Speaker 1 (00:14):
Open into the game playing with the coach, Dan Quinn,
Logan Foston, your whole We're here in the command center
Big Bear as Studio ready to celebrate a dove with
our coach. We got a big win over NFC East
FO the New York Giants.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
How great was it to get back in the wincom Man,
We needed to be on that left hand side.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
That is for sure. Nothing quite like a winning locker room.
You know, these guys and this is all around the league.
They work so hard at it and so to see
that connection with them after the game and knowing they
put it all into it and then got it done
like it's a big deal.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
I mean, how was it for the coaches? I mean
everyone forgets like all the work that the coaches put it,
how was it for you guys? Uh and the staff
together with.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
That, I told the team, man, take take a couple
of extra.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Minutes and enjoyed this way.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
It's been a tough spot, and I said, like, if
I had to go through something really hard, are like,
this is the type of crew I want to go
through that with if I had to, And I don't
want to, but that's the type of guys that are here.
I love the fight, the attitude. There's plenty to clean
up some of the mistakes, some of those things of
turnover margin and penalties that were too much, and those

(01:16):
we have to fix. But to see the fight and
get back on the correct side of the column, that
was a big deal.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Bruh.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Those postgame locker room sounds and I love those. You
get so juiced, and you brought some more sounds to us.
Earlier this week we found out some updates about Jay
and Daniels, so'll be shut down for the rest of
the season. What goes into that decision making?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, so he still hasn't been cleared, you know, to play,
and so.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
As we're going through this week, that decision wasn't gonna
be available till the end, and then we have a
short week next week with Christmas, and we just thought, man,
the best thing here for him for the team. He
can practice and still work those things. There's nothing like playing,
you know, for the growth. But in this instance it
was the right call. Sometimes the more difficult right over

(02:00):
the easier wrong. And in this spot, he's not on
our so he'll get the practice, continue to work those things.
And also it was important for him to give the
kind of support to Marcus that he gives to him.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
And so I hope when you talk to him in
the off season.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
That you know what, I had a different vantage point,
a different viewpoint, and hopefully I'm never in that spot again.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
But this is what I learned and how I got better.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
And do you think that's an important part of the
development process for Jayden is helping Marcus because again, like
I remember when we were in Atlanta, and you know,
the two mats always tells you help each other out, Like,
is that something you see kind of with this relationship here?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I do, and Marcus has been such a good leader
for us, and it's kind of a way to pay
it forward, pay it back however you want to go
through it. But it's also the right thing for Marcus,
like he's absolutely earned the right to have all the
reps in the week, you know, get himself ready to
play as well, because it's it's not as easy you
don't get the reps, then you go into play and

(02:55):
get into it.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
So for him it's a big deal.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
It'side a chance to visit with both of them, explain
that and of course Jayden wants to go. That's the computor,
but he also understood and uh you know the decision
in that way.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
And coach, you mentioned Jaden keetnings to watch Marcus Mariold
and how valuable that is that leadership that Marcus Mariold
has brought to this team all season long, and how
valuable is that.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yeah, he's such a well regarded teammate here, Like if
you had asked anybody on either side, you know his
name would come up. You know it's him that Jeremy
reeves that just can impact others just by being in
the building, like they make other people better, not just
the other players, like the building and that says a
lot about who he is. And so like he'll do

(03:34):
great in his in his face and going for We're
bummed for Jaden, but knowing that Marcus, like he's ready
for that.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
What did you see for mispreparation? Because again, he's played,
like you said, played really well. Like how is he
prepped and how has his experience let him to the
sexy we've seen from the season.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, I think he plays fast.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, you know, he likes to make quick decisions, be decisive.
He likes to get on the ball and get rolling.
He's had like an unbelievable history in that So some
things that he knows about, you know, the zone read
offense that you know, like the small percentage of people
in the world with the smallest of the details, and
so it's fun to see him into that spot. But
the competitiveness and then getting reps with everybody, Terry being

(04:12):
back and being into the space and working with Debo,
so for him, like he'll be ready to go for.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Sure, and coach you mentioned, I gotta imagine Marcus Mayriol's
job got a little easier when Terry came back and
we saw that the Giants Terry found a way we
called the Giants slayer. He found a way to get
back into that end zone. How valuable has it been
not only for Terry, not only for the wide receiver room,
but the entire team had me Terry back on that field.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah, and all play call significance, you know to that one.
There's a certain covers that you know, like that play
would beat. And the same thing with the woman's senate.
So I thought, sometimes, Brian, you got to get to
a check that's the right play. We call that like
a premier look or get to the best play and
So Marcus did that on.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
That really, Yeah, that's fantastic, man.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
That's cool.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
You could see like coming off what a good call,
Like he was pumped to hear the call coming in
and then go execute it because very rarely does a
go exactly you know, like you had have done it
during the week.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
So it was a big play, a turning point one
for us for sure.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
And again like, how did you mention Ben Siate, Like
how does Terry's return impact the guy like him? Again,
like some of the play action stuff down the scene
for Ben just other guys getting ops because Terry's back,
it feels.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Like yeah, and then you get it play making ability
for him, like cause the penalty you know, on one
coming out of the end zone, so sometimes doesn't even
show up and catch, you know, coming off her own
goal line and throwing to him. They foul him all right,
first and ten at the twenty yard line now and
not the four or the two.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Or whatever it was. And so there's a lot of
ways that he impacted.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
It just opens up more players in the field and
that's a big deal, sure, and.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Coach, when you look at this run game, I think
we all were a little shocked to see Chris Rodriguez.
It active, but we knew that it meant it was
time for the next guy to step up, and Bill
did that in a tremendous way ninety plus yards I
think for the second time this season. What have you
seen from him as far as the development standpoint for
my working runner.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, he's hungry.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah, and uh, you know, like I see the resilience,
I see the fight, the inside the tackles runs, those
are the ones that just jump out to me. And
again even on the touchdown run, putting his foot in
the ground and getting vertical. So he's making like the
progress and the development that you want. He's working hard
in practice. On the kickoff return, he's working hard. Like

(06:17):
in protection, I was proud of him. Like sometimes at
the end of the game people just say, I'm gonna
bring it, I'm gonna bring the safety, I'm gonna bring this,
and like good block and so those are the trusting
moments as a running back, like I am going to
take care of the QB. Like you have to have
that mindset, like I'll be in front of him and
the quarterback and like he is not getting through me.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
And so is that development coming from practice? Or the
mentorship of McNichols, like who, like what are you attributed to?

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I would say a little bit of both.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
But practice, yeah, for sure, and for him, you know,
proving it over and over again, and the running skills
you know, have always been there.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
To see that whole thing coming together, that's a big
deal for us and coach.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
We're going to talk about the defense, but I have
to talk about Jalen Man and that point where it's
I that something hasn't been done ninety four. I was
two years old, and I loved that you took time
to shout out Brian Mitchell in that moment to say, yes,
this is something you did, but there's a guy in
the building that did it before you. Man, how great
was it to see Jalen Lane get into the end
zone and be able to celebrate his second parmer.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
It's cool because you know, earlier in the spring, like
we had Brian also come out, you know, spend time
with the returners like this is a heavy hitter in
the history of the league, like not just our franchise,
but like ever. Yeah, so to see that happen, there's
another connection there, you know, because be Mitch and so

(07:36):
it was good Man. We thought there'd be a chance
for some returns. It's cold when it's gonna be a
factor to the return game, because you had a twenty
yard return earlier in the.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Game to set up some good field position.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
But that one, there's an excitement and like an energy
that comes from a kick return or a pump return
that goes like people just lose their minds, they go crazy,
and so it's so much fun. And so to have
that happen twice for him this year, I think it
speaks to like what's ahead, you know, for him as
a returner and coach.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Before we wrap, I do got to mention our defense
because we are going against some heavy hitters and the
Eagles haven't seen them since the NFC Championship game.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
We know what they have, we know all the weapons
they have.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
How have you been able to game plan and get
our defense prepared for this matchup?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yeah, it's pleased to see the resilience in the last game,
you know, against New York because goal line stand four
shots from the one had to stop the end of
the game, had some stops and those are the kind
of plays that you have to make.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Against a good offense like Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
When the moments come and you got to stand up
and make a play, those are the times. And so
having done that, that's a big deal for us. And
so yeah, last time they got the best of us,
and so yeah, we're very much looking forward to, you know,
to go.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
In the battery of them.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Coach, is always fun sitting down with you after when
we'll talk a little bit later. But now it's time
to be a logan against what don't Okay, command this
family before we hear more from our head coach Dan Quinn.
If you are listening on audio play platforms, make sure
you go to command as YouTube page right now so
you could check out the film room between logan Paulson and.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Head coach Dan Quinn.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Now put more from head coach Dan Quinn. Coach yet
again another NFC Coast opponent. We know how big these
games are, but this one's a little different because it
is against Philly. Like I said, last time we saw
them was the NFC Championship game. How ready are you
today's game?

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, we're pumped for tonight and anytom it gets played,
you know at home. It's a big deal for us,
the connection with the fans, but playing against them.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Offensive you have to belee clean and efficient.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
What I mean by that is staying on schedule, you know,
and not have a penalty knock you back.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Make sure we can convert the third downs.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
You don't want to get into a spot where it's
a back and forth punting. So the efficiency, you know,
our ability to move it down on some drives, that's
a big deal for us.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
And then man owning the ball. These guys have been
good at taking it.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
And on defensive side, you know, that's got to be
the key.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
You've got to.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Knock out one or two to give another possession or
two to our offense.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
And so those two things have got to go in.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Our favorite I mean it sounds like you're describing complimentary football, right.
YEA offense needs to support the defense. Defense is to
get a turnover. Sure, special teams are involved in that,
right Like in the week. How do you prep the
guys for that level of detail in a game?

Speaker 3 (10:12):
It's all of us do in that part, you know,
for the game. All right, you know, get this block
on wan day, that's your job.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
You know somebody else's job might.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Be, Hey, I got to help create field position as
a gunner on punk you know Trescu and bang one
up there. I gotta make sure, hey, keep it inside
the ten yard line, make it go the long way,
and so all those individual parts Logan, they just keep
adding up, like man, whatever your role is for this game,
go execute it at the highest level. If that's in that,
I could be excellent. Let's pick up this week and
running back that's what's going to happen. If I got

(10:42):
to know play more man man this week, and that's
what we got to get done. So whatever that part
of your game plan is, make sure you own that one,
and then that's what we need.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Coach, appreciate your time a game. Congrats on the one.
We're excited to see us take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Command It is faming.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
This is the game plan with Coach dan Quinn, Logan Pulse,
and I'm os Brian Colwood Jr. We'll see y'all at
the crib at both state. The game Plan with Dan Quinn,
presented by Salisburg University, was filmed at the Big Bear
AI Command Center studio
