Spurgeon warns people not to brag about or depend too much on tomorrow because no one knows if they'll even be alive the next day, and making big plans for the future often causes people to waste the present time they actually have. He especially urges people not to put off repenting of their sins and turning to God, since waiting until tomorrow to get right with God is foolish—tomorrow might never come, or it might be too late. However, Christians can look forward to tomorrow with hope and joy rather than fear, knowing that God controls the future and each new day brings them closer to heaven, though they should still make wise preparations in the present without being anxious about what's ahead.

A sermon delivered by Charles Spurgeon on August 25, 1856.
