where I just read a bunch ofprofessional stuff from your
work, but I want to hear moreabout you.
Anything else you can tell usabout yourself that I didn't
already mention?
So are you up for the challenge?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Um sure.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
All right, and three,
two, one go.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
So, to start off, I'm
a great guitar player.
Well, I'm not great.
I love playing guitar.
I just started Saxophone and Iam a professional video gamer.
Yesterday there was atournament and I won like $5 in
virtual currency by playing.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Wow, yeah, that's
awesome.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So when I did that,
then what else?
I love swimming, I love fishing.
When I went to Louisiana to dothat sandwich chair thing, I
caught like five fish.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
I love swimming as
well.
I can swim pretty fast and yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Awesome, that was.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
That's what I do in
my free time.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Great, what kind of
fish were you?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
catching out there.
So where they had us it was ona farm with, and when we had a
little cottage, you walk out ofthe cottage, you have a giant
lake in front of you.
So we didn't really know whatfish were in that lake.
So I just casted my rod outthere with all bait one of the
big ones and I caught bass.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
So yeah, I caught
from one pounders to three
pounders.
It was just fish, fish, fishfish.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
That sounds awesome.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I used to go fishing
a lot as a kid, but gosh, I
don't get out there as muchanymore.
I need to take the kids.
The kids have never been.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
His dad keeps saying
that we're going to go canoeing
once.
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
My dad liked to get
out there and had us out there
backpacking and fishing as kidsand, gosh, as adults.
We just need to get back outthere, get back out to our roots
.
But cool man, tell me about, before we get to the Spy Kids
stuff, this big foot moviethat's coming out.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
So I haven't read the
script yet.
I was planning on doing that ina few days because I'm going in
April, but I think it's aboutme befriending a big foot in
general, but I don't really knowyet.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Okay, do you know
what it's called?
Speaker 2 (04:56):
It's called.
Who Was he?
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Okay, we will keep an
eye and ear out for that.
That sounds exciting.
I am a big mystery fan and Ilove the mysteries of
Sasquatches and all the aliensand time travel and I'm in all
that stuff All right.
So was Spy Kids like your firstbig project?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Yeah, I did a few
commercials and maybe background
roles and TV shows.
But the second I heard the newswhen I booked Spy Kids and like
oh my God, oh my God.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Had you seen the
other Spy Kids movies before you
auditioned?
Speaker 2 (05:38):
So after I did the
call back, the second, I got off
.
I binge watched all four.
So yeah, I watched it, and thatwas before I even booked it.
The day I booked it.
I watched them four more timesand again on the plane, but yeah
.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
What did you do when
you found out?
You booked it.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
So I just got out of
school.
So I got out, I look at myphone, I get a call and I open
the call.
It just said my dad.
But there's eight other peoplein the call and I see my
managers, my agents and they'reall on that call and my dad goes
three, two, one and they saycongratulations and I'm like
(06:18):
what happened?
And they're like you booked SpyKids.
I fell over and they startedcrying happy tears.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
That is awesome.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
And then my mom, and
that's the perfect timing.
My mom pulls up and she's likeConor, are you okay?
I love Mike, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Did she know?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
She did, but she
thought that we were going to
celebrate it at home and I, shethought I didn't know yet.
So she just sees me fallingover on the sidewalk crying my
eyes out and I'm like no, I just, un-dad, I booked it, did you
not know?
And she's like oh, I did, andI'm like you did.
(07:04):
So then why are you confused?
I thought you planned this.
I thought I saw your name onthe call too.
She's like no wait, there was acall.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Dad jumped the gun.
Yeah, he swooped theannouncement.
And really, how did you findout?
Speaker 1 (07:18):
So I came back from.
So every day after school I goto my grandma's house and that
day I got checked out of schoolto sing the Star Spangled Banner
at your work.
And so I, my dad and my momwere like, everly, we have a
(07:43):
video to show you.
And I showed.
And I was like to my dad andmom, I was like, is it of me
singing the Star Spangled Banner?
And my dad was like no.
And so, like they were gettingready and my brother was sitting
on the couch, he was justlearning to read.
(08:04):
So he was sitting on the couch,we all gathered on the couch
and then my dad had put togetherthis whole like video.
It said like it had all likethe other clips from the other
Spy Kids movies in it.
And it said like Everly, graceCarganilla.
(08:25):
And then there was morecommotion going on in the video.
And then he said you, and thenit came all on.
And then my brother was justlike you booked.
And then I read it and it saidSpy Kids 5.
And I started screaming andjumping on the.
(08:45):
I was right over there on thecouch.
I started screaming, I wascrying happy tears, like you.
I was like, oh my gosh, I waslike so amazed I was, I couldn't
, I just couldn't Believe it.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Your parents are in
grave danger.
Speaker 1 (09:11):

Speaker 1 (11:00):
No, no, we were in
Austin, Texas.
Yeah, so very far.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
How long did it take?
Speaker 1 (11:06):
About 3 months.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Call me crazy, but I
have the exact date.
I'm pretty sure she flew in aday before me, may 30th.
I flew in May 31st.
I landed at 3.54pm.
Wow, you have a good memory.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
We started shooting
June 1st at approximately.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
My call time was
9.30pm.
Hers was as well, if I remembercorrectly.
We got there at about 9.30pm.
We got there at about 9.30pmBecause we couldn't find the
driver.
Oh yes, and we got there.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
We didn't do anything
.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
We did a little bit
of fitting school and a bunch of
tour and the day we ended itwas in the safe house during the
training regiment after we gotour spy suits and she wrapped at
.
Approximately that was the lastday.
Oh yeah, the training we gotthere at about 9.30pm, the last
(11:58):
day.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Oh yeah, the training
.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Yeah she.
Her rap was 8.55.
Mine was 9.05.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
What was the date of
the rap?
Speaker 2 (12:10):
August 27th.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
End of August.
So you started at the end ofMay and you wrapped at the end
of August.
June, july, august yeah, sothat's three months.
What was your favorite part ofthe shoot?
I mean, you guys got to do awhole bunch of different things.
If anybody out there islistening hasn't seen the movie,
it's on Netflix.
You got to check out these two, everly and Connor, in Spy Kids
(12:34):
Armageddon.
They got to ride in boats, flyin jets and do all walk on the
ceiling, all kinds of stuff.
But it doesn't have to be onething.
But what were your favoriteparts?
I guess?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
of the production, my
favorite when Billy.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
He's the bad guy,
well, the villain, he's not
really a villain, I mean he'snot even bad.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
He's the hero of his
own story.
He has like.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Somehow he always
ends up being a villain and
everything is active.
Some how.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
What's the?
Speaker 1 (13:09):
So, billy Magnussen,
billy Magnussen, that's right.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
He plays the king in
the Spy Kids Armageddon, and so
what was your favorite partabout that?
Speaker 2 (13:19):
So in our final scene
that I get the one hit halfway
through shooting, they gave us aseesaw that was spinning and
going up and down like this andwe had to do the major fight
scene on that.
So there were fans blowingeverywhere, we were spinning,
Wow, and we were going up anddown and we had to do the spear
(13:40):
fight.
That's the final With like 10pounds, If you haven't seen it,
this final fight scene.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
They're like on a
platform on a river of lava and
they're dueling it out.
Did you do a lot of your ownstunts?
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Not any of the falls.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
You were on wires
right, you did a backflip.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
You were on wires too
.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
What kind of stuff
did you do on wires?
Speaker 1 (14:04):
So, basically, I just
I don't want to be a spoiler
for those who haven't seen ityet, but we go into a video game
and I'm a superhero who haslike wings.
So basically I'm flying aroundblasting magic at one of the
king's goons the heck night.
So I really liked doing thatpart.
(14:26):
That was probably my favoritepart.
Um, yeah, I really liked that.
There was another scene that Igot to go on wires, but that one
got caught.
It was when I like jumped offthe edge and I was like worth it
.
That part got cut Because Ithink they liked the peaceful
(14:47):
version better.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Were you just walk
off?
Yeah, Did you do the fall, orwas it no?
Speaker 1 (14:56):
it was no, that was a
fully scrapped you guys had
kids done doubles.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Yeah, so funny story.
The JJ the head stuntcoordinator.
He was an awesome guy.
Did he do Boba FetterMandalorian?
Speaker 1 (15:13):
He did, I think
Mandalorian, no I know the
second.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
I have his name and I
have his name on my phone.
He did Mandalorian JJ did BobaFett book of Boba Fett, the
series.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then he also did.
We can be heroes.
He played Shark Boy.
Oh, that's right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
I remember that.
Yeah, so JJ, his son was myside double.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Oh nice.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
And then I think it
was his son was also mine, a
different.
Yeah this different, younger.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Yeah, so the stunt
coordinators kids were your
stunt.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Hmm, very cool.
Let's talk about the people yougot to meet.
Let's talk about first workingwith Robert Rodriguez.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
My gosh, he's the
nicest guy ever.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
We went to a house.
Oh, he is a pizza oven.
It's literally a castle.
He has a pizza oven, a gym.
He calls it a torture room.
He's like a, his four secretdoorways yes, the secret
doorways.
He's a pool.
It's humongous.
He even has a water slide.
(16:22):
It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
And when you go into,
the key is to waterfalls.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Oh, yeah, yeah sounds
like his house is an amusement
park.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Hey, yeah, but like
it's like literally a castle,
like he has like a wall of booksand then he like pulls one book
and then the wall Rotates andit turns into like a door to the
gym.
It's awesome, amazing.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
But what was it like
working with him?
How was he as a director?
He's a wonder, he's just nice.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yeah, it was not even
a competition.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
No.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Yeah, it was by far
the most surreal person on set.
Yeah, sorry everyone, but he,he takes the cake.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Well, I mean, we're
not comparing how cool people
are, but one really cool thingthat I loved about the way he
Made the movie was the peoplearound him.
He wanted to make the moviewith his kids.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yeah, rhiannon is his
daughter.
She is an amazing artist.
She designed like all therobots.
She designed our suits.
I think she designed everything.
Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
His daughter,
rhiannon, did a bunch of the art
.
His son, racer, was like aRogue, did the music right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but he reallywanted to make the creation of
the movie like a family affairand he was very he, very much.
I was impressed with how muchhe included us on everything and
(17:58):
he just made it seem, like youknow, a really great experience
for you guys and he made it seemlike everyone is needed at all
times.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Absolutely even
though sometimes we weren't more
awesome people that we got towork with where Gina, roger, you
guys and Zachary Levi.
They were amazing.
Gina is just like a ray ofsunshine.
She brings.
She brings like happiness toeverybody.
She like she's funny, she's.
I Honestly I looked up to herwhen I was filming because she's
(18:31):
like a professional.
She's done way more things thanI have and she knows she knows
how to get in character, didn'tyou?
Speaker 2 (18:39):
play young Gina or
something I did.
Yeah, like way back when.
Yeah, way, way, way back.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I read.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
I still have um the
third to last day.
Zach was there.
I wasn't shooting but I ran toset.
I had fittings that day and Igot his book, if I only came in
the mail.
Oh yeah and I ran to him and Iwas lucky that he wasn't
shooting, or else I would havegone in trouble.
But I ran to him and he said, sign it, sign it.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah, so what was it
like working with Zachary Levi?
Speaker 2 (19:16):
He was also amazing
very inspirational Funny he
would play music in between set.
Oh my goodness, yeah, you justtake his boombox and go oh baby,
get big, it big yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
And we mentioned
Billy Magnuson a little bit
earlier, but he was Also reallycool.
I didn't get to, I wasn't onset much when he was there.
What was it like?
We're being on set with him.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Oh, my goodness, oh
wow, he was just.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Whoa wait, he was
amazing.
Yeah, he's like he plays theview, but he's.
He's, he plays the villain, buthe's so nice in real life.
He's like I don't know how toexplain it, he's just.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Incredible.
Also, just talking to him, it'sa real like he's so different
than everybody else and it'sjust awesome to work with him
and I just can't really describeit.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
He's just so cool, oh
yeah tell me about the
locations where you guys filmed, where we filmed at roberts
original like place where he hasEverything all designed out and
everything ready, trouble makerstudios and then atx wasn't
really called that atx yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I don't, I.
That's the only thing I can'tremember.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Yeah, it was like
austin.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Austin texas.
That's probably what it stoodfor.
Yeah, probably.
Yeah, it's awesome, texas, Ithink it was atx studios.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah.
Um you were that's where allthe high score stuff was kind of
split the time between thereand trouble maker studios, which
is roberts.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Yeah, trouble maker
was all like the house scenes,
like, for example, the firstscene that we shot.
I still remember the firstscene that we shot was us
sneaking down the hallway.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Oh my goodness my
hands were white.
They were so pale because thethe walls.
It was literally just made.
I saw the market.
That was probably the worstexperience of my life.
I saw our house get wrecked.
Seriously, yeah, it was.
It was a fresh house.
Some walls weren't even there, but the walls that were there I
(21:25):
had to like if you, if you watchthe movie.
I had to Hold on to the walland it was.
It was just newly painted andsanded, so my hands were
completely pale.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Yeah, it was
interesting.
So there was an actual housethat we spent some time in.
Oh yeah, but a lot of thescenes were actually built on a
soundstage to look like theywere in that house.
Like you mentioned, the hallwaysneaking down the hallway,
that's all in a stage and theydid a really good job of
mimicking the house.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
They only had the
house for two days, the actual
house and I remember one of thedays.
We were supposed to the openingscene of the movie.
After I opened the lock thing,my Zach comes in.
That scene was supposed to bean all day shoot because it was
so long, but we ended up somehowgetting it all in 30 minutes
(22:15):
because, that's all we could do,because it was a glass house
mainly.
It was a mainly glass and therewas lightning the day.
Right, oh, that's right, andthere was lightning and it was
like that you could see it hitthe pool, I know and it was like
, okay, no, we're shooting withthose giant generators that are
(22:38):
pulling all of our lives at risk.
So they stopped and that wasvery sad because I really wanted
to do that scene.
Yeah we ended up getting itdone, but I think they cut half
of it.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, that that house
was pretty amazing there and I
tell people the garage scenewhen the bad guys are coming in
the garage and you guys driveout, that's that's the actual
garage of that house and it hasa turntable a lazy susan, oh my
gosh.
In the garage that turns thecars around, oh my gosh.
So the person that owns thathouse actually has that in their
(23:11):
garage.
That that was in a set.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Okay, but okay, they
also had a giant slide.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Do they have this
slide?
Speaker 1 (23:18):
No.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
It wasn't connected
to the slide across.
Okay, they had the slide.
It was much bigger though.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Okay, when I'm grown
up.
Yeah, sorry, I'm moving totexas and buying that house.
I can't that's.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I would just build a
slide.
She look right over there.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
You can just like
yeah just build a slide in any
house.
Yeah, put a turntable in yourgarage wherever you want to live
.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Yeah, dad, can I
install a slide?
Yeah, and just like have itright, come right to the table.
Okay, girl, so it's a mucheasier way to get to the living
room, can I?
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Not right now.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (23:56):
revisit that.
Okay, tell me about makingmovies was a lot of times people
when I tell them my, mydaughters and actress she makes
movies.
The first question is does shelike it?
And I'm like.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Why would she be
doing it?
Speaker 3 (24:15):
like forcing you to
do it or something, but you have
to do this.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
What?
Speaker 3 (24:20):
is it like for?
Any of us in the world that'slistening, that ever wondered
what it's like being a moviestar?
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Why hate work, not us
not?
Speaker 1 (24:32):
work is honestly the
base of my heart, like I love it
.
So, like my heart is, like theearth, I have a core, a mantle
in a crust, what?
There's many more layers thanjust three the course acting,
and then the other layers, family and the other layers,
friends and the others, pianoand the others, pets, and so on.
(24:55):
So far, you see.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
What's your favorite
thing about making movies?
Speaker 1 (25:00):
You will.
I love to play pretend with mycrazy little brother.
We met him on the fifth podcast, I believe it was no he.
I love to play pretend with him.
And Well, I guess acting isbasically playing pretend like
you can be someone who youactually aren't and you can be
(25:23):
in their lives for a certainamount of time, which I really
like.
I like Just the idea you get tobe people.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yeah, that's not my
favorite, though.
My favorite part is just theexperience because, like, when I
look back at it, is it I fitlike genres of my life into
songs, so like I have likeChristmas twenty twenty two as
(25:51):
like I don't know, but like Ikeep it in genres like that?
I couldn't do that for summerof twenty twenty two when we
shot.
I can't do that for any set.
Really, just something you haveto look back at, just the
memories that you make there.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, it's like a
chapter of your life really.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
I have like forty
five core memories the most I've
ever had a place that's great Itried ramen for the first time
in Austin.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Oh nice, I tried.
No, I got this incrediblebulldog I showed you earlier,
terrence, in Austin.
He is the biggest memory fromAustin.
My call time was so late thatday it was eleven.
So my mom and I went out to themall and we did this and this
and that and that Mom and girlday for at least a few hours.
(26:42):
And then I went to the storeand I got really attached to
this bulldog in a toy store andmy mom was like, okay, well,
come back later, I'm gonna gocall you.
So we went shopping and then shesaid you want to say goodbye to
your dog friend?
And I was like, yeah, so I wentinto the store and I said bye
and I started crying because Ihad already gotten so attached
(27:04):
to him.
I started crying and my mom waslike, oh sweetie, well, how
much is he?
And I was like about sixteendollars and she was like, okay,
well, okay, well, let's Fine.
So she got him off the shelfand then we paid for him and now
(27:25):
he I sleep with him literallyevery night.
There's not a night that goesby.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
I mean he's not in my
arms and the crazy thing is,
the day after that I went to thesame store and you saw his
family.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I saw all of the
family.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
I told you this
earlier.
Yeah, but I got that Big bodybear with the tiny little head
now I know what you're talkingabout.
Yeah, it was at the same storeand it was the last one because
they sell out so quick.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
Oh yeah, it was also
like five dollars, like fifteen
dollars, yeah okay, so yourfavorite parts of making movies
are playing pretend, makinggreat memories and getting
stuffed animals.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
No, no, but I mean
like basically terror, yeah, but
like Terrence is like a memory.
He's like the most cherishedmemory that I have from.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Terrence is the best
we would have died without him,
I would have one time we ate histoe.
Oh, it was very.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
It was not very tasty
what is the what is the hardest
?
Part of making a movie.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Well, probably like
if you have a hardest part,
hardest part emotional sceneswhen you have to cry or
something.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
I was in the after
party.
I was in the after party, I hadto cry and then I'm doing a
movie soon.
The company is it's I.
There's a lot of emotionalscenes in that movie.
I don't know how I'm gonnasurvive, but I'm gonna try.
I have to.
Every time I do something bador like mess up, I grab like a
(29:07):
journal and I'm like rememberthis moment.
How are you feeling?
Speaker 3 (29:13):
It's interesting that
you say that, because I think
as an actor, it's very it'ssomething you have to learn,
that is, to be very aware ofyour feelings throughout regular
life, when you're not working, and realize, when you're having
emotions, that really kind of.
You need to bookmark it andkind of remember how that feels
(29:35):
and then you can use that later.
What about, like shootingconditions?
Speaker 2 (29:40):
what are the hardest?
Yeah, emotional, part same.
So after I left, whenever I hadnot dishing right, had to do a
sad scene I would want, rightwhen I got back I was, I missed
it's everyone so much that theywould show me pictures of like
Robert or someone random fromset and I would start crying and
then they would start the sceneand great way in acting.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
We call that trigger
trigger what I do for acting.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
I wasn't really
crying, I just wanted to be done
.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
I felt like I feel
like I'm about to start crying
right now.
So in our audition for spy kidsone of the scenes was the safe
house scene and in my audition Iwas crying because I didn't
know what would do.
I had to cry.
So my mom was like there's,there's, no way to get me crying
(30:35):
, like I can't start crying onqueue without like a trigger.
So my mom was like she triedout all sorts of different stuff
but the one they got me wasbefore the perfect one, she said
.
She said Everly, we've had fun, haven't we?
And then I was like stop.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
So that's the
emotional difficulty, but you
can just use a tear stick.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
That's almost the
same they did.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
They heard, though
what's a tear stick?
Speaker 2 (31:07):
yeah, so it's like a
stick of like.
It's like Clear lipstick that'smade out of mint, so you put it
below your eyes and it juststarts to burn and then you
start to cry oh, that's some.
I've never seen those beforethat's.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
That's very
interesting tricks of the trade
tricks honestly you guys hadsome really awesome scenes
outdoors for spy kids, but itwas Warm stop right there, stop
traumatizing the third day ofshooting day.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
we were shooting.
We were shooting the Safe housescene when we got caught.
I don't know if it was safe, how, when the rock was being
lowered, or if it was part ofthe go kart scene, but we went
inside the tent and they hadthose like two air conditioners
and we just stuck our face inthem.
Oh, my goodness, yeah, they hada little to.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
yeah, I would just
like take it out of the tent and
walk out with it.
Yeah, yeah, I could see again, but yeah it was it was steaming
hot, like we were in.
The suits were made out of areally, really, really thick
rubber, so we were in a hundredand six degree weather, drowsed
in warm plus 20 degrees more.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Yeah so that was
humid.
So, yeah, that was hard, thatwas really hard.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Yeah, I think the
humidity was a major part.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
I wasn't there for it
, but I heard it was also really
hot when you were filming thego kart scenes when you're
driving.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yeah, it was hot, but
we weren't hot but not as hot
just because we weren't in thesuits.
We were in casual.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah, we were, yeah,
we were still wearing jackets.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
We were wearing
jackets and we were wearing
jeans.
Yeah, and it was a hundred andthe go kart.
They didn't store it in shade, yeah, so it was like steaming
burning metal and you were inand we were in jeans.
Burning metal and jeans don'tgo together.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Did you get to meet
anyone on set that wasn't in the
movie?
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Oh yes, why am I just
remembering this?
So we were at the OSS.
We were at the OSS on Saturdays.
Yeah we shut down the SaturdayFarmers Market.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I felt so bad.
You could see the people.
You could see the people tryingto go there.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
So we were at the OSS
and then Robert was like we
have a visitor coming and wewere like who is it?
And then it was Alexa, theprevious spy kid.
She played Carmen and theoriginal other spy kid and I was
like, oh my gosh, she's allgrown up, she has, she's, she's
(33:54):
no longer a spy kid, she's justspy adult.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Spy grown ups.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Yeah, that was cool.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
did you guys get to
hang out with her?
Speaker 1 (34:05):
She just stopped by
she watched some of our scenes
and then she had to go becauseher kids were real little.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
She was like wait a
minute, robert, why didn't you
make mine this cool?
Then I hid behind the superducky.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
You didn't want to
get in trouble.
You're like you can't see me.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
You guys got to play
with a lot of cool gadgets.
What was your favorite gadget?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
Bronson.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
I had like the hand
thing.
Oh yeah, yeah, because I hadlike a really cool finisher,
like one of those video gamefinishers, like I took, I threw
one of the bad guys onto thething and then I took the other
and I threw one of the emotionballs of sleepiness.
(34:55):
Then I took the hand glove, Ithrew it on the face and I think
I like threw him onto it andthen I said ready for the thing
to activate and it said put themdown.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I remember you did
something like that in the movie
you put the claw on, I put theclaw on yeah, and then you
rammed into the other guy's face.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
Yeah, I rammed into
the guy's face and you flew down
.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Anyways, my favorite
was Bronson, a robotic crab.
He pulls his arm off to help me.
He's the best.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
So was he like a
remote control thing on set when
you were filming?
Speaker 1 (35:30):
No, no they were, it
was just like so there was one
like a disc, one like the actualcrab, and then one with no
other arm.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
So they just had like
three One with no arms one with
eight arms and one with sevenarms.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
So we had like the
different Bronsons.
I actually have a few pictureson my phone from the last day of
set.
They had like a case and itsaid it had his name engraved.
It said Bronson and I was likeI thought of that name.
I can't believe it but like, oh, did you really?
(36:07):
Yeah, I did.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Well, technically,
Robert, robert like a cool
Easter egg because I have anelectric guitar that me and
Robert went to go pick out andin the troublemaker I don't know
if his logo has always beenlike that, but in the
troublemaker studios logo forthe Spiky 5 movie if you look
(36:29):
really closely you'll see himplaying my guitar upside down.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Wow, very cool.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
It's a blue guitar.
It's a blue semi hollow bodyguitar.
Wow, yes, if you want to check.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yeah, well, we'll
definitely share that here on
the video.
What was your watching themovie?
What was your favorite?
What is your favorite part?
Which scene is your favoritewhen you watch the?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
movie.
There's so many like they'reall so good.
I can't answer that that's waytoo hard.
Well, I mean probably like whenwe jump into the laundry room
and Zach just walks by notnoticing.
Our legs are clean, sticking up.
But then I also liked the fightwith Billy, gina and Zach on
(37:19):
the table.
Oh yeah, the floor was soconfusing.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
One of my favorite
scenes is when Gina turned into
Billy.
Oh yes, that was confusing.
Oh no, what is she saying?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
Alright, well, not
specifically speaking to the
movie Spy Kids Armageddon, butas far as being an actor.
What is your favorite partabout being an actor?
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Well, I really like
getting the opportunity to work
with different people.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
What about you,
connor?
Speaker 2 (37:59):
Traveling, just
simply Traveling.
For me, whenever I booksomething and they're like, and
my parents are like oh, it's inLA, I'm like For a few
commercials.
I went to Nevada for mySinclair audition, for my
Sinclair commercial.
I don't know if you guys havewatched it.
(38:20):
That was in the middle ofnowhere, but yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Oh, same with me.
I filmed a Lays commercial forLays Poppables.
I had to go to LangCaster Wait.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
I don't know my
geography.
Sorry, that's not in the US, isit no?
Speaker 1 (38:41):
it's like LangCaster
is in the US, but it's so far
and it's so hot.
From here it's so like amillion miles away and it was so
hot In the middle of when theywere setting up shots.
I was like I need a break.
I'm overheating.
I have to go in the trailer.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
It's only about an
hour and a half north of Los
Angeles, but it is in the desert.
So yeah, it was really hot, that day it was like a four hour
drive to Las Vegas Nevada thing.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
They had us in a very
nice hotel, though I will give
them that they had a beautifulswatch store where they actually
had kid sizes.
So there was this giant wall ofjust kids watches.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
And I'm like, oh, I
was like eight, so I picked the
silliest looking one.
I kind of regret it, but it's abeautiful watch, so I'm not
angry.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
So meeting new people
, working with new people,
traveling it all sounds veryexciting.
What advice would you give toany kids out there that would
maybe like to become an actor?
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Be yourself, but be
someone else.
Yeah, like you can be yourself.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
Be both.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Be yourself like.
Don't change the way you talkor anything.
Don't try to be better than whoyou are.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
Don't try to Can I
add to that?
Yeah, so basically what you'resaying is don't change your
personality and your attitude onhow you do stuff, because when
you do the thing, you just work.
When you put your own twist onstuff, you get better results.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
Exactly, you bring
yourself to the character.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
Yes, not the
character to you.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
I see.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
My favorite part
about acting as well in general
is just being yourself andeveryone being okay with it.
And my advice to other peoplethat are trying to act get an
agent, try to get a manager, andif you have trouble memorizing
(40:49):
while you're trying to memorize,throw a ball.
Oh, throw a ball.
Or catch or something.
Just have both parts of yourbrain moving.
Your brain will get used tosaying those words because it's
matched with emotion and thenyou slowly start to stop doing
that motion and then you learnit.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
I hadn't heard that
method before.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Yes, so you just
throw something while you're
reading and then your brainmemorizes the motion and it auto
says the words that go with it.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
It's very weird, Very
scientific Well thank you both
