The Wanderer is an Old English poem preserved only in an anthology, known as the Exeter Book. The speaker describes someone who lost everything that meant something to him, and had to start all over again.

"But this world - every day falls to dust. No man is wise until he lives many

winters in the kingdom of the world." - The Wanderer
