I'm back, not just to apologize, but to take you along this path of enhanced self-awareness.

This new year, I'm thrilled to announce a lineup of discussions designed to liberate us from the unhealthy cycles that hold us back. A special series dedicated to men and masculinity will also be featured, where we'll explore the complexities of male psychology and patterns that define—and sometimes confine—their lives. Join me in this new year as we continue to foster wellness within.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hello, all this is Dr Shimina of the podcast Dark
Matters.
I know it's been a while sinceI've recorded an episode, but I
just want to say first andforemost that I owe you all an
apology.
I really did take a much neededbreak from this relationship of

(00:28):
podcasting and I realized that, instead of communicating that
to you all, I just sort ofghosted, and for that I am truly
sorry, and I know this soundspretty cliche.
It's not you, it's me, but inthe last several months I have

(00:49):
shifted a lot of my focus andenergy towards writing my book,
so stay tuned for that, which Ibelieve and I hope I'll be
finished next year.
And, of course, I'm continuingto be a student in this field of
psychology, while alsodeepening my work seeing my

(01:09):
clients in my private practice.
When I first started with thispodcast, it was at the height of
the pandemic in 2020.
And my main focus was, andstill is, to educate and help
you all become morepsychologically robust, become

(01:30):
self-aware in your waking life.
Me, like most of you, I think, have become exhausted with work,
life and the challenges anddemands that are happening in
this world.
I mean, some of you may even betoo overwhelmed to even slow
down.
But what I'm aware of in myhaving my break is that I'm

(01:53):
clear that we all need to learnhow to slow down so that we can
figure out where we have choice, agency and power to make
changes in our lives thatbenefit you.
So I chose in the last severalmonths to do less, to slow down
and take time to reflect on mylife.

(02:15):
You know there will always beunpredictable circumstances that
arise, but the path forwarddoesn't always have to be a
struggle where you're feelinglike you have to do more to keep
up.
So, with that being said, in mytime of slowing down, I've
thought about it and reflectedthat I'll be putting together,

(02:38):
in a new year, a series ofpodcasts focusing on learning
how to break through unhealthycycles, and also I will do a
series focusing on men andmasculinity, understanding
healthy and unhealthy patternsof men and also just the
psychology of men, which I hopeyou'll tune into.

(02:58):
So I look forward to connectingwith you all in the new year.
Stay tuned and I wish you ahappy new year with a lot of
love from Dr Shamena.
Take care and be well.
