And we love you.
Do you off the top of your head.
Remember what year did thePhineas and Ferb DJ show open?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
when you said that, I was like oh, let me wrap my
brain, it had to have been like2012, 2013, ish, like somewhere
around there.
I want to say Do you still workat the Disney parks at all?
I do not.
I think technically somewhere.
I think I'm still employed bythem somehow and some weird fine
print, but no.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
That was me through covid, and then, after covid,
they called and said hey, we'rejust gonna have to trim some fat
here.
I hope you understand.
And I was like, yeah, we arethrowing the cart in front of
the horse again and we have tofirst put you through the ringer
.
We do this with all of ourguests at the beginning of every
episode and it is our 60 secondicebreaker introduction

(06:02):
challenge.
So we read your bio, all theprofessional stuff.
Now we want to hear everythingelse that you can possibly tell
us in under 60 seconds.
Are you up for the challenge?
Oh, I'm ready, bro.
All right, here we go, andthree, two, one.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Okay, I have a puppy named Lance lot.
He's a mini husky.
I love him very much.
I feel like we knew each otherin a past life.
I'm a big fan of anime.
I am also a big video game nerd.
I love all things video gamegamers, all of the good stuff.
You will not meet anotherperson who believes in Bigfoot
more than I do.
Bigfoot is real.

(06:38):
He is my boy.
Don't get me started onanything paranormal.
I love aliens.
I love ghosts.
We have to circle back to thatone ghost honey show that you
did that one time.
All of these things areincredible.
Fun fact I grew up as a gymnast, so I'm a little bendy.
Favorite music let's see.
Let's see.
I'm kind of mainstream trash.

(07:00):
Anything that's on the radio, honestly, as long as it's not
respectfully country, I'll vibe.
I'm what else?
Food, listen, I love a goodprotein bar.
You know this about me.
Anything protein related, putit in my body.
You know what I mean.
A protein shake, a protein bar,a protein cookie, even I don't

(07:21):
know how much time do we have, how we do, when you just hit a
minute, but if you want to keepgoing, how okay great.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Perfect so we have so much to talk about as far as
your career and your music andyour videos, but I need to hear
about Lancelot and yourconnection.
Explain row.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
okay, so Do you have any pets?
Yeah, I do what pet, what kindof pets I?

Speaker 1 (07:45):
have a dog and two cats and a fish perfect.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
do you ever like?
Does your dog ever like?
Look you in the eye and likeyou?
Just, the dog is like, allknowing.
Does that happen to you?

Speaker 1 (07:59):
It does, and the dog that are dog.
He's waiting for a W A L Kbehind me kind of patiently on
the floor, but he holds eyecontact better than any dog I've
ever come across in my life.
It blows my mind.
He will just stare into youreyes for for hours if you let
him.
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
It's not the same way he's the same way and like so
we'll just sit and stare at eachother, like For like 10 minutes
and I just and and and also.
I feel like my mind wanderswhen this happens.
And then, also, just knowinghim, I'm like, oh no, I need to
investigate this.
But we're like past life homies.

(08:38):
I don't know in what capacityjust yet, but for sure, for sure
it was a thing.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
All right.
Well, your YouTube video oryour YouTube channel has how
many subscribers we?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
I think are loosely at 200 ish K.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Okay, you need to do a live stream where you bring in
a medium and you do some sortof say on see magic and find out
if you guys what?
Who was he to you in your pastlife?
Was he a sibling, was he aparent or a pet in the past life
?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Well, that's the best idea I've ever actually heard
in my life.
So Riding that one down, that'sgreat.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Also I don't know if you know this, but I also.
I have another podcast that Ico-host called the magical
mystery hour.
We have to have you as a guest.
We do ghosts, bigfoot, aliens, conspiracies, true crime.
We've been my co-host, amandaBenjamin and I.
We have to have you on.
We're on a break betweenseasons right now, but season
two for sure, but we talked to amedium in season one and she

(09:40):
told us about an experience shehad with a ghost that came back
for his dog and they lefttogether like this ghost and the
dog were connected in the pastlife, like they were together.
What?
Yeah, so it's, it's a totallypossible.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Oh no, yeah, we're doing that too.
We're doing all that.
We're doing all that and some.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Love it.
And in the live chat here, kelsey says on YouTube the
Phineas and Ferb dance partywhere, which we did together,
ran from 2011 to 2014.
So, my friend, it has beennearly 13 years.
That's not even real, that'scrazy.
Are we even 13 years old yet?
No, I feel like we're both kindof Peter Pan's in our own right

(10:23):
, where we're just like we'regoing to be these fun kids who
love to just do crazy stuffforever.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I agree, I agree, I feel the exact same.
I'm like in my head, I'm likemaybe, maybe 18, maybe Right,
that's a region.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Everyone around us just keeps getting older, but
we're, we're just living our 18year old lives Can't relate All
right.
So how old were you when youmade your first viral video?
Let's talk about that.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah, I feel like that would have been.
I think I was 18.
Actually, I need to look up theexact date.
Perfect yeah, perfect segue.
But it was.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
You made this viral video and you froze in time.
You never aged again.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
No, I said this is I.
Now I, my age is not a thing.
I've married the universe, canwe?

Speaker 1 (11:19):
unpack that.
What is marrying the universemean?

Speaker 2 (11:23):
You know, don't worry about it, right.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I'm jumping over to your channel now to see what
this is up to, because Iremember when it took off and
watching the numbers soar andbeing like bro.
This video your first videohere that I want you to talk
about for a second is now lookslike up to 16 million views on
YouTube.
That's so funny to me broMillion.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
That's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Tell us how this came about and what.
Why did this happen and whatwas the experience like, making
it yeah for sure.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
So I, before before that video, I was kind of doing
off of the recommendation, actually, of our little fan
group at the Disney parks.
They were like you need to doYouTube videos, we want to see
some stuff.
And I was like I will do themif you watch them, cool.
And so I kind of started doingwhat I call now like living room

(12:22):
covers, where I just put a micand I would just do little
performances, and it wassomething that I enjoyed doing.
And then a friend of mine whoworked at the parks with me was
like hey, these are good.
Have you ever thought aboutdoing like proper music videos?
And I was like no, but thatsounds great.
And he's like I went to filmschool, let's do it.

(12:44):
And I said, perfect, let's go.
And so this video was that art,was that Art Vega?
Yes, it was Art Vega, who Ilove for all reasons that he
literally just like started orhelped me start this path.
You know, amazing guy too.
So this video was like just ourfirst like attempt, like, oh,

(13:06):
let's just do something likefunny and fun and we'll just
like it'll be a test run andwe'll see what happens.
And so we do this video and aswe kind of start planning it, it
slowly evolved into a littlebit more than we had planned,
but like it was still going tobe a practice, kind of like you
know, funny video.

(13:26):
And so I rented a mermaid tail,as you did, as you know, as one
does so and I found a red wigand I said, oh no, we're doing
this.
If we're going to do this, ifI'm showing up and seeing on a
beach my guy, we're going toshow up and we're going to sing
on the beach, okay, and so wemade this video and in my mind

(13:50):
it was going to be this soundslike cliche, because this is
just you know how it happens.
I was like this is going to besomething really funny for my
friends and like my family and, like you know, once we get this
under our belt, we can do somelike good stuff, you know.
And so we put it out.
It was great, it was funny and Ithink it was like out for like

(14:12):
about a week ish, a give or takea day and I woke up one morning
and it was like a bunch ofnotifications and like emails
and tweets and I was like whathappened?
What's going on?
I thought it was like some kindof like national crisis or
something.
I was like, oh, what is this?
And then I was likesimultaneously like oh, it's.

(14:37):
Oh, this is kind of cool.
And then I was like, no, whythis video, please?
Of all the things, why this one?
But it really kind of jumpstarted the rest of my like
social media career, which iskind of insane because it took

(15:00):
when that started happening.
I was like, oh, because then Igot an interview with the
Huffington Post Broadwayworldcomwas covering it and I was like,
oh, this is like kind ofserious and I should probably
take this a little moreseriously moving forward than I
have, especially consideringthis wasn't what we were trying

(15:22):
to do and it just kind of like.
I was like I need to thinkabout everything from this step
forward, you know.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
So funny because I imagine like seeing all those
notifications and realizingwhat's happened happening.
And then you see the scene fromthat thing you do in my head,
when they're hearing their songon the radio for the first time
and they're running down thestreet and turning on their car
radios and banging on windowsand this is our song.
But then you have that momentof but why this song?

Speaker 2 (15:49):
No, please.
I'm in a mermaid tail.
I'm not wearing any clothes.
What's happening?

Speaker 1 (15:53):
All right, well, we're going to show the video,
but before we do, I want toencourage anybody who's
listening on your favoritepodcast platform to find these
videos on his YouTube channel, chris Villan, and check them out
, or check out the if you wantto watch the whole recording of
this podcast.
See his face while he's talkingto my face.
That's at cove tubecom.

(16:15):
But, gosh, I encourage you togo to his YouTube channel and
I'll say this again before we gohome because it is just chock
full.
We're going to share a handfulof stuff here today, but just
everything.
There is something that youreye holes and ear holes will
enjoy.
We teased that it was an aerialthing, but what's the song?

Speaker 2 (16:37):
It is part of your world, transposed into a key for
the male voices.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Though your voice knows no limits, I'm sure you
guys in the original key, but soexcited to share this with
everyone.
Here's Chris Villan and hisfirst viral video.
Part of your world.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Maybe he's right, maybe there is something about
it with me.
I just don't see how a worldthat makes such wonderful things
could be bad.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Look at this stuff, isn't it neat, wouldn't you
think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the guy,the guy who has everything?
Look at this trove Treasure'suntold.
How many wonders can one cavernhold?
Looking around here, you think, sure, he's got everything.

(17:35):
I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty.
I've got who's it's and what'sit's galore.
Oh, you want thingamabobs, I'vegot 20.
But who cares Big deal.
I want more.

(17:59):
Maybe where the people are Iwant to see, want to see them
dancing, looking around on those, hey, what do you call them?
Oh, feet, for open your fins, you don't get too far.
Legs are required for jumpin',dancin', strollin' along down

(18:23):
the what's that word again?
Street Up, where they walk up,where they run up, where they
stay all day in the sun, wandering free.
Wish I could be part of thatworld.
What would I give if I couldlive out of these waters?

(18:48):
What would I pay to spend a daywarm on the sand, betcha, on
land?
They understand that they don'treprimand their own sons.
Greatest, strong men, sick ofswimmin', ready to stand.

(19:13):
And you're ready to know whatthe people know?
Ask them my questions and getsome answers.
What's a fire and why does it?
What's the word Burn.
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love worth toexplore the world above what of

(19:39):
the sea?
Wish I could be part of thatworld.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Instant magic, and I've seen that video a bunch of
times, but this was the firsttime I noticed probably because
your eyes were so dreamy asurfer in the back of one of the
shots Whoa, what kind of lookswere you getting from people on
the beach when you were filmingthat.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
So we shot that in Dana Point and the beach was
actually shockingly vacant,which was great.
I think that's why we shotthere, yeah the rest of the
shots were.
it was like cordoned off for youshut down, yeah, and then there
was like one I met one girl, asmall girl, there and I think
she actually thought I was likea merman and it was very sweet.

(20:47):
And then, like I think a weekafter so maybe two weeks out
from it being posted she calledme and she's like wait, I met
you when you were there.
I saw this and I was likethat's you.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
That's amazing.
Yeah, it was sweet the day thatEverly auditioned for yes Day.
We were really early for heraudition, so I stopped at this,
one of my favorite cemeteries inWestwood and, like Dean
Martin's there, natalie Wood, marilyn Monroe, jack Lemon,
walter Matha, like all thesecelebrities.

(21:22):
So we were walking around andthere were some tourists there
with their video camera, noteven like a phone but like a
video camera and we were atNatalie Wood's headstone and it
was like an old couple from likeback somewhere in the south and
they said you like Natalie Wood, you look like Natalie Wood
when she was in the Santa movieto Everly.

(21:44):
And Everly said, yes, I'm anactress, I have an audition
today.
And they were like oh my gosh, can we get video of you?
And she was like, of course.
And so they start rollingcamera on Everly and they're
like hi, who are you?
And she's like I'm EverlyCarganilla.
I'm an actress, I have anaudition today for a movie
called yes Day.
And I imagine, like this couplesomewhere in the world maybe

(22:10):
has no idea they have that video, or Listen, Everly's a star.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Everly's a star.
Now I don't care.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
But it just reminds me of like some day, maybe
they'll comment on one of ourvideos.
We met you that day that youauditioned for your first movie.
It'll absolutely happen.
Tell me about your descendantsvideo.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Oh man, so this one has a little bit of a different,
I guess, story to it.
Where, so fast forward, we didthat and then, you know, the
YouTube channel is thriving alittle bit, we're getting some
recognition and I think when wecome to the descendants video,
this is an X milestone for me,because it was the first time I

(22:56):
kind of like Took everythinginto my own hands, whereas
before it was like I need, Idon't know how to do this and
like I don't know how, cansomebody help me do this, and I
had been doing it just longenough to where I was like, okay
, I think I understand thedifferent aspects of how to do

(23:21):
this, and also the timing onthis video was I knew that this
Descendants 3 was like about tocome out or they had just
finished filming, so I was likeI need to do this fast, right
now, for like relevant purposes, you know.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
So you had no idea that Hades?
Or did you know that Hades wasin Descendants 3?

Speaker 2 (23:46):
So it had been kind of like hinted at, but I didn't
know, nobody knew.
And the I had a YouTuberepresentative at the time who
was sending I think she had sentone of my peers, I think she
had done a red carpet orsomething for Descendants, and

(24:07):
then also like made a cameo inone and I was like, oh perfect,
beep, boop, beep.
Hello, youtube represent, lady, can you please do this for me,
because this is right up myalley?
And she's like oh, my gosh, ofcourse, why didn't I think of
this?
Yeah, we'll make it happen.
And I was like boom, great.
And then I never heard backfrom her.

(24:27):
And so I was like what happened?
I thought this was going to becool.
And then I'm.
And so, in a kind of rebelliousact of defiance, I was like now
I'm going to have to show youwhy this would have been perfect
because you passed up on this.
And so I called my musicproducer, I choreographed

(24:52):
something in my living room andthen we made this video, I kid
you not in like Days.
It was very the turnaround wasvery fast, it was wicked fast,
and it was part of the reasonwhy I'm so proud of it, because,
on top of the fact of it beingthe first time where I was
choreographing it, I wascostuming it, I did the set

(25:15):
direction, I was like I wrotethe song.
It was the first time that, Ithink.
Looking back now, I was like,ah, look, chris Villan is
starting to show his face.
He's not there yet, but this islike he's making his first
little baby step in somethingthat I'm still trying to wrangle
and embody now.
But I feel so much morecomfortable now than I did back

(25:38):
then and it was like I didn'teven realize it at the time, but
I was like, oh, we'restretching our wings a little
bit, you know, and that's why Ithink it was a milestone.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Well, some of the best work is created when the
creator has a chip on theirshoulders, and I love that.
That's kind of what drove youto make this.
Tell me about the song Make itHot.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Yeah.
So again, it had kind of beenhinted at in like little
previews.
I was a fan of the DescendantSeries when it was coming out
and it had been hinted at thatHades.
There was a lot of like littleblue flames and I was like okay,
so it's gotta be somethingHades.
I didn't know in what aspectbut I was like okay in, if I

(26:21):
were to do this, if I waswriting the Descendant Series,
what would I do?
And I decided to make likeHades' Son who, if you look in
the description of the video, there's like a very long
paragraph of this whole synopsisthat I wrote out for it that
kind of explains the storylineof where he fits in and we talk

(26:41):
about on Cove Podcast.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
So much the importance of fan fiction,
because it takes being inspiredby something that you're a fan
of, that something that you loveand you're passionate about,
and then you, it lights your owncreative fire and causes you to
make something out straightfrom your heart's fire, in your
heart, and it sounds like that'sexactly what this is.

(27:02):
Can't wait to share it witheveryone.
Here is Chris Villan and hisown Descendants world, his own
Descendants universe with Makeit Hot.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
Let's go.
Don't pretend that everything'sfine.

(27:46):
Don't you wait ready for thepower of mine?
Can you see the smoke that'srising?
Can you feel this kind of heat?
Ain't no way that you'resurviving, cause you know I
can't be beat.

(28:06):
Let's make it hot.
Let's make it hot.
Let's make it hot.
I've been taking names here.

(28:31):
We've been taking names here.
I've been taking names there.
We've been taking names there.
Big plans in the making, bigplans in the making, and I ain't
playing fair.
What's wrong?
Can't you feel the flames?
When I'm done, they'll nevermind name Friends of the

(28:52):
underworld feeling my pain, making the fates ground,
changing the game.
Now the temperature is rising.
Can you feel this kind of heat?
Ain't no way that you'resurviving, cause you know I

(29:13):
can't be beat.
Bring the fire, let's make ithot.
Let's make it hot.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Let's make it hot, let's make it hot, let's make it

(29:53):
hot, let's make it hot.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Let's make it hot.
Let's make it hot.
Let's make it hot when.
I reference nerd culture now Ifeel like nerd culture has

(30:35):
become so mainstream that it'smainstream media now Pop culture
.
It's just culture now.
But at the time when I wasdoing this, cosplay wasn't even
nobody knew what that was.
I was like, oh, you're thecosplaying YouTube guy and I'm
like, what is that?
I don't know what that is andthey're like, you know, you'd

(30:56):
like just some characters and Iwas like, oh okay, I didn't know
that had a name and I feel likethat's just become so.
Anything that used to be likenerd culture, that you were,
that was considered nerdy or youwere a nerd for liking it, it's
just kind of pop culture now.
It's just kind of great.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Well, and I love that .
You just you took it and youran with it ever since.
You know that first aerialvideo.
You started that YouTubechannel.
You had your online presence.
You were so connected with yourfans.
You did the mailboxes and thatis so important to make you know
people in your community oryour tribe feel seen, and I've
always been impressed with howgreat you've been at doing that

(31:40):
and bringing everybody in yourtribe along with you on your
journey.
It's so, so amazing.
I want to jump ahead to COVID,that time in life where everyone
got shut up and put inside andnobody could do anything and we
started to do here on theVodacity Network, live shows
live streamed through Zoom ontoYouTube and we eventually

(32:02):
started doing musicals.
And that's when I reached outto you again.
I said, bro, we're doingmusicals over here in the
pandemic on the YouTubes.
You want to come play around, play with us?
And you said, of course, yes, Ido.
I think maybe the first one yougot involved with it was Into
the Woods, absolutely.

(32:23):
I asked you if you would do aduet with my daughter, everly,
who was just six at the time.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
I watched this video last night Sweet little baby.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
So this was after she had filmed yesterday, but she
still seems like such a tiny, tiny person to me when I watch
this now.
She's nine, almost 10.
But you hadn't I think youhadn't heard the song yet, when
I was like, hey, would you dothis with her?
So you learned it.
Not only did you learn it, butyou decided, in the height of
COVID, you'd cosplay this aswell.

(32:55):
Tell me about that.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I remember you reaching out and I was like I
think I had met Everly justbriefly in person once or twice
and I was like I am obsessedwith this kid, I love her so
much.
And so when you said that, Iwas like this is so sweet, not
only because I'm obsessed withEverly, but also I was like that
you would think of me.
To like do a duet with yourdaughter in general is like just

(33:17):
the sweetest thing, and I waslike I'm not going to say no to
this for obvious reasons.
And so, yeah, you, you werelike this is the song.
And I was like, okay, I'venever heard it, let me, let me
learn it real quick.
But it had to be done this way.
There was no other way to do it, which made me very excited
because I was like, oh, I seewhy he asked me to do this.
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead andI'm going to go ahead and do

(33:39):
what needs to be done.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
And here is Chris and Everly with Hello, little Girl
from Into the Woods.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, magic.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
I love Everly so much .
Oh, she's so cute.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Over the magic of the internet, your past or a flower
in the thick of COVID.
That was in June of 2020.
That that was made.
It's so much fun.
And then you stuck around andwe did a couple more musicals
and when we did Wicked, I said, chris, we're doing Wicked.
And you were like, yes, youreminded me.

(36:46):
For when we actually did thelive stream on Vodacity, you did
popular.
Yeah, you made a video whereyou played both characters.
Of course, alphabet doesn'tsing in that one, but you had
the reactions in the acting.
But that, I think, inspired youto take on another project and
we're going to get to share that.

(37:06):
What Tell us about your?
The Chris Villain DefyingGravity magic video here I can't
wait to share.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
So another milestone.
You asked me to do that and Iwas like it would be super cool
to sing popular.
I just don't know if that's inmy wheelhouse of like range and
like what I can do.
But I was like we're not doinganything else, like let me, just
let me see if I can do it, youknow.
So it was a very happy surprise.
I was like, oh, this is in mywheelhouse and I wouldn't have

(37:40):
known unless you asked me.
And then I was.
This video that we're going towatch is a big milestone for me
because I mean, I've always beenable to sing and I've, you know
, like I can hold the tune,great.
But this was the first time Ithink I really like OK, but how

(38:00):
much like.
If I really tried, like if Iwas not just like OK, it's a
tool in my belt, like what, if Ilike try to be like a singer,
you know, like what does whatdoes that look like?
And this was the first timewhere I was like let's put some
gas.
Let's put some gas in the fireand see how, how far I can go.

(38:23):
And I recorded Define Gravity, which one other YouTuber had
done, but it wasn't all in theoriginal key.
So I was like, well then, Ineed to do it all in the
original key.
And so I it was.
It was difficult, for obviousreasons, but I was like whoa,
this is crazy.
I didn't know that I had thisskill.

(38:47):
And so it was because I hadthat realization, I was like I
need to put this in the properlight, and the proper light just
happened to be spending a vastamount of money just restaging
our own broad version of it.
But I don't think I've everreally actually come full circle
and come back to thank you forthat, because it really I would
not have done it if it was notyou asking me to do that initial

(39:08):
popular video.
And like, ever since then I've,I felt I've to this day, feel
like I'm a singer now, and itwouldn't.
I wouldn't have been because ofthat.
I first of all, I alwaysthought you were a singer, I
know it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
We all have our demons in our heads and, like I
always say, I'm not a singer, Ican't, I can't do this and I
can't do that, but I've alwaysconsidered you to be a singer.
And, second of all, that's verynice of you to thank me.
But I think a such a huge partof person's development and
growth is that their willingnessto say yes and take on new
things.

(39:43):
Of course, we talk about it atlength on this podcast, but
pushing yourself, spreading yourwings, trying new things but it
all starts with saying yes, whether you're saying yes to
yourself and something you'vealways wanted to do and finally
taking that first step, or whensomeone reach out, reaches out
and says, hey, you want to try, would you get involved with in

(40:04):
this project with us?
And just saying, yeah, let's doit, and diving in 100%, as you
are apt to do.
So I want to thank you forbeing that person that does.
And when I text you out ofnowhere, out of the blue, hey,
want to be on my podcast, wantto record tomorrow and you say
yes, that spirit that you haveis it's immeasurable and it is

(40:28):
so valuable and I thank you, sir.
I love you man, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
You're welcome.
Thank you, man, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
You mentioned staging this.
How long was this production?
Because, as people are about tosee, it's incredible.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Thank you.
We again, with these thingsit's like I get an idea and then
my problem and it's such ablessing but such a curse is
that for certain projects andthis one was one of them we're
like I can play a video in myhead from beginning to end and
like watch it, and once I'veseen it, it's done, like I have

(41:09):
to do it.
And so I'm like, oh no, I'vealready seen the full Broadway
production of this and so likenow we have to do it.
And then after that initiallike pill has been swallowed, it
just like vomits out.
And so we shot it in two daysone day, actually, that's a lie.
We shot it in one day, but wetook the first day to go to the

(41:32):
theater rig, the lighting test, the fly rig, and so that was a
prep day really, but we shot itin one day, which is wild
because and a lot of peoplestill don't know this, going
through the comments that I doplay both of those parts and so
we had to shoot the video twice, essentially, and also twice in
a very complicated way becauseit's like my face can't be shown

(41:53):
in certain ways.
But it was a marathon and again, another milestone in the sense
where I was like this is insane.
Nobody I don't know a lot ofpeople that do this and also,
like I'm doing it, it'shappening.
I'm capable of this, which isvery good to know, but

(42:14):
terrifying to know because nowthe next one has to be bigger,
you know.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Isn't that crazy when you have this crazy idea and
you're like for me, it was, I'mgonna write and produce and make
a feature film and that seemslike no, I'm not, I could never
do that.
And in the middle of doing ityou're like I'm doing it, like
we're actually doing this, andthe team you mentioned.
You play both roles.
You do like a full on parenttrap Lindsey Lohan kind of a

(42:41):
thing here, but I mean yourGlinda and your Alphaba and just
the camera angles and the moviemagic it's.
The amount of work and howexquisitely it is carried out is
a huge credit to your directionand your crew's ability to make
some really convincing film, stage film, but it's an

(43:06):
incredible video.
It looks like you dropped it acouple of years ago.
You got 89,000 views on italready, but it deserves
millions more, as people areabout to see.
Here is Chris Villan and hisproduction, his performance, the
stage performance, broadway'squality of defying gravity,

(43:28):
alphabane why?

Speaker 2 (43:29):
couldn't you have stayed calm for once instead of
flying off the handle?
I hope you're happy.
I hope you're happy now.

Speaker 5 (43:38):
I hope you're happy how you've hurt your cause
forever.
I hope you think you're clever.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
I hope you're happy.
I hope you're happy too.

Speaker 5 (43:45):
I hope you're proud how you would could follow in
submission to feed your ownambition.
So though I can't imagine now,I hope you're happy right now.
Kofi, listen to me.

(44:07):
Just say you're sorry.
You could still be with thewizard.
What you've worked and waitedfor.
You could have all you everwanted, I know, but I don't want

(44:30):
it.

Speaker 4 (44:32):
No.

Speaker 5 (44:34):
I can't want it anymore.
Anymore, something has changedwithin me.
Something is not the same.

(44:54):
I'm through with plaguing bythe rules of someone else's game
.
Too late for a second guessing, too late to go back to sleep.
It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes and if it's time

(45:21):
to try to find gravity, I thinkI'll try to find gravity and
you can pull me down.
Can't I make you understand?
You're having delusions ofgrandeur.
I'm through accepting limitscause someone says they're sore.

(45:46):
Some things I cannot change, but till I try, I'll never know.
Too long I've been afraid oflosing love.
I guess I've lost.
Well, if that's love, it comesat much too high a cost.
I'd still never find gravity.

(46:10):
Kiss me goodbye.
Find gravity and you can pullme down.
Gwyn come with me.
Think of what we could doTogether, unlimited.

(46:30):
Together, we're a method.
Together, we'll be the greatestteam there's ever been.
Gwyn, oh, dreams the way weplanned them.
If we work in tandem, there'sno fight.

(46:53):
We cannot win.
Just you and I defying gravity.
With you and I defying gravity, you'll never bring us down.
Alphie, I will.

(47:14):
You're coming.
I hope you're happy Now thatyou're choosing this, you too.
I hope it brings you bliss.
I really hope you get it andyou don't let you regret it.

(47:38):
I hope you're happy at the end.
I hope you're happy, my friend.
Hey, wait, no, it's me.
You want, it's me.

(48:01):
So if you care to fight me,look to the western sky.
As someone told you lately.
Everyone deserves a chance tofly, and if I'm flying solo, at
least I'm flying free.
To those who cloud me, take amessage back from me.

(48:26):
Tell them how I am defyinggravity.
I'm flying high, defyinggravity, and soon I'll match
them in renown.
And nobody in all of us, nowizard that there is or was is,

(48:51):
ever gonna win.
They die.
You want my hand?
You can't get it?
Run my friend, so we don't haveto bring it.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Run.
My friend Goosebumps chills.
I'm like blown, just blown away.
And people in the live YouTubechatter just like dude, I'm
listening at work and gettinggoosebumps right now.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Oh, they're so nice.
Thank you, chills.

Speaker 1 (49:33):
Oh my gosh dude.
Incredible, incredible, notjust vocal performance, and I
encourage again anybodylistening to the audio podcast.
Find this defying gravity mailcover by Chris Villan on YouTube
.
Watch the video Holy buckets.
It'll bring goosebumps to yourarms, chills to your soul.
Amazing.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Thank you, dude.
Comment back to it Literally Iwould not have done it if you
didn't ask me that first time.
Well, you said yes, you saidyes.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
So what is the as of today?
What is the culmination of allof this work, this creative
journey?
What are you working on rightnow?

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Yeah, so we've now and you know, I think this whole
time it's definitely beensomething that I've been wanting
to do.
It's just, I think I've realizedthis, or up until now, that,
like, if I wanted to do this theway that I want to do it, I
need more time, and we've gottenhere, finally, and I'm now on

(50:37):
this like solo pop music venture, which is so, has been so cool
and is really my next kind oflike hurdle and obstacle that
I'm navigating through, becauseit's very easy to replicate
people's work at least formyself and in my experience and

(50:59):
it's something that I'vepolished and I'm like, okay, I
can do this, and creatingsomething of your own that's
brand new, that doesn't exist,is its own new kind of adventure
, you know.
And so, yeah, I just released asong called Freak Show and it

(51:20):
was a song, and this has beensuch a nice little walk down
memory lane for me, honestly, because this is now like this
video that I'm so proud of isthe culmination of, I guess,
chris Villan has now polishedhis skills and we're presenting
it, and it's not perfect.
It's not exactly where I wantto be and where I want to go,

(51:44):
but I'm very, very proud ofwhere I've come and how far I've
come, and so we're kind of justseeing what happens from here,
you know.
Yeah, I was gonna ask, is it?

Speaker 1 (51:56):
part of a bigger project.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
Yeah, this video was actually.
I'm working on a visual EP, someaning there's a few songs and
they all will correlate togetherin a singular storyline and it
will end up being a very coolhybrid of short film but music

(52:20):
video, and this video wassupposed to initially be a part
of that, but it grew too big toofast and I was like no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, this isgonna steal the spotlight from
everything else.
So let's just make this acoming out solo song, because I
had also before this neverreally we I dabbled obviously

(52:42):
with the Descendants video, butI had never really released like
original music under like ChrisVillan as an artist, because
that was kind of still leaningon like the Descendants IP, and
so this was also like a verynice hey guys, I'm doing solo
music now.

Speaker 1 (53:03):
Creating your own thing.
Yeah, I mean, as you said, likethis is an original Chris
Villan original.
I feel like along the way, youhave, just as you said, polished
your skills, your vision andused covers as a tool to grow as
an artist, and I'm so excitedto see, just like the butterfly

(53:26):
that comes out of this cocoonand this is the first step and
it is so beautifully executed.
I get when I watch it, I get alot of, you know, britney Spears
, circus vibes, some greatestshowman vibes, but it is also
just 100% Chris Villan as welland I just I love it.
And here is an original ChrisVillan freak show ı I iz we

(54:11):
don't wanna.

Speaker 3 (54:18):
Tonight, your life is about to change.
Once you've crossed this line, you'll be something incredible,
fantastic and amazing.
