A 36-year-old Volcano woman, Rebecca Sutliff, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies related to identity theft, forgery, and theft from an elderly individual. She is accused of forging six checks totaling $1,950 and depositing them into her own account between July 20 and July 29, 2024.
The charges against Sutliff include identity theft, forgery, and theft in the second degree (for stealing from a person over 60). If convicted, she could face significant prison time or probation.
The Hawaiʻi Police Department is urging anyone with information about the case to contact Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
