Fifteen years. Twenty stab wounds. One official ruling that left her parents devastated. In 2011, 27-year-old Ellen Greenberg was found in her Philadelphia apartment with a head laceration and 20 stab wounds: ten to the back of her neck, others to her chest and abdomen, and a fatal wound to the heart. Police initially labeled it a suicide at the scene. But the medical examiner ruled it a homicide…before changing it back to suicide after a closed-door meeting. Since then, evidence debates, expert disputes, a controversial scene cleanup, and a recent settlement promising a new review have kept this case in the spotlight. Just weeks ago, a new report again listed Ellen’s death as suicide. Katie shares her thoughts about the day of Ellen’s death and what comes next.
