📖 Genesis 35 – A Chapter of Renewal and Legacy
Jacob returns to Bethel in obedience to God, calling his household to put away foreign gods and purify themselves. At Bethel, he builds an altar and God reaffirms His covenant, renaming Jacob as Israel and promising nations and kings through his lineage. The chapter also marks moments of sorrow and transition: the death of Deborah, Rachel’s passing during Benjamin’s birth, and the eventual death of Isaac. Despite grief and family tensions, God’s promises continue to unfold, anchoring Jacob’s journey in divine faithfulness.
