When the Walls Won’t Fall – Praying Through Your Jericho

Joshua 5:13–6 – Daily Christian Prayer Devotion

Have you ever stood before a challenge so overwhelming it felt like Jericho’s fortified walls—untouchable and immovable? In this episode of the Daily Christian Prayer Devotion, we stand together at your personal Jericho, drawing from Joshua 5:13 through 6. This powerful prayer session invites you to lean into God’s promise, to hear the walls fall, and to reclaim what’s already yours.

Biblical Foundation

Joshua approached Jericho unsure how the walls would collapse, but he trusted God’s instruction. That same promise echoes today: if God has spoken it, He will manifest it. Whether your obstacle is a health crisis, financial barrier, broken relationship, or spiritual stronghold, God is inviting you to walk in faith.

Spiritual Discipline: Walk Around Jericho

We explore the practice of faithful persistence—circumambulating your Jericho, declaring God's promises, and standing firm in prayer. This daily discipline positions you for incarnation-level breakthrough.

Internal Strongholds

We also focus on the internal walls—the fear, doubt, and mental strongholds that hold you back. God specializes not only in external victories, but in renewing your mind and demolishing strongholds within.

Global Prayer Movement

Join a global family circling their Jerichos in prayer. Together, we declare masonry falling, leaders shifting, and testimonies rising. Share your breakthrough stories with us and stand with believers worldwide in spiritual solidarity.

Life Application & Reflection

  • Reflect on areas where you feel “blocked”—financial, relational, emotional, or spiritual.
  • Start each day with a prophetic declaration: “God, I hear the walls coming down.”
  • Spend five minutes circling (literally or spiritually), and declare scripture over your challenge.
  • Renew your mind with Joshua 1:9, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Romans 8:31.

Through this daily devotional prayer you will begin to see what faith perceives, rather than what fear projects.

Key Scriptures Referenced

  • Joshua 1:9 – Confidence in God's presence
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – No spirit of fear

(00:57):
Let's pray.
The prayer that we are prayingis coming from the Old Testament
, from the book of Joshua,chapter 5, verse 13.
Jericho was before them, father, in the name of Jesus.
As we look on the platform oflife and as we look across the
plains of life, and as we lookacross the plains of Jericho,

(01:20):
spirit of the Living God, as welook at this fortified city, as
we look at the enemy, dear God,as we see these great walls,
father, we can't go under it, wecan't go over it.
Lord, we can't get around it,we can't get in here without you
.
Spirit of the Living God, willyou help us to be faithful, to

(01:42):
walk around Jericho?
Will you help us to be faithfulto walk around Jericho?
Will you help us to be faithfulas we walk across the plains of
life, the plains of Jericho, aswe see the fortified city being
locked down?
Father, we understand that youlocked that down.
You locked the enemy down forthe Israelites.
So today, lord, as we reflect, dear God, inua, chapter 5, verse

(02:06):
13, and onwards, spirit of theliving god, whatever the jericho
is in our lives, we thank youthat it belongs to us.
And, lord, we walk faithfully,we walk strong, we walk tall.
We trust you in the name ofJesus and Father, as we look
across the plains of life, as welook across the desert of

(02:29):
dryness, we see in the distance, lord, a city, a fortified city,
and we believe in miracles thatour God is able.
Spirit of the living God, willyou break, will you open up,
dear God, these walls?
Will you destroy what the enemymight be doing to our mind, our
thinking, our understanding?

(02:50):
And, lord, we thank you thatwhat lies inside of Jericho
belongs to us.
Father, I thank you.
As we are faithful, we walkaround right now.
We walk around Jerichospiritually.
We walk around the now.
We walk around jerichospiritually.
We walk around the trouble, lord, we walk around the
situation and we are quiet andwe are still in our voice and,

(03:11):
lord, we thank you that there ispower in walking and you told
the israelites to walk.
So, father, we are walking.
We are walking by faith, we aretrusting you, father, we are
exercising our faith and webelieve in miracles.
But today, at this hour, wherever we are, however, we
measure life, whatever lens weuse to measure life, spirit of

(03:35):
the living god, will you fill usto the full measure because,
lord, as we look across theplanes of life, as we walk
forward, we see so much in frontof us and, lord, we will not be
fearful of the size of Jericho.
We hear the sound, dear God, ofwalls falling.
We hear the sound, dear God, ofwalls crumbling.

(03:58):
We hear the sound, dear God, ofmasonry coming down.
We hear the sound of the powerof God.
Father, we thank you that you, dear God, will destroy Jericho.
We thank you, lord, as we arefaithful in little, as we walk,
lord, as we just close our eyesand say today is the day, god.
Today is the day, god, when wewill see Jericho fall.

(04:22):
We will see fortified citiesfall, we will see Goliaths fall.
We will see, dear God, rivers, open seas, be parted in the name
of Jesus.
But as we come to you, lord, asbrothers and sisters of the
word of God, we believe inmiracles.
And wherever we are across theworld, we thank you that Jericho

(04:43):
is in our hands.
Jericho belongs to us.
We thank you that we are notdefeated but we are faithful, we
are steadfast in the gospel oftruth.
And today, lord, wherever mybrothers and sisters are across
the world, lord, I pray that theHoly Spirit will lead them,
that the fire of God will fallon them and the presence of the
word of God will lead them, thatthe fire of God will fall on

(05:04):
them and the presence of theword of God will lift them out
of the ashes of life.
And today they will listen andthey will hear the sound of
walls crumbling.
