Accountability. Every single individual born into this world will face their own judgement day. For each of us are born for a greater purpose. And it is up to us individually to discover that exact purpose. We will one day be forced to revisit our lives, past, present, future, and face accountability for the life we were given, for the life we had chosen to live. Each and every life will in fact, come face to face with our Lord, our creator, explaining in great detail why or why didn't we live better lives, holier lives, properly using the time, that the Lord our God, had given freely to his creation, to build up, and not to tear down humanity... We need to be prepared for that final day of judgement. For the questions, for the examinations of our very own consciences, that will be discussed in great length with our Lord. Our good deeds will count for everything in Christ. Our shortcomings, regrets, poorest of all choices, inactions, all will be, revisited, dissected, in the company of our Lord. All will be revealed on judgement day. Each one of us, man and woman, will be asked by God himself to explain every wrongful act, every tragedy kicked off by the wrong words being said, and equally the wrong actions that have followed, that have wounded and interiorly destroyed the heart, mind, body, and soul of another. There will be an accountability. How do we prepare ourselves today for that personal day of judgement we will all face with our God? We can begin today by choosing to live everyday in Christ. In his holy presence. We begin with a desire to enter into his silence in holy adoration, we begin with entering into the catholic church and emptying our soul completely in truth to our King. We begin with giving our lives completely and utterly to Christ, so that He can fill our hearts and minds with his love and wisdom. We have to accept we are nothing! And that Christ is everything! To be in Christ is to die completely to the desires of the self, and to abandon the worldly ways and enter into heavenly ways of living. We begin again and again with fasting, with praying, with emptying our vessel, so that Christ can fill it as he wishes. When we get to that place, of discomfort, of making Christ increase, and making ourselves decrease, we are well on our way in living an obedient life in exchange of worldly desires. Our ancestors focused on heaven. They abided by the rules of the law pertaining to eternal life. We too must do the same. And when we begin again, but only this time, we begin again in Christ Jesus, we are on the path toward our eternal destiny. We will see the face of God and live. Not like before, but better. Wiser, holier, obedient, because we want to be our best in front of Christ who always sees us at our best and at our worst. We should at least be trying really really hard to be better people, to make our Lord proud of his own. I know in life we zig and we zag, but we do not have to return to Christ deficient. We can reverse our perverse sinful nature, and ask pardon for our sins, never to be repeated again! We can, we should, and we will!
You and I are in Christ. In his love, in his presence, we are living branches of the tree of life, bearing fruit, fruit that will last. We are eternal beings that will never die, we will live on forever in Christ Jesus.
