Have you ever felt abandoned by God?

Like you’re doing all the things—praying, showing up, staying faithful—and yet… the silence is deafening?

In today’s episode, Alexandra speaks directly to that lonely place. Drawing from Scripture and personal reflection, she unpacks 5 powerful truths to anchor your heart when God feels absent. This episode is a reminder that silence is not the same as absence, and even in the dark, God is forming something deeper in you.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why even Jesus experienced divine silence—and what that means for us
  • How to walk by faith when you see no fruit
  • What God might be forming in you through quiet seasons
  • How to stay rooted in truth when you’re tempted to give up
  • The promise that God sees your unseen labor of love

Scriptures Referenced:

  • Matthew 27:46 – “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
  • Isaiah 45:15 – “Truly you are a God who hides himself…”
  • 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 – “Hard-pressed but not crushed…”
  • Habakkuk 3:17–18 – “Though the fig tree does not bud…”
  • Hebrews 6:10 – “God is not unjust; He will not forget your labor of love…”
  • Romans 5:5, Romans 8:37, 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 40:30–31
  • 1 Kings 19 – Elijah and the whisper of God

Reflection Questions:

  • Where am I tempted to give up because I feel forgotten?
  • What fruit am I demanding instead of trusting the root work God is doing?
  • Can I choose worship—even here?

purpose, then you've come to theright place.

(01:04):
Hi, I'm Alexandra.
I too felt lost, unsure of thedirection my life was leaking.
I yearned or understand mypurpose and have someone guide
me.
But I kept telling myself I wastoo busy.
The timing wasn't right, and mylack of clarity prevented me
from being consistent until Ifound Christ.

(01:25):
He brought peace into my lifeand revealed the way to find
purpose by anchoring myself.
In him.
In this podcast, we'll journeytogether exploring the Bible to
gain a deeper understanding ofhim and cultivate your own
personal relationship withChrist.
So open up your Bible, put inthose earbuds and listen up

(01:46):
because God is speaking to you.
He's making everything new andyou don't wanna miss it.
Let's get started.
Truth number one, you're in goodcompany.
Even Jesus felt forsaken.

(02:08):
Matthew 27, verse 46 says, myGod, my God, why have you
forsaken me?
Jesus himself cried out in painand silence on the cross.
If the son of God could feelthis, we know it doesn't mean we
failed.
It means we're participating inhis suffering.
You are walking a road thatJesus walked to who?

(02:32):
Truth number two, silencedoesn't mean absence.
Isaiah 45 verse 15 says, trulyyou are God who hides himself.
Sometimes it feels like God issilent and we wonder where were
you?
God, especially when we'vewalked through pain or childhood
wounds or unanswered prayers, and we've prayed for so long,

(02:52):
this can erode our faith if welet these thoughts unchecked.
But the truth is God saw you.
He had compassion.
He was never far.
It was not his will for you tobe harmed.
But we have somehow, as humans,we have to see that without God,
we are lost at the right timewhen your heart is ready, he
shows himself not as a distantGod, but as a redemptive loving

(03:16):
father, a healer, a restorer,and even now.
In your walk with him, there maybe seasons of silence, not
because he is angry or absent, but because he is growing
something deeper in you.
Like a loving parent who letstheir child take their first
step without holding on.
God sometimes hides to developyour courage or your faith or

(03:38):
your trust or whatever it isthat he's working at the moment.
It takes faith to believe again,I get it.
It takes courage to trust again.
But the spirit of God is not oneof fear.
It is a spirit of power, of loveand a sound mind as two Timothy
chapter one, verse seven says, faith will not disappoint you.

(03:59):
Romans five, verse five.
So day by day, even in thequiet, choose to walk with him.
He is near even in the silence.
Truth number three, you arestill being formed in the
silence.
Second Corinthians four, verseseight through nine says, we are
hard pressed on every side, butnot crushed, perplexed, but not

(04:20):
in despair.
Struck down, but not destroyed.
Paul understood the weight ofministry, of obedience, and
walking with God in a brokenworld.
He knew what it felt like to beoverwhelmed under pressure and
worn thin, but he clung to thistruth.
We're not destroyed.
Even when we don't see progress, even in the silence, God is

(04:40):
still working.
He's refining his shaping andforming something deeper within
us we cannot fathom what God isdoing.
We can only trust, choose totrust.
And you and I are still here, aren't we?
We're not forgotten.
We're not finished.
God is not done.
You are being formed forsomething eternal.
As I said, you are more than aconqueror through him who loves

(05:03):
you.
Romans eight verse 37.
Truth number four, faith oftengrows best in the dark.
Habakkuk three verses 17 through18 says, though the fig tree
does not bud yet, I will rejoicein the Lord even when there is
no fruit.
No result, no payout, no visibleprogress.
We worship why.

(05:23):
Because our God is nottransactional.
He is relational.
He's faithful even when lifefeels barren.
So let us respond back to himwith faith.
Truth number five, God will notforget your labor of love.
Hebrews six, verse 10 says, Godis not unjust.
He will not forget your work andthe love you have shown him as

(05:45):
you have helped his people.
Just because there's no paychecktoday.
No closed deal.
No applause.
No husband.
It doesn't mean God isn't seeingHe sees it all.
You are storing a paternaltreasure even when the bank
account looks bleak or you arestill single.
So let's recap these five truthsto remember when God feels

(06:05):
absent.
Number one, you're in goodcompany.
Even Jesus felt forsaken.
Even Jesus experienced silenceand he was deeply loved by the
father.
If he felt that way and stilltrusted, then you're walking in
his footsteps.
This is the path of a Christ'sfollower.
Number two, silence doesn't meanabsence.
God may be quiet, but he isnever far in the stillness.

(06:27):
He's forming something deeper.
Courage, trust, or a resilientfaith, whatever it is, something
he is doing.
Number three, you're still beingformed in the silence.
Just because you don't seechange doesn't mean he isn't
working.
You're still being held, stillbeing shaped.
Keep going.
Number four, faith often growsbest in the dark, just like a

(06:50):
garden.
When nothing is showing abovethe soil, it doesn't mean the
seed isn't taking roots.
Don't pull the seed up too soon.
Trust the process.
God is faithful.
Number five, God will not forgetyour labor of love.
What you do in secret is notunseen.
God remembers your prayers, yourservice, your tears.

(07:10):
You are storing up treasure inheaven.
So take a moment today toreflect on these truth.
Speak them out loud, write themin your journal and ask
yourself, where am I tempted togive up because I feel
forgotten.
What fruit am I demandinginstead of trusting the root
work God is doing?
And can I choose worship evenhere?

(07:31):
Let these truth remind you thatGod is not done.
You are still becoming who hecreated you to be, and you're
exactly where you need to beright now.
You are not crazy for wantingfruit or stability or reward.
You are not unfaithful forfeeling tired.
You are human and the delays, they have a purpose.

(07:51):
God is using them to teach youhow to depend fully on him, to
let go of what you thought youhad to hold onto to see him
clearly, to be renewed, toreceive a peace that transcends
your circumstances, even you.
Grow weary.
Isaiah 40 30 through 31 says, even youth grow tired and weary,

(08:12):
but those who hope in the Lordwill renew their strength.
God has plans for you greaterthan anything you could imagine.
But when you grow weary, remember this, you are not
invisible to God.
You are seen known, you arestill called.
So keep going.
Choose faith over your doubtsand keep going.
Think about Elijah in one King,19, he was so done.

(08:35):
He literally wanted to die.
He said, I've had enough Lord.
He felt completely alone, butGod didn't shame him, didn't
lecture him.
God came gently.
Not in the fire, not in theearthquake, but in a whisper and
in that quiet moment, Godreminded Elijah, you're not
alone and neither are you.
Thank you for listening toCurious for Christ.

(08:56):
If this encouraged you, wouldyou share it with someone who
might need to hear?
They're not alone.
We are in this together.
Until next time, keep seeking.
Keep trusting and stay curiousfor Christ by my friend.
