This week has been a mixed bag across the board. Crypto market is not as bad and some would say, and a lot of SEC enforcement news. Then you have news that is not directly crypto such as TikTok in front of Congress and Apple and Amazon wanting to place Billions into entertainment.

This and more in this week's recap of news.

Being in the crypto, blockchain, and future web space is never dull, thats for sure. The narrative by John Rice on the judges response to SEC’s request to prohibit Binance US from acquiring Voyager’s assets, was awesome.

In short, what enables the SEC to enforce in the absence of clarity and actual regulation to support their claims?

This and more in this week's recap of news.

Market was beat up this week. A race to the bottom with zero fee NFT marketplaces. But don't worry there will be a day when revenue is necessary for the business model. Ambiguity with regulation continues and this week was one for a need to have a cold shower and wake up fresh this coming week.

Here's the thing, we're still early in the game of crypto, blockchain, and future web developments. The hindsight of looking in the rearview mirror on how innovation has historically been greeted with the same ambiguity as crypto and AI is happening today.

It would be much smoother if incumbents would just realize they could be the disruptors by cannibalizing their own models to secure their future success.

AI is becoming a recurring theme so far in 2023. It appears regulation and governance will be coming much sooner for AI than what is happening with crypto.

The results of AI has many people questioning the bias and the opt-in of source.

While we would hope that history does not repeat itself, it seems that may be the case.

This and more in this week's recap of news.

Week 07, Year 2023, Episode 45.

Microsoft using OpenAI in Bing search is big AI news. Disney had a big week and a pretty cool strategic play which diffused the proxy fight. How do these two correlate? OpenAI might be Microsoft's version of Pixar ;)

AI is experiencing a substantial amount of interest, especially from investors. There is even companies receiving millions of dollars and they do not have a company name yet.

We love the potential but it seems like the innovation chaos that happens time after time working in tech, will repeat itself. We just hope it doesn't leave as many scars as other scenarios.

Apple may have finally leveraged their position to the point that enough collective opposition will combat their marketplace dominance with the App Store to change.

But even if they do not change, it does open a huge opportunity to create a new solution.

Bob Iger is back at Disney. But what does that mean for their web3, Blockchain, crypto and metaverse future?

Iger has a great deal of influence with how he sets strategy and direction for Disney with this tech.

But, what is also of great importance is how seasoned CEOs manage downturn, crisis, and value. The noob CEOs and founders of crypto, web3 start-ups need to develop more critical thinking and start helping to build ...

FTX headlines continue, but one other big talking point this week is that of Twitter.

We did not buy Twitter, none of us did. Elon Musk bought Twitter.

And Elon is getting beaten up about it. While we may have opinions about the changes, you have to acknowledge that he is losing billions to try and make Twitter profitable, something Twitter has always struggled with.

It will be interesting to see what Twitter looks like in 36...

The advertisement model needs innovation. While there is a massive budget, there are becoming too many portals with an Ad model revenue that keep cutting up the overall pie.

Meta stock is down, but when Arweave announced they're working with Meta, their coin goes up in value? Perceived value is funny that way.

When a company reaches a critical mass, should we not evolve the way we search for value?

Example. Netflix has reached a critical mass. Yes new subscribers are important, BUT. Is retention of existing subscribers and cash flow not more important to help determine current value?

New subscribers alone does not make sense to us.
