Speaker 1 (00:00):
The man.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
This man, we welcome into the game day preview podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:03):
We used it for every home game, and I'm with
some phenomenal gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Gary Clark, future Hall of Famer, Brian Mitchell, future Hall
of Famer, London Fletcher, future Hall of Famer.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Is all you know. I was just thinking the same thing.
We need to say, Hall of Famer.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I'm here with three Hall of famers did some big
things on that field, and.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
We are here to preview the game.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
We're gonna be talking about Jayden Daniels return and how
we got it done in La. We're gonna be standing
on business. We played that game a couple of times.
I don't know if Loney got to stand on business yet,
but I'll keep you play that game. Yeah, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
We're here with producer Caroline Jason.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Jerry in the back made us these little cars and
everything like that, hooking us up.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
We appreciate all the fan love. We appreciate y'all so much.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Let's get right into it, fellas, because the story of
last week was all about jayde and Daniels return.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Miss two weeks came back.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
We didn't know what we were gonna see, but he
was playing at his gary, which we all know that
has a little extra motivation.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Oh one hundred percent. Like he came back.
Speaker 5 (01:05):
He showcased why he is Jayden and Daniels why he
is the top one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
But also when the defense plays well, the offense always
looks a lot better as well too. So I have
credit to the defense as well as Jayden playing extremely well.
But your defense plays better, the offense tends to play
a lot better.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I think when you look at it.
Speaker 6 (01:27):
Jayden came out there and just his his presence puts
stress on the defense. They understand how you can run
the ball. If you watch that game you watched Sandy,
I meanego Los Angeles Rogers coming into the game, they
have been giving up tons of yards to quarterbacks. They
completely ran a different defense against Jayden and they've done
(01:48):
against everybody else because they were worried and early on
they got to him a little bit. But once he
settled down and realized that those peak shoes wasn't working,
he had already given his old to drest cancer.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
He decided to put on his.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
Real shoes and he went to work, and when he
knew that knee brings wasn't gonna mess with him too much.
Dude went out there and working. Jayden Dames a special.
It's a special, dude. But you know what happens when
Jayden's out there playing, everybody else also fees up of
what he does. But I said, think about this, when
Jayden got injured against the Packers last game he played,
(02:23):
and then coming back three games later, he had a
whole totally revamped receiver corps.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yes, no more Terry, no more North Brown. Now, Luke
McCaffrey's playing a bigger role. Deebo is a featured guy now.
And then you got Jayleen Lane may play. So he
was he had to get used to it. He got
two new starting tackles to office alignment, so it took
him a little bit to get get comfortable, to get
his feet where. It's like you said, once he took
that first hit and all that, he started to get
(02:51):
into a rhythm. I have I figured they were gonna change,
they were gonna spot him a third down. That's the
difference when you play. When he got Jaden, when you
got market very older Marcus, when he was a little
bit younger like you had to spot him and like, hey,
not letting him get going scrambling all that. Like you
mentioned the charge, they played a totally different game. Yeah,
we're not gonna let him beat us, especially on third
(03:13):
downs when it comes to with his legs.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Command this family.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
We're out here at d C Prime out in ash Burn, Virginia.
If you're listening, that was the music that was playing
in the background, if you're watch and that's these immaculate
vibes here.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
At d C Prime. They take good care of us.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
We ate a whole steak before we even started the show,
so we feel more than good. I tend to eat
a lot, eat a lot loved and Fletcher, my brother.
You're not always on the show, but you're a defensive guy.
You are our defensive hall of fame.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
How that goes? How that transfer to eat the lot?
Loved to.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Sex fletch Now, so I thought you had.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Let you get what said the group chat a video
of him tossing some guy's helmet off, hitting them with
a hook, throwing them on.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
So I don't want that was.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
But London, we were talking about this defense. The game
started off ten to zero. Yeah, but then all of
a sudden Joe Junior gets in that lab and makes
those adjustments something we have been looking for when we
have lost. Man, why have we made these adjustments? Joe
made those adjustments. We didn't give up a single point
after that. Man, how great was it to see those adjustment?
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Magnificent adjustment. And so we went into that game. We
were blitzing a lot on third downs, but we weren't
maintaining our gap responsibility. The whole was too wide. That's
how Herbert was able to run for forty one yards
getting blitzing cornerbacks running to each other hit keenan Allen
twenty nine yarder. He changed up his defense, he went
(04:41):
to a more of a four man rush. Plays on coverage,
you got more eyes on on the quarterback, you got
more eyes on just being around, being able to make plays.
But that's what you had to have. Kawhi Martin said,
nothing charges of drivers. Yeah, man, he makes that fumbo.
That right there changed the momentum of that ball game.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
I think people look at a football though, and they
cheer for a team, and they think that their team is.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Only professional team out there.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
The other teams have a whole fifty three professional players too,
with coaches has been doing a long time, so they
may come up with something that may circumfit what you're doing,
and then you make an adjustment like I would say,
I tell people Gary, how coach give would practice adjustment
was he was ahead of everybody. You know, the man
would saying, well, we're gonna do this. They gonna try this,
so we're gonna run this. That's that's a little that's
(05:27):
a little out there. Coach didn't have the life other
than football. I'm gonna just say this is the truth. Now,
most guys have a life. They don't have everybody tell
But Joe Witt said, okay, well you're doing this, we'll
switch it.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Up on you.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
And when they made that switch, it helped them out.
Now I think going forward, that's gonna give them some confidence,
you know. And when they played complimentary football, when both
sides of the ball are getting a little bit in,
I think they could beat anybody out there.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
And Gary be mentioned it getting off to maybe a
faster start, right, we did start off ten to zero.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
How do we get off to that fast start?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Because you know better than anybody, get off to that
fast start, especially on prime time, can really set the
tone for the game.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
I mean, it's really about making sure that you're concentrating
on what you need to do, how you need to
do it, and what you saw on film earlier that week.
The key is coming out and making plays when you
have the chance to make a play. But what I did,
like we did start slow, but then was able to
come through and kick buck for the rest of the game.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
I'll take that. I'll take that because.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
You know, some team started off fast last week and
what happened came the end of the day. So it's
all about how you finished the game, not necessarily how
you start the game. It's all about finishing the game,
finishing the game strong, because at the end of the day,
there's four quarters in the football game.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
And we missed the story of this Monday night football
is going to.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Be the year two quarterbacks Caleb Williams Jaden Daniels Caleb
going number one, j DA's going number two. They might
be paired together for the rest of their careers because
of that draft.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
You know, all that goals. What do you expect to
see from this match?
Speaker 2 (06:57):
And remember what we saw last year that hell, Mary,
what do you expect to see?
Speaker 6 (07:01):
It's a different team for both guys is another coordinate,
a whole head coach in Chicago. I'll say this for
a fact, Jayden dani is not concerned about keleb Willis
one day.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Now, that's a fact I wouldn't say.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
I couldn't say it for a fact about Caleb Willis
and Jayon Daniels because once Jayden threw that hell Mary
last year, you would have sworn we were the rivals
of the Chicago Bears because their fans have been in
every commander's text dread, They're on everything that somebody posts,
and they have now made this thing into like, well
it's Jaden against Caleb. Well to be honest with your quarterbacks,
(07:38):
they play each other anyway. You know, they're not on
the field at the same time. So I think this
team right now, Jaden is concerned about him improving, helping
his team improve, and he could care less about the
Hail Mary. You know what I love about the kid
When they asked I call him dumb ass questions.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Okay, he gives you a to let you know he
didn't like the question.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
You know, I understand that because sometimes people ask questions
that they got a story they want to tell, and
they want you to say what they want you to say.
But now he's not gonna give him that right. But
that this game is not gonna be about what happened
last year. It's about what's going through happened this year
and this year they got a receiver out that is balding. Okay,
(08:23):
he is baling. They have a better defense. So we
have to take what we did last week, bollow that up,
bring it back this week and add something to it,
because stay stagnant on what we did last week won't
help us win this week. Because we threw a hell
mary last year, that won't help us. We got to
do more this year.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
And London, like b said, it's all about this year.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
And this year the Bears eleventh and scoring offense in
the NFL, so they can put points up. But again,
we saw what our defense was able to do, able
to stifle la charges offense.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
That is good as well.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
How can we have that same success against all these
weapons that be mismassed, especially a guy like a Doomsay
who scored in every game he's played.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
This season, had some weapons over there, the kids over there,
a lot of the kids oz you mentioned the dudes
that he dj Moore, hasn't even really got going yet.
They got guys. They've invested in their offensive line, especially
the interior. Traded for two guys, signed another guy in
free agency. They knew they had to get better in
the trenches. Caleb Caleb looks awesome in this offense, especially
(09:23):
the last two games. It's more suited for his style
of play. They get him out of the pocket, they
use his legs, boot legs, all that type of thing.
He's throwing more more stuff on schedule because Johnson is
harping like you gotta throw this ball on time. All
that ad lib and pro it's a it's a time
and the place for it. But they can't be your
first go to, like I'm an ad lib. So from
(09:45):
a defensive standpoint, came a lot of explosive plays and
the Bears, we thought green By took a lot of
shots deep, they'll take by this video or even more.
They gonna have some trick plays, shots reverses, all those
types of states. So you got to be prepared, keep
keep everything in front of you. We're gonna have to
(10:05):
get the Caleb. I mean, we're gonna have to get
the Calub. We gotta get some pressure on it. He's
only been sacked once in the last two weeks.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
And Gary talking about the offensive weapons.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
They have a guy and DeAndre Smith at running back
who's very, very capable, remember seeing him at Philly. They're
struggling this year and a lot of times. You know
better than anybody. When players are ready to get that
breakout game, they want to do it against a team
like us, They want to do it on prime time.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
How do we stop swift and getting off?
Speaker 3 (10:27):
I mean.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
That's a good question. When you're talking about a running back.
That's more of a question for being mischieve be quite honest.
You gotta get pressure.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
I mean the thing about this, you know, I we
we we play skill position. You know, you look at
the guys out front and in the trenches and linebackers.
Those guys make games go and I think what needs
to happen. And we've watched and games we've dominated defensively,
you know, Ken Law, Deryn Payne, you know Newton. Those
(11:08):
guys have dominated if they can move. Like I look
at games. I tell everyone, you know, people look for
the big players. Try looking at the game from the
at the football and watch who's playing on the other
side of that team's bomb. And if you get if
we could get Ken Law and those guys moving that
offensive line back we stopped. We can stop swift like that.
(11:29):
Running backs don't like getting the ball and have them
make a move. They want to be able to hit
it down here. They'll make a move till the night
two or three yards down the field. So we have
to do that. And then when you doing that and
you getting that penetration, all of a sudden, now you
got guys like Bobby Wagner and all coming in and
making those tackles. You know, linebackers are supposed to be
the tackles, not not the defensive bats. You know, when
I see all ready safe, they had ten tackles, I'm
(11:51):
like that got it. So you need to get some
penetration and make them become more one dimensional and then
flip it over when we get the ball, Bill Rodriguez, McNichols, Jaden.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
They have to be able to get a running game.
Speaker 6 (12:09):
Going to keep those guys on the sideline, because I
know one thing for sure, if we mess around and
get two scores and this, that and the other, Ben
Johnson is gonna throw away his playbook.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
And start throwing the ball through it.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Ad. That's just how he is. That's most offensive coordinators.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
They want to make up everything in one They tell
the quarter, don't try to make it for hell, they
call the play for him to try to make it
up for him. So if that, if we can stop
their run, stifle them a little bit, and have a
legitimate run game, he throws the favorite to us.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Yeah, I'll be surprised if we aren't able to run
the ball on the Bears. They what thirty first in
the league stop of the run, right, Yeah, they they
don't do it. You talked about penetration, playing on the
opposite of the opponent's line of scrimmage. They the line it.
They don't play on the in the backfield. They don't
get a bunch of disruptions. That's why you see them
(12:58):
struggling to stop of the RUNA it's gonna come down
to you know what we do. Can we stop that
rug and then from there our rug game against their defense. Yeah,
that's that's what I want to see. That's a secret weapon.
I mean, yeah, see our run game against their defense.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
And it was a secret weapon against La right beforey
Crosskey Merrit getting those carries, right, we kind of saw
doing a running.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Back by committee.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Dollar Bill got the start, got the majority of the carries,
one hundred and eleven yards, two touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Truly was the heartbeat of our offense.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Now, Gary, I know who you're not a running back,
but you know about making plays, you know about scoring touchdowns. Man,
how great was the round pick be able to.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
Get it done? I love a running back.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
I love all our running backs, to be quite honest,
But when you have a running back who comes kind
of like not out of the blue, but kind of
out of the blue, and nobody quite expected that of
him and he's able to come out in showcase, it's
like perfect example.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
It was like B Mitch from B Mitch took back
that kickoff right away.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
We was like, well, damn, you see stuff that you
don't expect right away, but when it happens, it comes
out and that god plays great. That's why I always
said you should always be worried about who your number
two player.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Who's the backup, because if your backup.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
Is better than your starter sometimes, which Ricky Sanders was
a lot of times that Ricky Sander was a backup initially.
Now we talk about Ricky Senders, you don't see them
ever see him and being a backup right now.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
But what I loved about Joe Gibbs.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Gibbs second team was his good or better than his
first team. That's when you have a great team, when
you have your people are second. They call him second team,
which are not because they're good, they'res good or better
than the first team. But guys, you coulda win a
lot of football games that way. And he showcasing and
he's enjoying it. You can tell every time he runs
(14:48):
the ball, he's enjoying himself running.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
You know what he practiced all that year knowing he
wouldn't go play.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
All you can ask for is your chance.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
Well, when you get your chance, you got to make
sure that you don't give it back. He's like, no,
I'm going to be the guy now, And in his mind,
I know that's what he's saying. He's not going to
say a publicly because we never do. But when you
get your chance to start, you don't want to give
it back.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Chris Paul, you just made me think of Chris Paul.
Chris Paul has been playing his tail off man. He
got it, He got that, he got a vice grip
on that job man, and he's supposed to. I mean,
he's big, strong, heavy haired dude, quiet.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
But he's out there ball and the opportunity.
Speaker 6 (15:33):
Have gotten an opportunity in the NFL because somebody got
hurt or somebody didn't play well. And once you get
that chance, your your job is to make the coach
never go back to the person. I got my job
because two people got hurt. Two people got hurt. In
the body back game, I wouldn't play quarterback. I played quarterback,
perpect turn running back. I was covering kicks everything. I
(15:55):
basically said, I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry, you know.
And Joe Johnson, I give Joe credit. Joe said, bro,
I'm gonna teach you how to do this. After he
got hurt, he kept teaching me.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
You know.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Some guys were saying, I ain't helping you take my job. Yeah, man,
I'm helping the team out, you know. So you have
to be able to do those things. Brun And you're right,
Chris bro Oh my lord, Chris, Chris hit New Booming.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
They just moved serious.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
The legend of big Fletch was born when somebody got injured.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Oh yeah, real quick, my rookie.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Year, I'm playing nothing but special teams. I ended up
being Initially I was like just a backup nickel linebacker,
eventually move up to the back of Mike Backer Week fifteen.
This was six sixteen game season. Aeric Kill. You remember
Big You probably you remember Big Eric Hill played for
(16:50):
the Cardinals that he he came to the Rams. He
got hurt towards a bicep. That Monday. I come into
the facility and uh man, he was boy. So he
was signing some fan mail. He's like, a big fella's
on you. Nah, you got it? I said, got what
(17:10):
I buyed you. That next game, were about to play
the forty niners. They still got Jerry Rice, Steve Young
t o Garrison Hurst's ball. I'm like, man, I got what.
So I studied so much getting ready for that game.
I was studying in the locker room right before the kickoff,
like I'm still studying my stuff. I went out there
(17:30):
and I put on sixteen tackles. So the legend of
Big Fats was boring off.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
In in London.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
When you got right, because I look at Bill the
same way when you get that stat line, when you
finally get on that field and do it. What does
that do for your confidence as a player, because I'm
assuming Bill is going through that same thing.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
One hundred eleven yards, two touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Just he's the fruit of his labor. Here's here's the
crazy thing. He's just scratching the surface of what he's
going to really be able to do. You will fast
forward week seventeen or even a year from now, like, man,
this dude is so much better because you don't. He
doesn't even realize what he doesn't know right now. He's
just out there playing. He doesn't really even realize there's
(18:11):
another level he'll get to, terms of being able to
set blocks up, being able to become more of a
weapon in passing game, being there that third down back,
knowing that they can call on you to pick up blitzes.
There's so much more to his game that we're gonna
look at this game be like dag that that was
an average Bill type game. After what he's gonna do.
Speaker 6 (18:32):
He got some of the things he does instinctively are
things that running backs try to be trying to learn
and coaches trying to teach him. You watch those two touchdowns,
that's the inside play, but he gave that stud boom
outside Edrin James exactly like that.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
So it's crazy. We had we had him on the
Players Club this week, shout out to the Players.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Club, Nominated Players Club.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Every nominated Players Club. And we asked him who was
his uh who did he watch come growing up? And
he said, man, I studied all of them and just
add them to my game and stuff like that, say
his favorite player actually was very shattered, but did he
said to this day though, before he goes to bed,
like he has to watch some film, like just watching
(19:17):
Keep That Up. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
I was like, this kid gets it.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
He's one of those kids that's just locked in.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
And it's funny watching be Mitch watch the games because
he'd be like a proud uncle every time Bill touched
that rock.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Him and Jalen Man proud uncle.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Will having fun here out of d C Prime for
our Game day preview Fells. Before we move on to
some fun and some walks down memory lane, Gary, we
got to talk about Debo Man, because you talk about
God stepping up in the row. No he was not
a backup. No, he was not, you know, sitting on
the bench waiting his turn. But it's different when you
step into that number one receiver role, especially when you're
filling in for a guy like one seven and Terry
(19:52):
mclauin him. Coming in this season, people were doubting him.
People were worried about what kind of shape he is,
what he had left in the tank. I think D
Boy has shown us he is still a true no
more receiver.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
In the NFL.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
I mean, I agree, and I think quite honestly, I
think every receiver, whether they're considered the number one receiver
or not the number one receiver by the general public,
when you go into a game, you have to feel
that you're the guy. Like you go in like I
guarantee you, myself, Art and Ricky, all three of us
thought we were the guy. And if you don't feel
that way, then you probably shouldn't be playing. You probably
(20:24):
shouldn't be playing. If you don't think you're the guy.
You should want the ball every time. But what I
love about Debo every time he touches it, it's exciting.
I mean every time he touches it, it's exciting for me.
I don't think he touches it enough. I mean, I'm
gonna figure out the way to get him the ball
because every time he touches it, he can always break it.
(20:46):
I mean, he's always exciting in what he does. And
he's got himself into shape because I think we always
a little concerned that he got hurt a lot, you know,
and typically you get hurt a lot. You can be
a great player, but if you're not on the field,
you don't get the showcase it enough. But he has
gotten himself in such great shape that those injuries are
not going to come around this way again. He doesn't
(21:06):
have to worry about those muscle tears and things that
he had in the past. He's balling, like straight up balling.
And I can't wait till Terry gets back, because then
what do you wait and watch?
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Then? Yeah, wait and watch?
Speaker 5 (21:19):
Then when you had the combination all these guys playing great,
that's when all of a sudden you find the offensive coach,
offensive coordinator is going to find another way to incorporate
all these great players playing together. When I first came
out was we were a two receiver set. It was
me and Art, But all of a sudden, we started
seeing Ricky Sanders make plays, and what do we do?
(21:41):
All of a sudden, the posse gets born and we're
a three ye team all of a sudden instead of
being a two regular team, and then Ricky had the
heavy package.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
You know.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
So when you see great players play great, they will
create an offense around them that makes them even better
than they were.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
And that's what's going to happen.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
I believe a true game changing in debos when I
think of like a game changing moment. Of course we
all think about that Hail Mary last year against the Beds,
but we want to turn the page. Right, we've heard
about that Hail Mary in nauseam. It's a new year,
like being said, So I want to go even further
back because I'm here with Hall of famers, Like London said, Lennon,
I'm gonna start with you those game changing moments. What
(22:17):
game changing moment were you a part of. I'm sure
there's hundreds that you were part of being a Super
Bowl champion.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
On which one would you pick them?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
I gotta pick the Super Bowl that we played against
the Tennessee Titans when Mike Jones made the tack on
the one yard line. You're talking about game changing moment.
That was life changing type moment. Man. Yeah, that's that's
to have that bonding. You two guys know what it's
like when you win something together like you will forever
(22:47):
be connected. I'm on a group check text with these
guys and I haven't played with them in over twenty years,
twenty five years almost, but we still have that connection.
And it was all because of that play that Mike
did doing his fundamentals, tackling him on the one yard
line that we with forever that said history, Wow.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
That's beamish. What about you, man, That's that's a big
one to follow.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Well, I will.
Speaker 6 (23:12):
Follow, and I'm gonna go back to the Super Bowl because, uh,
the guy that Gary thinks I'm crazy for fighting jumping
together in the Super Bowl were playing in Twoper Bowl
twenty six, playing against the Buffalo Bills. And you heard
about jumpinggather having this move called the forklift. Well, he
would lock his arms around the guy, lift him up
and walk him.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
To the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
Well, I guess he got tired of.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Walking him to the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
He threw the quarter the lineman and hit Jim Kelly
and knocked him out.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
And Jim was woozy. So when you're in this.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
Dude, I'm gonna but when you're when you're when you're
out there already losing it.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Then you lose your quarterback, you're not wearing the game.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
So we didn't.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
We didn't think they had a chance in hell of
beating us anyway.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
But when Jumpy decided to lunch an offensive lineman, launch
an offensive lineman at the quarterback and and knocked him out,
that changed the whole ball game right there. You know,
you see like that, You see defensive guys inside don't
get the love that it's supposed to get. But that
dude right there, I got a question for you.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Did you try to fight it before after that incident?
Speaker 6 (24:25):
This was a rookie that was in training camp, so
it was before because that made that That also made.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
To the story. He was clearly very mad.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
He hit me and I had to hit him back. Gary.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
That's when when I.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Tell Rick, I'll be like, because you know, I would
yell at people. I was this little guy, but I
would yell at people. But I was like, I ain't
messing with be match. I'm able to shut the hell up.
I'm not saying I said he's gonna fight Jumpy gathers.
It's like, I ain't got nothing to say to this
guy other than good job, job, again, Zach, good job,
but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Wow, game changing moment for me.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
I grew up a Minnesota Viking fan as a kid.
I was a Minnesota Viking fan, and we had a
chance to play them, and uh because the eighty six season,
and we had just lost against the Giants.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
And we came back and I had like hamstring. I
screwed up my hamstring.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
So Jerry Rome decided to pull me out of the
game for a second. And I remember Joe going like
him and Joe are fighting on the intercom, like they're
going back and forth, you know. And I heard Joe
say something like, well, he's the best receiver. We need
them in the game, you know. So I come in.
We're going overtime, right, So I'm back in the game,
(25:51):
and they throw me a little hitch route and I'm
able to give a little dip to the inside and
spin it up, take it about thirty yards up the field.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
We score a touchdown, right, and.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
Everybody just explodes, Like everybody runs onto the field. They're
pricking me up, you know, Like for me, that was
game changing for me. First of all, I got to
beat my childhood team, because at the end of the day,
my childhood team, so of course I wanted to crush
them when we played them, and they have my teammates
come around me and just pick me up, and for
me to be able to look at Jerry Rome and said,
(26:23):
don't take me out of the freaking game ever again.
And that felt good as well. But I mean, just
having your teammates showed that kind of love and us
went in the football game and overtime like that, and
the fans just going crazy that RFK was rocking for me.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
It truly let me felt like I had a.
Speaker 5 (26:40):
Came on, like you know, I'm part of the team now,
like I'm a pure asset of this team. And it
was just a great feeling for me. But it's not
like fighting jumping gathers though.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
I'm gonna tell you a career changing moment for me.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
We're playing against Minnesota.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
Gary's at getting the ball in the first half. Gary
walks in the locker room and he decides to have
a anybody heard John Thompson. John would always say, when
you're cursing, you're speaking in tongues. Well, Garrett started speaking
in tongues to coach Gibbs.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
And I'm like, okay, let me check this one out.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
And Gary goes to the second half and balls the
hell out and Coach Gills.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
A great game. Don't even talk to me like that.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
I'm like, so if you play well, you could say
stuff like that, because believe me, you remember that.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
No, I just with that at all.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Hey, y'all don't know the commanded fans that are here
right now, give it up for them because that stories
and memories like that's crazy, right, that was awesome.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Shoututs off producers and putting that together. That was that
was really really fly. And one thing we do because a.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Lot of y'all new here, we appreciate y'all being here
so much with out here at d C Prime doing
the game day pre We do this before every home
game and hopefully we continue to do this more and
more because I have a great time doing this with
you guys. But one thing we do to end the
show is we play a game called standing on business
right where I give the guys a scenario, a topic perhaps,
and they let me know if they standing on it
(28:16):
or they sitting this one out. So if they standing
on it, it means they think it's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
If they sit it out.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
It means they ain't try to put that on wax
just yet. So Gary, were gonna start with you this
first one of standing on business. Jaden Daniels will throw
for three hundred yards. Now, mind you, the only time
in his career he has thrown for three hundred plus
yards was last season against the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
So are you standing on that? Are you sitting that
one out?
Speaker 4 (28:42):
I'm looking at Caroline.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Producing.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
Caroline is telling me to stand on this, So I'm
standing on it. I'm doing the producer telling me that.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Gary, other than Carolina are amazing producer telling you what
to do. Why do you feel that Jaden is poised
for one of those just special games?
Speaker 1 (29:02):
We know he's a prime time player. This is a
prime time game.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Because Caroline told me to say it.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
That's all we need to know.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
She's threatened my life quite honestly.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Lies a big JD. Dale's fan, as we know, and
she loves her. Command is like, we're gonna move forward
to be Mitch all right, Jacorey Krossky Marrit will have
his second consecutive one hundred plus rushing yard game.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
My boy, dollar, Bill, you're standing on that.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
I will because Bill on had fourteen carries, had one
hundred and eleven yards. That was what six pointy nine yards?
Speaker 1 (29:36):
He leads the league in that.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
All right, when you look at what Bill does out there, man,
First of all, I just go back to his college.
His last year in college. He knew he wasn't playing
a game the NC double screw it up. But the
dude practice every day. He ran the offensive scout team
against the defense. The guy with that type of character,
that type of drive. Hell yeah, because he felt it
(29:58):
last week. And one thing about NF players, when you
feel that luster, you all you want to do is
get back there again. That offensive line also felthy too.
And I talked with who was it, Beadis and I said, man, Bill,
he said, bro, both of those players supposed to go inside,
and walking inside, he said, he made us look good.
He said the block, wasn't it? So if he can
(30:21):
get it done like that, I'm expecting them to go
for a hundred again.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
I be standing on that last one. So Money, you
get the game. Now. I know you're not always here
with us, but I know you're ready.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
I'm ready, Gary Beach and you can ask Carol, I.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yeah, don't look away because shes gonna bully you.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Its at the stage.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Commanders will have three plus sacks against the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Come on, man, you know I'm standing on business. I'm
standing on oh yeah, ten toes down man. The way
this the line is playing, especially at home. You look
at our two home games, they've been able to get
out there, both both quarterbacks that we played at home.
I think they build off last week's game, coming off
(31:05):
a five sac game against Justin Herbert and Chargers. And
I know that that Caleb Williams, he's only been sacked
once in the last two games. But it's just something
about our group. I feel like we'll be able to
get a big enough lead to where now they're more
drop back passing game as opposed to play action type
of game. So yeah, I'm standing on business. We're gonna
(31:25):
get three plus.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
I'm not surprised at all that these Hall of famers
right here standing on business.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
That's what they did on the field, and that's what
they do off the field. Y'all give it up for
these Hall of famers right here.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Yes, yes, yes, this has been our game day preview podcast.
We are here at DC Prime leading up to every
home game that might be on a Wednesday, might be
on a Thursday.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
We will make sure. Hey listen now, honestly, Gary caught it.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
We've been good luck doing these home games now, so
if we get another win, I feel like that's on wax,
that's Exton Stone. We are good luck, and our producer,
Caroline Suitor is good luck. Jason running the audio, it's
good luck, and our commanders fans are good Look, thank
y'all so much for pulling up on us. Make sure
we got these cards where y'all could get like some
autographs and things like that. So make sure you get
(32:11):
those cards. Was made by an amazing fan back there
with that amazing hat. And if you're not going to
the game, make sure you tune into Game Day Live.
Commanding the Game Day Live with myself, mister a To
and Na Saint Tana Moss and the Hall of Famer

Speaker 1 (32:55):

Northwest Stadium, pull the section two thirty two so you
can meet the miss, you can meet Tannam.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
I'll be there as well, and we have a really
good time with the post game. But let's pull up sometimes.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Now let's let's walk around like here the President there,
that's a whole crew. We got the whole crew that
maybe in gary'll pull up on us two. I know
Gary be having a good time in the sweets, but
maybe he'll pull up on the Section two thirty two
