We’re Lesley and Ajit, just a couple of friends living with the ups and downs of life. Life is big and perspective is everything, and when it comes to living it's not always black and white, it's generally everything in-between. Join us as we share our thoughts, learnings and laughs navigating this crazy little thing called life.
So 2023 finished and 2024 started, but the podcast sort of didn't...until now. We're back for 2024 for a new year of us being us, navigating life, talking life and trying to enjoy the journey as we go. Same Lesley, same Ajit, same friendship.
Simple question, if you could do anything would you be doing what you are doing. If the answer is no, then what's stopping you. Sure, it may be a thought question but is it really, are you subconsciously stopping yourself from taking that step. We have an interesting chat, as friends do, that does open up the possibilities. Maybe it will trigger something in you too.
Today we look at what happens when things just creep up on you and throw you off balance. So what is it? Ajit has a thought on this and puts it to Lesley that goals are the problem and that objectives is where you should be at. As always put us on in the background, have a listen and let us know what you think.
Life is good and life is bad, but we only ever really question life in the lows. Today we go from Kookaburra feathers and end up at not forcing the decision. Is it about the soulful breath and flow, or is it kookaburras and fate. Whatever it is why not put us on in the background and listen to some L&A esoteric meanderings over life.
When you come across stories that are at the grassroots, close to you, they become more real and relatable. The premise today comes from the world of wrestling, yeah the flashy show-off wrestling, but the question that it raises is "Is your path the passion?". We chat about making living each day a passion as opposed to looking at the destination being the object of your success.
A topic we ummed and aghed about because of how it split the community. The weekend has been about The Voice Referendum in Australia. We're not a political podcast but there was some sadness, confusion and needing to know more about what transpired over the weekend, so we talked out our thoughts and emotions.
Generally Lesley is the question asker and Ajit is the open book, but in this episode we get personal with Lesley. It all starts with an article Lesley sent Ajit, from an interview with Harry Garside, which got Ajit probing into Lesley's self talk. An episode where you get to hear Lesley reflecting and questioning herself. Ajit just enjoyed watching Lesley squirm under the investigation.
Are birthdays a big deal in your life, or just another day? In this episode we chat about how we celebrate, or don't, our life milestones. Age changes with time. Well of course it does, but do we know that consciously? We talk about how we should celebrate life and celebrate those that come in and out of our life. Life is precious so live each day and the uniqueness of those in it.
This episode starts with laughter after a poorly (perfectly?) timed off-mic joke from Ajit, and turns into a deeply personal reflection on a challenging time in Ajit’s life. It leads to a passionate discussion between Lesley and Ajit about the importance of finding our way back to who we really are.
Have you ever thought about how you connect to people? Today we got into knowing a person as opposed to actually "knowing" a person. We talk about connecting through familiarity, looking into a persons soul or connecting through emotion. And what's this whole energy business when it comes to people. Today we are just two friends, two non-experts, making our own energy and connection through good old...
You'd think that for our tenth episode we'd have something deep and meaningful, but no. This is just us chatting about stuff that amounts to nothing… but we had a good time!
We hope our reminiscing and laughter brightens your day.
Just be aware, we had started recording while Lesley was incensing the place up and didn’t know we were on, so the volume changes a bit and you may need to adjus...
This week we think talk about the can and wills of doing life. Life is about growth, and each hurdle and challenge we get over the greater our life experience, so when the next challenge in life comes along you know it's not that mountain you once thought it could be. Simple when you think about it, but boy we can really work ourselves up...So cut yourself some slack as even we go through it.
After Lesley decides to tease Ajit on his pronunciation, they cycle through several topics, and scratch the surface on some moral and ethical queries around excellence, image and money. Is the pursuit for excellence a wasted one? Should the rich, powerful and the celebrity be the ones we put up there as role models? What would you do with a $100m, would it change you? Come with us on this loose ride through our th...
Why does Lesley have a decapitated monk in her garden? What's the deal with all the Bhuddist stuff around her house? Opinions, feelings, thoughts, what's it all about? This week listen to the cogs of our mind grind to near failure as we grapple with our own meandering thoughts. We couldn't really describe what we talked about this week, just two friends talking about our thoughts.
It's funny what happens when we chat after indulging in a pile of fresh samosas. This episode we chat about personal identity and validation. Do we put too much pressure on who we are? Do we care too much about what others see? Is validation good or bad and do we need it? Life can be hard enough without the added pressures we put on ourselves, about ourselves. And all this after Lesley pokes Ajit on online ...
Hey, we're back! As is with this crazy little thing called life, our actual life sometimes means we have to put our love of doing the podcast on hold, but it's only ever temporary. So, we've worked out how to use the equipment again, and added in our own dodgy production value to give you this episode which goes from where we've been, to losing friends, to life planning. There's tears and l...
Life should be good but it can have a lot of "chaos". Instead of letting it fester, let's acknowledge it, work on it and take back personal control of our lives. This week we chat about the ins and outs of dealing with life chaos, and doing the work.
Ajit poses the question to Lesley of the pain of being a woman, not before he puts off all airline pilots.
We made it to our next episode, so what shall we talk about? Lesley gets curious and gets a crash course on Ajit being a Sikh, and we learn Ajit still regularly gets told off by his Mum.
Hooray, Lesley and Ajit finally publish their first podcast!
As much as life is good, Ajit is feeling unsettled. Lesley and Ajit explore what's going on and talk about why he’s not the only one feeling this way, why it’s a good thing to pay attention to it and what he (and many others out there) can do about it.
