The difference between the meaning "of" life and meaning "in" life is an important distinction to make. My musing on this distinction reflects that the meaning of life is a more abstract and universal concept, whilst meaning in life is more personal and specific.

I like things to go the way that I expect them to – most of the time anyway. A predictable life with lots of routines and habits means I don’t have to think about every little thing that I do. What I hadn’t appreciated until recently was how these routines help me find more meaning in my life. When people join an organisation, there’s usually some reason why they want to be there. Sometimes it’s just a job, but often it’s about connecting to the purpose of the organisation or the values of the organisation. The big WHY – why does this organisation matter, why does it do what it does? Those things can be attractive. But the way that things get done here in this organisation can matter even more than the Why.
