In 1789, President George Washington issued a proclamation establishing the first national day of thanksgiving and prayer. Here in 2025, as this episode is being released, Thanksgiving in the United States is just around the corner again. It marks the beginning of the holiday season, and offers an occasion when family and friends gather in common places to celebrate and give thanks.
