“Strong and Courageous” — Daily Christian Prayer for Overcoming Fear
Scripture Focus: Joshua 1:6

Welcome to Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Prayer Devotional Podcast with Reverend Ben Cooper — your five-minute daily spiritual reset designed to equip you with biblical truth, emotional strength, and unwavering courage.

Today’s devotional unpacks one of the Bible’s most commanding calls:

“Be strong and courageous...” — Joshua 1:6 (NIV)

But what does strength and courage look like in the chaos of modern life? When your calendar is full, your heart feels heavy, and your soul is stretched thin — how do you live courageously?

This short but powerful daily Christian prayer devotional meets you right there — in your real, everyday battles — with heavenly assurance that you are not alone.

Faith Over Fear: The Joshua 1:6 Moment

God’s command to Joshua wasn’t a suggestion — it was a divine charge:

  • Be strong.
  • Be courageous.
  • Step forward despite fear.

We are not called to wait for the fear to disappear — but to trust that God walks with us through it. Like Joshua stepping into unknown territory, you too can move forward when your strength comes from the Lord (Psalm 28:7).

Whether you’re navigating financial pressure, relational strain, health struggles, or spiritual dryness — this daily prayer invites you to shift your focus from giants to God’s promises.

Life Application: Where Courage Meets Daily Life

This devotional helps you carry courage into your:

  • Work meetings and school runs
  • Parenting, caregiving, and lonely moments
  • Health diagnoses and difficult conversations

You’ll be reminded that courage is not loud — it’s consistent, and rooted in the presence of God who goes before you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

“The battle is not yours, but God’s.” — 2 Chronicles 20:15
“Perfect love casts out fear.” — 1 John 4:18
“Fear must bow at the name of Jesus.” — Philippians 2:10

You’ll pray with confidence, declaring that fear is a liar and courage is your inheritance.

Today's Prayer Declaration

“Father, I will not shrink back in fear. I will rise in faith.
I may be outnumbered, but I’m never alone.
I choose to trust You. I choose to move forward.
 In Jesus’ name, amen.”

This daily prayer devotional podcast is more than just a moment — it’s a movement. A daily Christian prayer meeting across time zones, nations, and backgrounds — united by the power of God’s Word.

Father, in the name of Jesus, you tell us, through the book of

(01:19):
Joshua, chapter 1, verse 6, tobe strong and courageous.
And whatever lies ahead of ustoday, whatever is in front of
us at this hour, at this moment,we pray that the Holy Spirit
will lead us in paths ofrighteousness, that your glory
will come.
And today we will be strong andcourageous.

(01:41):
Lord, wherever we are acrossthis beautiful world, whatever

We will not allow the fear tograb hold of us.
We will not allow the worry ofmoney, lord, we will not allow
the lack of anything in ourlives because we lack nothing,
because we are filled to thefull measure of your glory.
So today, lord, we thank youthat your word is encouraging us
, that we are finding strength, lord, to continue to press on in

We're not going to run awayfrom the plains of Jericho, lord

(03:09):
, we're not going to worry howbig Jericho looks in our natural
eyes, because we believe thatthe hand of God is over us.
And today, as the day starts, whatever the hour is in our
lives, lord, whatever the timezone is in our world, father, we
thank you for the power of Godand will you, god, bless my

(03:30):
brothers and sisters whereverthey hear my voice.
Today, as we join, as we uniteas the kingdom of God in prayer,
as we run together in faith, lord, we run to the Goliath.
We will not, we will not, godback up.
We will not back away, lord.
We run to the situation and weunderstand that the battle

(03:53):
belongs to the Lord, spirit ofthe living God.
Let it rain today on mybrothers and sisters, let your
glory come, let your anointingcarry them, let them realize
that they are strong and theyare courageous.
And fear has to go.
Fear has to bow at the name ofJesus.
Lord, whatever the day is,whatever the hour is, whatever

(04:17):
the month is, lord, we believein the power of the word of God
and God's word is in our spiritand we are grafted into the vine
.
So, lord, wherever we are today, lord, let your anointing Lord,
let it rain over us today.
Lord, just as Elijah wasrunning, he prayed for rain and
it rained.

(04:37):
We're praying for peace and itis raining peace.
We're praying for joy and it israining joy.
Lord, we believe in the spiritof the living God and wherever
