Lisa Brandis (00:00):
Hi, and welcome.
I'm Lisa Brandis and you arelistening to The Connecting to
Spirit Podcast.
Today, I wanna talk aboutsomething really close to my
heart, and that's the Reikilevel two training.
Now, even if you haven'tlearned Reiki before, I think
you'll find something valuablein this episode because whether

(00:21):
you are brand new or already onthe path, there's something
beautiful that happens when webegin working with energy more
intentionally.
So I wanna take you back to thebeginning.
If Reiki is new to you, thinkof this as a gentle form of
energy healing.
It's not tied to any religion.

(00:41):
It simply supports you infeeling more calm, connected,
and aligned physically,emotionally, and spiritually.
When I first learned Reiki, Ireally felt.
This incredible energy insideof me and it was like something
just clicked.
It wasn't loud or dramatic.

(01:02):
It was a deep inner a knowingthat I knew I wanted to go the
entire way through the programand.
I did, and it literally changedthe way I saw everything.
But stepping into the Reiki twolevel, that's where the energy
really started to unfold in mylife.

(01:23):
So the practitioner level iswhere you are introduced to the
sacred reiki symbols and nothey're not just.
Abstract shapes their energetickeys that help you to focus
your intention and yourconnection with the Reiki energy
more deeply.
Plus, they also supportemotional healing, both for

(01:43):
yourself and for others.
They strengthen your intuitionand one of the most incredible
things, they allow you to sendReiki beyond the here and now.
Yes, you heard me right?
You can send reiki across timeand space, and that can mean to
a younger version of yourselfwho needed comfort to a friend

(02:04):
on the other side of the worldor a family member.
Or to a future moment, like ajob interview or a live
channeling event, for example.
Anytime when you feel uncertainor nervous, or even when you're
making a big decision, like aninterview or a conversation that
you might have been puttingoff.
And the beautiful thing aboutReiki is that you don't need to

(02:27):
force anything.
Reiki doesn't ask us to tryharder.
It invites us to soften, to bepresent, and to trust the energy
to go where it's needed themost.
I'll never forget one of thefirst, really profound reiki
distant healing experiences thatI had.

(02:48):
It actually gives me chills toremember it because it was real
and powerful.
This work, even when invisibleto the outside world, changes
people's lives.
And over the years I've watchedso many students transform
their own life in the Reiki twoworkshop.
There's one gentleman thatcomes to mind who recently told

(03:12):
me he was going through cancertreatment.
And he emailed me at the timeasking whether it would be
beneficial for him to givehimself Reiki during the
treatment process and if it'sokay to do it while you're on
chemo and radiation.
And I said, yes, Reiki isamazing in that it works with
other modalities.
Especially medication if youneed to take it or other forms

(03:36):
of treatment.
He said to me that he starteddoing reiki and he found it
instantly made the process ofhis treatment a lot easier to
bear and to, get through, thedifficulty he had as he was
experiencing prostate cancer.
And he sent me quite anemotional email saying that, the

(04:00):
change was so profound for himthat it actually inspired him to
want to be able to create aplatform or a forum where he can
inspire and support other mengoing through a similar
experience that he'd beenthrough, which just left me
feeling.
Full of all those warm fuzzyfeelings to know that Reiki

(04:21):
impacts not only us, but alsohelps us go through the most
difficult experiences andchallenges, and even helps us
wanna then make a difference inother people's lives.
Isn't that just such abeautiful reason?
On its own to learn reiki.
There was another moment I'llalso never forget when I sent
Reiki to a girlfriend's baby whohad been diagnosed with

(04:45):
meningitis.
She was very, very ill and inhospital, her mother was,
extremely worried about her andI said, I'll send a distant
healing, but didn't actuallytell her the time that I was
gonna send it.
I remember sitting down, I usedmy proxy and I sent Reiki to
her and it was about a few hourslater that she messaged me and
she asked me what time I'd senther the healing.

(05:07):
And I thought it was a littleodd because, people don't
normally check in with you.
Um, and I told her it wasaround, the time.
This was going back aboutprobably 15 years, so I can't
recall the actual time that Isent it to her.
And she said, you know, thefunniest thing happened, Lisa, I
was standing in, she was, herdaughter was in ICU at the time,
and she said she was standingnext to her husband and she was

(05:30):
listening to the.
Monitors just beeping quiterapidly.
And she said, all of a sudden Ihad this wave of peace just
kind of washed through my body.
And she looked at her husbandand said, can you feel that?
And he is like, yeah.
And the monitor changed therhythm of the beeping.
So she said it was affectingher baby's heart rhythm as well.

(05:52):
So when it was quite fast andrapid, it had slowed down.
I can't remember the exactdetails, but she said there was
a.
Distinct difference in, how itwas sounding.
As well as her feeling, justthis sense of, peace wash over
her.
And she did check with me laterand I confirmed it was around

(06:13):
the same time I'd sent it toher.
So that was like a reallyprofound moment of.
Knowing that the intention wasjust there to send love, to send
healing, and to know that theyactually received it.
A lot of the times when we senddistant healing, the people are
so busy in their life that theydon't quite often notice the
energy coming in unless theyliterally lay down and you're on

(06:35):
the phone with 'em while you'resending them distant healing.
So it was quite amazing to knowthat distant healing can be
sent.
And really help people in theirtime of need.
many of my students have alsotold me that level two really
awakened something deeper inthem.
They started getting intuitiveinsights and vivid dreams.

(06:57):
They would get clearerguidance, stronger gut
instincts, and a sense of trustin themself that just wasn't
there before.
It's like reiki helps you tuneinto your inner compass and
gently aligns you with yourpurpose.
Many people around 60 to 70%who complete level one
eventually feel called to do,reiki level two, the

(07:21):
practitioner level.
And even if you haven't trainedyet, you might already feel a
quite nudge inside saying, there's something more for me
here.
So if you're in a quiet space,I'd love to share a little
moment of connection now.
So if you can place your handover your heart and take a deep
breath in and gently release.

(07:45):
Now I want you to bring someoneto mind, somebody that you care
about, and simply imaginesending them love.
No pressure, just a softintention from your heart to
theirs.
And that with the energy andyour intention is reiki.

(08:06):
Even if this is your very firstexperience with it, you've just
connected with the essence ofit.
It's love, it's presence, andit's healing energy that comes
through you and through yourintention from.
The universal life force.
So it's life force energy thatwe conduct and we send.

(08:27):
So if reiki level two has beenon your mind, maybe this was
your sign.
And if you're just beginning toexplore reiki, you can find
more information, greatresources, and of course details
on my website atwww.intuitivereiki.com.au.
You'll also find my Connectingto Spirit Bootcamp, which starts

(08:50):
soon.
And there's a free quiz and afree Discover intuitive reiki
webinar.
Great places for you to getstarted.
If you're feeling curious, youdon't have to be perfect or have
it all figured out.
You just need to be open andwilling.
Thank you for spending thistime with me.

(09:11):
If something in this episoderesonated, please feel free to
share it with someone you careabout.

possible.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
