Police initially labeled it a suicide at the scene. But the medical examiner ruled it a homicide…before changing it back to suicide after a closed-door meeting. Since then, evidence debates, expert disputes, a controversial scene cleanup, and a recent settlement promising a new review have kept this case in the spotlight.
