Getting Lost is the Best Way to Find Yourself

Crossing the border into Baja, there were no plans of joining other travelers and van-lifers while we journeyed south to experience as much of Baja as we could in the two short months that we were there.

Turns out, though, as our travels often do, that we became a part of a van-life community that was about much more than just finding the beautiful places. This community of van-lifers and travelers gets you lost in the moment all while helping you find exactly where you're supposed to be, even if you didn't know you were looking for it in the first place.

The Journal of Lost Time: Van-Life Gatherings

Josiah and his team at the Journal of Lost Time do exactly that, all while welcoming everyone in: travelers, van-lifers, locals, dreamers, activists, pretty much anyone who is excited about all that the beautifully odd human race has to offer all across the globe.

These van-life, traveler gatherings create community through local art, food, music, dance, beer, and the pure joy of finding a community while enjoying the freedom of the open road.

Meet Josiah Roe from The Journal of Lost Time

This cowboy hat wearing, travel loving, event producing person is much more than just those titles. Josiah Roe is the brain behind events that celebrate the joy that people find when they come together to be...well, just together. His van-life events are held all across the globe with one main goal - a celebration of community.

Temporary villages of locals, nomads, van-lifers, and overlanders gathered together in celebration of community, and community in beautiful places. Because, as The Journal of Lost Time community says, "We go further, together."

Whether you're looking for community on the road or you're an event planner yourself, listening to Josiah will get you pumped either way. He has a passion for creating connections while advocating for the places those connections are made in, and that's just the beginning. Yes, the events he hosts are about bringing people together, but doing so is also about doing it in a way that attendees are always welcomed back and travelers and locals learn from each other, making lasting connections.
