Packard, a 19th-century mother of six, was institutionalized by her husband for asserting her independence. Moore highlights Packard's resilience, her literary talents, and her crowdfunding efforts to publish her memoirs.
The book's detailed research includes historical documents and personal accounts, emphasizing Packard's impact and the ongoing struggle against women's silencing.
