Hey. I'm Parker Blockcher, and this is Crease
Monsters, the podcast where wetalk all things lacrosse about
epic highlights, year reviews, game predictions, and, of
course, some special guests.Whether you're stringing up a
new pocket, gearing up for gameday, or just chill in between
practices, this is your go tospot for all things the cross.

If you haven't already, hit thatfollow button wherever you're
listening, and let's get intoit.
The Six Nations Chiefs have done it again. Three
straight man cup titles.Watching them play was unreal. I
was lucky enough to be atseveral of the games. The energy
in the arena was like nothingI've ever felt.
The bellies fought so hard withthe bellies winning the first

(00:44):
two. I thought just maybe theycould pull it off the upset and
take the win. But the Chiefsshowed why they're the champions
by adjusting their defense, pushing the pace, and grinding
it out. But the first game isburned into my brain. Seeing the
Man Cup live for the first time,it was everything I imagined and

(01:07):
more.
Now the PLL playoffs. Wow. TheNew York Atlas, my favorite
team, just tore it up in thefinal against Denver. Their ball
movement was so sharp. It feltlike the other team couldn't
even catch their breath for asecond.
Trevor Bapsies was absolutelydominating the face offs, giving
Atlas extra possessions, andtheir goalie stood tall on some

(01:31):
massive saves. Atlas defenselocked it down. Jeff T was
lights out, threading passesthrough traffic like it he had
X-ray vision, and the only realupset was Sander Dixon leaving
on a stretcher. I really hopehe's okay. And when the final
whistle sounded, the Atlasplayers threw their helmets up

(01:52):
in the air and felt like thewhole PLL was celebrating.
As if that wasn't enough, NewYork hosted a street lacrosse
event. The very next day, picture pros and fans mixed
together right on a city street, music pumping, kids running
around with sticks, pros tossingtrick shots. There were people

(02:13):
who had probably never seenlacrosse, and now they're
screaming and high fivingstrangers. Let's talk gear. This
week, we are chatting about armpads.
I've been running with the Stxlsix arm pads, and these things
are no joke. The protection issolid. You take a long pull to

(02:33):
the arm, barely felt it, andthey move with your arms. So
you're not fighting with yourequipment. When you're dodging
our crank shot, they don'tslide.
You strap them on, and they staylocked. I noticed a bunch of the
PLL midfielders and I attackthem and wearing them too. So
it's not just me. The PLL draftwas another big moment. Bo

(02:54):
Peterson got picked by the up byUtah.
He's a physical defender who canthrow some serious checks. Dylan
Hess heading to Philly. Hisspeed is going to make their
transition game. And Sam Englishto the Redwoods, he's versatile
to play both sides, and I thinkhe's going to be a fit right

(03:18):
into their system. Already hypedto see how these rookies shake
things up next season.
And on my side of the world, field lacrosse is back on the
West Coast. Our game one kickedoff this weekend in classic West
Coast fashion, the skies openedup and it just poured. But
honestly, there's somethingabout running onto a soaked

(03:42):
field, raining dripped off yourhelmet, and still feeling that
first whistle is the best. Beingback with my team, the smell of
wet turf, it just makes you lovethe game even more. What a week
for lacrosse.
Chiefs cementing their dynastyand Atlas lifting the PLO

(04:02):
trophy. Rookies are ready tomake some noise. Street lacrosse
bring the game to the people. It's such a great time to be a
lacrosse fan. And before I wrapthings up, I've got to give a
huge shout out to my own team, the Breards.
I can't wait to get out therewith you guys and keep the
momentum rolling.

(04:23):

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
