Lorsqu' Albert Einstein entend parler pour la première fois de l’histoire qui nous occupe aujourd’hui, on rapporte qu’il aurait eu ce commentaire déroutant : “ce jeune homme a trébuché dans le temps... comme d'autres ratent une marche d'escalier”. Ce jeune homme, c’est Jean Romier, un étudiant en médecine du début du XXe siècle. Un soir de juin 1925, il croise la route d’un étrange personnage, qui l’invite à un concert de musique de chambre. Sans le savoir, Romier va comme voyager dans le temps, et assister à un spectacle donné plusieurs décennies plus tôt… Notre mystère du jour passionne chercheurs et ésotéristes depuis plus d’un siècle…
