Tracy Cooke (00:00):
God bless you.
This is Prophet Teresana.
Welcome to a Nightingale TVprogram today.
Oh, what a joy it is to comeinto your home.
We know that God is a big Godwith a big plan for you.
Well, I'm gonna draw yourattention to the subject.
Today we're gonna talk aboutidentity.
You know, so many people haveidentity crisis.
They don't know who they are inthe kingdom and they don't know
(00:24):
who Christ is in their life andthe purpose of their existence
on this earth.
So Matthew, chapter 16 versus.
I believe this here, or have itright here Matthew chapter 16,
13 through 16.
Let's read together when Jesuscame into the coast of Syria,
(00:44):
philippi, he asked his disciplessaying who do men say that I
the Son of man am?
And they said some say thatthou are John the Baptist, some
say Elijah, others say Jeremiahor one of the prophets.
And he said to you but whom sayye that I am?
Then Simon Peter, speaking out, answering, said thou our Christ
(01:05):
, the Son of living God.
And Jesus answered and saidunto him bless our thou Simon.
Barren Jonas, for flesh andblood has not revealed it unto
thee, but my Father, which is inheaven.
Now I say also unto thee thatthou our Peter, and upon this
rock I will build my church, andthe gates of hell shall not
(01:26):
prevail against it, and I willgive unto thee the keys of the
kingdom of heaven, andwhatsoever thou shall bound on
earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever thou shall loosen
earth shall be loose in heaven.
These are speaking.
What a profound prophecy toSimon Peter.
He asked his disciples, solet's go over that.
(01:47):
I have a few notes here.
Jesus asked them right afterfeeding multitudes, meeting the
needs with the two fishes andfive burlars.
Now we fast forward to the nextpart of their ministry, and
that scenes of what they'redoing, and Jesus is asking a
(02:08):
question Now, number one didJesus ask this question to test
his disciples?
Very good question.
Did he do this?
Ask them?
Who do men say that I am totest their faith?
What was Jesus looking for inthe life of the disciples?
(02:30):
Well, first and foremost, hewould allow them to see that who
is among you is greater thanthe report that in the town
saying.
Some say that you are Elias, you're Elijah, some say you are
Jeremiah the prophet.
Those that are in the cityspread this that he is Jeremiah
(02:51):
or he's one of the prophets inthe Old Testament.
He had to teach the disciples alesson, a faith.
In a middle of confusion, middle of turmoil.
They had to get repertoryinsight.
In other words, cause until yousee them for yourself.
You're gonna have a testimonyfrom a known one.
(03:13):
But then you left questionyourself do I believe him?
Do I trust him?
Do I wanna walk with him?
And what is my purpose ofserving him?
What is my destination?
Because you're surrounded withidentity crisis and many people
(03:34):
do not know who they are in thekingdom.
So when you get to that place,I'm not knowing who you are in
the kingdom.
Ladies and gentlemen, you haveto understand, first and
foremost, what God's desire todo in your life.
You need to realize, okay, thisis a time like never before
where God wants to be glorifiedin your life.
So he told the disciples afterthey just got through, seeing
(03:57):
the miraculous multiplication oftwo fishing and five barlers.
I'm thousands, my thousand werefed, thousands were healed by
his power, by his special touch.
And now he's walking with thedisciples and there's rumors in
the vicinity where Jesus sat inthe village and said he's asking
his disciples who do men saythat I am, and, one by one, of
(04:23):
the disciples have noinclination of who he was,
although they were seeingmiracles, although they were
seeing healings, the death rays, unstocked, deaf ears, mute
speak, blinded eyes, see leprosy, cleans.
(04:46):
But now they're in a place whereJesus confronting what do you
believe and what do you notbelieve?
He asked the disciple andstopped me and said who do the
men in Jerusalem say I am?
Who did they say I am inGalilee and Capernaum?
Who did they say I am?
Then, one by one, until you getrevelation of him, you're gonna
(05:10):
know him by someone else'sexperience, someone else's
encounter.
But when you have your ownpersonal encounter with him, oh
my God, that's when God changesyour life.
That's when your life changes, when you understand first and
foremost who he is.
What is he saying?
Cause this is a time like neverbefore.
(05:32):
God wants you to draw closer tohim, nudging on your
heartstrings.
Why?
Because he's teaching thedisciples a lesson.
Until you know me, you're gonnabelieve what everyone else is
saying.
You have to have your ownrelationship with Jesus.
(05:53):
Thank God for other people'sexperience and that encounter
with the glory of God and theirrow of Damascus experience, but
you have to have your ownpersonal encounter with Jesus so
you can know who he really is.
In a time of your greatestneeds, when everything is
pounding up against you, whenit's hard to believe or take him
(06:15):
at his word.
When you know him, you cantrust him and stand on his word.
And when I done all I know whatto do, I must stand, put on the
whole armor of God.
So he told us, the disciples.
He said, first of all, he askedthem a question was he testing
their faith?
Was he testing their faith?
(06:36):
When he said, oh right, youhave been with me, you have seen
the miracles, you have seen thesupernatural power of heaven.
You sing Father God display hisglory in the lives of healing,
deliverance, supernaturalmiracles, he said no, I wanna
(06:58):
ask each and every one of youthat I've chosen to be my
disciples.
I'm gonna ask you a question.
So number one was Jesus testingtheir faith?
Yes, he was, and at the time ofhis response he was testing
them, their knowledge of him, testing their faith and
believing him, taking thisopportunity that was spread
(07:22):
throughout the city that he'sJeremiah or he's Elijah or one
of the prophets.
Now he's asked his owndisciples whom he had chosen.
All right, the men in the cityare saying that they're called
down fire upon the falseprophets of Baal.
Others are saying and then apart of their city he's Jeremiah
(07:45):
the weeping prophet, but who doyou say that I am?
You have been around me longerthan nothing and seen great
exploits.
Who do you see that I am?
And one by one.
None of the disciples can askthat question.
(08:07):
I mean they can answer thatquestion.
So, yes, jesus was testing theirfaith.
He was testing their knowledge.
Have you learned anything fromwhat you see?
Have you learned anything fromwhat you have experienced?
Have you learned the God ofmotivation?
Have you learned the God thatstill heals, the God that
(08:31):
cancels out disappointments, theGod that sees you in the lowest
value of life?
Who do you say that I am?
And many times, thecircumstances of life can blind
us to the place where we don'tknow who he is.
We're desiring to know him, butwe're blinded by our
(08:51):
circumstances, or ourcircumstances prophesying our
defeat and our demise, becausewe're looking out around this
and everything seem to be agiant around us.
That's enforcing doubt anddisbelief.
He asked the disciples andtested them by this question
their knowledge and their faith?
Who do you say that I am?
(09:12):
I not only want to hear whatothers are saying.
I want to hear what you got tosay, because you are in the
inward circle, you're theclosest ones to me.
They say I'm Jeremiah.
They say I'm Elijah, I'm one ofthe Old Testament prophets
Malachi, micah but who do you asmy disciples?
(09:39):
Who my chosen to carry on thework and loud?
In other words, he'sreproducing himself and his life
as a disciples.
He wants them to carry on theministry.
That's why he has the twelvedisciples, but he cannot bring
them to the next part of thatministry in their life, even
though they just saw.
They got a multiplication, twofish and five burrows.
(10:00):
Now he's questioned the identityof who he is.
He's questioned, Do you know?
And one by one they hadidentity crisis, their perplex
with such a question.
That's testing them at the veryessence.
They're very cool, they're verybeing, and one by one is said
(10:24):
you're Jeremiah, you're Elias.
Then, finally, the mostoutspoken disciple spoke up and
said thou art Christ, thou artChrist.
He asked them the first one.
(10:44):
He tested their faith.
Who do men say that?
I am John, debath of Jeremiah, elijah.
Then he asked him a secondquestion All right, who am I to
you?
He told Moses, I am that I am,go back to the highest month of
each and tell him I am, that Iam sent you back to deliver my
(11:09):
people by the Egypt bondage outof the control of the Nippon
Lady principality there in Egypt, and set my people free so they
can worship me and throw mewith glory.
Listen, he said, moses, I amthat I am.
I am whatever you need me to be, I am that I am.
(11:31):
Identity crisis can blind you tosee who Christ is in your life.
Your circumstances, yoursurroundings can blind you to it
.
But you've got to know who Godis for the glory of God.
The disciples are asked thefirst question that he tested
their faith and their knowledgewhat are the people saying about
(11:54):
me?
Who do they think I am?
Jeremiah, elijah, john DeBathis one of the prophets.
And then, finally, the mostoutspoken disciple, simon Peter,
stood upon in his feet and saidthou are Christ.
Thou are Christ, the son of theliving God.
You are the son of the mosthigh God.
(12:19):
And Jesus answered and saidunto him bless our thou, simon
Bargeron, for flesh and bloodhath not revealed this unto you,
but my Father in heaven.
Peter began to understand.
I know who he is.
I got a revelation of him.
I saw a revelation who Jesus ishe's the living son of God.
(12:46):
And then it released prophecy.
You see, when you know who heis, you get out of identity
crisis and you get I am what Godsays I am.
I could do what God says I cando.
I could be what God says I'd be.
Everything in my life is goingto be line by line, precept by
precept.
Did you know what it does whenyou get revelation from him?
It releases prophecy, unlocksyour destiny.
Look what he says.
(13:07):
He said also unto thee thatthou art Peter.
And upon this rock, he said youare Peter.
He didn't address him by hisfirst name, Simon.
He said you are Peter.
I pump this rock, I will buildmy church and the gates of hell
(13:27):
shall not prevail against it,and I will give you the keys to
the kingdom.
Whatever you bound in heaven isbound in earth.
What you loosing in heaven, loosing there.
This is such a dynamic prophecyreleased out of Revelation, the
moment that Peter recognized, first and foremost, he's not
Elijah.
He's greater than the fairythat came down from heaven and
(13:51):
smocked the false prophets.
He's not Jeremiah.
He goes beyond the weeping, hegoes all the way to the cross.
God, he loved me, buried him,he rose.
He saved me, carried my sins sofar away.
Give me the right to live alife of success in this earth.
Give me the right to live inthe peace, the serenity of God.
(14:11):
Give me the right and thecovenant, god's guarantee, to
heal me of all my afflictions.
God's guarantee is in thisworld.
When you come to a revelation, who do you say that he is to you
today?
I'm asking you a question.
Only you can answer that who ishe to you today?
(14:34):
You see, I am that I am.
Do you know who he is?
Because until you have apersonal encounter with him, you
won't go based upon whatsomeone else is saying and their
experience and their will.
But you have a God's guaranteeto know him with all your might,
(14:56):
with all your ability, with allyour heart and spirit, soul,
body, mind.
Oh my God, what a powerfulprogram.
Today we're talking about numberone.
Who do men say that I am?
We're talking about identity.
Why is it important?
Every one of you have aphysical address.
You have a thumbprint thatidentifies you.
Over six billion people on thisplanet.
(15:17):
You have your own thumbprintthat identifies who you are.
That leads you to the physicaladdress the house, the presence
of God.
Wow, who do men say that I am?
He's more powerful thanJeremiah, more powerful than
John the Baptist.
He's the son of the living God.
(15:40):
Peter got this revelation, saying he's just not a prophet,
a teacher, a priest he's the sonof the living God.
He's the one all heaven praises.
He's the one that all demonsand devil fear and tremble.
He is the one when you feellike you're in a hopeless
(16:01):
situation.
He becomes your hope.
He is the one when you're lyingin the bed of affliction and
grief and sorrow has surroundedyou.
Depression has become yourgarment.
Your cyclone has becomedarkened by depression.
The moment that you're tryingto hold on to what you don't
know, what you're holding on to,that moment he becomes I am,
(16:27):
that I am Identity, moving outof identity crisis.
Who do you say is?
I'm asking you a question today?
Who is he to you?
Who do you say that he is?
Because until you have your ownrelationship with Him, you're
gonna basically live your wholeentire life off of someone
(16:50):
else's test of mind.
Let God prove Himself to you.
Let God become real to you.
Open your heart to God andallow God to speak to you from
heaven.
Allow God to demonstrate Hispresence and His power to you,
because there's nothing that Godcannot do.
He said "'Blessed are you,peter'".
(17:15):
He didn't dress him as Simon.
Simon was his reef name.
Peter is a rock.
Petrons it's a rock.
So Simon means he was tossingback and forth like the reef in
the bottom of the ocean.
When the current is movingdifferent directions, you may
not can see it, but you can seeit.
(17:35):
When you see that reef beginsto move, you know that's the
direction that the current iscoming, that direction.
So Simon was like a reef in hiswalk.
Many times he was so unsure.
Many times he doubted, manytimes he questioned it.
Many times he gave up.
You say, where did he give up?
He washed their nets after theywere fishing all night and
(17:59):
caught nothing.
So he hung up the nets, he gaveup.
But then Jesus spoke to thesituation where he was giving up
opportunities there, that knockat the door, and said your
heart rising to the occasion, seeing the God, the splendor of
heaven.
Blessed are you, peter.
(18:21):
You are now in a metamorphouschange, a transformation taking
place.
You are now no longer a reefshaking about with every winds
of doctrine, every winds ofopposition, not toss it to him,
for not unstable, adouble-minded man is unstable in
(18:42):
all his ways.
He said you are Peter and uponyou I'm gonna build my church.
You are rock and the gates ofhell shot my, prevailed against
you.
Oh, what a powerful prophecy hereleased, prophecy in Peter's
life, opened up who he was.
(19:03):
He let Peter see himself, brought into identity, his own
identity, so Peter can seehimself like Christ, sees him,
cause he saw Christ as the sonof the living God, not as a
married man, saw him as asupreme God, a sovereign to find
him.
And therefore it unlockedprophecy back into his life and
(19:25):
his ministry.
Upon you.
The gates of hell shall notprevail, shall not prevail.
I will build my church that RPeter and upon this rock talk
about him.
I will build my church, and thegates of hell shall not prevail
(19:46):
.
Oh, my God, god's guaranteethat no matter what you
encounter, what you may face inlife, what is thrown at you,
what comes in your pathway, isGod's guarantee.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm heretelling you today, in a night in
