Anya, and I literally put out athought to her and I said, help
me.

(01:27):
So grab a cozy spot, settle in,and let's dive into some
empowering insights together.
So I was standing on stage atone of the biggest festivals
that I've ever spoken at, andthe mc comes walking up to me at
the end of my speech and says.
(01:48):
You've got 15 minutes to fill, make something up.
And in that moment my heartstarted pounding.
I had rehearsed what I was goingto present.
I had my introduction.
I had my really beautifulconnecting story that allowed me
to share the wisdom and themagic of learning reiki.
(02:09):
And then what I had to do islean on my connection to my
spirit guide in real time toharness the energy to get
through what was my biggestfear.
So I don't know if you've everbeen afraid of public speaking.
I have heard that it's one of,uh, for the majority of people,
(02:31):
it's one of the things they fearthe most.
And as someone who actuallyloves engaging with an audience,
I love speaking.
Don't worry, I get.
All of the same fears andinsecurities that you might
think would come up for you whenyou are standing in front of an
audience, especially an audienceof people that you don't know.
(02:51):
So I'll take you a little bitback to the story and how I came
to be standing on stage in frontof a massive audience and having
nothing to say so.
We go backwards in time a littlebit.
It was at Secrets in the Garden, which was a women's festival and
they had speakers, tents.
So there was about five frommemory all set up.
(03:13):
All the speakers spoke in theirtents at the same time.
Then there was about a 15 minutebreak, and what would happen is
people had a schedule, they knewthe different speakers that were
on stage, what their topic was,and then throughout the day they
would, the audience wouldliterally move from one tent to
the other, and then they'd beengaging and taking on, you
know, the amazing talks.
(03:34):
I think we had Michelle Bridgesthere and Ida Buttross, and
there was some amazing keynote.
Presenters.
Um, and to be a part of thisfestival was such a big
opportunity to, you know, forme.
And, um, I had planned it monthsin advance.
I knew pretty much word forword, uh, what my talk was gonna
be about.
So.
(03:55):
This is the, the, the differenceis there's things that challenge
you and come up that you can'talways plan for.
And this is certainly whathappened for me.
So the mc, I had been micd up.
I had my PowerPoint ready to go.
There was a big televisionscreen.
I had my signs, uh, for thebusiness behind me and the
audience.
(04:15):
There wasn't many people in.
In the tent and I just kind ofthought, oh, maybe they're not
that interested in what I'mspeaking about.
Um, so part of me was kind ofrelieved when I started talking
to know that there was, uh,probably only about 50 people in
the audience at that time.
Little did I know the reasonthere was only 50 people in the
(04:36):
audience instead of 250 wasbecause the mc called me on
stage 15 minutes early.
Earlier than I was scheduled tospeak, earlier than the, uh, the
schedule that the whole audiencemembers had received.
(04:57):
My talk was due to start, Ithink it was about 11:00 AM and
he got me in at 10 45 and got meup and started talking.
Now, the problem for me was thatI didn't check.
I didn't check the time becauseI was by that stage in full
speaker mode.
I was preparing, I was trying todo everything I could to calm
down my nerves, and when the MCsaid it's time, I just jumped
(05:19):
straight on stage and did mything.
So what started happening is, isI'm connecting with the
audience.
I'm really comfortable with themby this stage.
There's an initial fear thatsets in when you start speaking
where your heart pounds and youthink you're gonna die, and then
within a few deep breaths, youfeel the warmth from the
audience and, and your, yourknowledge kicks in and you start
(05:41):
to feel more comfortable.
So I knew there was.
You know, a little bit of timein the beginning, and then I, my
nerves would settle, which theydid.
So as I'm starting to reallybuild the energy with the
audience, I can feel themleaning in and I'm sharing my,
um, real turning point story,uh, where Reiki had a massive
impact on my life.
And I'm right at that moment.
(06:01):
I'm literally just starting tofeel the energy of what had
happened to me, that thatchanged my life.
Dramatically.
And as I'm feeling the tearscoming up, as I'm sharing that
story and I'm pulling it back, Istart noticing the energy
shifting in the room and peoplestart walking into the talk.
And so I'm having to coordinatelike massive amounts of people
(06:24):
coming in.
And there I am already halfwaythrough my talk and then having
to kind of.
Work out on the fly, how togreet people coming in.
I'm in the middle of my turningpoint story, which if you're a
speaker, you know, that's thekey moment when people really
get to know who you are.
It's that vulnerable sharing.
Um, it's the kind of, it's how,in my case, it was my reiki
(06:47):
modality, how it changed mylife, and, um, and it was about
a story.
If you've followed me for awhile, you know, it was about my
daughter who, um.
Received, uh, burns and how Iused reiki to help her, and also
how that experience planted inmy heart, a desire to learn how
to trust my intuition.
(07:08):
So here I was adapting, uh,feeling the panic and just
going, just get through thetalk.
It's okay.
You know, more people are comingin.
Great.
So I just keep proceedingthrough, through my talk.
I get to the end, um, I sharewith them how I can help them
and, you know, to go to the backof the table and I'm, I'm happy
(07:28):
to answer any questions.
And then the mc runs over to me,whispers in my ear and says,
Lisa, I got you on too early.
I'm so sorry, but you have totalk for another 15 minutes.
And I'm just like, oh.
He said, just make something up.
I'm like, worst fear evercoming.
True.
But.
That was the moment that Iremembered I'm not alone.
(07:51):
And what I did is I called onthe force of my spirit guide,
Anya, and I literally put out athought to her and I said, help
me.
Help me to come up withsomething that's inspiring and
engaging.
And what I did is I steppedaside and allowed my guide to
come through and to blend withme and to be able to.
(08:14):
Transmit a message.
And what she did as she camethrough was she guided them into
a relaxation groundingmeditation, and it was amazing.
I didn't know what she was gonnasay or how it was was going to
go.
I just trusted, I'm a consciouschannel, so when my guide comes
in, it's like I step aside, Ifeel her energy, I get this
(08:36):
surge of power.
It's like my energy gets 10 Xedand there's no anxiety.
When Anya steps in, it's, I justfeel like the most confident,
secure, grounded, uh, version ofI, I guess an adapted version of
myself.
Because I'm present with her.
(08:57):
I'm not an unconscious channel.
I'm with her.
So it feels like a blending isprobably the best way to
describe it.
So what she does is she startscommunicating through me to the
audience.
We didn't announce that I was achannel.
We didn't announce that she wasgonna come in and speak, and
that someone else was kind ofworking through me.
You know, this was a coldaudience and they were.
(09:18):
You know, more executive women,so more business women.
Um, probably not that spiritualthough.
Uh, many of them were open tospirituality and there was a few
other spiritual speakers, so shedidn't, you know, I didn't
pretty much announce, hang on,I'm gonna let my guide come
through and talk to you.
We just did it and what wasamazing was.
(09:39):
The, and I'm, I'm only goingfrom memory'cause it was a few
years ago.
So as she started doing theguided meditation, I'm pretty
sure I started seeing peoplelaying down, like as they
started, she started to bringthe meditation through.
A couple of them laid down, justgot really comfortable.
Some stayed sitting, there was afew standing at the back of the
room, but most of them had kindof taken a seat on the grass
(10:01):
and.
She starts talking about energyand about grounding and she's,
she's guiding them through tokind of receive this healing
energy that she's amplifyingthrough my body, through to the
audience.
And then she talks about thegrounding benefit of nature and
just as she's talking aboutnature on cue, like you could
(10:21):
not make this stuff up guys oncue this.
This wind, this powerful windcomes whipping through the tent
and it literally, like a minitornado, probably exaggerating,
but it came through, it wasstrong enough and it was as she
commanded the energy, the the,the wind came through, knocked
(10:42):
both of my signs over behind me,and they were big, you know,
banners.
They went, boom, that one wentdown, that one went down The
energies.
I could feel the wind like movethrough the audience, and then
it kind of came around me.
Through and then back out theback end of the tent.
And I was just like, oh my God.
That's cool.
So it, I, I don't know if, ifthere was anyone that was
(11:04):
actually at that talk, it wasthe Secrets in the garden event.
Um, please let me know'cause Iknow some of you guys are still
following me from, from thatexperience.
I would love to hear if anyoneelse remembers that experience.
But I know from standing in thefront of the room, the key
takeaway points are when you gointo something that you're a
little afraid of.
(11:24):
And all growth comes from afear, right?
We're always stepping intosomething that is bigger than
what we feel we are ready for! That's the place you wanna be.
That's where the transformationtakes place.
When you learn how to channel, when you learn how to connect to
high level guidance, you neverwalk alone again, a day in your
life.
(11:45):
So I was nervous about gettingon and just sharing and speaking
to you directly today on mypodcast.
I'm doing it slightly differentafter an amazing training.
That I had with the incredibleCarmen Braidwood.
She's a speaker and she justsaid, have a framework.
Just get on camera, starttalking.
So I would, I was always worriedabout waffling too much because
(12:07):
I have a tendency as a naturaltalker to sometimes not know how
to get to the point of my story.
Um, so in the past of thepodcast, just being totally
vulnerable, I would share mystories and I would work with AI
to kind of script it out, and Iwould read.
Um, but as she shared with me,it's not as engaging and people
can tell when you're reading.
(12:27):
So I thought, you know what?
I'm just gonna be me.
Show up, um, ums and all themistakes that I'm gonna make.
I'm just gonna chuck them in thepodcast so that you get the real
unfiltered version of me showingup now for you on the podcast.
So.
I hope you love it.
Let me know in the commentswhere I share this on socials or

And one that I know transformsyour life.
