(01:01):
that we have together.
We've got 15 minutes, so,without further ado, let's open
up the word of god and we aregoing to the book of psalms 119.
Psalms 119.
If you are able to grabyourself a bible, if you're able
just to take time out just forthese 15 minutes, wherever you

We thank you for everybodythat's supporting us.

My soul.
This is what the scripture saysin verse 28 of psalm 119.
My soul is weary with sorrow.
Oh, that sounds a bit strong, doesn't it?
(01:43):
For this hour, verse 28, psalms119 my soul feels weary with
sorrow.
Strengthen me, according toyour word.
I love that.
I love that scripture.
When you think about thisscripture, psalm 119, verse 28
what a beautiful start to thehour.
My soul is weary with sorrow.
(02:06):
You know, that reminds me ofthe Lord, jesus Christ, when he
was in the Garden of Gethsemane.
It says my mind, my body, mybeing is overwhelmed with sorrow
.
The Bible says that Jesus wasknown as a man of sorrow.
So it's okay to have the sorrow, but what I cannot allow is the
(02:26):
sorrow to have me.
It's okay to have a bad hairday, let's put it like this.
It's okay to find days a littlebit awkward and a little bit
tricky in certain areas of life.
Sorrow is a very interestingword.
So when we look at it throughscripture, jesus had sorrow.
The Bible says that he was aman of sorrow.
But this writer, the writer ofPsalm 119, verse 28,.
(02:50):
David, king David.
When you look at David's life,if you want to study a character
, a great character to study isDavid.
You know a great study, devotional time looking at the
life and the character of David.
What a man and what I mean bythat.
What an unusual character hewas.
He experienced every scenariounder sun.
(03:12):
He went for every situationunder the sun, but God never
left him.
God strengthened him, godchallenged him, god stripped him
back, but David came through.
So whatever is going on in yourlife at this moment in time,
you will come through.
Maybe this morning, maybe thisafternoon, maybe this evening or
whenever.
You're listening to thisdevotional podcast, maybe you
(03:36):
feel very sorrowful at themoment and it says my soul is
weary.
That's a lovely word, isn't it?
God, dear Lord, that's a lovelyword, isn't it?
God, dear lord, that's apowerful word.
Weary lord.
I often feel weary when Ianalyze this time, this text.
You know, and the times I'mfeeling weary.
At this moment in time, I'mfeeling run down.
I'm feeling that maybe a littlebit exhausted.
(03:58):
Are we spinning too many platesin the room of life?
Have we got too many thingsgoing on?
Have you had a busy day?
Has it been a church day?
Is it a work day?
Is it the evening?
Is it the morning, is it themidday?
What is the hour where you are?
How are you feeling at thistime?
Now, these scriptures give me alittle bit of a spiritual boost.
(04:18):
To be fair, to be honest withyou, because you know the church
the church in the West, thechurch in the west, the church
in the uk especially doesn'tdeal with the the nuts and the
bolts of real life situations.
It doesn't deal with sorrow, itdoesn't deal with fear, it
doesn't deal with anguish andworry and uncertainty.
(04:39):
It seems to dress things up andit wants to make everything
okay by not dealing with thesituation.
But I want to tell you now, ifyou feel sorry for, if you feel
doubtful, if you're feelingweary and tired, the Lord is
with you.
You've only got to look at thegreat story of Jesus Christ in
the Garden of Gethsemane.
He says my soul is overwhelmedwith sorrow.
(05:00):
Jesus, this is Jesus.
We're talking about Jesus.
You know who I'm talking about.
We're talking about the King ofKings and the Lord of Lords.
And he was in the garden ofGethsemane.
He said to the father if it ispossible, take this cup from me.
You know, jesus wanted toswerve it.
I call it the 50-50 garden.
He wanted to swerve that.
(05:21):
So in this devotional time thismorning, as we're going to come
to some prayer right now.
Let's pray that, if we arefeeling weary and we are bogged
down with sorrow, that the Lordwill strengthen us according to
his word.
Father, we come to you on thisday, lord, on this hour, this
moment, wherever we are acrossthis world, and, father, we pray
(05:41):
that the fire of God and thelove of the Holy Spirit and your
presence will strengthen us.
Lord, will your word?
Yes, your word will yes, yourpower will yes, your love will.
Father, we ask you right now, wherever we are across this
world, that you will strengthenus and encourage us and your
word will lead us by your spirit, by your spirit, lord.
(06:04):
So today, lord, in this prayertime, lord, I come to you as a
Bible-believing believer, lord, and I ask you, father, that you
will strengthen each and everyone of us, that the love of God
will take away the sorrowfulfeeling, the weary feeling, the
doubtful feeling, the fury ofuncertainty.
Lord, there are many theories, you know there are many theories
(06:25):
out there, and tonight, today, this hour, wherever you are, I
pray that the Lord willstrengthen you and the Holy
Spirit will lead you and the Godof Israel.
Through this prayer time, holySpirit, will you strengthen us,
lord, will you bring us to aplace of freedom, because I want
to be away, lord, from feelingweary.
(06:45):
I want to find a place where Ican stand strong on the gospel
of hope.
Lord, I'm tired because work iswearing me down, life is
wearing me down.
Fear, lord, the lack of Father.
Will you help me to deal withthe lack of the thought, the
anxiety, the worry, theuncertainty?
Lord, I know what the Biblesays, but through this prayer
(07:07):
time, will you help me to liveby faith Because, lord, I don't
want to feel sorrowful, I don'twant my soul to be overwhelmed.
Lord, I need you to strengthenme according to your word.
So, lord, through this prayertime, strengthen me according to
your word, carry me accordingto your word, carry me according
to your word.
Father, let your love just bewrapped around my brothers and
(07:28):
sisters across the world today, that they will feel the love of
God, the Holy Spirit, the powerof God in their lives.
That they will feel therefreshing wind of the Holy
Spirit just against them rightnow, encouraging them, driving
them, healing them, releasingthem.
Spirit of the living God, willyou make a way where there is no
(07:49):
way, your word to strengthen us, your word to guide us, your
word to heal us, your word totake us to new pastures, new
beginnings.
Lord, as we pray together rightnow, across the world, maybe at
the beginning of the the world, maybe at the beginning of the
day, maybe at the middle of theday, at the end of the day,
wherever we are now in the timezone of life, will you, lord,
(08:12):
god, strengthen us according toyour word, because each and
every one of us needsstrengthening, each and every
one of us needs a freshinfilling, each and every one of
us needs your anointing, eachand every one of us needs the
leadingointing, each and everyone of us needs the leading of
the Holy Spirit.
So, lord, will you come today, lord, and strengthen us, meet us
where we are.
Lord, our practical needs areneeding to be met.
(08:34):
So, lord, you tell us that yousupply all our needs according
to thy riches and glory.
And, lord, we need you to meetthese needs.
We need you, father, to meetthese needs.
Lord, and as we come to you, lord, father, we thank you that
there is power.
In the name of Jesus, lord, andas we rest in the arms of
Christ, lord, as we trust you,as we lean into you, father, we
(08:56):
thank you that the love of Godis over each and every one of us
.
And, father, we are blessed andhighly favoured, wonderfully
and fearfully made.
And today, lord, let the loveof God strengthen us, let your
power enrich our lives.
Today, lord, wrap your armsaround my brothers and sisters,
wrap your love around them, wrapus up.
(09:17):
Today, lord, because there aremany of us that are weary and
we're frightened to talk aboutfeeling weary in the church,
because, lord, we're frightenedof what people might say,
because, lord, we seem to begiven this understanding that
we've got to be super humanbeings, super duper Christians.
But, lord, I just feel wearyand, lord, I just want to rest.
(09:41):
So, so, lord, all those thatneed rest today, all those that
need guidance today, I thank you, lord, that you're guiding them
, you're strengthening them, lord, that your love is over
them.
Lord, you tell us come to me,all of you that are weary and
heavily laden, and I will giveyou rest.
Jesus will give you rest.
(10:01):
Do you need rest today?
Wherever you are across thisworld, the love of the Father
will give you rest.
So, through this prayer time, Ipray for the Bible-believing,
spirit-filled, blessed andhighly favoured believers on
this Christian devotionalpodcast that they will feel the
presence of God's rest.
I want to feel your rest today.
(10:23):
I want to be strengthened in myinnermost being.
I want your word to take fullcontrol of my life, in the name
of Jesus.
I want, dear God, to feel theHoly Spirit, lord, burning in my
stomach.
I want, dear God, your word tocome out like rivers of living
water.
Lord, I need to be strengthened.
My bones are aching, my body isweary and I need your word to
(10:49):
strengthen me because, lord,I've tried everything else, I've
looked at everything else andI'm sorry, lord, I put your word
aside.
So, father, bless us today, wherever we are.
Lord, we thank you that you aremeeting us today, lord, that
you are meeting us today, lord, you're meeting our needs
according to thy riches in glory.
(11:10):
So, father, strengthen us,carry us, let there be healing
over our lives, father, and letus feel your power, let us feel
your anointing, let us feel yourlove, your mercy, your saving
grace, lord, spirit of theliving God.
I come to you, lord, and Ioffer myself to you at this hour
and I say, jesus, strengthen us, carry us, melt us, mold us,
(11:34):
lift us, but strengthen us bythe living word.
Amen.
May god bless his word.
You know, wherever you are, let's read this scripture again
psalm 119, verse 28 my soul isweary with sorrow.
Strengthen me, according toyour word.
(11:56):
Isn't that a beautifulscripture to start this hour, to
start this moment, to startthis day.
Wherever you are, to think thatthe word of the Lord is going
to strengthen you, let's call onthe name of Jesus today.
Let's be really faithful in ourwords, let's really speak power
over our lives, whatever it maybe that's needed and required
(12:16):
in your life.
I pray that the fire of Godwill give you the faith and
increase your faith, and, formyself too, that we will speak
words of faith, words of wisdomover our lives.
The word of God will strengthenyou because the word of God
tells you that he willstrengthen you.
The word of God has tostrengthen you because he has
(12:38):
said he will strengthen you.
So how do we get the word of Godto strengthen us?
We say very simply Lord, I needyour word to strengthen me
today.
I need your word to carry me.
I need your word to lift me.
I need your word, lord, to bewrapped around me.
I need your word, father, toset me free.
So, holy Spirit, wherever we are, let your word be like living
(13:01):
water.
Let your word, father, refreshour souls today.
Let your word refresh ourspirit today.
Let your word, lord, lift usand elevate us and carry us and
anoint us.
Let your word, father, speakdirectly deep into our spirit.
Lord, Come, lord, you areworthy of all praise and we lift
(13:23):
up in the name of Jesus.
But, lord, I need you in my life.
Do you need Jesus today?
Do you need the living word tostrengthen you?
Do you need the power of theHoly Spirit?
Let's be braggadocious, let'sbe bold, let's be strong.
Let's stand on the scripturetoday and say yes, lord, your
(13:44):
word is going to strengthen me.
I'm not going to be of sorrow,I'm not going to be of doubt,
lord, I'm going to change mythinking, I'm going to change my
vocabulary, lord.
I'm going to speak words offaith, lord, because I don't
want, lord, negative words tobring me down.
I don't want negative words tohold me back.
I want to speak words of faithin the name of Jesus.
(14:07):
So I come to you today, lord, and I say yes, lord, by your
power, by your word, by yourstrength, by your anointing Lord
, through this unshakable dailyChristian devotional podcast.
You're changing me, lord, notbecause of Pastor Ben, not
because of Reverend Ben, notbecause of Ben, but because of
(14:30):
God.
Your word is going tostrengthen me, so strengthen all
of us today, wherever we arescattered across this world.
Father, we need you and we'recalling on the greatest name in
heaven and earth.
So, wherever you are today, let's take stock of the
scripture.
Let's read it one more time.
The Bible says in Psalm 119,verse 28, my soul is weary with
(14:55):
sorrow.
Strengthen me, according to thyword.
The word is with you.
The word of God is inside ofyou.
Greater is he that is in methan he that is in the world.
