As a trauma therapist, I've witnessed many individuals get emotional and immediately apologize for expressing their feelings. Even in my own work, when I record videos to share something that I’m passionate about, there are moments I feel emotional too. This brings up an important question… when and how is it okay to share our emotions with others, especially with children.

In this video, I talk about how expressing emotions and allowing ourselves to feel deeply are essential in our healing. I’ll talk about the challenges of reconnecting with our emotions, especially when we’ve spent years reinforcing the opposite belief. I’ll also talk about how we can model healthy emotional expression for our children, and those around us, to begin to shift society’s perspective.

Emotions make us human, and learning to embrace them is a step toward healing. Share your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear how this resonates with you.
