Speaker 1 (00:15):
Welcome to Couture
Conversations, a Couture MedSpa
podcast where we discuss allthings beauty, skincare and
wellness.
Today we're going to be divinginto one of the most powerful
tools in the med spa world theVizia skin analysis.
So if you've ever wonderedwhat's going on beneath your
skin, vizia has the answers, andtoday Rocky is going to give us
(00:36):
some answers.
So we have Rocky with us todayand she is going to be telling
us all about an amazing toolthat we offer at Couture MedSpa
is our Visius Skin Analysis.
But before we dive into that, tell us a little bit about
yourself and how you got intothe med spa world.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Well, hi, thanks,
lindsay.
So I actually started atCouture been about almost five
years now.
I started off as a client carecoordinator.
I originally came from likeretail.
The store I worked at wasclosing down and I always really
liked, you know, likeaesthetics and like the spa
(01:16):
world.
So I gave it a shot and so Istarted off as a client care
coordinator at our Oridolocation and from there we
opened up our Lake Mary locationand I got to go and open that
location up and I was assistantmanager there.
Lake Mary was my home for awhile.
I was their assistant managerfor a little bit and then their
(01:39):
practice administrator and nowI'm the regional manager.
So now I get to go to alllocations.
I get to meet all the teams, get to work, you know, with the
providers, with all the managers, with all the client
coordinators.
I just really and I reallyenjoy the, you know, being able
to see like all the clients andseeing all the differences and
(02:00):
all the locations and like Ifeel like every once you're like
in one spot if you don't get tosee like what everybody else
does.
So I really enjoy like gettingto meet all the new, new people,
um, and getting to work withall the teams, so been here for
for a long time and I'll be herefor a long time nice, keep
growing.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I love it all right.
Well, let's dive right intoVizia.
So give us a little bit ofexplanation about what the Vizia
skin analysis is and kind ofhow it works.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, so the Vizia is
part of our consultation
process.
So when a new client comes intoour locations, you know, before
they see the provider, we putthem in the Vizia machine and
essentially what it does is ittakes three photographs of your
skin and before we even startthe Visia, we, you know, we put
in your demographics, like yourname, age, your skin type,
(02:53):
because the Visia compares yourskin to other people around the
world with your same around, thesame age group, same skin type,
and it compares your skin andwhat it does is it lets us see
basically what's going onbeneath the skin and things that
we can't necessarily see withthe naked eye, um.
So it dives into, you know, wrinkles, sun damage,
(03:15):
pigmentation, um, every redness,um, bacteria, um.
It also can tell you whatyou'll look like at 80 years old
, which is a really cool feature.
That part's really cool.
Yes, it's really cool.
It's like, you know, peoplethink they're not going to age
and you do so.
Here's like a lot of people doit and they're like oh, I look
like my mom or I look like mygrandma.
(03:36):
They're like do you really wantto look like your grandma when
you're 80?
So it has many differentfeatures.
It can tell you how, like how, your true skin age.
So you might be 25, but yourskin age shows that you're 32.
Um, what are you doing to?
You know we all want to agebackwards, not forward it.
(04:07):
You know we Couture offers somany different treatments.
Um, you know, for all clients, all skin types, for all
different things, like it.
It it's the first step in theconsultation process, because it
allows us to create a treatmentplan based off of your skin
needs.
Um, not everybody's the same.
It's not a one size fits all.
Um, everybody has like a customtreatment plan.
So that's how we can really see, like you know, before you meet
(04:28):
with the provider, like, hey, this is what we can offer you,
here's what's going to help yourskin and what we would
recommend.
We can also recommend productsbased based off the Vizia.
So the Vizia gives us a reallybig insight on on your skin with
things that we can'tnecessarily.
There's things that we canrecommend just based off, like
by looking at you, but notsometimes it's you need to get a
(04:50):
deeper, deeper look to seewhat's beneath the skin.
So, because we want to helpfrom the inside, out.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, no, and and
that makes sense, like you were
saying too, it shows a littlebit of everything.
So you know someone might comein and you know their main
concern is some wrinkles aroundtheir eyes, but then when they
do Vizia, you can see all thesun damage that's below there.
You can see like the buildup inbacteria, and it kind of makes
them like, oh, okay, well, maybeI should be working on these
(05:17):
sort of things too.
So it really kind of gives awhole insight on something that
maybe they didn't really, youknow see right off the bat but
then they're like, oh okay,maybe that's something I should
work on too, so very cool.
So what specific skin concernscan Vizia detect that, like, the
naked eye can't see?
So if I'm just looking atsomeone and, oh, their skin
(05:39):
looks like, looks pretty good, what are some things that Vizia
shows that you maybe wouldn'treally be able to see just
looking at someone face?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
to face.
Yeah, so one of the biggestthings that visia, like, is
really good at detecting wouldbe, um, sun damage.
Um, so there's two parts of thevision.
It will show you uv spots andbrown spots.
So it's showing you what's onthe skin surface and what's
beneath the skin.
Um, and that's really good toknow, because, although your
(06:07):
skin might look good, like, wehave clients who sometimes are
like, oh, you know, I go out andtan all the time, or oh no, I
don't need to wear sunscreen, myskin looks fine.
And then we show them like, this is all the sun damage you
have, like below the skin, eventually that sun damage does
come up.
Um, so that's one of like, our, that's one of the biggest
things that I think the viziadoes a really good job of like
(06:29):
pointing out and allowing us tosee is that there, there are not
great things happening beneaththe skin.
Um, and like, how can we fix it?
You know, um, sun damage isespecially in florida.
We get so many clients, youknow, who have so much
underlying sun damage.
Or like, we have clients whoare like, oh well, I used to tan
(06:49):
a lot, you know that when I wasyounger, like in my twenties
and college, um and then.
But now I never go in the sunbut I have all the sun damage.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
We're like yes,
because it's all it's all been
building up and eventually youknow it comes to get you, yeah,
so does it catch up on you quick?
Yeah, so, um.
So what are some particulartreatments that patora med spa
offers that you can do to helpsome of these concerns that show
up in that video skin and now, yeah, so um, vizia, uh, not only
(07:17):
does sun damage but also doeswrinkles, texture, pore size, um
, redness and pigmentation.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
So that's where we're
really like focusing on our
injectables as well as our likelaser treatments.
So we offer our fractionallaser, which is going to be our
skin restricting laser, so thatlaser helps produce collagen, it
helps with fine lines andwrinkles, it helps with any
scars, texture, pores.
That's one of our lasers thatcan also be used in other parts
(07:46):
of the body where you have anyscars or stretch marks, because
it's just resurfacing that areato eventually clear those things
up.
So that's the laser we wouldrecommend.
When somebody's coming in andthey're Vizia, usually a high
score is good, like a test score.
Lower scores are areas that wecan help improve on.
So anybody who's like low in,like the wrinkle or pore size or
(08:07):
texture, fractional is going tobe their, their, their go to
treatment, because that waythat's laser is going to help
resurface as well.
As we want to take care of yourskin outside of just a med spa,
right?
So you do these lasers once amonth on the face.
You want to use TREP on yourskin to help with the texture at
(08:27):
home, which is like aprescription that we offer.
You want to use a good skincareroutine, and Botox and fillers
can also help when they'rescoring low on their wrinkles or
just help freeze that musclemovement, cause we kind of
describe it like a, like a pieceof paper, so like, if you're
(08:51):
constantly wrinkled, like youwrinkling your face cause, you
don't have any Botox in there tostop that muscle movement.
But then you're doing afraction on top.
Yeah, the fraction is going tohelp soften them, but nothing's
out, nothing's stopping thatmuscle from moving, so you're
just continuing that.
So your results are going to bea lot better when you do
treatments in combination, um,and a lot faster as well.
(09:13):
Um, when it comes to sun damage, redness, um, or like
pigmentation in the skin, wehave our IPL, which is intense
pulse light, and that's where, like underlying sun damage also
comes into play, because the IPLcan bring that sun damage up to
the surface and all our lasersare non-ablasive.
So our clients are coming in,they're getting their treatment
(09:35):
done.
You might be a little pink, youknow, for the first 24 hours,
but nobody's going to look atyou and be like, oh my gosh,
because we're max, just blewyour face off like no, um, you
know it's a very, you know we do.
You know it doesn't requiremultiple sessions, because we do
want you to go back to work, wewant you to continue your life,
yeah, your lifestyle.
Um, you know, just put on somesunscreen, yeah, um, but yeah,
(09:57):
always sunscreen, um, but youknow these.
So the, the IPL is bringing upthat sun damage and it I call it
cookie crumbles, where it kindof like they flake off, but it's
like they just get a littledarker, so you notice them, but
nobody's going to look at youand be like your face is flaking
off, like it's not like that,it's a very like small amount.
(10:21):
Yeah, those would be the two wealso offer.
You know, like microneedlingand different facials.
So, depending on, like you know, obviously, if they're scoring
low on texture and wrinkles, microneedling is another
treatment that they canrecommend.
So it's a, it's a.
(10:41):
It's a long list of of thingsthat you can, that you can
recommend, um, and that's whyit's important to know who, who
your client is, who's coming in,what their concerns are.
Um, because the vizia is notonly going to give them okay,
yeah, these are all the thingsthat you're concerned with, but
here's other things that arealso wrong with your skin.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
So it's a lot of
information.
Yeah, I think, one of thebiggest things that are also
wrong with your skin.
So it's a lot of information.
Yeah, I think one of thebiggest things that I love that
you touched on was that it doestake a combination of treatments
for a lot of these things.
So Vizia can really show youokay, yeah, you've got some low
areas in texture, but you'vealso got some low areas in
pigment and you may also havesome low areas and like a lot of
bacteria buildup on the skin.
(11:19):
Doing just one service out ofall of these isn't going to fix
all of these issues and, honestly, out there in the world
, anywhere you go, one specificservice isn't going to fix those
issues to where.
Yeah, it can really show you onthe Vivian like, hey, these are
all these multiple areas and itis going to take a combination
of treatments, whether it isyour lasers and your injectables
(11:42):
and some monthly facials using, you know, your skincare
products at home.
It's going to take acombination of all of these to
reverse those signs of aging inall of these different areas.
So I think it's really goodthat you touched on that.
That video shows you thatthere's all these different
areas, but we do have somethingthat can help with all of these
different areas as well yes, absolutely like.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
I'll share a personal
.
When I first began at Couture,I was like around I think I had
just turned about 20 years oldand I had really bad acne and I
would use every product on theplanet to wash my face the face
mask, the, you know, theexfoliators, like.
I tried million differentbrands and it made it better,
(12:27):
but I still had the acne, Istill had the scarring.
Um, so when I started atCouture, um, you know, I started
doing like the IPLs and thefractional scarring and I would
do like the hydrofacial and myskin like cleared up, like I
mean, I don't think I don't haveany signs of you know like
scarring on my face and it'sjust.
I try to tell clients that, especially when they come in for
(12:49):
acne, I try to tell my like mypersonal experience it's like
it's frustrating, but you'reonly doing one step, I'm only
doing the skincare part.
I wasn't doing any of the otherthings, just like if I was just
doing the lasers but not theskin care part.
If you're, you're gonna getsome result, but you're not
gonna get the full benefit ofseeing it all like happen you
(13:10):
know, like all um.
So it's just, it's a combinationof everything.
It's like, I think skin uh,skin care, skin treatments it's
an investment in yourself.
Um, just like you know, peopleinvest in surgery or things like
that.
Like, if you really want to seeresults, you really have to
invest in good products and goodtreatments to get to where you
want to be.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Yeah, no, I, I
completely agree with you
because, same thing, I can sharethe same story that I mean.
When I first started, I wasfresh out of esthetician school
and I thought I had great skin,my skin was looking good.
I did my Vizia and I was alsokeep in mind.
I grew up in Florida.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
My entire life.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
And if my mom's
listening to this, she can tell
you I hated sunscreen always.
So you know now that I wasbeing good as an esthetician
wearing my sunscreen.
I had those years of sun damage.
My skin was seven years, sevenor eight years older than what I
was and, um, through working, you know, with couture, with the
past almost eight years I, youknow, do all of these treatments
(14:11):
.
I use my good skin care.
Um, the last time I did my vizia, um, I was only two years older
, so taking about six years offof my aging progression of my
skin.
But it definitely I canattribute that to a combination
of everything.
It was IPLs played a huge role.
(14:33):
I had a ton of sun damage.
I had a ton of pigmentation.
You know IPLs.
I still love my IPLs to thisthis day.
I use it as maintenance becauseI know there's still some
damage underneath there.
Um, it's still one of my mylowest scores that I have on my
vizia.
Um, but the cool thing withvizia too, just going back to
being able to show that I hadthat, that change in my skin to
(14:53):
only two years older now is thatyou can do it multiple times so
we can kind of keep track ofthe progress with our clients,
which I think is really cool too.
You know if they're doing thesetreatments or doing making this
investment in their skin to beable to go back and show them.
okay, these are the areas thathave improved.
You know, maybe these areashaven't improved as much.
Let's maybe focus on this alittle bit, which I think is
(15:16):
really cool with Vizia too, thatyou can kind of go back and
show those changes in the skinas well.
Yeah, absolutely yeah.
So as far as Visio goes, isthere any preparation that's
involved for Visio?
Is there anything the clientsneed to do before they come in
or need to know about?
Speaker 2 (15:30):
So we usually try to
let clients know, like
beforehand, because you do getbetter scans when you don't have
anything on the face.
So any makeup or you knowlotions, things like that, you
know.
If a client's able to comewithout that on, that's great.
If not, we can always give thema makeup wipe to remove
(15:51):
anything that they have on.
The Vizia does also have afresh makeup setting.
So if somebody you know is like, oh, I'm coming for a
consultation but I'm going outsomewhere, I just did my makeup,
like that, that's totally fine.
You know, vizia is able to, um,still, you know, do the scans
and there is a setting for that.
Um, but for the most accurateresults we do prefer that you
(16:12):
come in with with nothing on theskin all right about how long
does the vizia take to do thevizia?
is a pretty quick um treatment.
It's probably about the doingthe Vizia itself.
It's about two or three minutesand then going through you know
all the, you know the scans andeverything that it all the
information that it gives you.
I'd say it probably takes about15 minutes, um, and then
(16:37):
obviously, you know we have someclients who like want to know
everything, like I'll tell youeverything you know um, so we'll
go through each one.
But it's very um, it's a pretty, you know it's not a very
time-consuming process.
Um, we also um email out yourresults to you when you come in.
We print them out for you aswell.
So a lot of clients, it's a lotof information, especially when
(16:58):
you've never done treatmentsbefore.
You know it's a lot to take in.
So a lot of clients you knowjust like to have to take it
home.
Look at it.
When you get in your email youdo get recommendations off of
the products that Couture weoffer.
So they can kind of look atthat and be like, okay, you know
(17:20):
the girl was talking aboutfractional.
I see that that's what theyrecommended here and the
products that they recommended.
So it's a really cool tool fornew especially for new clients
coming in.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yeah, I like that you
said that you, you know, email
it to them and get to take ithome, because, again, it is a
lot of information to take outonce, especially when you came
in thinking like, okay, I'mgonna, I'm gonna get this done,
this is what I need.
And then you see all theseother things that you're like,
oh wait this is maybe what Ishould be working on.
So you know, know, I thinkthat's really cool um being able
to tailor it to to theirspecific needs.
(17:56):
Um, yeah, I think you know, sodoes everyone who comes into
couture get a vizia?
Speaker 2 (18:03):
yes, if it is your
first time coming in, for you
know it's your first appointment.
It's part of the consultationprocess.
So usually, like clients know, the consultation process is
about 30 to 45 minutes um,because they do do the vizia,
and then then we take you on atour of the location just to
kind of see everything that weall the rooms, you meet with the
provider and then, of course,if you wanted to do treatment
(18:24):
and such that day, we we bookedthat as well for you.
But, yes, it's part ofeverybody's and and we have
clients who've already you knowthey've been clients for years
or you know they're like hey, Isigned.
When I first signed up they dida Visi on me.
Can I do?
Absolutely we'd love to do oneon you, like, I love to show
(18:44):
them like, hey, you've beencoming here for eight months
consistently and you've beendoing these treatments
consistently.
Let's look at your skin, let'slet's look at your skin
improvement.
Let's look at, let's look atyour scores.
And I think they also love tosee that like hey, like, because
it's different, like when youlook at yourself every day and
again vizia's scanning areasthat we can't see with the naked
(19:06):
eye.
So they can see that like hey, even though you feel like, um,
you're not seeing skinimprovement, like like, look at
these test scores, like, lookhow much less sun damage you
have, look how much lessunderlying sun damage you have,
look at your wrinkles, look atyour pore size.
So, even if you're not a newclient, you know we offer it to
(19:27):
all our clients at no cost tothem to do it.
You know we want them to dosome treatments, of course,
because if you're not doingtreatments then your score's not
going to change.
So you know, once they, youknow they come in, they're
coming in consistently.
You know after six months, after a year, after you know 24
months, like they can continueto do these and see their
(19:49):
improvement on that.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah, I think you
made a really good point too
about how we look at ourselvesevery single day and we're our
biggest critics.
I mean, I have definitely hadclients that, yeah, going off of
that, I had a client that shehad been coming to us for maybe
two, two and a half years.
She had been coming and she waslike I just feel like I have so
(20:13):
much sun damage, like I canstill see my sunspots and she
did.
You know, she still hadsunspots there, she still had
that sun damage, and so I toldher I said, hey, before your
next facial, let's look you fora Vizia before you know, so
we'll go in and do that.
And I think it was almost a 40,it was like a 45% improvement
(20:35):
that she had in her sunspot.
So, yes, they were still there.
I mean, she was probably in herlike early sixties and she had
lived in Florida her whole life.
So there's a lot of sun damageunder there and that is
something that goes to show toothat, going back to needing like
multiple treatments, you didn'tget all of this sun damage or
all of this texture, these linesand wrinkles.
(20:56):
You didn't get all of thoseover the course of one year.
It's been years and decades inthe making that these have been
there and they've beenunderlying in your skin to be
able to stay consistent withthese procedures.
It's going to take multipleprocedures and it's going to
take a plethora of things thatyou know are offered there to be
(21:16):
able to help see that, but itwas something that I could tell
she was very thankful for whenwe went back and looked at it
and she was able to see, like, okay, what I am doing is making
a difference and I am seeingimprovement and, you know,
having having the guidance ofour couture team members, to be
able to, you know, show themlike, hey, we are doing a good
job.
Let's maybe, you know, add thisproduct to your routine to maybe
(21:39):
get a little bit faster results.
Or, you know, stay on the sametrack You're doing good.
It's not going to changeovernight, but I think the idea
of those clients being able tocome back and get those videos
to be able to see where theirimprovements um have been makes
a huge difference as well.
Absolutely, yeah.
I think one of one of thebiggest things that um I noticed
improvement on one my sundamage I did have improvement on
(21:59):
, but was the redness that I hadwith my rosacea and my flare
ups.
Doing the IPLs as well helpedtremendously with that and that
was one of my biggest factorsthat changed on my um.
Vizio, when I did it was my myfirst one I did was like you
just see red everywhere.
It was inflammation everywhere, and doing the IPLs and just
(22:20):
using products that helped tocalm the skin, to soothe the
skin, doing that, vizia, acouple of years later I had
almost no redness on there.
So it is good to be able to seeyeah, you're taking all this
time to come in and get thesetreatments done.
You're paying this money tocome in and get these treatments
done.
You're paying this money tocome in and get these treatments
done, to have a tool like Viziato be able to show that what
(22:40):
you're doing is working and beable to tweak some things if we
need to as well.
I think it is really reallyimportant to the clients,
absolutely.
Yeah, so well, thank you for allof that insight on Vizia.
If you guys want, like Rockysaid, we do free consultations
and Vizia is included in thatconsultation for free.
(23:01):
