Welcome back to Curious forChrist.
This is Alexandra Alvarez.
Today is good Friday, April18th, and with this episode, I
wanted to invite you into asacred pause, a space to reflect
on the three most powerful daysin human history.
Good Friday, silent Saturday, and Resurrection Sunday.

(00:22):
But this isn't just aboutlooking back.
It's about allowing God to speakto you.
Now because he's not onlycalling you to healing or
breakthrough in this life, he'scalling you into something much
deeper, A life of purpose, alife that echoes into eternity.

(00:44):
So if you're in a season wheresomething has ended, if you feel
stuck in the middle, or you'relonging for breakthrough without
knowing when or if it'll come, this episode is for you.

(01:05):
Welcome to Curious For Christ.
Do you ever find yourself lying, awake at night, wondering about
God's plan for your life?
Maybe you wake up with bigdreams, but feel unsure where to
start or what your next stepshould be.
If you're curious aboutexploring your faith and finding
purpose, then you've come to theright place.

(01:25):
Hi, I'm Alexandra.
I too felt lost, unsure of thedirection my life was leaking.
I yearned or understand mypurpose and have someone guide
me.
But I kept telling myself I wastoo busy.
The timing wasn't right, and mylack of clarity prevented me
from being consistent until Ifound Christ.

(01:46):
He brought peace into my lifeand revealed the way to find
purpose by anchoring myself.
In him.
In this podcast, we'll journeytogether exploring the Bible to
gain a deeper understanding ofhim and cultivate your own
personal relationship withChrist.
So open up your Bible, put inthose earbuds and listen up

(02:07):
because God is speaking to you.
He's making everything new andyou don't wanna miss it.
Let's get started.
Jesus died on a Friday.
Luke 23 verses 44 through 46says it was now about noon.

(02:31):
And darkness came over the wholeland until three in the
afternoon.
Jesus called out with a loudvoice, father, into your hands.
I commit my spirit.
When he had said this, hebreathed his last.
The world went quiet and dark.
The disciples scattered.

(02:53):
Hope it seemed was lost.
Maybe you've had a Friday likethat when everything changed.
I've had scary health diagnosisand needed to wait.
I've experienced the loss ofboth my parents and moments
where I wondered, is therereally life after this?
And what will it look like ifthere is?

(03:16):
Because everything that I'veknown has now gone, and yet even
there, God met me because henever left.
Saturday is the space in betweenthe silence.
We don't hear much about thisday in scripture, but we know
the disciples were afraid, grieving and locked behind

(03:37):
closed doors.
In John 20 verse 19, it says, onthe evening of that first day of
the week when the disciples weretogether with the doors locked
for fear of the Jewish leaders.
That Saturday waiting confusionand deep raw emotion.
Maybe you are in your ownSaturday, you're holding grief,

(03:59):
confusion or waiting forclarity.
You are wondering what comesnext and if God even sees you.
Saturday is where our emotionsrise and all the old beliefs
surface.
There's a stirring in our soulwhen we wait in anticipation

(04:19):
when we don't know what comesnext, there's a confrontation
with what we truly believeeverything is at war within.
It's where we must let the tearsfall if they need to fall.
And why?
Tears?
Because the pain in your life isreal and heavy, but there's an
even deeper ache.
The pain of having separatedourselves from God and never

(04:43):
really knowing him.
You see, just thanking God orcasually acknowledging him in
your life.
That's not the relationship hedied to give you.
He wants to be Lord of yoursoul, of your heart, your mind
and your strength.
God gave you his very life, hismost precious treasure, his one

(05:07):
and only son, but why?
Because you and I.
We needed that much rescuingyour survival.
My survival depended on thatsacrifice.
This isn't just about achievingdreams or goals here on earth.
This is about eternity.

(05:27):
The very reason you're alive inthe first place.
Don't settle for the lesserriches of this world and let
those determine how you willfeel and be today.
Because there are only shadowsof what's to come.
Let your Saturday tears fall.

(05:48):
Let your soul cry out because inthe waiting, in the silence, God
is speaking and he's calling youcloser.
And then Sunday comes Luke 24verses one through six says On
the first day of the week.

(06:09):
Very early in the morning, theyfound the stone rolled away, but
when they entered they did notfind a body.
The angel said, why do you lookfor the living among the dead?
He is not here.
He has risen.
Jesus rose from the grave andeverything changed.
The resurrection isn't somethingyou earn, it's something you

(06:32):
receive.
So how do we receive it?
By being still, by trusting histiming, by releasing what no
longer belongs in this new lifehe is offering you.
In Acts two, verses 36 through38, during Pentecost, Peter
stands before the crowd andreveals the truth.

(06:54):
This Jesus, whom you crucified, you, meaning you and I, my
friend, God has made both Lordand Messiah.
Messiah, the Savior.
The people are cut to theirheart and ask, what shall we do?
We need to be cut to the heart.

(07:15):
We need to allow our hearts tobe broken.
Peter, whom Jesus called therock on which he would build his
church response with clarity.
This is what we shall do.
Repent and be baptized every oneof you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness ofyour sins, and you will receive

(07:38):
the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This is the way back to God.
This is the invitation Jesusoffers us through his sacrifice
and his resurrection.
Again, this is not just abouthistory.
It's about you.
Without God, we are all lost, but God in his love sent Jesus

(08:01):
to make a way back.
Jesus already paid the prize.
You don't have to strive.
You don't have to hide.
You don't have to be evenperfect to come to God, but you
do have to respond.
Repent, repent.
Let go of what no longer servesthe new life he has for you.

(08:24):
Be baptized, fully immersed, sharing in his death and rise up
as a new creation, just as Jesussaid in John three verse five.
Truly, truly, I say to you, noone can enter the kingdom of God
unless they are born of waterand the spirit.

(08:44):
Then you'll receive the HolySpirit, which is the seal of you
belonging to God.
And live the life he's callingyou into with power, with grace
and with freedom.
I hope this message speaks toyou.
And on a personal note, thisweek I helped my husband finally

(09:04):
sell a house that he's had onthe market for a long time.
It is actually our personalhome, and the day that I listed
it, offer came in that moment, felt like a small resurrection.
But behind the scenes I wascarrying a lot.
Parenting a lot of work andpressure, and trying to be
strong for everyone.

(09:24):
And I asked God, how do I carryall of this without losing
myself?
And I felt him whisper, let mecarry you.
I have been a disciple for 20years now, but I still need him
to carry me to hold me.
It is a lifelong dedication towaiting on him, being guided by

(09:45):
his spirit, and letting thespirit produce fruit in my life.
Come to me, all those who areweary and burdened.
Jesus says, this is a personalinvitation from Jesus because
the truth is I can burden myselfwith the old, and my work is to
remain new.
Just like on the day that Ichose and said, no more, God is

(10:12):
Lord.
Died in the water andresurrected at baptism.
So a friend, you might bewaiting on your own breakthrough
financially, emotionally, orspiritually.
God has set a specific timewhere he will be found by you.
Don't waste the waiting and thepain, the tears, the quiet, the
letting go.

(10:32):
It all matters.
God is making everything new.
In the book of Resurrection, 21verse four, it says He will wipe
away every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more grief, crying, and pain will be no more
because the previous things havepassed away.

(10:54):
God is clearing the old to makeroom for what's next.
