(00:00):
Hey guys, what is going on? My name is Amy Amore, also known as Lilly Monroe, and you are listening
(00:06):
to Escort Confessions. So, hi! It's been a while since I made the podcast and whatnot. I've been,
you know, all summer I've pretty much been moving, rearranging stuff, donating stuff,
all kinds of things. It was so busy, like basically I had this issue at the apartment complex, so
(00:29):
when I returned home after July 4th, basically my sink was dripping, and then which started to cause
mold on everywhere, more mold. I already had mold, but it was causing more mold, so which started to
cause cockroaches to show up, then my sink disposal stopped working, and I'm like, I'm talking to
(00:53):
maintenance, and apparently we did not have maintenance at that complex. We had temps,
so like they didn't really know what they were doing, so it's like, like you know what, I'm just
gonna move out, and all my friends were saying, you should see them. I'm like, okay, you got
ten thousand dollars for me, that maybe I could. So, yeah, basically I just kind of left the complex,
(01:18):
cleaned everything out, and they still told me that I owe them. I'm like, first of all, I don't
owe you shit, you owe me for living there under, you know, unsafe, unliving conditions. So, yeah,
anyways, but you know, I've been on the move a lot, I've been traveling a lot, so everything's been
going pretty good. Yeah, I got into comedy recently, which is always nice. It's like new
(01:44):
it's like new experience, very demure, very mindful, or whatever people say nowadays, but
yeah, and very recently I actually just came back a few days ago from Oahu, which is one of the
islands in Hawaii. I kind of changed plans a little bit, because I was supposed to be in Alaska this
(02:08):
September, celebrating my birthday, but I'm like, you know what, I've been to Alaska before, I don't
want to go there right now. I want to go there in winter and do dog sledding. So, yeah, I switched my
travel itinerary to Hawaii, and I'm like, you know, I haven't been to this island in Hawaii,
let's go. And it was it wasn't expensive, it was like twice as cheaper than going to Alaska. So,
(02:32):
yeah, so yeah, I went to Hawaii, like on the first day I was staying in Honolulu,
it's the capital, so it kind of reminded me of mix between Miami and Los Angeles, and a little bit of
Arizona actually, because it was so humid, so hot. There's like a bunch of surfers, everybody's
exercising, which I absolutely love. Also, I have no idea how they live there, how they can afford
(02:58):
to live there, because it's like one of the highest. It's really expensive to live there, so yeah.
So, like I'm thinking generational wealth, you know, natives have been living there since forever,
since they first, you know, were born there, pretty much. And a lot of Asians, because San
(03:18):
Clay, Hawaii is between Japan and Mexico, I believe it's Antarctica. Anyways, it's a middle of freaking
nowhere, middle of the ocean. Ocean is really nice, the water is so blue, I could not believe it.
You know, a lot of fun activities to do there, like you can go snorkeling, you don't even have
to pay to go snorkeling, you can just buy masks off Amazon and just take it with you, like that's all.
(03:44):
I went snorkeling, it was awesome, best day ever. I actually went snorkeling on my birthday,
and there was nobody there, and I'm like, fuck yeah, fuck yes, all those fish are around me,
this is great. Yeah, but I mean, I would recommend going to Oahu, like if you want, especially if
(04:06):
you're into surfing, I would definitely recommend going there, because there's lots of surfers,
lots of, you know, lots of good waves. I would not go to, it's called Pipeline Beach, I believe,
and it's like one of the most dangerous spots in the world to go surfing, because people die every
year, but you know, fair warning, fair warning. See, yeah, great spots for surfing, lots, I mean,
(04:32):
lots of things to do for families, if you have not been on vacation ever. I got bored there,
I really got bored, because I've already done a lot of things that people do there,
so I'm like, you know what, I'm gonna go home earlier.
I got to save money on hotels, I tried to, you know, road dog it in the car, again, stay,
(04:53):
stay in the car, sleep in the car. I was not really comfortable as I used to be before, so I'm like,
you know what, I'm gonna stay in hotels from now on, I'd rather be in comfort. And there's not,
unlike Maui and Kauai, there's not a lot of parking space, and I don't know, I don't know,
(05:13):
there's not, unlike Maui and Kauai, there's not a lot of parking spots to sleep in Oahu, because
the beaches are closed, or homeless people live there. It's like, okay, homeless people could be
there, but I can't, okay, makes perfect sense. And actually, a lot of homeless people come to
Hawaii to be homeless. I'm like, you know what, I'll probably do the same thing, honestly, honestly,
(05:36):
I mean, they get showers there, they get beach there. What else, what else do you want from life?
No judgment from my end. But yeah, so on the first day, again, going back, Honolulu, really big city,
again, lots of homeless people, just like in any other big town. I had such a hard time
(06:02):
finding this hotel in quotation marks. It was a, it was like a one-star motel with amazing view,
with amazing downtown view. And I had to pay like $45 parking fee. And I'm like, but I'm staying at
the hotel, should it be not included? And they were like, no, okay. And the parking garage at the
(06:26):
Monarch Hotel, it was only, it took only, they took only cash. I'm like, I see what you do here.
You're like scamming people. Okay, okay, great. So anyways, and yeah, and then they charged me $20
for something. I'm like, okay, bitch, whatever. So yeah, Monarch Hotel, do not recommend in
(06:52):
Honolulu. Just stay away. Because it's like I came there, there were like hairs. It looked like
somebody died there, which I, I mean, it wouldn't surprise me. So yeah. And then on my birthday,
I stayed at the Pagoda Hotel. It was much nicer hotel, but it was still like, it was not a resort
(07:15):
because resorts are expensive. And it's not even the season yet. But it was humid and there were
lots of people there. So maybe it was season to like go on vacation to Hawaii. But I got to see
some cool spots, you know, there's lots of beaches to be at. Sharks Cove is pretty cool spot for
(07:36):
snorkeling. Cut my foot there, which was great. One of the reasons I left early. It's okay, though.
It's fine. I cut my foot before. It's not the first time this happens. And I did some cave snorkeling,
which is like I went into the cave, almost went out of air, kind of had a panic attack, and I was
(08:02):
fine. And I was like, oh, yes, little adventure. And yeah. And then I slept at one of the like
state parks, which kind of is the parking spot that's overlooking one of the one side of the,
I don't know, one of the beaches. And literally as I was falling asleep, as I was starting to
(08:27):
fall asleep, a car came with blue and red lights. And I'm like, that's not a cop. They were fishing
at nighttime. And I'm like, okay, I'll go back to sleep. Literally five minutes later, another truck
showed up with three guys in them who decided to play loud music, like where you can hear the bass
(08:51):
just boom, boom, boom, thumb, thumb, thumb. And I'm like, God damn it. Like, guys, come on, you see, there's a car next to you in which somebody is sleeping, because
at enterprise, they do not give you tinted, like they do not have cars with tinted windows. It's all
really open. So like they could see I was sleeping there and they still decide to play music. I'm like,
(09:11):
you know what, I don't want to leave because I don't know where else to go, because there's not a lot of
parking spots or spaces to sleep on. So when I did call the police, it didn't go through. I'm like, what the
fuck? There's not a lot of cops there. There really is not. I mean, I live in the middle of nowhere. But anyways,
(09:33):
my trip was interesting. So yeah, I mean, out of all the Hawaiian islands I've been to, Maui is still my
favorite. I don't know if it's because the first one I went to, or because it's one of my favorites. It's like,
I felt safe there. I did not feel safe in Oahu whatsoever. Maui, super safe, kawaii, was okay. And then Oahu is like,
(09:59):
yeah, I don't know. I feel like everybody has different experience. But yeah, like that's about it. That's like
the craziest stuff that happened. Lots of Asian tours, which is, you know, because Japan is like right there
across the ocean. Probably like six hours of flight. And yeah, I like after the trip, I realized how
(10:26):
much I missed home and how much I liked airports. Because every airport has its own theme, its own
theme, lots of, you know, shops. And I was at the Minneapolis airport in St. Paul, and they had Prince
store, you know, Prince musician, singer, songwriter, Prince, you know, purple vein, purple, yeah.
(10:53):
Yeah, and I like that. I like the store. Yeah, so lots of cool airports out there in the United
States. But yeah, you know, if you... Oh, oh, yeah, basically what I wanted to say if you have never
been on vacation, Oahu is a good spot to go. And this was my vacation. So yeah, anyways, if you
