Since The Basketball Tournament (aka TBT) starts up again this week, we felt it apropos to check back in with the man who developed the wildly popular Elam Ending that's used in all TBT games - Dr. Nick Elam.
When last we chatted with Nick (S:2, E:33) he shared the unabridged version of how his eponymous ending came to be and we wound up not having time to discuss his other unique pursuits.
For example, did you know that Nick works on the grounds crew at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park? Or that he had a similar position at Day Air Ballpark, home to the Reds' Class A affiliate Dayton Dragons? And, since we last spoke, he's also joined the scoring staff for the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever, and assists on scoreboard operations for Indiapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium (home to the NFL's Colts and college and high school football, not to mention NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament action). He's also now a Target Score Time Strategist with the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Professional Basketball League.
We caught up with Nick again just about the time the Pacers were heading into the NBA Finals. For more about Nick, please visit his website elamending.com.
