In 2024, Jabari Jefferson won a Capital Emmy Award for his work on PBS’s Water’s Edge: Black Watermen of the Chesapeake. Building on this recognition, he also served as 1st Assistant Camera for the upcoming PBS documentary Becoming Thurgood, which is slated to premiere on September 9, 2025. Just two days later, on September 11, 2025, Jabari will premiere his proof-of-concept pilot, Metro Ties, at Metrobar in Washington, D.C. Metro Ties blends narrative storytelling with sketch comedy, spotlighting local talent and amplifying authentic D.C. voices. The premiere will double as a community event while also positioning the project for festival submissions and distribution opportunities.
