In the suburbs of Vancouver, nurse Cindy James reported nearly a hundred incidents of stalking, threatening calls, and violent attacks over seven years. Then, in 1989, her body was found—hogtied, drugged, and dumped behind an abandoned house. The coroner called it “death by unknown event.” The police called it suicide.
