Happiness is … discipline. Limitations. The most important limitations are the ones that we know to put on ourselves because they’re going to make us fit into the world without unnecessary conflicts that are bad for us in lots of ways. And being disciplined in ourselves will actually make our lives better. But there are also limitations that are put on us from the outside. Most importantly from our parents and especially in the years when we’re very young and need to be steered in the right direction.
For children discipline is one of the most important parts of growing up. Without you, as a parent, giving your child the right discipline, there’s sadly a really good chance that your child will suffer at school and in every social inter-action it has, and when they grow up they will not only fail to realised their full potential but may have serious mental health issues. And all of that will be down to you to a great extent – the good stuff and the bad stuff.
So let me explain what I mean and how it works.
As Jordan Peterson says, don’t let your children do anything that will make you dislike them.

Boysober
Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
