(00:00):
Hello everybody! What is going on? My name is Lily Monroe and also known as Amy Amore
(00:06):
and I recently got back from the island of Kauai, which is in Hawaii and oh my
gosh I also gotta tell you some new exciting stuff. So, Winter Kauai is one
of the bigger islands in, you know, the whole of Hawaii and such and do not go
(00:27):
there when it's rainy season because honestly I was depressed for like half
of the trip and the other half of the trip which was like a day and a
half because in total I went for two and a half days and to get there it takes
you the whole day pretty much. So yeah, went there on Wednesday, came on
(00:50):
Wednesday evening, found a spot to sleep in. Oh yeah, I got kicked off Walmart
parking lot in Kauai because apparently you cannot sleep in their parking lots
and it's so funny because they not somebody knocked on my window car
windows at like 1 30 in the morning and I'm like I'll just hide but then they
(01:12):
started flashing their flashlight and I'm like okay they found me I guess I
have to answer and here's the thing I was not dressed so like I had a jacket on
and my bottom half like I covered it with a blanket so like I had to like
open the door and be like hi can you give me just like five minutes I'm I
have to get dressed like I'm not I'm not properly dressed and they're like okay
(01:34):
but you you can't sleep here I'm like okay and I forgot to ask them what was
the reason because like you gotta have a reason you know it's like I buy
groceries at Walmart all the fucking time and I get to I get some stuff for
free um so it's like I can't sleep in a parking lot like what's what's gonna
happen like it's not like I'm trashy person like I'm not gonna leave trash
(01:57):
but anyways so I left I parked by the sport Marina thingy and see you slept
the night there and my car was like the back seat of the SUV that I rented was
pretty foldable so it was like all straight and like you could put them air
mattress on it and put a bunch of blankets and you would be a really really
(02:17):
comfortable so so that's how I saved money I stayed in the car pretty much
and lots of people do that because yeah when somebody when the workers of
Walmart interrupted my sleep I saw another car leave and they were they were
apparently sleeping in their cars too so I'm like oh homeless I'm like I'm
(02:39):
literally I literally am homeless in whenever I go travel because like
sometimes like I like to save money on hotels and just stay in my car if it's
warm enough why not especially if it's like tropical countries or states it's
like you you have shower like my hair doesn't need to be washed and whatnot
(03:00):
and just be in the water all day and then just sleep and it's fine yeah which
does not make sense because it's like I already spent money on the tickets so
it's like I'm not really saving money but hashtag girl math but um yeah so
oh yeah spent the night at the marina woke up the next day it was kind of
(03:24):
rainy and whatnot but that is okay because it was super warm it's like no
no it was like 69 degrees and I have my hoodie on and then I come in the car and
I'm all sweaty and I'm like what the hell Hawaii what the hell so there's
some really cool trails all around and apparently like Hawaii is called the
(03:45):
Garden of Eden or something like that some places yes some places are not I
actually liked Maui so much better than Hawaii just because I felt more
comfortable I would say I like the area more the area overall so and then so
(04:06):
much smaller and I don't know I just felt more comfortable in Maui rather
than in Hawaii so yeah there are places like that so yeah and I felt like Hawaii
had way more people which is what I do not like like I just want to go on my
trails and be by myself like yeah a few people are good but too much people it's
like it's making me claustrophobic and really anxious so which is why I don't
(04:31):
really do parties anymore so yeah but um yeah but there's like lots of good
beaches I found this trail and it was like lake on the one side and then beach
on the other which was pretty cool pretty cool the water was amazing and
like all these waves like you literally jump on waves and they roll you around
(04:53):
and you're like oh my god am I gonna die today whoo but they're great yeah I went
to the one of the rich neighborhoods I think it's called Pritchville in Hawaii
and I'm like oh my god those house are so awesome and then I stopped by the one
of those like real estate little stores type of things like little buildings
(05:17):
when well you can talk to realtor about the houses and like the house are like
billion and million dollars I'm like I'm good I was just curious so beautiful
homes beautiful neighborhoods I can only imagine the whole office and most of the
people so most of the people that live in Hawaii so there's like a bunch of
like regions in Hawaii which is like what such a small island but like in
(05:43):
once in one part of kawaii there's farmers you drive like for 20 minutes
there's like all those surfers and younger people and then like 20 minutes
of driving and then you happen to be in the place where there's like bunch of
seniors and retired people and which people and I'm like this is really
(06:05):
interesting they're really diverse and yeah and then you drive for 20 more
minutes and it's like deserted because there's like a park niche one of the
national parks and apparently it's you can't drive past that like you have to
go around the island so which was very interesting but yeah everybody's super
(06:26):
nice as always I'm nice to people people are nice to me goes back and forth so
until last day I went to the Waimea Canyon State Park and Kokei State Park
I don't know if I'm saying it right do forgive me such a great area I met some
really cool people they were there was a guy and a girl and they were I don't know
(06:47):
if they were honeymooners or friends but who are like traveling and stuff but so
I met this guy but the overlook and he's like yeah my my friend she went to hike
in this area near the cliffs even though you're not supposed to but she's
next and I'm like I am going after her because that's pretty cool I like I like
(07:11):
the courage of her so I basically went down this trail went through the gate
that you're not supposed to go through and oh my god the views it's like it's
undescribable I was overlooking the sky was perfect it was clear sky and then in
the background you see all those cliffs and mountains and then the ocean and
(07:33):
then all the trees around me and then this trail goes down and you see the
where it goes down to the other cliff it's it's undescribable like I I posted
some pictures on my fans Lee account so it's just so beautiful and I'm like well
no wonder it's deserted but it was it was not deserted but it was locked locked
(07:56):
for tourists because tourists trash places and you know you got to preserve
the island of Hawaii and you got to preserve the nature so it's very
understandable and they locked it for other reasons so but I went down the
tree a little bit and it's like you keep going down down down but then I saw I
(08:17):
saw the girl she was coming up and I'm like you can do it and she's like oh
it's it's really hard because it because you keep going up on the way back so I'm
like yeah I'm not gonna I'm not gonna go the way she went so yeah and that was
like my highlight of the trip just meeting the people going down this trail
(08:39):
and then exploring this Kenyan Park because the views are amazing and then I
went to it's called shipwreck shipwreck Beach where there were no ships but I'm
pretty sure if I got to scuba dive there I might find some ships and I went on
this trail there was if you keep going like around the cliffs and such you have
(09:04):
to see the the rest of the island and it gave another great overlook and I got
really tan while I was hiking and whatnot and just it's like I wish
somebody would go with me because I get to share that experience and share those
views and share the excitement of seeing all this beauty and whatnot and but yeah
(09:30):
but overall it was it was really good trip I definitely recommend going when
it's not rainy season because because you might get really sad and depressed
like me but that is okay because I I still enjoyed the trip was really good
unexpected trip and then but yeah and I will share some exciting news in my
(09:52):
other podcast so thank you so much for tuning in today I really really appreciate
you guys the support and my name is Lillian Monroe and I will talk to you
guys next time
