Daring Creatively is a podcast for artists and creative souls navigating the messy, magical, and very real journey of making art. Hosted by contemporary Australian artist Korynn Morrison, each episode offers an honest, behind-the-scenes look at life inside a working studio — from commissions and creative blocks to rituals, self-doubt, and those strange sparks of inspiration that show up when you least expect them. This is a space for curious minds and imperfect makers — where creativity is process over polish, and perfectionism gets shown the door. If you’re carving your own creative path and want to feel a little less alone in it all, you’re in the right place.
In this episode of Daring Creatively, we’re wandering through the wild garden of creativity — exploring the natural cycles that every artist moves through.
Creativity isn’t a straight line; it’s a series of seasons. There are times for planting ideas, riding the manic momentum of making, celebrating what you’ve grown, and then resting so the next spark can form. I’ll share how learning to recognise these rhythms in my ...
This one was recorded straight from the car, after being thrown into the deep end — quite literally. My husband roped me into helping install a signage job for his company, and I found myself battling a full-blown case of imposter syndrome.
Somewhere between the maths, the vinyl and the panic, I realised… this is exactly how artists feel when they’re just starting out. Awkward. Unsure. Terrified of stuffing it up — but...
Every creative journey is shaped not only by the big breakthroughs, but by the small, everyday choices we make. In this vulnerable and motivational episode of Daring Creatively, artist Korynn Morrison asks: What are you declaring for your future creative self?
We’ll explore how seemingly small decisions can create a butterfly effect that changes the course of your art and your life. Through raw storytelling and heartfe...

Where does it come from, outside of us or from within?
What conditions are necessary for it to strike?
When it happens, how do we keep it flowing?

Inspiration floats around us energetically, waiting for us to realign with a beginner's mindset. At this point, creative flow is as simple as plucking fun out of thin air. This week has led me down a path of creative déjà vu, remembering what I once knew but somehow forgot. This social media-free life I’ve come to respect has allowed me the space to listen to all the studio behaviors that truly FEEL GOOD.
What kind of work would you produce if NOBODY was watching?
Cheers to life without social media...

As the excitement builds for my debut solo exhibition at Curatorial + Co., I've intentionally distanced myself from my paintings in the weeks leading up to the opening. In this week's episode, I reflect on one painting in particular, "Hand Me Another Cup To Fill," and the vulnerable lesson it taught me.

When was the last time you truly said “WOW.”
In the lead up to my solo exhibition at Curatorial + Co I have come to realise that the undercurrent to this entire show has been a reclamation of inner joy. The overflowing part of self that gets corked and pushed down for other peoples comfort.

Welcome back for the first episode of 2024!
Time is ticking and deadlines are looming in the lead up to my Sydney Solo Exhibition at Curatorial + Co.
Let’s talk about what happens when exhibition overwhelm takes over…
This week, self doubt creeped its way into the studio and shadowed my every move. Luckily I had an intuitive nudge that encouraged me to shift my thinking.

This week in the studio I came to the conclusion that sometimes the obvious choice is not always the best. Materials often dictate the direction and pace at which our work unfolds. This conversation is about taking big risks in service of the greater mission.
Join me throughout the process as I produce the work for my upcoming Solo Exhibition “Echo: An invitation to sit with self.”

Are you focused on the goal, or are you focused on the work?
As an artist striving to climb the ladder of the creative industry, we can often loose sight of the work whilst being swept up in the chase for our next big goal. In fast forward, with no pauses or full stops. We replace each feeling of momentum with another mountain to climb. Constantly putting our satisfaction over there, perched way above our cu...

Beckoning us to stray from the beaten path, this painting explores the hikers' perspective through untrodden trails.Embracing this new outlook, we find ourselves both lost and found, immersed in the beauty of wandering and the joy of returning to our truest selves. Following the tracks of unknown animals, I am constantly reminded that some paths lead to water, whilst others are a dead end. Either way b...

In many ways this painting has felt like a channelled message from my grandmother Norah. I find myself immersed in the cherished memories of her flora and fauna reports, the tender act of scrapbooking old christmas cards, and the joy of preserving nature's beauty by pressing flowers and leaves between the pages of books. I recall jars filled with buttons and a magical rock that seemed to summon rain. T...

A new realisation has emerged as I bring my new collection of paintings to completion:
I am not showing up in the studio to get something done. I am showing up to find a place for being within the work.
This episode is an introduction to my new collection of Playscapes, and an honest reflection on the past few months. Each painting has become a lesson in becoming more present within the creative process.

Killing the painting is a necessary part of the process…
In this week’s episode I explain why pushing a painting too far and giving ourselves permission to sit with the ugly side, allows us to build life and substance into the finished work.

When we break free of our own creative box an inevitable shift occurs within our work. We then need to build up the courage to let this shift take on a life of its own. With a brand new collection of work underway for Curatorial + Co , this last couple of weeks has reminded me that a single brush-...
