Lisa Brandis (00:46):
Hello, beautiful soul and welcome to another
episode of Connecting to Spirit.
Today I wanna share somethingdeeply personal with you, a
story that changed my life andshaped my journey in trusting my
intuition.
There was a time when I didn'tlisten to my inner knowing and

(01:07):
the consequences wereheartbreaking.
This experience became apowerful lesson, not just about
intuition, but about the courageit takes to follow it,
especially when it goes againstwhat others expect of us.
If you've ever ignored thatlittle voice inside only to
regret it, then this episode isfor you.

(01:31):
So settle in.
Take a deep breath and let metake you back to a pivotal
moment in my life.
I recall a time when life gaveme an experience that showed me
just how powerful my intuitionis and.
How devastating it can be when Idon't follow it.

(01:55):
It was during a family holidayin Sydney when my youngest
daughter, Hannah, was just 18months old.
We were staying at a remoteproperty owned by my husband,
Gerald's relatives.
A beautiful bar off the gridplace in the Blue Mountains.
It had no running water orelectricity.

(02:16):
But the views were breathtakingThat evening, as I prepared
Hannah's bottle, she reached uponto her tiny tippy toes and
grabbed at the counter, andbefore we could stop her, she
pulled down a full cup ofboiling water, spilling it.
All over her small body.

(02:38):
The scream that followed wentright through me.
That piercing heart, wrenchingsound, no mother ever wants to
hear.
And in that moment, panic tookover.
We had no running water, onlydamn water.
And while my husband's uncletried to help with the first aid
book, all I could think aboutwas getting Hannah to the

(02:59):
hospital.
The local doctor assessed herburns, and the nurse followed
his instructions using icedwater to cool the burn.
And in my gut, I knew it waswrong.
I could feel it deep inside methat this was only making things
worse.
Not better.

(03:21):
But when I questioned it, I wasdismissed.
The doctor knows what he'sdoing, they said, so I did what
I was told.
I held my baby as I applied thetreatment.
Even as she cried harder, herpain intensifying, and in that
moment I silenced my own innervoice.

(03:43):
It wasn't until the doctor leftthe room that I finally
remembered.
I had another way to help herlying on the hospital bed.
I loosened the ice towel andplaced my hands above her burned
skin.
And as I began sending her Reikihealing, Hannah's cries slowed
down, she relaxed, and then Ijust moved and placed my hand

(04:07):
over her tiny little heartletting the nurturing, calming
energy flow, and she fell asleepin my arms.
The pain had eased and I toofelt the shift.
The next day, we weretransferred to a hospital in the
city where Hannah receivedproper treatment, and it was

(04:29):
there that the doctor saidsomething that stopped me in my
tracks.
After going throughstep-by-step, the treatment that
we gave both at the retreatproperty and also what they did
once she had been taken tohospital.
He then said to me.
"We don't ice burns anymore.
We haven't iced burns for manyyears.

(04:50):
It actually makes them worse".
I felt a wave of regret washover me.
I had known my intuition hadtold me, but I had ignored it
that night after my daughterswere asleep.
I just sobbed.
Not only for what Hannah hadendured, but because I'd failed

(05:14):
to trust my intuition when itmattered most.
And in the depths of that grief, something shifted.
I made a promise to myself.
I would never.
Again, ignore my intuition.
I would learn how to trust it,how to understand it, and most
importantly, to have the courageto act on it.

(05:37):
That moment changed me.
It really was my wake-up callfrom spirit.
Even now as I share this story, and this is an excerpt from my
book, intuitive Reiki, ATransformational Journey, just
deep spiritual awakening.
I still feel deeply how much itresonates not just for me, but

(05:58):
for so many of you.
We've all had moments where wequestion ourselves, where we
ignore our inner wisdom toplease others or to avoid
conflict, but Spirit alwaysspeaks to us only.
Our only job is to listen.
So I wanna invite Anya in now toshare a message on this

(06:20):
experience and what it means forall of us to learn how to trust
our guidance.

Anya Speaks (06:26):
Yes, yes, we are here.
Hmm.
It can be very, hmm.
Challenging to remember times inyour life that have caused a
great deal of pain andsuffering, not only for you,
Lisa, but also as you recallthat experience in detail.

(06:46):
It is something that a lot ofhumans tend to.
Have an experience, work out thelesson from it, and then put it
in a box.
But as someone who is awakeningintuition, and not just for
yourself, but for the listenersthat are tuning in, it is a gift
that you are able to dig backinto the painful moments of that

(07:09):
experience in order to find away to serve others and also to
share the ways in whichintuition shows up in your life.
But it is not just the knowingor the feeling of what is right,
even if it goes against whatsomeone else wants or what
someone else in this case withauthority is.

(07:32):
Not only suggesting, butpressuring you into that form of
treatment.
And this was long before, thingscould be Googled and challenged.
it was before phones had thekind of.
Data and information that is atall of your fingertips now.
But the point that we would liketo discuss is there are a few

(07:54):
elements in this story.
There is the element of that gutfeeling that when something
wasn't in resonance with you andat that time your daughter,
because you have a.
Symbiotic relationship where youfeel what she feels.
And it's part of that caring, mother role where that intuition
is there to protect the babies.

(08:15):
And so straight away, the gutfeeling has a sense of,
discomfort that when one istapped into their intuition,
tapped into the gut brain, theyfeel the restriction, they feel
the tightening of the stomach, they feel the quickening of the
breath, the pounding of theheart.
All of these are.
Physical symptoms that representfear, that are a way of

(08:38):
awakening you to be on alertbecause there is something
happening in your environmentthat does not resonate as truth
for you or does not resonate asthe way.
Of the path of least resistancefor you.
And so as you start to developyour intuition and as you start
to move into a place of havingan awareness of the programming,

(09:00):
both cultural from within thefamily, and in this case that,
the programming that's.
Says that, that we listen to theauthority, otherwise we get in
trouble.
As part of the program that wasgoing on for you back then, it
is a wonderful lesson to learnhow to firstly, identify the
discomfort in the body, identifyit as an intuitive insight, and

(09:23):
as we have.
Mentioned before, sometimesguidance is a very quiet inner
knowing.
It is not necessarily a directloud thought, although sometimes
we can come through in that waywhen it is needed.
Mostly, it is a subtleexperience, especially when the
mind is very dominant.

(09:44):
The mind tends to override thosesensitivities in the physical
body and as one starts tosuppress their emotions because
we have.
As a western culture, beingtaught more to primarily rely on
the dominant mind rather thanthe emotional intelligence, it

(10:05):
can be hard to decipher thenatural.
Impulses from the body, from theintuition versus what's coming
from programming and decisionsand, and a fear-based response
that comes from the mind versusan intuitive response.
Even if it is fear, as in thiscase, and how to listen to it

(10:26):
and recognize and identifyidentified is one stage, but
then having the courage to speakup and to find a way that you
can share and express yourconcerns.
In a way that does not cause adefense or a reaction like the
one that you experienced allthose many years ago, Ignoring
or a dismissal of your fears andconcerns as a mother.

(10:50):
Things have changed a lot sincethen, but the lesson that came
through is the part that we wishto speak of today.
It was a decision.
That Lisa made all those manyyears ago to learn how to deeply
trust her intuition, whichinvolved luckily for us, an
open, like a key that opened adoorway for her to invite in our

(11:14):
involvement within her life andto.
Participate in a way that we donow where we can bring wisdom
and spiritual knowledge, notonly from a high vantage point,
but also to inspire and to teachLisa continually, but also to
share messages that will empoweryou on your journey.
And it is the decision that isthe key component to fully

(11:38):
opening and embracing yourintuitive gifts, which are all
unique.
And part of the journey is theunfolding and the realization
and the expression of that gifttaking form.
And it.
All begins with a decision.
So we hope that this story hasignited a passion within you to

(12:00):
understand that there is anintuitive insight that is built
into the physical human systemthrough the pineal gland.
There is guidance that you canreceive that comes from a
specific part of your brain thatis connected to the infinite
field that will always guide youto a place of, hmm.

(12:24):
The next best steps, dependingon what it is that you're
experiencing, and also knowinghow to tune in and ask is the
key to be able to be tapped intowisdom and knowledge and
intuition and intuitive insightsthat you can trust that will
lead you to.

(12:44):
Making quicker, easier, betterdecisions.
Being able to move through yourworld with confidence and being
able to trust and expressyourself in a way that feels
most natural for you to do so.
We love suggesting that.
Lisa's students follow the pathof joy, and where there is that

(13:06):
feeling of excitement and thatpassion, then that is the path
opening up.
And your intuition will alwaysbring opportunity,
synchronicity, and alignment tohelp you to move with ease.
And Grace through your life'sexperience.
We hope this has been helpful.
We hope it has inspired you towanna learn more about trusting
your intuition, and we are sograteful for your time and for

(13:30):
being here and being presentwith us.
Whether you are listening tothis later, at whatever point in
time you found this message, weare glad that you were here.
Namaste".
