Mexico, it's been a long we've not left each other's side.
I know, but that's all about to change this morning.
Are you sad? I'm very sad we've come to the
end of our holiday. We've been here for nearly three
weeks and it's been heavenly. But now Lachy's flying to

Nashville into a snowstorm, which we've fun.
Yeah, America is. It's having polar opposite
experiences at the moment. It's in all sorts.
It's LA is obviously having those tragic fires.
Which is it in mind blowing? I was messaging.
So we, I, we went to Malibu thisyear or last year, last year we

went all along that road and I actually did a podcast there.
And so to see that place is completely burnt down now is
mind blowing. Yeah, I've seen a friend of ours
in the industries, his house andstudio burnt to the ground some,
you know, some Shepherd songs written there.
So it's pretty sad. Yeah, it's pretty scary.

But you know, we'll keep an eye out on how we can help, even if
it is just buying someone a hotel room for a.
Night it's going to be interesting to see how it
recovers from that. That's what I'm interested to
see. So fingers crossed it all comes
together. Then on the flip side, so flying
into Nashville, Nashville, we'vehad some buddies here who are at

Emma's wedding, which is the reason why we're in Mexico.
They were saying, oh, there's meant to be ice storms in ice
warnings in Nashville and in Dallas where I'm flying to 1st.
And I was like, really? And then I saw Nashville is
bucketing down. It's meant to get like 7 inches
of snow. So I'm hoping.
And Nashville isn't one of thosecities that is equipped to deal

with snow. Which is weird because this is
the second year. Last year it bucketed down too.
So. I'm sure it's not the like the
second time, it's history. They have to bring in plows from
other cities and states to. Mr. Plow.

Yeah, yeah. So anyway, how are you feeling

about embarking on this 58 marathon?
58 days? How many days till you start?
It's like what is today? Today's the 11th, so I start on
the 22nd. It's the 11th in America, it's
the 12th in Australia. I am excited.
I've done all I can do really. Like physically you're ready.

I'm I'm either ready or I'm not ready.
I feel like I'm ready, but we'llfind out.
There's a few things I need to do to prepare.
Like we obviously are going early because I want to set up
the van, get the Starling set up, set up the bed.
We realized yesterday we walked into a shop Amy and I did and it
smelt lovely. So I said I'm going to get some
nice fragrances for the boys so it doesn't smell like a frat

house and but I also need to getconditioned to running in the
snow again. I think last year I was very
fortunate because we got there what at start of October I think
and it was still warm at that point.
So we got to, I guess, adjust orclimatize with it as it got
cooler. Whereas this year I'm just going

from like summer in Australia where it's like 40°C, beautiful,
maybe 100°F. Sorry, summer in Nashville,
summer in Australia, and then winter in Mexico, which is still
like summer. Yeah, it's very in some places
like 25°C, so maybe like 70°F. So it's been warm.
So that's going to be the one challenge is going back to the

snow, trying to find a snow gear.
I've got 25 K tomorrow, so we'llfind out.
I'll find out pretty quickly what I need and what I.
Need to run. Shelby, probably, Yeah.
I'll probably just run from where we're staying to Shelby
Bottoms and back. Yeah, because I don't know
whether you can drive anywhere in that snow, Definitely not

with our car. No, you won't be.
I'll. I'll run and I'll just see
because it'll let me know if theshoes that I've got are
waterproof. If the gloves that I've got,
I've got to find them. We've got to go to the storage
unit and dig that up. But aside from that, I've been
given, I've been given some shots I need to collect for the

documentary, so I'm making a documentary out of it.

Because our videographer doesn'tget here obviously until we
start. So he's like you've got to
you've got to film saying goodbye to Amy, you've got to
film Good St. going to the airport.
You got to film all of these things because they could be
useful for the documentary. So I'm going to obviously be a

No, they're going to get the bigtears.
How do you feel though, because it is potentially so at worst
it's going to be, well, today's the 11th.
I either won't see you until well, there's three options are
actually now can we talk about the tour or no, just.

Say a tour, Yeah. There's a tour happening and at
the moment it's half a tour, which means Amy will be on tour
from the 4th to the 16th of March in the USA, in the USA and
I finish in Australia on the 20th of March.
So if Amy, if they're doing thathalf the tour ideal, in an ideal

world, Amy will come over a weekbefore and we'll catch up, which
means it'll be six weeks until we see each other.
Still a long time. Still a long time, but six weeks
is a lot easier to get my head around than the alternative.
The second option is Amy doesn'tdo the tour and we won't see
her. I won't see you until Brisbane

on March 20 or maybe March 19, which is essentially 70 days,
which is 8 weeks. OK.
And the third option, which I don't know where the aim is even
aware is if you get the full tour, you probably won't see me
for two weeks after. Oh my.
Goodness. When I finish and by them, we'll

probably just meet you in Europefor that tour.
That's crazy. So this could be wild.
And the, I think the hardest thing that people don't realize
why it's going to be the hardestthing is the fact that we're
still going through the IVF process.
Yeah. So not being kind of.
Impossible to have a baby when your partner's not there.
So we didn't time this very well.

Well, it's just, it's not that. It's just that, you know?
12 months ago when we planned this, like the Run, started
playing the Run, we weren't doing IVF right and the tour.
And then tours pop up and you didn't know the timing and it's
like trying to make, it's like trying to herd cats, really
trying to make all the stars align.

And the scheduling is crazy. Yeah, it's pretty, pretty
challenging. But our biggest goal in 2025 is.
To have a baby, yeah, Well, to at least be pregnant because,
yeah, it might take some time. But also I don't think there's
really a goal that we can have control over in in saying it's a

goal of ours. It's in terms of putting that as
a priority. Yeah, I, I, yeah, exactly that.
I think after this first quarter, which is already
chaotic and had pre commitments,I think every decision will be
will it help us with the main goal or will it not?
We'll probably be the questions that we asked.

Yeah. So yeah, that's going to be
challenging. I I think as well, like because
I know how well don't actually know, but I feel like it's a
deeply personal and emotional thing, the IVF, because you also
don't know what's going to happen and the fact that I won't
be there to go through it with you, you feel kind of like a
shit dude. Yeah, well, it's not your fault,

and it's just the sacrifices youhave to make to make all of your
dreams come true. And I think it'll make the
payoff even sweeter when we get there.
But yeah, I've got to do part ofthe IVF cycle by myself and
potentially the next cycle depending on what we decide.

So it's going to be an interesting ride.
But luckily I've got amazing family.
I mean, Emma will be there for alot of it.
Yeah, there's FaceTime which will help.
Yeah, well, it takes us back to the beginning of our
relationship. Before FaceTime even existed, we

were using a thing called Snapchat.
I know a lot of the young peopleon here listening know what
Snapchat is. They're using Snapchat.
Yeah, I don't really use it, butwe used to use it because when
you would essentially it's like a.
There was like. Photo sharing platform.
Yeah, there was only Skype, There was no thing, no such

thing as FaceTime when we said. Skype you had to pay to use and
we were too stingy. Yeah.
So we'd just go and we realized that Snapchat had this new
feature where you a circle wouldappear if you were on your
friend was online and you'd holdit down and if you're holding it
down at the same time. It would video call, yeah.
And there was like a portal it would open like a small circle
on the screen that you could talk through.

And we used to, like, hold on toit for hours.
And that's essentially how we started dating.
Yeah, we would spend hours because Amy was touring, I was
back in Tomba, so we'd just like, lay on the phone talking.
And it used to be so frustratingbecause you'd have to hold
pressure on it to allow the conversation.
And we'd be talking for so long that like, your thumb would get

sore and it'd lose a little bit of pressure and it'd shut the
call off or you'd just fall asleep and it'd just like shut
the pressure off. And eventually they brought it
in where you could hold it down and swipe like left or right and
it locked it. And then you had a call.
And then obviously Apple said, hey, video calls, genius.
And here we are. So video calls are awesome.

However, I think I do really wish you were coming on it, if
I'm being honest. I think it would have been such
a fun experience. Like part of me says like it'll
be boring as batshit for you because I'm running for four
hours plus and then we're driving.
Prepping and cooking I could be doing all sorts of things.
Yeah, but I think it at the sametime, it'll still be like seeing

the country in the way so many people never get to see it.
Yeah, and I think it's a great boys trip.
I think it's so rare that you get to do those boys slash girls
trips. And I think it's one that you're
gonna remember forever and it's never happening again.

this run will lead to a lot of alot of other opportunities
potentially that will help us achieve other goals in our life.

what happens if I don't want to talk into existence?
But if there is a logistical snowstorm or something like
that, are you going to do you divert the run, keep going like
just it might be 60 days or do you?

No, no, no, no, start again. So we can't.
We've got 10s of thousands of dollars worth of flights booked
leaving from San Diego on the 12th of January, March.
So whatever happens has to I'm going to run a marathon every
day regardless, even if it meansI've run, say, for example,

Colorado's get stuck in a snowstorm or run as many
marathons as I need to in Colorado, but then I'll have to
make up the other. So I'll be doing my back-to-back
marathons. And we've we're going to make
that up as we get to New York because the drives are about two
hours, as opposed to the Midwestand stuff where it's 5-6 hours.
OK, Yeah. So ideally that doesn't happen,
but I'm also prepared to do that, which will be fine.

I think in a weird way I'm hoping for it because I was
saying this to Amy. I'm not worried about doing 58
marathons. That to me doesn't like, feel
scary. I'm not worried about it either.
I, I, I would feel more intimidated if I was doing like
58 kilometers in 58 days becauseI've trained to do the

marathons. I've run plenty of marathons.
So yeah, I, I, part of me was like, hopefully something like
that does happen. So I've really got to like test

And you just when you, it's essentially changed because it's
not like a one or two day. I normally go nuts when you're
away for like 4 days at a hens party or something.

So, or even when I was back in Australia for I think what was
it, 10 days like those things. However, it could, you know,
this run will lead to a lot of alot of other opportunities
potentially that will help us achieve other goals in our life.
So yes, I'm very much looking forward to it.

when when I was running, I was like, I wonder if we're gonna

The the cool thing about Patreon, much like my business

giving for where you're at in your life.
So as you potentially, you know,go into motherhood, like it'll
shift dramatically, I would imagine very similar to how the
Academy when I started it, I waslike 26, seven.
And so I was like focused on different things, had different
priorities. Now as I'm moving into

fatherhood, there's like a lot more dads in the group and
things like that. So that's the cool thing.
And I, I am a big believer for alot of people listening, that
personal branding. I don't know why I'm just
talking about this now, but it'slike an exciting opportunity
because everyone listening is brilliant at so many things and
you can actually invite people into your community because

there's a lot of people wanting the opportunity to be around
like minded people. And that's what Patreon
essentially is, is you sham. What's interesting to you and
and you're focused on and there's a lot of other people
who relate to that and maybe they grow out of it or you grow
out of it and go into a different phase.
But that's cool. One question on your mind for
me. Do you have one before before we

anything on the top of your headyou want to ask me before I go?
Question are you? I was going to say are you
nervous, but I probably already know the answer.

The answer is yes, but you won'tshow it.
I'm definitely nervous, but I'm also like, whatever happens,
I'll be able to deal with, I'll find a way to to deal with it.
And that's probably the biggest thing.
I hope people take away from it.Any adversity in life.
It's not easy, it sucks, it's uncomfortable and what happened,

but the only solution is to finda solution.
I think a popular question people have been asking me is
what happens if I don't want to talk into existence?
But if there is a logistical snowstorm or something like
that, are you going to do you divert the run, keep going like
just it might be 60 days or do you?
(15:30):
No, no, no, no, start again. So we can't.
We've got 10s of thousands of dollars worth of flights booked
leaving from San Diego on the 12th of January, March.
So whatever happens has to I'm going to run a marathon every
day regardless, even if it meansI've run, say, for example,
(15:52):
Colorado's get stuck in a snowstorm or run as many
marathons as I need to in Colorado, but then I'll have to
make up the other. So I'll be doing my back-to-back
marathons. And we've we're going to make
that up as we get to New York because the drives are about two
hours, as opposed to the Midwestand stuff where it's 5-6 hours.
OK, Yeah. So ideally that doesn't happen,
but I'm also prepared to do that, which will be fine.
(16:15):
I think in a weird way I'm hoping for it because I was
saying this to Amy. I'm not worried about doing 58
marathons. That to me doesn't like, feel
scary. I'm not worried about it either.
I, I, I would feel more intimidated if I was doing like
58 kilometers in 58 days becauseI've trained to do the
(16:37):
marathons. I've run plenty of marathons.
So yeah, I, I, part of me was like, hopefully something like
that does happen. So I've really got to like test
myself and, and challenge what Ithink's possible.
So we'll see. We'll see.
