Ever misheard the lyrics to your favorite worship song? Those funny misinterpretations set the stage for a powerful exploration of what it truly means to hear God's voice in a noisy world.

In this compelling message, we dive into the book of Micah—one of the twelve Minor Prophets whose small book carries an enormous message. Micah, an ordinary person from a small town outside Jerusalem, received an extraordinary vision: for the first time in biblical history, God declared that destruction would come to Jerusalem if its people didn't return to Him. Imagine the courage required to deliver such devastating news to powerful people in the capital city!

Despite the stern warnings, Micah's prophecy wasn't without hope. God promised to preserve a "remnant" of faithful believers who would eventually rise up strong. Throughout history, God has consistently preserved these remnants of faith—people who remain committed to Him despite societal pressures. Many of us stand on the spiritual foundation built by faithful ancestors who prayed for future generations.

At the heart of Micah's message lies a deceptively simple instruction found in Micah 6:8: "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." These three requirements aren't complicated to understand but require genuine character transformation to live out. "Do justice" by treating others fairly. "Love kindness" by genuinely delighting in showing kindness. "Walk humbly" by recognizing who God is and who we are in relation to Him.

Join us on this journey through Micah's timeless message and discover how to stay the course in your walk with God. Don't let the world distort the lyrics of how you follow Jesus—listen to His voice and keep moving forward with Him.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
So I have a question for you, and that is what did
you say?
That's my question today howmany of you love music?
Don't be shy, everybody lovesmusic.
Well, one of the funniestthings about listening to music
is when your friend or yourspouse or somebody in your
family is singing the song andthey actually think the lyrics

(00:21):
are something else when they'renot.
Yeah, okay, don't nudge theperson next to you, but just
what's even more funny is whenit's worship songs, and so this
morning, I want to share a fewof those with you that people
think it sounds like, but it'sactually not One of the songs
that we sing.
It's a newer song.
It'll say there is no waste atthe altar, and people will sing

(00:45):
there is no place at the altar.
It doesn't even make sense.
Like God wants you to come, sothere's always room for you here
, but they'll say there's noplace at the altar.
Another one is bless the Lord,o my soul, o my soul.
Worship his holy name.
Sing like never before.
Some people will sing sin likenever before.
Maybe they feel better if theysay that.

(01:09):
Another line from a song is I ama friend of God.
He calls me friend.
Some people say I am a friendof God.
He calls me Fred.
If your name is Fred, you arevery blessed this morning.
Another line is you give me joy.
That's unspeakable.
Some people sing you give mejoy.
That's on speakerphone.

(01:30):
Another one is your praise willever be on my lips.
Some people sing your phrasewill ever be on my lips.
And the last one I have is Godis on the move.
Some people will say God is onthe move.
Some people will say God is onthe moon.
So pronunciation is key, right, and my question is what did you

(01:51):
say?
Well, I want to welcome you toCornerstone this morning.
My name is Celeste and I'mmarried to the guy that was on
the video, jay.
He's out of the country todayand so I am here with you.
It's going to be a great day,but I am so glad that you are
here.
One of the things we strive todo here is to be more like Jesus
.
Okay, let's just be real.
It's hard, be real.

(02:13):
Just getting here this morning,I had to repent to the Lord and
I had to be more like Jesus, because you just get in those
moments where you're just like,ah, I needed to be there 10
minutes earlier or 15 minutesearlier.
And here I am and I'm just gladI made it Right.
Well, I'm glad that I made itbecause I'm up here, so I mean
that worked out.

(02:34):
But I want to be more likeJesus every day, and that's our
motto.
Here we have a photo of us, ofJesus and the disciples, walking
with him.
The reason we show you this isbecause when you're moving
together with the Lord, nobodylikes the one that's like
running ahead.
It's like, hey, get back here.
Okay, what are you doing?
You're trying to prove you'rethe winner out there.

(02:55):
So we want to stay with Jesus.
We also don't like the onewho's like straggling behind,
because it just slows everybodydown right.
So this picture represents usas a family of God moving with
the Lord.
We don't want to miss out onwhat he has.
He has a lot in store for us,and so we don't want to be the
one straggling and we don't wantto be the one running ahead,

(03:15):
but we want to be walking withJesus every step of the way.
We love God, we make disciplesand we reach the world.
Our session of life groups iscoming to a close and we're
going to have some new onescoming up, but how many of you
have been blessed in these lastseveral weeks of life groups?
You've just said yes, I'm soglad I attended.
I am.
We've had prayer on Wednesdaynights and we pray for you, so

(03:37):
you better be grateful thatthere are life groups taking
place.
We pray for you, but, man, there has been some really great
life groups happening and sothere'll be another session of
them coming up.
Don't miss out.
Don't miss out.
I love Sunday mornings, butthere's something about a life
group that changes your life, and so we want you to be
invested.
We're starting a new seriestoday.

(03:58):
It is called the Minor Profits, and so, if you have a way of
taking notes, I encourage you topull out something, or you can
use notes on your phone.
But we're going to start todayon minor prophets.
I want to start with this whatis a prophet?
Well, a prophet is themouthpiece of God.

(04:18):
That's what a prophet is.
They are the ones who deliverGod's message and will to the
people.
Okay, so we have a lot ofprophets in the Bible that were
in the Old Testament, and therewas two types of people.
In the Old Testament, you wouldsee a priest, and what the
priest would do is they wouldspeak to God on behalf of the
people.
So if you saw a priest in theOld Testament, that was their

(04:42):
job.
They would go to God on yourbehalf.
Saw a priest in the OldTestament, that was their job.
They would go to God on yourbehalf.
The difference is that aprophet would speak to you on
behalf of God, and so that'swhat they would do.
They would come and tell youwhat God is saying.
Well, what is a minor prophet?
There's minor, and then we callsome major prophets the minor
prophet.
All it does is it refers to thesize of the message.

(05:05):
So if you take your OldTestament and you just kind of
flip through that front half ofthe Bible, you will see that
there's a lot of tiny littlebooks.
Towards the end, after Proverbsand Psalms and Isaiah, you'll
start to get through some littleones.
We have 12 minor prophets thatare in the Old Testament.
The book of Micah, which I'mgoing to share on today, is the

(05:27):
sixth book in those small ones.
Now, just because they'recalled minor prophets does not
mean that their message was notsignificant.
You know this right.
Their message was veryimportant.
It's just that it was smallerin what they had to deliver to
the people, so we call them aminor prophet.
How did God speak to theprophets?

(05:48):
Well, he spoke several ways.
For some, they had verbalcommunication.
How many of you wish that Godwould just say it to you really
loud, so you just knew.
So that's how Moses was onMount Sinai.
He heard the audible voice ofGod.
For other people, you might seeit, and see it in a vision.
You might see it in a dream.
You might have an angelicmessage come to you.

(06:10):
There are other ways that youcan hear from God as well, but
all of the ways that you hearfrom God, they all include
guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Okay, so the Holy Spirit'sliving in you, moving in you.
We've talked about the HolySpirit in the last few weeks.
We told you that when Jesusleft and he went back to heaven,

(06:32):
what did he say?
It is good for me to leave, because then you're going to get
the helper, you're going to getthe Holy Spirit, and so that's
what we have.
The Holy Spirit guides us andhelps us understand the way God
is speaking to us.
So today we're going to startlooking at what Micah spoke to
the people, and my questionagain is what did you say?

(06:54):
If you have your Bible, open itto Micah, chapter 6, verse 8.
It says this he has told you, oman, what is good and what does
the Lord require of you, but todo justice and to love kindness
and to walk humbly with yourGod.
To do justice, to love kindnessand to walk humbly with your

(07:16):
God.
Let me tell you a little bitabout Micah.
Micah lived in a small town.
It's called Moresheth and itwas outside of the city.
It was in southern Judah.
So that's like me asking youhow many Buckeye people do I
have in the house?
Yes, so Buckeye is one of thosewhere it's like a little bit

(07:37):
outside the city but closeenough to still say you're in
the city.
Yeah, and so this is whereMicah lived.
He lived outside of the city,in southern Judah.
He also lived at the same timeas Isaiah, so Isaiah was in one
part, he was in another.
The northern and southernkingdoms had split, and they
split a long time ago.
And right now, at this momentof the book of Micah, both of

(08:00):
the kingdoms were violatingtheir covenant with God.
They were just living in sin.
They were doing their own thing, they didn't need God.
Sound familiar.
There's lots of parts of theworld like that right now.
Part of America is like thatright now.
They don't need anything.
And so Micah.

(08:24):
Through visions, god revealed toMicah that the destruction was
coming to Jerusalem and Samariaas a result of Israel's sin.
Okay, this is really important.
If you're reading through thebook of Micah, this is the first
time in the bible ever that Godtold a prophet that there will
be destruction to the city ofJerusalem if they do not get in

(08:45):
alignment with him.
Never before has God ever saidthat he would destroy Jerusalem.
But here he did.
What did you say?
Think about this poor guy,micah.
He's just living his life allright.
He's out in Buckeye, he'shanging out, he's chilling, he's
enjoying life.
I don't know, maybe he had afarm, maybe he was taking care

(09:07):
of things.
He loves God.
He's enjoying his day.
Then, one day, the Lord giveshim a vision, and this vision is
pretty intense.
It's a vision that destructionis going to come to Jerusalem
and Samaria.
Oh great.
What does Micah have to do?

(09:28):
He has to obey.
He gets to be the bearer of badnews.
Nobody likes that person.
Let's just be honest.
Nobody wants to be the personat work who has to tell other
people that they're getting laidoff.
Nobody wants to be that personthat comes and says, oh I'm
sorry, I just hit your car inthe parking lot.
Okay, nobody wants to be thebearer of bad news, but this is

(09:50):
what Micah gets to do.
And Micah, thank the Lord forMicah.
He obeys the Lord and he headsto the city, and what he does is
he starts to remind the peopleabout the Lord.
And what he does is he startsto remind the people about the
Lord.
It says in Micah, chapter 1,verses 2 and 3, here you peoples
, all of you, pay attention, oearth and all that is in it, and

(10:15):
let the Lord, god, be a witnessagainst you, the Lord, from his
holy temple.
For behold, the Lord is comingout of his place and he will
come down and tread upon thehigh places on the earth.
You see, in the vision Micahsaw the Lord coming down from
heaven to earth, but it wasn'tfor a good reason.
The Lord was coming to bringdestruction to two areas because

(10:41):
of their sin.
So if I had to put it intoday's terms, it would be like
this If you're a parent, youwill understand this.
You get a phone call from yourkids.
They're not listening.
Or maybe the other spouse callsand tells you they're not
obeying, and you get on thephone and what do you say?
You just wait until I get home.
Right?

(11:02):
Maybe you have been the kid onthe other side of that phone and
had a parent say you just waittill I get in that door.
This is what the people arehearing from Micah.
He's sitting, he's standingthere in the city and he's
telling them the Lord is comingand he's coming down from heaven

(11:22):
.
Because you are not listening.
I wonder what the people thoughtwhen they heard this.
I wonder what was going throughtheir mind.
I think some of them probablythought you know what?
We're not as bad as the othercountries around us, so why is
he picking on us?
Look at all these other people.
Let me tell you sin is sin, sowe don't compare our sin to

(11:45):
other people.
We don't say, well, I'm notdoing what they're doing, I'm
just doing this.
Sin is sin, so we don't have tocompare to other people.
If God doesn't want you to doit, don't do it, okay, maybe
other people were thinking whydoes he have to be so negative?
Why does this guy, micah, haveto come in and bring these bad
vibes to the city.
Come on, we just want to be inpeace, we just want to live life

(12:08):
.
This guy, this guy is comingover here causing problems.
But if you listen to the verybeginning of chapter one, this
is what Micah says pay attention, all of you, okay.
I know that there are times inyour household where all of your
kids have to come in front ofyou and you say, okay, child

(12:31):
number one, you're fine, youweren't a part of this, go ahead
.
But number two, three, four, five, however many you have, the
rest of you are in trouble.
This is not what God did.
God said listen, pay attention, all of you, not one of you is
getting away with anythingthat's been taking place here.

(12:52):
And so Micah starts off verystrongly.
He goes on to say arise and go.
It says in Micah 2, verse 10,arise and go, for this is no
place to rest because ofuncleanness that destroys with a
grievous destruction.
What Micah starts to do rightnow is he says listen, all of

(13:13):
you are responsible for what'sabout to happen.
But then let me tell you whatis happening.
One of the things that'shappening is that we have false
prophets in the area.
Did you know?
There were other prophetswalking around, but obviously
they weren't listening very wellbecause God had to go get
somebody outside of theterritory and bring them in.

(13:33):
And so there's false prophetsand they are doing their thing.
They were very corrupt.
They were offering promises ofGod's protection to anyone who
could afford to pay them.
I want you to think about that.
Anyone who could afford to paythem, they would tell you
whatever it is you want to hear.
People will say whatever youwant, just for money.

(14:02):
In verse 10, micah exposes thelies of the false prophets and
he says this there is no placeto rest, there is no place for
you.
False prophets' words aredefiled and they bring
destruction.
They are filled with unrest andfrustration and emptiness.
Maybe you're living your liferight now and you feel like

(14:27):
there's a lot of outside voicesgoing on and you feel like you
can't get clarity of mind insome things.
I want to challenge you withwhat voices are you listening to
right now?
Are you listening to all thepeople's opinions or are you
listening to Father God, who istrying to show you what you're

(14:47):
supposed to be doing?
Destruction is coming.
Micah says.
The power of the sovereign Lordwill fight against you and not
for you.
What did you say?
What did you say at this point?
People had to be feeling avariety of emotions.

(15:10):
You're standing out there andyou're hearing this.
Maybe you're angry.
How could this be?
How could God be talking to me?
I didn't even do anything much.
I didn't do much about this.
Maybe you're feelingembarrassed.
How did I remove God from mylife?
How did I go from here to here?

(15:31):
Maybe you're feeling scared.
What's going to happen now?
Is God really going to do whathe said he was going to do?
And these type of emotions willcause people to cry to the Lord
.
In the next chapter, micah 3,verse 4, says they, the people,
will cry to the Lord, but hewill not answer them.

(15:53):
He will hide his face from themat that time because they have
made their deeds evil.
There is never a day that goesby that I do not need God in my
life.
I want you to think about that.

(16:26):
There's not a day that goes bythat I do not need God in my
life.
I cannot imagine what wouldhappen if I cried out to the
Lord and he didn't answer me.
There's moments in your journeywith Jesus when you feel like
you're having a dry spell, butit's different than God actually
not wanting anything to do withthe conversation that you're
having with him.
If I was up here talking tosomebody and I was doing all the
talking and they didn't evenrespond, it would be a horrible

(16:49):
conversation.
I'd be like I'm not hanging outwith that person anymore.
I'm doing all the talking andMicah tells them listen, he's
not even going to answer you ifyou keep doing what you're doing
.
Verse four goes on to say hewould even hide his face from

(17:11):
you.
Every Sunday, at the close ofservice, we speak a scripture
over you before you leave out ofnumber 625 says the Lord make
his face to shine upon you andto be gracious to you.
The scripture comes out of theold testament.
It's actually what the priestsused to do with the people.
They used to speak thescripture over them.

(17:33):
And here we have Micah who'ssaying the complete opposite of
that.
He's saying when you cry, hewill not answer you and he won't
even look at you.
That would be enough for me tostop whatever dumb thing I am

(18:01):
doing and get my life right withGod immediately.
Let me tell you something youcannot make it without God you
can't.
You can try.
There will be moments andseasons where maybe you're
successful at something, but itwill end and you will not be
able to make it without thecreator of the world in your

(18:24):
life.
You are created by God.
Not only are you created by him, you're made in his image.
That means you're a reflectionof the Father.
He took time to create you andyou are made in his image.
He knows you better than youknow yourself.
You cannot make it without him.

(18:46):
What did you say?
Micah not only brought a strongword, but he also shared hope.
It says in Micah, chapter 4,verse 2, and prophecy shifted

(19:23):
from despair to hope.
And Micah even prophesied thatthe Lord would rule in Mount
Zion in the last days.
That's amazing.
He says at the beginning thathe will destroy the city if they
don't shape up, and then hesays actually this place is

(19:44):
going to be where Jesus rulesand reigns.
In the end he shall judge Micah.
Chapter four, verse three, sayshe shall judge between many
peoples and shall decidedisputes for strong nations far
away, and they shall beat theirswords into plowshares and their
spears into pruning hooks.

(20:04):
Nation shall not lift up swordagainst nation, neither shall
they learn war anymore.
That's going to be a day, letme tell you, that's going to be
a beautiful day.
Nations will journey there.
They're going to journey toJerusalem to learn God's law
instead of taking up swordsagainst each other.
All nations, all nations, willsubmit to God's law and live

(20:30):
life accordingly.
If you turn on the news at anytime now in today's society,
you'll see that, country againstcountry, all kinds of chaos,
things going on.
I can't wait for this day whenthere will be complete peace and
all nations will submit toGod's law.

(20:52):
What did you say?
It's true.
How can this be?
There's something Micah mentionsin his prophecy and that is
about the remnant.
If you look at chapter 2, verse12, it says I will surely
assemble all of you, o Jacob, Iwill gather the remnant of

(21:14):
Israel and I will set themtogether like sheep in a fold,
like a flock in its pasture, anoisy multitude of men.
The Lord will gather theremnant.
Do you know what a remnant is?
A remnant is a small remainingquantity of something Most

(21:36):
likely.
If you took your familyheritage and went back, you
would find God preserving aremnant of believers in your
life who prayed for you, and youare here because of them.
Because that's what God does hepreserves the remnant.

(21:56):
Though judgment was promised, they were still not beyond the
grace and the goodness of God.
So the Lord is angry.
So the Lord is angry.
He's told Micah in a visionthat he's going to destroy this
part of the cities.
And he comes in strong and hetells him listen, you got to

(22:19):
shape up, you got to get yourlife right, you got to look to
me again.
And then he gives them hope andhe says listen, I'm going to
take this remnant and I promiseI'm going to restore the remnant
of Israel.
And I love this part of thescripture.
It says they're a noisymultitude of men.
Noisy that means they're notembarrassed, they're not shy,

(22:42):
but they're bold as a lion.
And there's not a few of them.
It says there's a multitude ofthem.
So that tells me that theremnant that he preserves is
going to multiply and morebelievers are going to keep
getting added Because of God'sgoodness and grace.
It says in Micah, chapter 5,verses 8 and 9.

(23:04):
And the remnant of Jacob shallbe among the nations, in the
midst of many peoples, like alion among the beasts of the
forest, like a young lion amongthe flocks of sheep which, when
it goes through, treads down andtears in pieces and there is
none to deliver.
Your hand shall be lifted upover your adversaries and all

(23:26):
your enemies shall be cut off.
Over your adversaries and allyour enemies shall be cut off,
because when God delivers theremnant out of Israel, they will
rise up and they will be strong.
If you can survive adestruction to a city and still
be a remaining believer, youwill be strong.
But what must they do?
But what must they do?

(23:50):
The hearts of God's people wereso lost in sin that they had no
idea how to relate to God or toone another.
And scripture says that in Micah6, the Lord mentions three
things that he wants them to do.
He wants them to do justice, love kindly and walk humbly.

(24:11):
He has told you, oh man, whatis good and what does the Lord
require of you?
But to do justice and to lovekindness and to walk humbly with
your God.
You see, what God is askingthem to do is not complicated.
You look at those three thingsand you're like mm.

(24:31):
It's pretty easy, is it?
He's telling them this is whatis good, these three things to
do justice.
What does that mean it means totreat other people the way you
want to be treated, and not inyour angry state Right, not when
you're mad, that's not how wetreat other people.

(24:52):
But in your following Jesusstate, treat others how you want
to be treated.
It's simple Act in a just, fairway towards others.
In layman's terms just do theright thing, just do the right
thing.
We have enough people in theworld doing the wrong thing.
Just do the right thing.

(25:13):
Okay, do justice.
The other thing he says is tolove kindness.
Okay, don't just show kindnessto other people.
Okay, don't just show it, butlove to show kindness.
Let me give you an example.
Have you ever had someone dosomething kind for you but their

(25:35):
face does not say that they areexcited to be doing this?
And you're like.
I think I would have rather notbeen shown kindness if this is
what I was getting with it Everhad that.
I have a daughter.
She will probably be frustratedthat I share this, but when she
was a toddler she was feisty.

(25:57):
She was like her dad in everyway and that child I literally
just a lot of prayer went intoher a lot.
Now that you see her, you'relike.
I could never imagine thisbecause she's the sweetest girl.
But it all came out in theearly years and so the girl you

(26:19):
see now is just like amazing.
The girl that our parish churchsaw was just like who is this
child?
And one time I was holding her,she was about three and Jay and
I were talking to a gradstudent.
His name is Guy.
Guy was amazing.
He would serve at the churchfaithfully every single week.
He was from Africa and he cameto Paris for his grad degree and

(26:42):
while he was there he wouldcome early and stay late.
He helped with the youth.
He just did a lot of things.
So we're having a conversationafter church and I've got my
daughter in my arms and I'mholding her and I don't know
what she did, but she didsomething really mean to him.
And Jay said Shiloh, say sorryto Guy that was his name and

(27:06):
just like a beautiful littlethree-year-old girl, she's like
sorry, guy.
And we're like, oh, it's sosweet.
And then you could count tothree.
And all of a sudden she's likeI am not sorry to you, gi.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, we'relosing with this one.
Every day we're losing, butwhen you show kindness, do it
with love.
Do it with love.

(27:28):
There's a song called Kill themWith Kindness.
Now, please don't kill people.
But the entire song is justsaying listen, give out so much
kindness that other people won'teven know what to do with it,
because you just keep giving it.
You just keep giving it.
Do it in love.
And number three walk humbly.

(27:49):
You know that humility starts inthe heart.
It starts in the heart.
Humility is this.
It's not a secret, but I'mgoing to give you it in case you
don't know.
Humility is just knowing whoGod is.
You are not God, he is, you arethis, and he is everything.

(28:14):
That should keep you humble.
You don't know everything.
I'm sorry you don't.
You will mess up.
We sin every day.
You don't even have to teachkids how to sin.
All of a sudden, your kid hitssomebody and they're like hey,
your kid just hit my kid.
My kid would never hit anybody.

(28:34):
Well, they did.
I would never show them how tohit.
Well, they don't need you toshow them, they just do it.
Walk humbly.
Remember who your God is.
Walk humbly when you're busy.
Walk humbly when you're tired.
Walk humbly when you're doingyour devotions.
Walk humbly when you're tired.

(28:54):
Walk humbly when you're doingyour devotions.
Walk humbly when you're atevents.
Walk humbly when you're dealingwith family and friends and co
-workers.
Walk humbly when you're on themountaintop.
And walk humbly when you'restruggling humbly.

(29:20):
What did you say?
God was asking the people?
He wanted them to have acharacter transformation.
That's all it is.
It's a character transformationand it happens to be one of our
church mottos.
Our logo we have it on a shirtsays be more like Jesus.
It is not easy to do, but westrive every single day to be
more like him.

(29:43):
Michael was sent to tell thepeople that if they did not
change their ways, the resultswould be severe, and the same is
true today.
You see, the desire of ourleadership here at the church is
that your life is changed byhim.

(30:04):
It breaks our heart when we seepatterns being repeated because
we pray and we pray and we pray.
God intervene, god intervene.
Make them more like you.

(30:25):
Take those desires of the worldout of them.
We want to see you walk infreedom and victory.
We want to see you get rid ofbad habits and stop separating
yourself from the Lord.
We want to see you completelychanged, as in the beginning
when I talked about sometimeshow people get the lyrics wrong

(30:45):
in a song.
Don't let the world or theenemy tell you what God is
saying, but you need to listento God yourself.
Don't let other people come inwith an opinion or an idea, or

(31:06):
they heard something and you runwith it, but you listen to him
and him alone.
Don't let the lyrics of the wayyou follow Jesus get messed up
by everybody around you, but youstay the course and you keep
moving with him.
I'm going to invite the worshipteam to come up this morning.
If you're following the Lord, the simple steps are this Do

(31:30):
justice, love, kindness and walkhumbly.
It seems easy, but yet if youwake up tomorrow morning, you
just put those three things onyour phone or you put them on
your fridge and you're like, okay, I could do this.
It's hard, it's hard, but, man,we want to be more like him in

(31:52):
every way.
Maybe you're here today andyou're like man.
I just got invited to church.
I don't even know what all thisis even about.
I'm glad you're here.
We love having guests with us.
Maybe you've been followingJesus for a long time and maybe
you fell away from the Lord atsome point, but you're here and
I'm excited for that.

(32:13):
If you stand with me, I want toask this question have you
embraced Jesus?
If you're here today and you'venever had the opportunity to
ask Jesus into your heart, today's your day.
You'll see a picture of a cross, and this cross means a lot to
believers around the world.
This cross represents freedom.

(32:35):
This cross represents victory.
This cross represents healingand wholeness.
It represents freedom and asecond chance at eternity, and
all God asks is that you believe.
Romans, chapter 10, verse 9 and10, says it's really simple.
There's no steps that you haveto take other than just to say

(33:16):
God, I believe that you're theLord, and you ask him to live in
your life.
That's it.
So I'm going to say a prayerthis morning to ask you to just
bow your head and close youreyes for a moment, out of
respect to maybe somebody nearyou that's thinking about this.
And if you're here today andyou say you know what I need to

(33:38):
get my life right with God.
Maybe I've never asked him intomy heart, maybe it's been a
long time and I haven't reallybeen following him.
I'm just going to ask that youslip your hand up.
I'm the only one that can seeyou, but I just want to pray.
I'm not going to embarrass you.
Amen, yeah, amen.
God is so good.
I'm going to have everybodyrepeat this prayer after me.

(33:58):
God, thank you for loving me.
Thank you for sending Jesus.
I believe Jesus rose again.
Forgive me of my sins.

(34:18):
I surrender my life to you InChrist's name, amen, amen.
God is good If you made thatdecision today.
I have some gentlemen in theback.
They would love to put a Biblein your hands.
They would also answer anyquestions that you have, but we
want you to be part of a church.
It is hard to follow Jesus byyourself, and so you need a

(34:41):
family of faith to move forwardwith.
So if you live in the area, weinvite you to be part of this
church.
If you're not, from here, finda church where you are, a
Bible-believing church that youcan grow in your journey with
Jesus.
Well, I want to tell you this Dojustice, love, kindness, walk
humbly Seems easy.
I don't know where you're at inlife right now, but this altar

(35:04):
is open for you.
I want to tell you somethingabout the altar that's so
precious.
It's not a place of judgmentokay, it's not, and that will be
a lie from the enemy to tellyou that it's a place of
judgment.
It's not, but it's a placewhere you just get to go.
And I always say you're closerto Jesus if you're at the front.
That's how I feel.

(35:24):
So you just want to come allthe way up.
You're going to get close toJesus, but you just want to be
there and it's an action stepthat you're taking.
That's like man, this be morelike Jesus thing.
It's really hard and I want tobe more like Jesus.
So, lord, take all the thingsout of me that are just a
hindrance or that are kind ofveering me the wrong way, and

(35:47):
just put me back in alignment soI can focus and get where I'm
supposed to go, because he has aplan, he has a plan.
And so, lord, I pray right nowover everyone in this place.
Lord, you're so gracious withus.
You're amazing.
You are patient and loving.

(36:07):
There's times we give up onourselves and you're still there
saying come on, you can do it.
So I pray this morning, lord,as we really desire to have a
character transformation.
Our desire is to be more likeyou.
Help us, even the things wedon't see help us.

(36:28):
And so, lord, I pray, as thisaltar is open that you would
move in your kids In the mightyname of Jesus.
Amen, stand with me as we getready to close.
How many of you are grateful forthe Lord?
Amen?
Yeah, he's good.
There are a lot of eventstaking place.
We still have some stuff thissummer.

(36:48):
Go on the app.
You'll find everything you need.
If you have questions, call theoffice.
We have a fantastic team thatwill answer any questions you
may have.
But I want to speak thisblessing over you the Lord bless
you and keep you.
The Lord make his face to shineupon you and be gracious to you
.
The Lord lift up hiscountenance upon you and give

(37:10):
you peace.
Father, go with us.
We are grateful for you.
I pray that you give us amazingopportunities this week to be
Jesus with skin on.
Help us, lord, guide us everystep of the way.
We love you and we honor you InJesus' name.
Amen, remember we love you here.
