This week on the Dallas Famous Podcast, we feature Kena Sosa, an award-winning children's author, filmmaker, school librarian, and drummer. She is a performing member of Goisagi, a Fort Worth-based taiko ensemble known for its original compositions and dynamic performances. The group released its first EP, Alight, in April 2022 and performed at SXSW the same year.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Kena has collaborated with musician Ladi and just released their third piece, Odyssey. As a school librarian, she fosters a love for reading among students, balancing her work in literature, education, and music.
From the written word to the beat of the drum, Kena’s work bridges storytelling, education, and music, making for a fascinating journey. This was a great talk, and I know you’ll enjoy it.
