Welcome back to Curious for Christ! Trusting God’s timing is one of the biggest challenges in our faith journey. Why does waiting feel so hard? And how do we shift from frustration to peace? Today, I’m sharing three key steps to help you trust God’s process with confidence.

3 Steps to Trusting God’s Timing

  1. Release Control – Trust begins when we surrender our expectations and let go of the need to understand everything. God’s plan is higher than ours (Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 55:8-9).
  2. Embrace the Waiting – The waiting season is not wasted; it’s preparation. Instead of asking when, focus on who God is shaping you to become (Jeremiah 17:6-8, Lamentations 3:22-23).
  3. Walk in Faith, Not Fear – Trusting God’s timing doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means stepping forward in faith, even without all the answers (Psalm 37:5, Matthew 17:20, Joshua 1:9).

Scriptures Shared in This Episode

  • Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
  • Isaiah 55:8-9 – God’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours.
  • Galatians 5:1 – Christ has set us free—trusting Him leads to true freedom.
  • Jeremiah 17:6-8 – Those who trust in the Lord flourish, even in difficult seasons.
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 – God’s mercies are new every morning.
  • Psalm 37:5 – Commit your way to the Lord, trust Him, and He will act.
  • Matthew 17:20 – Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
  • Hebrews 11:6 – Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
  • Joshua 1:9 – Be strong and courageous; the Lord is with you wherever you go.

Final Encouragement

If you’re struggling with God’s timing, know that you’re not alone. The process takes time, but God’s plan is always perfect. Have you ever looked back and realized He was working all along? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Welcome back to Curious forChrist.

(00:02):
Today we're talking aboutsomething we all wrestle with,
trusting God's timing.
Why is it so hard?
And how do we move fromfrustration to peace?
I've uncovered three key stepsto help you understand the
process.
Trusting God's timing isn't justabout waiting for the right

(00:23):
things to happen.
It's about learning toexperience peace through the
process, not just when wefinally get what we want or when
we give up on our dreamsaltogether.
Too often we swing betweenstriving for achievement or
feeling like we're failing ifthings don't happen on our
timeline, but that's not how Godworks.

(00:46):
When we truly understand histiming and the process that he
puts us through, we can walkwith him daily with clarity,
with trust, with confidence, andopen up our spiritual eyes to
see what he's doing in our livesright now.
So let's dive in.

(01:10):
Welcome to Curious For Christ.
Do you ever find yourself lying, awake at night, wondering about
God's plan for your life?
Maybe you wake up with bigdreams, but feel unsure where to
start or what your next stepshould be.
If you're curious aboutexploring your faith and finding
purpose, then you've come to theright place.

(01:31):
Hi, I'm Alexandra.
I too felt lost, unsure of thedirection my life was leaking.
I yearned or understand mypurpose and have someone guide
me.
But I kept telling myself I wastoo busy.
The timing wasn't right, and mylack of clarity prevented me
from being consistent until Ifound Christ.

(01:52):
He brought peace into my lifeand revealed the way to find
purpose by anchoring myself.
In him.
In this podcast, we'll journeytogether exploring the Bible to
gain a deeper understanding ofhim and cultivate your own
personal relationship withChrist.
So open up your Bible, put inthose earbuds and listen up

(02:13):
because God is speaking to you.
He's making everything new andyou don't wanna miss it.
Let's get started.
Step number one, releasecontrol.
We often struggle with trustbecause we want answers now.

(02:36):
But Proverbs three verses fivethrough six reminds us to trust
in the Lord with all our heartsand not lean on our own.
Understanding true trust startswith surrender.
Trusting God's timing isn't justabout waiting.
It is about surrender.

(02:57):
True trust starts when werelease control and acknowledge
that God sees what we cannot.
His timing is always perfect, but let's be real.
Letting go isn't easy, especially when our expectations
don't match what's happening inour lives.
But why do we struggle withexpectations in the first place?

(03:20):
From an early age, we alldevelop a certain understanding
of what life should look like.
Our parents had expectations forus.
Society told us what success andhappiness should mean.
We internalized beliefs aboutour worth, our dreams, and how
things should unfold.
These expectations shape ourdecisions.

(03:43):
Our emotions and even our faith, but part of trusting God's
timing is sitting in the presentand allowing him to bring to the
surface things we may not evenbe aware of.
He gently reveals how many ofour expectations were not from
him at all.

(04:04):
But we're shaped by our past, our culture, and the world
around us.
This is why releasing control issuch a vital part of trusting
God.
It's not passive.
It's rather an active process ofsurrendering what we thought we
needed so we can receive.
What God is actually doing.

(04:25):
His ways are not our ways.
As Isaiah 55 verses eightthrough nine says, they are not
the world's ways, not ourparents' ways, and not the ways
we've conditioned ourselves tobelieve are necessary for our
happiness.
And yet this process can feellike we are losing something,

(04:48):
like we're dying to parts ofourselves.
And in a way we are, but we'renot losing who we truly are.
So relax, we are sheddinginstead, everything that was
placed upon us that does notbelong.
The thoughts, the fears, theself-imposed limitations, all of

(05:12):
it must be unraveled.
So we can walk in true freedom.
Galatians five verse one says,it is for freedom that Christ
has set us free.
Stand firm then, and do not letyourselves be burdened again by
a yoke of slavery.
God's process is always afreeing process.

(05:34):
He loves us, he cares for us,and he is unburdening you.
From what was never meant foryou so that he can replace it
with his truth.
The dreams God places in ourhearts are meant to be lived
with him.
If we could accomplish them inour own strength, we would need
him, and that's why trust isessential.

(05:56):
And they're so great, theyencourage us to go through that
not so pleasant dying process ofremoving what does not belong so
that we can receive God fully.
I do believe that God gives usamazing dreams, because he wants
us to have hope because theprocess can feel sometimes

(06:20):
discouraging.
Even Paul said that he despairedof life itself, but these dreams
are a reminder that you can gothrough it.
It is worth it.
and this is the bigger picture.
On the way to fulfilling yourdreams, god is not just asking
us to release control just forthe sake of it.
He is actually restoring us.

(06:42):
Through the process of us takingaction to fulfilling our dreams,
God is also changing us from theinside out.
And when we surrender, he'sbringing us back to our original
design, our Genesis one design,Adam and Eve, walking freely
with God in the Garden of Edenwithout burdens, without

(07:02):
striving, fully trusting him.
Exploring life, enjoying life.
That's the life we were createdfor a life of peace,
fulfillment, and intimacy withGod.
And God knows exactly how to getus there.
But from the very beginning, humanity doubted Adam and Eve

(07:22):
didn't trust God's goodness, andthey acted on their own
understanding.
And that one decision led to allthe burdens we now carry.
Generation after generation, after generation, and it is your
opportunity when you choose totrust, to end that pattern.
Every time we try to control ourcircumstances, instead of

(07:45):
surrendering to God, we repeatthat same pattern.
We know where that led.
Read your Bible and you'll seeit never leads to something
good.
But every time we releasecontrol, we allow God to restore
us to the freedom we were alwaysmeant to walk in.
So God's process is alwaysfreeing and you may feel

(08:10):
frustrated with where you areright now or disappointed, and
that is okay.
You may feel like you should befurther along, that's okay too.
But you have to start somewhere.
And here's the beautiful truth.
The sooner we release control, the faster we can step into this
incredible, fulfilling life thatGod is leading us to.

(08:33):
So today I encourage you, whatif instead of resisting the
process, you leaned into it,what if instead of fearing the
unknown, you embraced it as God,clearing the way for something
greater.
Because he is.
Step two, embrace the waiting.
Waiting isn't wasted when we useit to grow.

(08:56):
Instead of focusing on when Godwill answer, shift your focus to
who you are becoming in theprocess.
Every day God is shaping you, refining your faith.
And preparing you for what'sahead.
But if we're too fixated on ourown expectations and the big

(09:17):
picture, the big dreams that wehave, that we must fulfill
today, we can miss what he'sdoing right now in front of us
and the blessings.
Jeremiah 17, verse six warns us.
And says he will be like a bushin the wastelands.
He will not see prosperity whenit comes.

(09:38):
This is what happens when werely on our own strength.
Instead of trusting God, webecome spiritually blind to his
blessings, the daily wins, thedaily blessings that he's
bringing along the way, evenwhen they're right in front of
us.
We get so caught up in thewaiting for the big breakthrough

(09:59):
that we miss the smaller ways heis always providing.
But contrast that with Jeremiah17 verses seven through eight.
What's just next after thisPassage which describes.
Those who trust in the Lord as atree planted by water
flourishing even in difficultseasons.

(10:20):
This is what happens when weembrace the waiting instead of
resisting it.
So ask yourself, what is Godteaching me in this season?
What is he showing me?
Is he growing my patience?
Is he deepening my trust?
The waiting isn't a delay, it'spart of the preparation God

(10:40):
gives enough for today, hismercies on you every morning.
Lamentations three verses 22through 23.
Walk with him daily, lean intohis presence and don't rush
ahead.
And if you ever find yourselfpicking up the weight of control
again, return to step one andsurrender.

(11:01):
And then pray god, I trust you.
Even if things don't go the wayI expect, I believe you are
leading me to what's best.
That surrender brings peace, andin the waiting, God is restoring
you not just to receive ablessing, but to become the
person who can fully walk in it.
He's shaping you back to youroriginal design free and whole

(11:26):
in him.
Step three.
Walk in faith, not fear.
Trusting God's timing doesn'tmean doing nothing.
Like we said, it means takingfaithful steps forward even
without knowing the fullpicture.
Psalm 37 verse five reminds us,commit your way to the Lord.
Trust in him and he will act.

(11:48):
Faith opens the door for God tomove in ways we never expected.
When we let go of fear andchoose faith, we align ourselves
with God's power rather than ouronly limitations.
Hebrews 11, verse six says, andwithout faith, it is impossible
to please God.
Because anyone who comes to himmust believe that he exists and

(12:13):
that he rewards those whoearnestly seek him.
Faith strengthens us.
It gives us peace and allows Godto work beyond what we can see.
Fear keeps us stuck, but faithmoves mountains like Matthew 17,
verse 20 says, when we trusthim, we experience his

(12:34):
provision, his guidance, andeven miracles.
And here's the truth, you're notwalking through life in worry or
struggle for nothing.
None of it is in vain.
God sees you and he promises areward for those who trust him.
So choose faith.
Be courageous, be brave.

(12:55):
It is worth it.
Joshua one verse nine remindsus, have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid.
Do not be discouraged for theLord.
Your God will be with youwherever you go.
God loves you and you are safein his arms.
You are all good because He'sgot you.

(13:15):
So in conclusion, if you'restruggling with God's timing,
you are not alone.
We are all in this.
It's part of our humancondition, and each step in the
process takes time.
So it's okay if you findyourself going back to a
previous step.
There's no set timeline.
Everyone is walking their ownjourney and God is guiding you

(13:38):
through yours.
If you need to revisit step oneover and over, that's not
failure.
It's part of how God works.
He reveals things layer bylayer, and that's okay time is a
gift from God and because he isall knowing, he understands
exactly how much time you need.
He will give you that time.

(13:58):
His timing is always perfect.
Also, because he loves you.
He's not tricking you and thentelling you, well, you're too
late now.
That would be a lie, and that'snot the truth.
Have you ever had to let go ofsomething only to later realize
that God was working behind thescenes in ways you couldn't see?

(14:20):
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Please leave a review.
