26-year-old Melissa Sowders was raising her 4 children with her high school sweetheart-turned husband, Matthew Sowders. They had gotten married at only 16-years-old after Melissa got pregnant with their first child. Over time, the relationship ran its course and Melissa was ready to move on. Forced to sign over her rights due to financial issues, Melissa struggled to care for herself while trying to stay in her kids' lives.
With a new boyfriend in tow, Melissa spends her first Christmas without her kids. The next day, she meets up with Matthew to see her youngest child. But when Melissa disappears shortly after, police uncover a shocking affair and a secret pregnancy that all seem to lead to a tragic end.
