Be Strong and Courageous | Joshua 1:6 — Daily Christian Prayer Devotion

Daily Prayers for Strength | Daily Prayer Podcast | Morning Devotionals UK & Global

Welcome to the Daily Christian Prayer Devotion Podcast—a powerful, Spirit-led prayer experience designed to anchor your faith every single day. Today’s prayer focus, taken from Joshua 1:6, is both timely and timeless:

“Be strong and courageous, for you shall lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.”

These aren’t just ancient words—they’re living promises for anyone facing uncertainty, fear, or spiritual resistance. This 5-minute daily prayer devotional is your opportunity to pause, realign your heart, and receive boldness through the presence of God.

Devotional Focus: Strength & Courage in the Face of Fear

What does it truly mean to “be strong and courageous” in today’s world of anxiety, instability, and spiritual warfare? This short, impactful prayer reveals that biblical courage is not rooted in personality—it’s birthed in God’s presence.

You’ll be guided to:

  • Declare God's Word over your situation
  • Choose faith when fear whispers loudly
  • Recognize courage as a spiritual decision, not an emotional reaction
  • Draw supernatural strength from the Holy Spirit within you

Strength and courage begin not with what you feel—but with what God has already said. As the Lord encouraged Joshua, so He encourages you today.

Scripture References:

  • Joshua 1:6 – Be strong and courageous
  • Joshua 1:9 – Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – God has not given us a spirit of fear
  • John 7:38 – Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water
  • Romans 8:31 – If God is for us, who can be against us?

Life Application for Today

You might be facing a relational storm, financial uncertainty, a health challenge, or ministry fatigue. Whatever your “Jordan River” looks like today, this devotional prayer is a reminder that your next step doesn’t rely on your strength—it relies on God’s power within you.

As you pray:

  • Speak boldly with faith
  • Call on the Holy Spirit for strength
  • Declare courage over your fears
  • Remember, you are not alone

Let's pray, father, in the nameof Jesus.
This is a great day becausethis is the day that the Lord
has made and I shall rejoice andbe glad.
And the prayer that we arelooking at today is coming from

(01:15):
the old testament and we havepicked it up in the book of
Joshua, chapter 1, verse 6 bestrong and courageous.
Father, in the name of Jesus, will you help us be strong and
courageous, just as theinstruction was given to Joshua
and Moses, father, you told them, both at significant times in

(01:37):
their lives, to be strong.
Lord, you told Joshua, you toldMoses, you told many others
that we got to be strong, we gotto be faithful in the word.
But, father, we thank you forthe beautiful book of Joshua,
chapter one, where you tell himto be strong and courageous.
Father, I ask you today, willyou help myself and the brothers

(01:58):
and sisters across the worldlistening to this prayer and
joining in as we start the day?
Father, help us to be strongand courageous.
Lord, will you help us tobridge the gap, lord, whatever
life is bringing to our door.
Today, father, we pray forstrength, we pray for redemption
, we pray that we will realizethat you are sovereign and you

(02:19):
are king and you are all power, lord, and we bless the most
beautiful name in heaven andearth.
And today, lord, will you helpus to be strong?
Will you help power, lord, andwe bless the most beautiful name
in heaven and earth.
And today, lord, will you helpus to be strong?
Will you help us, lord, to befull of courage?
Will you help us, lord, tostand on the rock of all ages?
Father, we pray today forbreakthrough in school.
We pray for breakthrough inlife.
We pray for breakthrough atwork, in relationships, in

(02:42):
ministry and in church.
But help us to be strong, lord,as we look across the landscape
of life, father, will you helpus, lord, not to look by eyes of
fear, but, lord, to look with aheart that is full of faith.
So today, lord, as we stand, dear God, at the beginning of a
new day, maybe, lord, we're inthe middle or the end of the day

(03:04):
, beginning of a new day.
Maybe, lord, we're in themiddle or the end of the day,
wherever and whatever the clocksays, in our time.
Today, lord, father, will youhelp us to be strong and
courageous?
Will you help us to step out infaith?
Will you help us to lean intothe word of God?
Will you help us, lord, not tosee what we see with our natural
eyes, but, lord, will you giveus the faith to see beyond the

(03:26):
natural ability of the retina ofour eye, of our vision of this
world.
But, lord, help us to see farbeyond, lord, you tell us in the
book of Hebrews, 11, verse 1,.
Now, faith is.
So today, lord, I ask you formyself and brothers and sisters
around the world, lord, as we'rein prayer together, as we pray

(03:47):
together, as we stand togetherthrough this Christian prayer
podcast, today, we stand on therock of all ages.
We believe in the power of theHoly Spirit.
We believe in the gospel oftruth, we believe in the
testament of God.
Father, we believe, fromgenesis to revelation, that your
word is without, ever.

(04:08):
So, lord, help us to live byfaith, to be strong and
courageous, no matter what comesour way.
Father, will you lift us, willyou carry us, will you melt us,
will you mold us?
So for father, today we thankyou that there is power in the
most beautiful name in heavenand earth, and at the name of
jesus, every knee shall bow onthe earth.

(04:31):
Under the earth, through theearth, every tongue confess that
jesus christ is lord and todayis the day of victory.
So, dear god and heavenlyfather, wherever we are across
this world, father, give us thepower and the authority that we
know that we have, but, lord, help us to speak that power and

(04:54):
authority.
Out of our belly shall flowrivers of living water.
Lord, let it rain today.
But, brother and sister, wherever you are, remember, be
strong and courageous.
Be strong and courageous.
Do not let the book of the lawdepart from your mouth.
Wherever you are today, praythe prayer of faith, be strong

(05:15):
and courageous.
