More than this.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
You guys saw the clip.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
All I'm gonna say is there was a seat on
the planet next to me, no one, no one was
sitting in. Yeah, so don't think that we didn't want
him to come. There were there were circumstances.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah, I told I told the fans when they asked me,
like why y'all, ain.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Don't be putting his laundry.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I didn't, but I did. I told him.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
I said, I say, Fred, you know the bed was
a little better back at home. She's like, oh, I
thought you said that, because you know, I think we
said it on one to show that Fred won't show
up to work.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Was like, so you're really think he would come over
here and not show up.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
I said, well, I'm not saying that it was he
will show up, but I will say that he has
not shown up.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
A couple of times.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
At home, so at least just think him. I'm gonna
go and put it out there. If I was in
Spain for how many days ill were there?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Five?
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Six, two days gone?
Speaker 4 (02:57):
I'm telling you that now to days, one of them
in Barcelona, because I did visit there before, so I
was gonna go back for.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
A day trip. I would have made it back in time.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Probably who does a two hour trade trip.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Maybe a guy named Alfredo would have had a new job,
because every time I miss work, somebody else getting blessed
with a new job.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
So I just wanted to if all you guys saw
that Barsol a bunch of fans I got on there
last hopp, Where's friend?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Where's Fred?
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Just know we wanted Fred to be there. We wanted
it so badly to be there, But you can't, you
know what I mean, there's just some stuff.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
It happens, man, it happens. Man.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
I just want to get on Barnis Student and let
it out because I knew there was a great platform
for me to get on.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yall back. But what I'm saying it's not true though,
but I knew it. With Echo to Spain, thanks for
mentioning my name on I had to. I want to
get you know, I said, you know what some.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Perfect task backtracking now for me to last year.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Do you know what you did was wrong?
Speaker 5 (03:53):
It was, but he did the same thing he do
on these shows, tell lines all you do.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
But it felt so right.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
It felt so right.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
It felt so right to get on there and air
that laundry out.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
And then they was like, but but you could have
been like, hey man, you know I had some things.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
To come here.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
It sound it sounds better like blaming somebody.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Blame high and guess what everybody was like, Man, they wrong.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I know That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
You made up a lie.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
You got us all in trouble. But just know there
was a plane I had. I had twin beds in
my room. One says Fred, you're gonna be sleeping right there.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
You ain't fit in the twins and you was sick.
But I'm just saying there was one right there. It
was a plane seat there we all. I know they
were gonna make you my roommate because they could have
that he allowed.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
But I'm just saying, just so you know, we've seen Logan,
We've seen Logan in the lobby.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
What you're doing, I'm coming. You can giving Frids sometime
time alone.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
But just for all those fans out there, just wanted
to clear the air barcel.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
If you see this, Just knowude, we don't do stuff
by the by the roads over the.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I got it.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I respect that. I respect that, all right. So the
other thing we got to do sell tickets, right. You
guys have been great. Now, this season hasn't gone exactly
where we wanted to, but you guys have been super
supportive all right there. And the best way you can
support us is if you're gonna go to a game. Yeah,
bight tickets, Here a cure code.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
And I'm gonna show y'all some love.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Y'all showed up and showed out in Madrid, the Chance
showed up and showed out. I hope y'all enjoyed y'all trip.
I hope it rained set grilla from the.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Time y'all got there to the time y'all it rained.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
But I don't know about so but I did want
so Maami showed up to so Americans. Great job showing them,
showing Spain how we love our game of football.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
Yeah, it was kind of I didn't know how to
gauge the Miami crowd because I feel like a lot
of the home folks from Spain was kind of Dolphin fans.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
It's true.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
Yeah, it was because like I so, I did a rally,
did a tailgate right before the game, and a lot
of the fans showed up and I literally talked to
twenty five thirty fans that was from Spain.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
They had on dolphin stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
So when I got to the stadium, this see so
many people with Dolphins, I'm like, HMMU because well throughout
the week, I feel like we outnumbered them everywhere where
you went. You saw commanders, Jersey's commanders, uniform commanders entire period.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Got to the game, I was like, damn, I noticed
the home team.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
Yeah, so I'm kind of thinking being that they was
the home team, the home base like, hey, this is
the team to root for us since its home. Well, also,
I can't say I'm not saying that the Miami fans
didn't come from Miami too, because.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
It was Florida used to be a colony of Spain,
so it could be a connection.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
It's a little tenerous.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
I'm just saying, think about it.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
If you are overseas and you're gonna be a fan
of a team that week, that.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Police it's like four hundred years ago though, dude, all.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Right, So if I'm gonna have allegiance to anywhere in America,
it's gonna be to that place.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, but I don't root for like Manchester United because
from England, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
You should like you should like y'all forget about that.
That cultural couldn't like that's a cultural connection that they'd
be like you know what I'm.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
I mean, it's so many it's so many Hispanics there,
so and I know they're not from Spain, from different
other you know, spots, So you might have because I
got that connection be telling so much stuff sometimes I
don't know what.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
I don't know what's real or not. So I'm just
gonna have to fact.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
See then why you can't send y'all overseas, y'all come
back all boozes.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Well London was drinking his tea with his pinky drinking
that joke.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
I will say that was the most international Flutch version
I've seen him.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Man, he was he was on one, he was all one.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Sometimes you got Jason Ja we got Jason's fact checking.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yeah, long writer for the Universe of Miami.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yes, yes, okay, so over five hundred years ago.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
So I'm correct.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
So if that we're going away back the.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Crazy about it, the crazy about it, crazy thing about it.
I went to college University of Mind. We all know,
and I promise you the main role in front of
was one.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
And the school next door.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
To the elementary school that I taught to because I was,
you know, I went to school to be an educator.
The school that I taught and got my credits from
was ponstely On Elementary. So it's crazy that he it's
I'm a little tired of you, but.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Like no one was.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
I'm not disputing that it was founded by.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
He knew how you knew that. I learned it. I
read it, and think about it.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
If we went to Italy and half of the people
with New York Giants fans.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
You know you lived in New York.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
That's a little closer though in terms of like, no, but.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I get what he's saying. Do I get what he' saying?
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Yeah, And that's why I said I probably should have
you know, put that together, that Miami.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Is got people there.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
Yeah, yeah, Spanish influence our first language of Spanish now
down there, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (08:56):
So it really yeah, they took over.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
I thought that was more like Cuban.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
No, well that's Miami is read the floor.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
I'm just saying far as like, regardless of which one
it is, Cuban, Mexican, you know, Puerto Rican, whatever, it's
still the number one language. Now you going stores, you
need to know Spanish. So I'm not sure where they're
from how far.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
But see, y'all, y'all left the scholar at home. Didn't
take the scholar with you.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
No, we didn't leave anybody.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, we couldn't bring you somebody somebody chose we could.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
We couldn't bring you. It's different than leaving somebody.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
I drove up to the plane. I've seen Satan chuck
that what happened beating mitch Head was out the one.
I'm like, what going on man, they left my boy.
So I turned around, went on home.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I hope you guys know that's not true. That's not true.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
There's certain times where we're like living in smoot Land
with y'all.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Because I went to a Spanish restaurant in eighty three days.
I was with y'all, was with y'all in soul, body,
in mind, and this is what I hated. Y'all did
not take me out the text trade, the whole trip.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
So now we're not gonna exclude you.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
You should have because now Londony, go London. Oh what
time we need to be at the what's man? All
these Texans and what y'all doing? It just really it
just really scarred me in a way. It really scarred
me in a way.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
I'm like, you know, I was wondering why you were
so quiet on that. I know Fred's on here, Why
I ain't say nothing? Why I ain't saying nothing now?
One time and I'm like, I thought I was gonna
say something when we post a little thing on Instagram,
the little whole little.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Listen, I could not stop crying, like laughing, like that's
just my money ball.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
But London, London posted something on his Instagram about fred
Oh Trump me.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Everybody knows.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
They were pissed off that I reposted.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
The fans got on me like why would you repost that?
I'm like, what, damn? Do y'all know what we deal
with with this?
Speaker 4 (10:55):
It's all good, man. I'm just happy everybody got there
and back safe. That's all that mattered. But we got
a game to talk about.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
We do have a game and talk about it, so
let's talk about. This segment is titled What's happening? Okay,
and this is no excuses. We're just trying to diagnose
the situation and we're finding solutions. Okay, So let's start
with this defense. Let's start with the defense.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Coming into this game in Madrid, three of the four
worst performance in performances in past defense have been turned
in by Washington, Atlanta, Seattle, Detroit, Okay, following point zero
one three expected points added per play, meaning every seven
plays equals a point.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
So think about that.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
That's a shame, yeah, making them the ninth worst defense
since two thousand and two. Okay, the first NFL team
to lose four straight games by at least twenty one
points in twenty three years.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
So I read that to provide.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Some context I think we were talking about on this show.
We couldn't really say exactly what we wanted to say,
but it wasn't very good.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
For three weeks in a row, It's not.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
And run fits were bad, bay It coverage was bad,
tackling was bad, effort was bad bad, And so coming
into this game in Miami, it was kind of like.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Well, what what what should I speak?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Yeah, because well what do we do?
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Because we're coming off maybe three of the worst defensive
performances historically consecutively in NFL history. Right, So our guy
Dan takes over m H and again I gotta say this,
I feel bad for Joe what Junior, because I feel
like you got dealt kind of a funny hand with
all the injuries people banged up less than ideal, but
something needed to change. Dan takes over, He goes to Madrid.
(12:29):
They actually defense I thought played well. Let's start with
what we saw from Dan Quinn's led defense that led
to that performance of them playing.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Can we say this, no matter what job you're working at, there,
when your boss walks into room, you perk up and
production goes up. I don't care if you're working in Mickeydie.
I don't care if you're working in a fortune five hundred.
When the head man comes into room, everybody gets at attention,
effort goes up, everybody understands. And that's why I have
(13:01):
always said this, and I have stuck to my guns
on this. I hate when defensive coaches get jobs and
walk away from the defense offensive coordinator, I mean offensive
head coaches never do that ever, going to Ceo Mo,
they just this is what I do. I all plays
that won't change defensive coordination. I mean, Cordinay, they be like,
I'm just gonna I'm gonna run the whole thing. But
(13:24):
when you got your head coach in there, he's on
one side of the ball that that side of the
ball usually shines no matter what that coach does, even
in Baltimore, howboy's a special team. Got that special team
shines like that's his expertise. So when he come puts
his shad on Chris Ordon teammate. Now, I think with
(13:46):
this defense, he just got everybody at attention and say
we're gonna simplify and play fast.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
And that's what they did.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
They played a lot of on a lot of the
sames on and they played fast almost. I ain't gonna
say mistake free ball, but they played some great ball.
I just see people tackling alone. I told you a
long tacklers equal broke tackle, equal touchdown.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
I seen ants on bread and I enjoyed watching it.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
And let me tell y'all something because y'all got to
see it up close.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
But on that TV screen, Ken law Blood, pray for
that center and that God. Listen to me.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
He was tossing people out the club continuously. Them two
goal line stands had ninety nine written all over them.
So I watched from afar that defense shape up. I
ain't say they turned great, they shaped up.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
No, I like you.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
I like your insight on that, because that's the first
thing going into the game. We asked the question, will
it be a difference, you know what I mean with
the coach with dan Quinn taking over, And I'm like,
from production, you will hope so, but you know it's
the same bodies, And I'm like, so you can't tell
until we see it. But and then, just what Fred
is allude to, we all know as players, you don't
(15:00):
want the head coach to be able to point you out.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Now that his eyes on that specific you know or
or unit and.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Say, well, now I'm over here giving you the same
stuff that Joe Whittt was telling you, And now I
see why we where we're at because you're not paying,
you're not listening, you're not doing your job. So you know,
that's That's the first thing that came to mind with me, Like,
if I had to be in those shoes as those players,
even if I was doing my job.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
Would I even do more? Be more on point?
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Knowing that the head coach and now have all eyes
and all hands on deck when it comes to you know,
that side of the ball. So I knew it probably
gonna be a little it was gonna be a spark
over there. But to see them come out and play
have that kind of performance, that's what we needed. That
that performance alone gave us a chance to win. And
that's what I was seeing from the get go.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Hey, if we play, you know, with that kind of
competitive edge and complementary football.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
Then then then winning shouldn't be an option. You see
what I'm saying. We had plenty of times.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
We had chances to win this game. I feel like
we gave this game away, all right. Some mistakes happens
on special teams. Uh, But I thought outfense and defense
was solid to the core.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
I thought both sides of the ball was solid to
the core.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Yeah, let's tick on the defense for a second. And
I just want to say this about defense.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
It was like such a comprehensive change, like when you're
watching the All twenty two.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yeah, like the way people's eyes were working.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
They understood the coverages, they understood passing strength, they understood concept.
I mean the three linebackers. Man, that's the best I've
seen those dudes play maybe all year. Yeah, right, like McGee,
wagner luvu, like running through, getting downhill, being disruptive like
it was. It was such a comprehensive flip.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
And again like Fred saying, they played a lot of
Cover two Tampa two specifically, they did a.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Great job disguising it.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Played a little Cover three, little Cover six, and it
just they the guys just knew what to do.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah, they knew.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
You could tell that they wasn't thinking. Yeah, they simplified
a lot of stuff.
Speaker 5 (16:53):
Amplify yes, let it go out there and be able
to play fast.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
It's crazy, but it's crazy to me because I was
like they were a man blitzing team before.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
How many reps have they banked.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
With Tampa two or with Cover three or with Cover six,
And here it was just like there was a rep
of Cover two Tampa two where Reeves is a hook
player or the middle the middle run through player and
they're running dagger essentially, and his eyes he's carrying the vertical,
his eyes snapped the dig, he's breaking on the dig,
he forces to to turn the throw down. He checks
(17:23):
it down to the back. McGee's won on one in space,
makes the tackle and I just was like.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
That's death football. That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
And it was so different than what it's been in
the last three weeks. So again there's more zone, But
how did you get it all coached up in a week? Right?
The blitzer and when they brought them, Like, let's talk
about the sacks for a second.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah, those three sacks.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
In the game, all on third down crazy pressure on
one simulated pressure, Jonathan Jones makes the tackle. There's the
holding call in the drop eight situation on kin Law
where Vaughan gets the sack. And then there's the one
where number fifty five what's his name, defensive end?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Oh yeah, we're having ct.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
This is it right here.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
It's crazy. I just watched the game this morning and
I still can't call.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
So we're sore covering from Spain office.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
But he gets the sack and I thought, like, great calls,
the drop eight, great call with the similated pressure and
just executing at a very very high level.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
It was great to see, man.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Matter, that's what happened. When the teacher walks in the room.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
I mean, do you think that's the only thing.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
Well, I think it's one of them things where when
you simplify defense, think about let's talk about.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
I mean, Fred, we're talking about stuff that we haven't
shown all year, like I know it. But Cover two
is just Covered two, right, Like the disguise that they
ran on that simulated pressure. Yeah, it was gorgeous.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
No, no, he gonna make them cross they t's and
dot they I but he could think about it. Cover
two is easy to coach. It's easy to teach, it's
easy to go replicate. You can go down a bit
and they have done it. Think about this, Tempa, who
this is name? Do the told you we're gonna play
cover two one hundred percent of the time. You got
to beat me. And that's what coach went in that
mind frame, We don't care if they know what we
(19:00):
We're gonna play this so to the t that they're
gonna have to they're gonna have to earn every inch
and this being but don't break defense. And I think
that with his mentality, we're going to a couple of
runs on his own scheme.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
It's gonna break against this couple two.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
But if we can tackle them in the field, it's
that field shrinks in that red zone.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Couple two become almost something beatable.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Yeah, quarters, I mean, it was a couple of different zones,
but it was a.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Couple of different zones.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
And I think to me, you know most DB's if
I if I get fred as a ConA and I
bring him in here, and he was a man guy,
he should be able to play zone with no problem,
because you play man that's the hardest way that.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
That's the hardest thing to do.
Speaker 5 (19:39):
So I look at this defense as a whole, and
we were a man based defense that followed people around,
which we hated seeing our guys trailing every damn time
and they running these motions and these tastes, and so
if I have to say, nah, back off, that you
box that you do this, you do I need you,
and I need you playing high point in the linebacker.
To me, that should be that should be so simple
(20:00):
for these guys. It's almost like football one on one.
And this is what I This is how I learned
to play the game initially before I learned how to
do all this other stuff. So that's what I look
at it. As you know, I don't give me more.
Don't give me more. You can get more perplexed when
it comes to just the different schemes and the different
sets and what different areas that people got to pick
up and switch off to. But to me, if I
say we're gonna do this, we're gonna see the ball
(20:22):
a little morning, I want everybody to go to the ball,
Go get the ball.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
And that's what I saw.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
I saw everybody flying around to the ball. And I
think one of the commentator said it like when they
spoke to then, that's what he wanted. He wanted the team.
He wanted this defense to see the ball, not to
be running and you know, happening to not know what's
going on. But once they saw he need everybody at
the ball.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
And the number one thing and playing cover two is
disruption by the corners.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
If you don't.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Flatten the outside wide receivers out, that defense is beat.
I seen him run cover two early in the year,
and I seen them run covered two in Spain, and
it felt different.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
They was getting disruption.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
So what I'm saying it was it was like like
we've watched a lot of football.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
It was sharp. It was so sharp.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
The spacing was sharp, like you were talking about sometimes
it's it's three receivers, it's trips. Hey, we're gonna man
the backside. We're gonna box this over here. Everyone knew
what to do. That is something that was fundamentally sound.
I think that's one of the things.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
Probably Dan came in and you can almost since that
day like, look, we're gonna know this.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
We notice.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
I'd be damn if you're gonna sit here and not
do your job when I'm calling it. And I felt it.
I felt it coming in. That's what the first thing
popped in my head.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
If I'm a player, I don't want that, man, I'm
gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Maybe maybe that was it, because I don't know how
they got they got so detailed in a week.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
In a week, like I'm talking to also it was
a week away away from the bond.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
A little different. Now they get to say, you know what,
we don't care who playing, if it's first screen, third screen.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
We gotta do this together. And you know, nothing brings
us together like a trip, like we're.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Going on trip. That's why I'm always about training camp.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
I love my training camp trips when they was in Carlisle, Pennsylvania,
because we were forced for those thirty five days to
just be us.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
And I think the other thing Dan said on the
game plan last week is it helped them. He said
he felt that it helped them get their football right.
And what he meant by that was like like the
study like extra meetings. Hey, Fred, let's go talk about
this real quick. Let's hit this extra little session. Let's
you guys have.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
What you don't understand about this? Letting you know, so I.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Could tell Yeah, there's no family distractions, Yeah, none of that.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
It's just all and it's and it's a people I think,
forget we are grown people were responsibilities at home. You
know for that week, you had no home responsibility for
that week.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
It's just football in Spain, that's it. So you could
free up for.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
A minute, ain't no turning on American, he is being
ain't none of it.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
It was just football, football, football.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yeah, and I think so we talked a lot about
the coverage, but also like something I've been that's just
been really frustrating for me last couple weeks is the
run fits and the run fits were excellent. I mean
there's like talking to Fletch, like and I'm sure you
saw there's a couple that they could have fit better,
but you.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Get covered to you know you're gonna give up a
couple of those gashes. They tackled. This is what I liked.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
They tackled whale, and they tackled as a group, especially
on gold Land Like listen to me, they tackled on
I thought, I thought, what's the name had hurt.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
When he folded him up like a walle It was brutal.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
And then like on the watching the replay, like Bobby's
in the shot in the shot.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
Kept showing up, always showed he was he was trained
paying for real.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
The play before that, Jordan McGee has a great stop
on like the one inch line right Goldman has to
stop on for down, Like there just were so like
stacking good plays.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Man.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
It was great to see and then you know carpasco Weeks.
It's like you're watching them run stunts and line stunts,
Guys getting removed from gaps, guys getting play pushed, you know.
And a guy that I'm gonna shout out in a
good and a bad way here is kin Law there.
Sometimes Whe're like he makes the splash plays, but he
also gives up splash plays.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Yeah, and I thought, this is his This is the best.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Game I've seen a defensive tackle play here in Washington
since covering the team, like sitting double teams, throwing guys out,
releasing gaps, making he.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Had five tackles. Yeah, he had five tackles.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
There's a three technique you can Yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
So you got to take on doubles like you rarely
get a three technique.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
They make fast And you know, you brought this up
on the post game show tannem They were playing Miami,
but Miami had just beat the Bills.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
And Miami had three games in a row with an
offense went up and down the field.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Nobody was stopping him, and so like that is an
NFL offense. It's a dynamic offense.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
There.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
There's a lot of problems and for them to be
that locked in and play that like across the board man.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Like again, there's a couple of runs.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
There's a there's a misstackle, there's a dropped interception that
Mikey has.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Yes, he got to come down with it.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
But overall, I was just like it was it was
so different than what it was before. It's just like,
that's the thing that I'm again was like, logan, you're
so positive. I'm like, I was depressed listen the past
three weeks depressed, and then here it is and I'm like,
this is objectively good.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
It was refreshed, refreshing to see.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
So the other thing, because I know fans have asked
you about it, Jason putting on here is this is
another game where minus two and turnovers that zero turnovers.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Defensively, we on the field.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
And again that's the thing this defense really relies on
is when you don't have the horses, Yeah, gotta turn the.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Fet turn bottle over, and it gives your office this
short feel and they're stilling points and turn that bottle over.
And two, if you was gonna turn that bottle over,
that was a quarterback that you're gonna turn that bottle over.
We left some interceptions out there on the field. It's
hard to have a say with fumbles, but interceptions, I
think we left them on the field.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
I hate.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
I hate the simple fact that when you have them,
when you have layups, you don't come up with. There's
always something gonna end, some bad gonna happen on the
bad don't happen. So it was like when we missed
that that first when Mike he missed the first one,
I'm like, oh, he might have. He might have jumped
too early. It was coming down clutched up there, just
to trying to hang in the hanging air a little longer.
(26:10):
But man, you got to come up big with plays
like that because it always come up to bite you.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
Man.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
And I think if you look at that drive, I
believe they scored that drive.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
I believe they still scored that drive. Man. If you
look at just how close the game was, man, it
was just like.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
And I also would argue that they did get two
turnovers because they got two turnovers on downs in the
red zone at the goal, which we haven't seen that
from this team.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah, technically the turnover, but to.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Me this that the statistic is still important to look. Yeah,
because like, even though those are turnovers, you're getting the
backed up, tough field position you're gonna punt. Yeah, I
mean it's it's a tough spot to be in obviously.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
So I think that's something again to keep.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
An eye on.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
But overall, I mean, we're gonna talk about the offense
here in a second and the special teams, and I
think there's some things, big, big issues there that we
can talk about. But overall, I think this is much improved.
It gives me a little bit of optimism heading into
the bye week because I'm like, if they can get
this much improvement in a week, can they get even
more coming into this?
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Win a week off and get a little healthier, you
get a couple of soldiers back.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
And again, I'm a fan of this team as much
as anybody, and I've been disappointed. Now all of a sudden,
I got a little pep my step a little bit
watching this, saying like I ain't gonna.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
Love but nothing that tripe you.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
I looked at this dude and he's like, you know,
the heaven.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Everybody, Everyone listen. I've been here since what ten o'clock
this morning?
Speaker 4 (27:36):

can just walk away.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
I've been in America.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
Yeah, I understand if I need to tote the show.
I can tote the show. I can tote the pee, y'all.
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (27:58):

face and bills for you is the offense the defense's
break one. So Fred, why don't you read our new
read newest read Big Bear AI an tanna you read

Speaker 2 (28:17):

Speaker 1 (29:54):
I will say it sounded like that. You know it
wasn't Tenna's best effort.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
Hey Tanners looked tire, I ti am, but I can
still He'll make it happen.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah, so I think you just might have won that
just because technicality. You got to take them where you
can get them. I just like, I let the people
speak for me.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Man. I just got mad when y'all said Lennon did
such a good job.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
He killed it.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
You know, he hit a little apple juice before he started.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Maybe that was the.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Relaxed We might need to get alcohouse, But we do
got what we have. Yeah to be taking it, Nah,
I think they had left us.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
No, I don't believe us.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
They did no free sponsorship, so so we need to
stop talking about it.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Here we go, come back to us.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Okay, let's talk about the offense. Real quick offense and
special teams. They kind of go together.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
I felt like ourfense did a good job. I'm sorry
that running game. This is probably the best running game
has looked in the last five weeks.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
I agree with that.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Yeah, and Chris Rodriguez, let me give you your props,
young man.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
He ran angry.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
He ran like a guy that's fighting for every ripe.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
He runs so hard, he.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Rans listen so hard. I want to get the props
to that offensive line. I thought they.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Did a good job.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
And we had some receivers show up in this game
that people thought weren't gonna bait.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
I mean, I don't even play at the thoughts.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah, no, I think that's a great point, and I'll
let you talk here in a second, Tenna. But like
I love the schematic element, I love the mentality. And
there was a play that I remember vividly. It was
in the low red zone, going into the far section
of the field. It's covered two Mario Checksli run at
the line of scrimmage. He runs like a little Wanda,
so just away from the tight end.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
And Chris Rodriguez, Yeah, tattoos that middle linebacker so hard.
I was like, and I was standing on the sideline,
so you can like one of those ones you feel,
you're like, oh, I don't want to Yeah.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
I don want none of it.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
I don't want know that.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yeah, And I just was like that over the course
of a game, whereas he has a psychological impact, Yeah,
and you can feel that offensive lineman. They're starting to
get healthy and moving people off the spot.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
You know Brandon Coleman playing that big tight end and
so yeah, yeah, put in some work.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
So I don't know, man like that.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Again, it's Miami or defense has been all up and
down there.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Cliff was in his bag.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
The different personnels the way to find play action chunks.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
It just was nice to see. Yeah, I love the
way we approached the game.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
I think initially out the gate, you saw the tempo,
you saw us trying to, you know, emphasize the run game,
and you saw us take those shots when we needed to.
I think it's always hard to judge e gauge if
it's Cliff calling it or if it's the way Mariota
running it, because I feel like he has a calmness
(32:35):
to when he's back there, bro, Like the game is
just like it's like it's in his hands.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
I've been there.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Like it's just like the rhythm like they was in
an uptempo pace like a Harry Up style offense. But
it wasn't Harry Up. It was just like methodically driven,
like you know what I mean. And when we didn't score,
it was because we shot ourselves on Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
That's been the ongoing thing going.
Speaker 5 (32:58):
I'm talking about if you look at the two key
situations in that game where we could have probably put
up points, six points instead of three, we had a penalty, Yeah,
you know what I mean. And so it's like, with
all that being said, as good as we drove the
ball as good as we ran the ball, those guys
blocked up front. I mean, Cliff called and he had
to call the plays all as good as everybody made
the play.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
When when the play was given, we would.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
Have a lapse and that's whole your setback and boom
behind the change change. And that's one of the things
I feel like when you when when you look at
our game and just knowing what we had with our kicker.
And don't get me wrong, but he did this. He
did his best all year. He gave us some chances
to win a lot of games this year. And unfortunately,
you kind of dealt that blow when you missed too,
because if you miss one, it's almost no giving chance
(33:44):
for you to go out there.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
And be be the be the winner of that game.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
But he missed two, and he missed two and missed
one and a critical time of the game.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Yeah, and that's what it was.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
But I felt like this offense up and dial the field.
Did they complete every drive? No, they did not complete
every drive, But resistance. I didn't see much resistance from
that Dolphins defense father stopping them. Like you said that
the plan that we have coming into the game, the
execution that they went out there and executed. And the
(34:13):
plays that were made by the Chris Rock Reganzes of
the world and the other guy, the Deebo selling that
played to Debo that screen. Yeah, that's that's play calling.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
One on one, my play call is better than yours.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
I will say this though, for us to be as
efficient offensively and not take that many shots, that's the
only thing that bothered me a little bit. And I
want to see more shots on the outside. You gotta
I gotta got up because I'm like now talking about
to ten. You're either gonna come down with it, We're
gonna get a PI. That's how this game is going out.
If you're in tight coverage, if you got a man
tight coverage, you breathe on them wrong, they're gonna throw
(34:49):
the flags. So out of love to see us take
a couple more shots, but with that being said, like
I said, with that being said, to see us still
be effective offensively without doing so and be able to go,
you know, score for score with that team, knowing that
they just came off a high beating Buffalo, and the
way they ran up and down the field on Buffalo,
it gives you those signs of like, okay, do I
(35:10):
gauge this team as being pretty productive or pretty good
even despite all these these guys.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
That will sit down or can I just say it's.
Speaker 5 (35:18):
A Miami team that one day there they're pro foot
just the next day they are, you know, this regular
Miami team. So I don't know, but like I said,
I like, I like what I saw offensively special teams
wise uh and defensively special team where I we just
came into those kicks and came.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Came in snow kick and came dropped their punt.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
I thought he came in hot on the punt, Sammy Steel,
because he got great hands, he can catch.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
I just thought I think he came in and it
was like the uh.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
The gunner in the blocker was right in his face too,
and I felt what he what he was thinking, because
in his head, he's like, I don't want to let
this ball hit the ground and bounce.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
So I know what he's thinking in his head.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
But I tell you this, being a being a guy
that caught a lot of punts in this league in college,
especially if I'm thrust in that situation at that moment
and haven't been catching them in the game, and that's
now is a critical point of game where all we
got to do is.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Get the ball.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Yeah, I would have been out. I'm gonna either go
up to fair catch it, yeah, or I'm gonna say
if I'm gonna come in too hot and this ball
might fall knife down at the last minute, on me,
let me Peter, everybody get him back and let's fight
to see the next down. You see what I'm saying,
put my offense out there, risk risk us losing that
game offensively or not me putting ourselves in a situation
(36:37):
where I'm losing.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
I'm putting us in a bad sit because I missed
the ball.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
And that's experience. You know, you did that for thirteen
years in the NFLUS college plus college. And I look
at it again, Everyone's like, well, why was Mikey back there?
Why was Mikey back there? I had a bunch of
people doing.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Who else is going to be back?
Speaker 2 (36:52):
So I'll tell you this.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
The guy that's been the backup punt returner since training
camp is Mikey saying, now, doing it in practice is
different than doing it in again, right, because like, those
are the types of decisions that need to be made right.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
That level of.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Experience by the decision to know.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
And again, like people think, oh, punt return, I want
a dynamic athlete back there.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
I want a good decision maker back Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
Right.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
And so that's one thing about Jayleen Lane that he's
done a great job. I think he's made good decisions
about whinny ketchin a fair catch. And when you don't
have those reps and it's a big moment and you're
running to the football, a more experienced person.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Would get away from hey, fair catcher.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Peter, Peter, Peter, everyone get away and we'll live to
fight another day.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
Why we grew up on this and it's been there
way since I've been in elementary punt returning to yelling.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Peter what some people do? Y'all know? Something given?
Speaker 5 (37:37):
Somebody poison some people because because be miscalled it something else.
But I know I was told Peter. I was talk Peter.
Peter was like, get out of when Peter Smith though.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
High school college, I was talking Peter, and I was like,
what if I got a teammate named.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
Peter, They're gonna get out of the way.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Yeah, Like, Peter gonna be like what you talking about? Like,
So I have always wanted in my football brain, like
where that came from. Where did that come from? And
why not? Just yeah, get out the way.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
That's great.
Speaker 5 (38:08):
That is easy because when they see you weight in
your arms once they already you know that Peter.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Is coming people, ball is coming. Ball.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
But that's uh, that's a good I'm actually that's a
legit goate question.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
I think we need to go ask coach if you
know where did Peter.
Speaker 5 (38:25):
It was told to me too by I think Denny
was the one who mentioned this, told us you know
the origin behind that whole really yeah, I think I
think Denny Smith told us.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
So that's what I mean.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
That's why Mikey's back there getting more reps, more decision making.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
He's a football player.
Speaker 5 (38:38):
Fans always got questions about everything that happens on the
football quarter.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
Trust me.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
One of the things about this game, man, like even
the situation we we just went past or dealt with
with the whole Jayden thing, like bro.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Like, it's weird football players.
Speaker 5 (38:54):
Things happen, yes, and there's no rhyme or reason to
why it happened at that time.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
It just does.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
And that's the price you pay for playing this game.
I've seen worse happen to players, So when we're talking
about right now is the whole you know, point of
you know, Mikey being thrown into that situation. He's the backup,
just like when we would have had to have my man,
uh Johnson go on there.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
And be the backup for Mario Marry or when he
went down.
Speaker 5 (39:20):
So what if he went out there and something would
have happened while he was on the underhand.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
He's the backup.
Speaker 5 (39:26):
So you have to deal with and live with whatever
decisions being made because we paid.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
To do to Weigmans and Yale Peter in the fruit section,
and I want to see how many people get out.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
The way, dude.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
You know, it's funny like I would just get out
by default.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
I'll be at the high school practice and the Peter
and I'll just start.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
I have been at high school games and hurt somebody.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
Yeah, Peter, I'm in the stand.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Man.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
I think I should just go to like a lot
of retired football players and.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
Peter to see that boat on.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Goodness and then just to kind of put a bow
on the offense real quick. I agree with Tanna. I
think that's one of the things you're feeling when you're
watching the game is Cliff's like doing a he's just
been in a This game is specifically great job, staying
on schedule, finding play action chunks. But the big explosive
plays down the field. I mean, when you don't have
the horses, they're just harder to come back.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
I know, but that's when you get the long run
from Mario to the long run from Chris rod Rigan.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
So he's marrier effected in different ways.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
And then there's the explosive to zach Ertz, the explosive
to Debo, like there.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
Are explosives, was explosive. It was just wasn't horizontal vertical.
It wasn't the vertical explosive. It was horizontal. I wanted
the vertical explosive attempt because, like I said, sometimes fifty
fifty balls you can ree the world.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
This is the world.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
And so the other thing I'd say too, just in
terms ofs, like you guys are talking like the offense
did really well.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
They always score thirteen points.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
That is true, and that's where Fred said, like they
got to be a little bit better in the red zone.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
We met in the rid zone, but five is getting
to the rid zone. They had no problem with getting
to the red and.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
I hate to do this because I always like coaches
would do this. I mean I do this at the
high school level too. It's like, so you miss on
a fourth and two, okay, which is Zach's made actually
play with Outen. Yeah, like he's that's like Zach's play, right,
So there's seven points right there. And then you say, oh, well,
fourth and two, if you don't muff the punt, you
get the ball at the fifty yard line, he's probably
(41:32):
gonna at least three okay. And so then you miss
two field goals, and so that I'm just saying touchdown,
two field goals, that's thirteen points. What's thirteen plus thirteen
that's twenty six And all of a sudden you're kind
of like, that's not that bad of a day. Yeah,
it's more reflective about the offense actually did. But again
it comes back to when the margin for air for
this team is so small. Yeah, every mistake is magnified.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
Like highlighted.
Speaker 5 (41:57):
You ever had the highlight to go across that own
a couple of words that you you don't know the
meaning of. That's how it is when you're playing this
game and you don't do something, well, it's highlighted more
than you see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
So because even in that sequence, right the fourth and
til you miss it, Okay, you're gonna get the ball back.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
You muff the punt. Oh that's terrible.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Then you go down, you get a fourth down stop
by the defense, Oh, great job. And you go down
driving a field goal range you missed the field goal
like point point right right. It's just a tough It's
just tough. And so as hopefully they're able to get this.
It's they're playing a better brand of football. Now hopefully
they're able to continue to do that as they go.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
I will I will say this too because I know
the fan's gonna bring it up, because I had a
couple of them ask me, I would have liked to
see Rodriguez a little more in the second half running.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
The ball to it. I was.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
I was scratching my head because I understand you getting
other guy's touches, but man, when somebody's hot, he's hot,
like going then the way the ball was moving when
he touched it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
Don't get me wrong.
Speaker 5 (42:53):
I love the change up when you get twenty two
back the bills. Great for a change up man. Matt Nichols,
he's just so solid. Man, He's he's Ekoa all over.
When it comes to that passing game, he's.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
Been ecola esque.
Speaker 5 (43:07):
Yeah, you know when it comes to those third I mean,
at one point I thought he was just gonna get
the ball and get something out of it and get down.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
He got the first down.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
No, no, custantly, so he shows us that he's he
has to touch that rock in the passing you know game, Yeah,
or even in the backfield just getting him a handoff.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
I feel like they both can do it.
Speaker 5 (43:25):
But man, we can't stop the train when the train
is going, Like we stopped the train in the second half,
and I'm like, maybe we don't take that fourth in
and one and fourth and two to to my man,
just hand it out, handed off to thirty six and
let him do his thing. So I'm gonna say that
because I know the fans probably want to hear.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
It's a It's a great point because at the same thought,
and I know he's got a shoulder thing, so I
just wonder how much could he take.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
I wonder if they're.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Trying to kind of keep you know, and when you
look at crosskey merrit Historically he's been much better in
the second half, so I just kind of wonder if
they're waiting percentage there.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
I switch up is always you know, all.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
Right, let's get to break to let's pay some bills.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Bill.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
Who wants to read West Virginia Tourism?
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Who I got West Virginia?
Speaker 2 (44:16):
I gotta read the Army one right?
Speaker 3 (44:18):
All right? Team y'all too slow, listen up.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
The countdown is on for the ultimate fall showdown in
West Virginia. Lee's are switching jerseys from green to gold.
Speaker 3 (44:31):
Ready to light up the hillside.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
I am.
Speaker 5 (44:34):
If you want the best seat in the house for
the end of the season, spectacler, it's time to hit
the country roads and make your move to West Virginia
for some serious leaf people. Don't drop the ball on
this one.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
You hit me, knock it.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
That was pretty good.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
Let In.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
That was good, man, that was really good.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
How do you feel when you switch to Geico and
save on your car insurance? It's like finding a parking
spot in front of a busy outdoor cafe where you
meet some old friends from college Mississippi State and you're
about the parallel park into that oh so tight spot.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
Let me.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
And then everyone in the cafe stops to watch and
you nel it in one try like the parallel parking
ball of French Moody is nobody clapped, but you know
they really wanted to. Yep, switching and saving with Goico
feels just like that.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Get more, we got colored, you know that one.
Speaker 5 (45:40):
Let me let me get on the fans side and
give you some love.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
That was really good.
Speaker 3 (45:46):
All right?
Speaker 1 (45:47):
So now we got bye week. State of the season. Yeah, okay,
so we're gonna talk about it. It's like, what is the
reality of this moment for the TV? Because I think
I'm relatively optimistic. I was very sad before. I'm relatively optimistic.
What can we expect coming out of the bay fight?
Speaker 3 (46:07):
Okay, you gotta fight.
Speaker 5 (46:09):
I mean, look, man, I'm not sure how many times
you've been in the situation, but I've been in the
whole bunch of I've been. Yeah, we've been here. So
we all played together, so then we all had the
same It's nothing else to do but to go out
there to lay the game, you know, how to play man?
Like we don't. We don't. We don't go into the
game knowing the outcome. You know, you. You prepare to
(46:31):
win the game.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Every game.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
I heard my old ball coach say this when I
was with the Jets. We played to win the game.
It don't matter who's up at quarterback, It don't matter
who's been down on either side. We have to go
out there and put our best efforts out there. And
that's why I say, at the end of the day,
you can say what you want to say. You can
scrap it as a fan, you can scrap it as
a season ticket holder, you can scrap it as your hopes.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Is shame it.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
Didn't happen what you wanted to happen. But as players,
we can't quit. We don't tank in football. Yeah, we
don't say we got to lose these games to get nowhere.
It don't happen. Then with, we have to finish the
game's grown because guess what, it could be our jobs
on the line, and it could be somebody else in
this them, this damn locker room, putting them cleats on
playing opposition.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
So we gotta fight the other thing again, is this
a likely scenario? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
But you got the Giants, Yeah, got the Cowboys, got
Philly twice.
Speaker 4 (47:22):
Yeah, don't play football in you and this situation, this
is what you say, w W B.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
D and that what would the Browns fans? Browns fan?
I buy a Browns fans? You know why?
Speaker 2 (47:41):
You yeah?
Speaker 4 (47:43):
Because what would a brown fan do? And I want
to know because they never shy away?
Speaker 2 (47:51):
Because this is the dumb question.
Speaker 3 (47:52):
I tell you what Brown fans. They put on bags.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
The team's not mathematically eliminated.
Speaker 5 (48:00):
I just think the fans got they already starting to you.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
You know when it got fans starting to staking your
wife like, you know what, you didn't take that outside
it take it out and you call that kid, J
take that bag out of here. But I did think
of one of them things where let us heal doing
this bye week.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
This was gonna be my point.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
It's like, if you get healthy, Okay, this is this
is the picture I'm gonna paint coming out of bye week.
The defense is playing better, Will Harris comes back? Yeah, okay,
then you get Terry back, you get Jad back. Right,
the offensive line is playing.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
Better, Cosmy has got his Sea League trailing.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Burke's is playing better.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Right back from the fan, all of a sudden, you say, okay,
we've got a little vertical verticality of the offense. We've
got some playmakers on the game, and the defense has
got kind of a me.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
The identity. I don't know, special team.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
Just give me like you are.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
We could put like this. It ain't nobody on the
schedule we can't beat. I just think this, this cloud
has been over us, and I think that's what the fans.
All they see is put like this. The weather man
is a liar. It's no difference and partly cloudy and
partly sunny.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
It's how you put it. If I tell you twnis
point of sunny.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
Let's get out, Let's get out today, You'll be like, yeah,
he partly Sunday, let's get out.
Speaker 3 (49:24):
That's no different than parly. No, I feel you, but
that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (49:30):
Like I'm speaking from the standpoint of hearing the fans
talk to me and like be up closing person. Because
it's like you said, how the team bonded this trip.
I bonded with a lot of fans. I was able
to see them daily, not.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
This fan rally.
Speaker 3 (49:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
I had to basically shut down an area of the
bar because Tannel was there talking to fans.
Speaker 2 (49:46):
Man, it was crazy here.
Speaker 4 (49:48):
Man, other people also like me and Tanner, we ain't
never had security going. We ain't never been one of
those guys. You put us in a place and that's
what it's gonna be. We're gonna have a good time,
see you. You don't like the livations the floor like
San Taylor, like the livation called the livations.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
You don't like that the floor we do, Yeah, man,
livation was flowing.
Speaker 5 (50:12):
Nah, but that's really I mean, I just got a
chance to really like you know, you know, we was
out there just talking man, and I hear him, I
feel them because we didn't expect it either, you know.
But at the same time, like you never you're never
out until his out. Yeah, it's never done until it's
like today, pencil you down as check this one off. Yeah,
there's no more they can do after this. And even
with that being said, even then, you as a player,
(50:35):
you got to go out there and play. You ain't
trying to put no bad feelm out there. And I
remember the game like it was yesterday. Probably my worst
performance ever as a football player. But we played our
last game of the season in New York and it.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Was like slut. I don't know what you say. You
was playing that game.
Speaker 5 (50:54):
It was twenty thirteen or twelve thirteen, because we twelve.
We went to the playoffs, and like I don't saying
them names. A few people say they done, and I'm like,
I'll be down to be done right now. I'm gonna
go out here one catching no balls, but they was coming.
I'm damnarre trying to catch on my ear because it's
(51:14):
like the win and I'm like, at the end of
the day, man, I'm fin to this. Give my best
effort I can give and finish the game.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
And I went home.
Speaker 5 (51:24):
I was pissed off because I'm like, first of all, quarterback,
I don't know how to take something off in this condition.
Now that he second the ball, I hate to lose,
especially in New York, your third. That's what I told myself, man,
when they cut that film on when the ball won't coming,
I was out there blocking. I was out there running
my rouse. I was out there giving us a chance
to win. And that's all you can do. Bro, as
(51:45):
a player, do your job like I hate it, like
I bring this up all the time. If your job
is to give me three catchups because I asked for
them at the register, give me three ketchups.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
They don't do it that McDonald's. That's what I'm saying.
You have to ask.
Speaker 5 (52:01):
So if you asked me, is anything else I can
help you with? And I have three ketchups? Please, and
then I don't get none. You ain't do your job.
I don't care what you put in the bag. You
didn't do your job to the to the fulfillment of
your job and making sure that the customer was right.
So as a football player, being that I'm paid to
go out there and play a game that I would
(52:21):
play for free, Yeah, do your job. Hey listen, I
just left mcdiale's and you did not left mcdiale's. That
you didn't come from Queens, New York mcdiale's, and they
will not give you ketch up. And I think they
told this if they.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
Don't ask you for ketchup. So I will tell you this.
I will tell you this.
Speaker 5 (52:43):
The one thing I did find out about Spain McDonald's
and all the way to spin, I want to make
these Spain.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
I had good. It was good, it was great.
Speaker 5 (52:53):
Some people say it's like better than the way better,
really way better me this grill. So I asked for
a ketchup and a guy said that we pay. We
charge you for that in Europe. Are you willing to pay?
Speaker 3 (53:04):
I'm like, man, yeah, I asked, catch up I want?
So he ended up giving me two ketchups and he
charged how much was it? How many pay? It was
a couple of cents? Man, It wasn't that much. It
was in Spain. This guy food, you know with Mexico.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
Because if we were to ask me, yeah, you still
want these two ketchups because they cous more, I'd be.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
Like, how much what you're doing?
Speaker 5 (53:36):
No?
Speaker 3 (53:37):
But I will tell you this.
Speaker 5 (53:37):
I was laughing because the guy almost asked us if
people don't pay.
Speaker 3 (53:41):
Because they charged. I'm like, look, bro, bro, we're from
We're gonna pay for it. We want to.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
No, man, that's all to it though, brother that it
ain't nothing else to do, man but just play football.
And I think with what we've seen in Spain, this
is something that they all can hang they had on
the field. This is who we can be. We go
out there and play football, whether we win, lose a draw,
this is who we can be. So that's go Auham
and putting this kind of air for now.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
I think that's the main point right. Obviously people getting
healthy is important, you know this, But like they made
something in Spain, right, and it's like we can build up.
We can be the first brick. Yeah, Okay, it's been
rough for a couple of weeks. We got a brick down.
Now that we build off of that, and I think
that's That's the thing I would say coming out of
the bye week that they need to do most is
say what how did we get to that point. Let's
(54:23):
reinforce the good stuff. Let's get rid of some of
the bad stuff. Yeah, they already got rid of the kicker.
Really sorry today, that was tough.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
It's always we out and got training. It vibe before
we know this business.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
It's tough, but I just you know, it's you know,
he's a human being.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
So yeah, most definitely, man, but it's have a mood
in that.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
If you can build off of that thin we got
a shot and hopefully the guys will play hard for
the rest of the season. All right, now it's time
for some reads. Hell yeah, hell now, brought to you
by the US Army. Be tested, but not just on paper.
Be strong and more than muscle, Be courageous and supported
by a mighty team yall, you can be visit go
(55:02):
Army dot com to learn more.
Speaker 3 (55:04):
That's great by your bow coach. Thanks. You ain't think
about going to u C. L A and coaches you
my mindt.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Them going a little bit.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
It seems like a tough out.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
You shall say, y'all ain't playing at the Rose Bowl
no more.
Speaker 2 (55:14):
Yeah, it's kind of a bummer, man.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
I like y have three fans in there, that is true.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
But like the the tail getting outside fred California tail.
What they got they got ve It's it's on a
golf course, and so like there's dudes playing like straight
up tackle football. It's it's just a good vibe. They're
gonna do it down. They're gonna go down to the
Ram Stadium, so fi funny. Yeah, but it's like, you know,
you can't play tackle football on concrete. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
All I'm saying is it's to be a bitter experience
for the students. So funny.
Speaker 5 (55:44):
Yes, you better go down there and and and go
down there with less than wallet. Boy, it was it
was the trenches we rode through. That streets is a
tough area in the airport when you gotta you gotta
earn your right.
Speaker 3 (55:56):
I'm saying, you see Lao. Yeah, the people are gonna
be like, oh yeah they are them the rich skis.
Yeah they ain't.
Speaker 5 (56:05):
I can't lie to them. Both of them got a
lot of money. Hey, you see there's a public school.
Yeah it's a public school, but it's a hard public
school to get in as well.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
It is hard.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
Yeah, doesn't mean they got a lot of money. Usc now, no,
you does. They got it does exactly right. But you
I thought you see la had a little dust. They
don't look at their jerseys. Have you ever seen more
than ten thousand people that you see it?
Speaker 2 (56:35):
There's always more than ten thousand.
Speaker 3 (56:36):
Two thousand and three people.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
But the problem with the rose balls that holds like
one hundred and five, So it looks like it's nobody.
Speaker 3 (56:43):
Like I have watched the game come when Freddy Mitchell
was there.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
I used to watch Freddy and that like, nobody's in there, nobody.
But what's crazyest there is probably seventy thousand people in there.
It just to fill the rose You gotta be.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
Yeah, I think you're gonna feel so fine. That's a
big state so far.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
It's like I think it's it's like sixty fifty five
sixty somethings.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
It so probably, yeah, I do. People in California got
too much to do, that is true.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
People like, why is your football team so about?
Speaker 1 (57:13):
I'm like, man, you could go skiing, you could go
to the beach, you could go see a movie, go
to Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
I can go to San Diego, Gore, wherever.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
You want, and it's all there for you. And so
football moves down the priority list.
Speaker 3 (57:24):
And it's the West coast they don't love football like
the South and the East Coast.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
It is true. I will say, like.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
Love us A football. I mean you USC football, I
can get love. Yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
I mean like there's times where UCLA is killing it.
Like there's a ton of people at the games and
it's awesome, but you gotta win. You're not coming winning
them the USC games. The Trojan game be different, the
sideline be star studied. Like you got a manoop, that's
all you need on the side.
Speaker 3 (57:50):
All right, So hell yeah, hell go to Spain. Hell
now you didn't. You didn't go.
Speaker 2 (57:59):
I did, But it was in our fault. It wasn't
our fault.
Speaker 4 (58:02):
Friend talking about you live by the Hell yeah, that's
our first one in fred lie about why you did
go to Spain?
Speaker 2 (58:09):
Hell yeah, hell yeah? Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
All right, So first one is, well, will we get
better the commanders? You know we're going to get better pros,
but will the Commanders get better? After the bye week?
Speaker 4 (58:23):
You're getting healthy, so you're getting better when you're getting
your first first screen guys back, your team gets better
like off of talent, just alone, off of health alone,
even if some guys that still been playing through injuries
they get a little bit healthy.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
Emotionally you get healthy.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
It gives the coaches time to go and self check
and say what can I do better to make this
team better? So, yes, you can get better at this
by especially now that we ain't got to buy in
week two. We got to buy right now. It us
see through the weeds a little bit.
Speaker 5 (58:53):
Yeah, I would like to say yeah we will, but
I don't know how many guys be getting back. That's
what I want to still say yeah, because I don't
want to. I don't want to be the stickler to
say no.
Speaker 3 (59:02):
So it could be three guys. Hell yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:04):
I just feel like this this is a point where
you get a chance to reflect, reboot, you know, what
I mean, and all those guys are gonna probably have
the opportunity to say. Look, like I said before, that
game was a very meaningful game in Spain for them
to bond that same kind of brotherhood that they've been talking.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
I think that was like one of the times they
needed to do it the most.
Speaker 5 (59:24):
Come together, let's go out here, that's kind of if
we all know each other, let's get annoy each other
a little more, because we got to stretch of.
Speaker 3 (59:30):
Games where we can we can make it happen.
Speaker 5 (59:32):
And so I would like to say, yeah, because of
that fact, more so than the guys getting healthier.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
Yeah, I think I'm gonna say hell yeah, I think
they they showed they put that first stone down.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
Yeah, I think they're going to build off it. Yeah,
So that's what I'm hoping for. All right.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
Just reminder brought you by the US Army. They say
your work defines who you are Monday through Friday nine
to five, your clocking end. But what happens on the weekend,
what happens to your time?
Speaker 3 (59:56):
Fred I be chilling.
Speaker 1 (59:57):
You could take it easy, or you could use that
time to yet better like Santana does. Right in the
US Army we think differently. Your time should be used
to improve the skills you do have to learn something
you don't, to push yourself in new ways, because it's
those days that truly define who you are. That's how
you make progress. That's how you make an impact on
the world around you. It's your time. How you spend
(01:00:18):
it is up to you. It's your time.
Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
The US Army, I wonder with my name in the head,
I mean where they take o forty old man.
Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
They would take you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
I don't know what you do.
Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
I don't know if you'd make it in.
Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
I'm gonna be a marine, yes, okay, tell you you're not.
You're that around.
Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
Set sergeants, smooth, stay smoot, here we go. All right,
I stay here protecting America while y'all went pointed on
foreign sa I was over here protecting America.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
That yeah, that's what I was doing. She would take you,
protecting the American bars. Santa Fe got drunk American for you?
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
What for you?
Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
We got your d.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Okay, all right? Has the defense tour in the corner?
Hell yeah, hell no?
Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
When you say turned the corner, No, the defense have
been awakened. Okay, I say that they have been awakened.
They coach knocked on the door, say I'm coming in.
Sit down, we gotta talk now, we gotta we got
you heard that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
I heard that numerous time.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
They said that to you when you were gonna go suspain.
Speaker 6 (01:01:49):
Talking, y'all are gonna let that rad? Hey we got
so Tanna. Tanna has always got your back, you know,
and you never have a band. I always have a
I'll say this to you. You just you had nobody's back.
You're not even you didn't even pretend you if you
put that thing reverse.
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
So this is the result.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
I've just been over and over by a busy Listen,
I will back that bust up. Were smooth with the head. Okay,
back there.
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Hey listen, I'm just here. I'm the voice of honesty
voice voiced you hear me. Co's move on before anymore live.
Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
So has the defense been awakened?
Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
So I will say they have. I would say they
have been awakened.
Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
I think I can see them going forward with this
kind of effort and games, you know, a schematically you know,
I want to see them even if they don't have
that in their mind. Now, please do coach like this
is what we need to see more. You know, I
don't know if it was simplified, but I feel like
it was simplified. Look like they was simple fas and
(01:03:00):
those guys was able to fly around, fast, play with
their hairs on fire and make plays.
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
That's what you saw them.
Speaker 5 (01:03:06):
You saw them make more plays than sitting there. I
saw less talking from the defensive backs. Yeah, that's what
I was like, Man, you can see it wasn't. It
wasn't none of this in the middle of the play,
and I hate seeing that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
So that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
It was.
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Everything was sharper communication with shop execution, with shop tackling.
That's all I cared about with the tackling. And I
was like, I told people, man, single players making single
tack because you usually don't even well what a defensive players.
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
So I would say they woke.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
So I'm gonna say they're also woke that the kids
are saying these days, So hell yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
And I'm I just there.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
It's not gonna be perfect all the time. To play
some good offenses. It wasn't perfect last week, but this
is better and I can live with better, all right.
So I wrote down one, but I can't read my
handwriting for the.
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
Listen that jibbery should be right down. He at the time.
I would hate to see your notes. They're pretty good
note taken when you play. I still got some of
my notebooks.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
I can't read them. So if you got any other,
hell hell now.
Speaker 5 (01:04:06):
So I'm gonna give you one. Will we see better
receive a play going forward? I say yeah, because Terry
coming back eventually. I think we stole one with Burke's.
I love Treylon coming out of school. He never could
get right at Tennessee, started off with asthma. They didn't
seem to like try to build him up.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
And I think it's still talent inside, and I think
it's untapped talent said, I say hell yeah for the
simple fact regardless if Terry back or not, I believe
more got a little more confidence in this game.
Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
The guy Jones eighty four Jones, Man, he came in there.
Speaker 5 (01:04:44):
I'm like.
Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
Built.
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
They kind of used him like a demo.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
End so I love what I.
Speaker 5 (01:04:56):
Saw from him, his little bite size you know that
I saw from him, And I just feel like overhaul
when you got when you got number one, making plays
the way he can make plays, man, and you can
never forget about.
Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
The other guys.
Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
I think the tight ends are they They're the missing
link of the receivers. We got always mentioned them too.
Man Zach has just been zach Man. And the more
we get, you know, baits and and and sending it involved.
And I think the better ain't gonna gotta catch last week.
So I think implementing them more into the passing game,
giving those other guys confidence on the outside. We only
(01:05:27):
can see these guys get better because they hadn't shown
much lead up to that point, and to see more
go out there and make some key players. I would
love to see him make.
Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
That last They did pull his arm a little bit,
and I guess the rest that we don't give him enough.
We can't give him that call.
Speaker 5 (01:05:43):
But I think his confidence got a little boost man
just seeing him play, because I saw him be the
guy off the line of scrimmage on a on a goal.
Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
Nobody can Chris Moore off like nobody they didn't. He
gotta come down with those balls because he's always open.
Like if I like, if I could say one guy,
I'll be like this dude just never covered.
Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
It's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:06:02):
And that's probably one of the reasons why they wanted
to bring him back, knowing that he does a great
job to line the screaming Jos.
Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
I saw his get off a couple of time, like
with Damn and Jayla.
Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
Lane's also playing better. So I do think there are
some some some embers burning. You know, we'll see if
any of those catch fire moving forward. But I agree
with Tana. I'm going to say hell yeah in terms
of receiver play again, Yeah, yeah, So I think after
this game then maybe because it's the most recent, I'm
feeling pretty relatively optimistic cutting I don't want to say
like excited, but cautiously optimistic.
Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
I'm curious toe what looks like coming out of by week?
Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Got you cool?
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
All right, that's gonna do it for today show.
