Jesus walked into the most sacred religious site on the planet and took charge. He started to help the people see that the people had twisted what God created for good and that its time was over. There was a new temple in town and it wasn't made of stones and gold. John 2:13-22.

Jesus' first miracle was a sign. It pointed to His deity and also to what he came to do. Jesus announced that everything was changing at this wedding of a no name couple in the middle of no where. Jesus is the way to true life. John 2:1-12.

What if you had hope that everything wrong in this life would be made right? What could do it? New science, new technology, new religion, new political leader, or something else? For all of history people have been hoping and believing that this new thing would come and fix our world. We have all experienced the effects of “the snake bite,” but do you live with the power of the “snake crusher,” Jesus?

What you say first is important [Just like these first 6 words!]. Today is all about first impressions with people that are different than us and we will be challenged from Acts 10-11 to “get out of God's way.”

Our world today screams for everyone to be included and yet many groups of people feel left out. God has a way of reaching the people many people forget about. In fact, the first Church in Philippi (Acts 16) is a great example of the uncommon community Jesus is creating.

Uniform. Everyone looks like the same. No rough edges. That's common. Jesus came to blow that all up.
