most, No, and the fact that he.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Was thankful that some of these things happened, so he
can know this, I need to work this.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I need to work this.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Like, what a remarkable attitude to have. I'm glad that
exposed that problem. I'm working on that. And so for
a rookie to have that kind of mindset to say, no,
I am going to show that consistency, improve it. And
I really do love that about Bill, like he is
all about proving it over and over. He's hungry as
a competitor and you feel it, you feel it practice

(03:00):
the games and so man like, I love that.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
There's somebody that we've seen be hungry every single game,
no matter whose quarterback is is Deebo Samuel. We're looking
at his numbers over seven hundred yards with three different quarterbacks,
Like he's having a season, but you never know what
you're getting.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
From a guy when you trade for him. Did you
get what you expected from Deevo Samuel the season?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
The competitor is what I thought, and then some. And
he's had a lot of fun plays. But I remember
on the sideline I had budget him after that first screen,
I was like, man, you've had a lot of fun plays.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Put that right there. That was my favorite as the
player that he.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Hit was an absolute dog co editor, not like, oh
that could happen.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
I do.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
And he's one of my favorite players, like in terms
of toughness and attitude. So to see these two guys
go battle for it. The catch and run plays I
knew were there catch you know, the crossing routes that
he could deliver, but his hunger as it gets closer
to the goal line or to a first down, like
that doesn't show up on a stat sheet, it shows up.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
On the film. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Again, like the role seems to be kind of like,
I guess what a lot of people expected earlier in
the year. How has Terry's return helped him kind of
actualize what it can be in the office.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, quite a bit. And where he's aligned.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
How we feature it into that space where for a while,
you know, we put him into different locations, you know,
where it might be the progression of where the read is.
But having that open up, that's made a big difference.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Logan for sure.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
It's cool and coach, when you look at Philly's defense,
very very stout, very good defense, how do you game
plan for offense? How do you get them prepared for
a defense like this and maybe give them some problems?

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah, I think number one, they play really sound and like,
and sometimes when you play a team that is sound
man like, you can't be disappointed with the you know,
the five yard run or the eight yard checkdown because
you're able to sustain a drive. Sometimes you can chase
a play because you feel like I need this explosive play.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
But they've played really sound.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
They've done a great job going after the ball, the
punch and the physicality for it. So we'll have to
make sure as an offense take what is there all
right to be able to sustain drives. And if we
do that at we've got enough playmakers as you get
into these critical situations that they can go do their.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Thing just like this is kind of maybe a silly question,
but what's the thing you think is that they do best?
Your think you admire most about that group.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
I would say on both sides of the ball, their
red zone offensively, they're scoring of it. Defensively the way
they can really tighten up as it gets close inside.
So the red zone scoring if you want to play,
you know, good defense or you know, be a scoring offense,
like you can't settle for field goals and you got
to limit people to field goals and that spot. So
I think the closer they get, that's part of what

(05:34):
makes them a really good offense and a really good
defense too.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
And coach we talked a lot about what these final
stretch of games means for the young guys, getting to
see them their development, and that's show in a real
time on Christmas.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Day with Johnny Newman three sacks.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
I think, first time that's happened since what's twenty fifteen,
it's been a really long time and win. But you
look at his first year, injuries kind of takes a
hard time to development. Now you can get year two,
you're getting to see him developed more. What have you
seen from his development?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
I think it's the disruptiveness. He can beat you to
the punch.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
So when he penetrates, when he stunts, when he moves,
that's when I see him at his best. He get
a game, a play in the game this you know,
like running behind the line of scrimmage, down the line
to go make a tackle. So for a big guy man,
he just got quickness and burst and finished. And that's
what makes him unique. And so the more you play,
the game starts to slow down. You know, when you

(06:27):
can take a shot, when you can go make a play.
And that's what we're seeing happen with.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Johnny and another guy that I think is kind of
you know, playing really well good ball is kin Law,
Like how have they worked together maybe helped each other
out in terms of developing, Like do they have a
relationship that is helpful?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
And so between Deron and JK and Johnny, the three
of them, they're not built the same.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
They have you know, like compliments, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
To how to work off one another, like JK so
long and you know in that way he's powerful. Johnny
can beat you to the punch with his quickness and
drown like he is as stout as they come. Like
at the line of scrimmage, and so I like that
they have. They're not all exactly the same and they
bring different things, and I'll look forward to seeing them
all on the field, some together and some packages in

(07:14):
the night's game.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Two and Coase a guy like Jala or a super
dynamic and do so many things, Well, how can you,
guys make his life a little more difficult? And how
do you game plan against a guy that is so dynamic,
that does so many things?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Right, Yeah, because you see the downfield throws that are
really accurate, and so you want to have some disguises
for that Brian, So it's not you know, so clear
by the time.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
He gets the ball where he would like to deliver it.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
And then the second part pass rush and game planning
and how to go do that so he can't have
the second play you know, get started because he has
probably over one hundred scrambled, not all across the line
of scrimmage, but ones that get extended. And so that'll
be a big piece to have the disguise not allow
them you know what it is before.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
The snap, and then have a specific rush plan where
we can stay square and in front of them and.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Make them, you know, play from inside the pocket, which
is difficult to do for guy that has such good
success outside of the pocket too.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
You're talking about like maybe why it's so important to
keep again, like everyone talks about extending the play, extending
the play, Why is it so important to keep him
in there and keep the defense on schedule.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yeah, it's hard enough to defend them with one play, sure,
and so the second play begins a G. Brown and
you know Devonte where they can now extend, and so
you don't want that to happen, especially if you're matching somebody.
You know, three seconds now goes to five seconds on
play where I'm matching and matching all the way down
the field. So you want to make sure, hey, let's
you know, compress it as much as we can stay

(08:38):
on top of these receivers that can make these big
explosive plays. And then oh, by the way, they have
somebody pretty unique at running back and so like the
tackling physicality, So you know, the guys are ready for
the challenge, but they definitely provide, you know, some unique
challenges for a defense, speed play making outside the running back,
the quarterback, you know, who's a dual threat. So those

(09:00):
are a few of the things that that are part
of the game plan for sure.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
And coach you mentioned him, so let's talk about him.
Sa Quan Barkley. You called him unique. What makes a
guy like him unique and how can you be?

Speaker 3 (09:10):
It's vision and he can see the gap opened over there,
even though the runs going to this side, so they
cut back all the way into the backside b gap.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
The ability to bounce out and get to the edge.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
He's got a lethal spin move you know where you
think you have them lined up, and he can you know,
change direction to go. But balance, he's a good pass
catcher out of the backfield. So I think those are
a few of the things. But vision, to me is
a number one. Even though he's a bigger back. It's
the vision to make you miss that makes him so difficult.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
So you talk about making somebody miss, and to me,
that comes back to like one of your core tenants
and tackling, Like how important is just to make sure
you get hats on the football carrier in the send
of game like this, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
You can't expect the person over there who is going
to make it, you know, the second, the third, the
fourth guy in with tracking and the right leverage to
go because that will be a really.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Important part of this as well.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
And coach, we appreciate you time always, thank you for
joining us on the couch, but it's time for you
and Logan to get into some film studying real quick.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Coach KJK Tom no doubt.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Okay, command is family. Before we hear more from our
head coach Dan Quinn. If you are listening on audio platforms,
make sure you go to Commander's YouTube page right now
so you can check out the film room between Logan,
Paulson and head coach Dan Quinn. Now for more from
head coach Dan Quinn. Coach is crazy to say this,
but this is our final game of the season. What

(10:30):
has been your message to the guys in that locker room,
because we know there's a lot of emotion that comes
with those final games and something and.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Yeah, there's a lot of fight in our group. And
a football brotherhood is so unique. They're so close, so
tight and connected, and so having that winning locker room
feel against the division team that's arrival, and so knowing
they'll put everything they can into that performance and we
only get seventeen of them that are guaranteed, and so
you want to make sure, man, Like when you look
back at that tape, there's no you know, no except

(10:59):
for what had happened was this, this is this is
how it went down, and this is how we played.
And so yeah, we're really excited, man, coach.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
I mean you talking about how there's only seventeen of them,
Like for you there's been a lot. Does it still
kind of carry some of that, you know, like a
raw emotion to it?

Speaker 3 (11:16):
You still get a yeah, yeah, there's no doubt, and
especially like having these division games here at the end,
it's just it's it's awesome, man. And for new players
getting to play somebody a second time, like that's the
first experience that they've had doing that. They you know,
I was talking to Josh Connley about it, like the
Giants twice, the Cowboys twice, and now here we're gonna
be the Eagles twice, and so what do we do

(11:37):
the first game? How'd you play them? And so learning
that whole dynamic is cool And for the players, like
staying in the pocket of now it's so easy to
look ahead or behind and like neither of them are
going to do a lot for us other than just
like stay in this pocket together and so we'll throw
you know, like plan for the week and how to
go execute it and then now you got to go

(11:59):
put it all together.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
It's fun.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
So I got one more.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
We have one more.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
So we got Bobby Whider.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
He's five away like him about or is that well?
I said last week, we didn't have to wait two weeks.
He could get it all the way. But it's remarkable.
I talked to London about it as well.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Oh yeah, just to know, like that's rare error of
that type of tackling. And he's the best tackler you
know that that I've ever coached. He's the one that
I look to about what excellence looks like that tackling
and I can't wait to see that and knowing that
man he's part of like a club that only two

(12:36):
others have been a part of.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Coach, like you said, rare air, that's Hall of Fame
Air right there. There's other two guys are Radis London,
Fletching Coach and closing. We've seen our fans show up
and show out each in every world trip.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Me and Logan are there as well.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
It's kind of sad that this is our last one
of the season for the last time, Coach, can you
them mess ship the best fans in the NFL on
why they need to get loud and show up?

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Man, Well, I would say one of the the best
parts about being on the road is it's you feel
like it's you against everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
And so when we have our fans there.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
It's so easy to see us where we are in
any stadium, and man, it just makes your heart smile
walking through that tunnel. Hey, coach, there we go, and
like you feel that energy and support about it. And
I think that's what makes our organization unique and different
is the long history of generations of football fans here

(13:26):
in the DMV and so to be a part of
that and know that we're part of that support now,
like this is our time to be in that space. Man,
it's really cool, and like it is never lost on us.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
It's never lost on any of us here.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Coach.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
We appreciate your time. Happy new ya come in is fans.
This has been the game plan we have Coach dan Quinn,
Logan Paulson, i'mune host, Brian Colbert.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Junior and we'll see out to night in Philly.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
They the game plan with Dan Quinn presented by Salisburg
University was filmed at the Big Bear AI Command Center
