🎙️ EP#382 | DSD | Gavin Newsom, Cory Booker, Tucker, TikTok, Building 7 & Women on the Moon

What starts as a behind-the-scenes peek into how this podcast gets made quickly pivots into a firestorm of political commentary and media critique. In this episode, the DSD host gets transparent about production workflows, title and cover art creation, and even how ChatGPT helps shape each drop. But don’t get too comfortable—because things heat up fast as the conversation dives into the murky waters of political hypocrisy, media ownership, and digital censorship.

The spotlight then turns to APAC and the tangled relationship between American politicians and pro-Israel lobbying. From Gavin Newsom’s bizarre “interesting” interview to Cory Booker’s evasions, and Jeff Duncan’s moral gymnastics, this episode breaks down how media-savvy hosts are holding political feet to the fire. Shoutout to the "I've Had It" podcast for leading some of these hard-hitting conversations—this one is for listeners who crave accountability.

Rounding out the episode is a stark warning about the power of media manipulation. With TikTok’s future potentially being reshaped by Oracle’s acquisition and the Ellison dynasty expanding control over CBS and Paramount, what does this mean for narrative control, especially around Gaza and Israel? Add a dash of 9/11 conspiracy, a jab at Building 7, and a savage "First Woman on the Moon" sketch, and you’ve got one of the most blistering, multi-layered episodes yet. Buckle up.

(00:01):
Free audio post production by alphonic.com.
The following. Podcast is a deep shallow dive
production and you're going to. Love it.
OK, let's go. Hey, what's up, everybody?
Happy Friday. Hey, sorry again for getting
this out. A little bit later I had
somebody ask me, they're like, why do you sometimes get things

(00:23):
out a little bit later? And I said, well, you know, for
example, today being Friday, October 17th, and this is
getting released at like, I don't know, maybe 9:00 AM
Pacific Standard Time. So like 12 noon Eastern Time,
that's maybe 9:00 PM in Belgium.I, I'm huge in Belgium.

(00:45):
By the way, I, I'm the number 6th ranked podcast in the
country of Belgium. Isn't that crazy?
That's wow. Yeah.
I'm going to have to take a tripto Belgium sometime.
Anyway, the reason being is obviously you would have to do
this and record it and edit it and get it everything done the
day before, which would have been yesterday, Thursday.

(01:06):
And I just did not get the time. And then somebody else asked me,
they're like, you know, how longdoes all this, all this take?
So thought I'd share that with you.
So let's say we do a 30 minute episode today, that 30 minute
episode, which by the way, Oh myGod, I'm still I'm still doing
these audio only. I just can't get myself to
commit the time to do in the video yet.

(01:28):
But that 30 minute episode to record probably only takes me
about maybe 40 minutes, you know, 45 minutes to record,
maybe even less. Because pretty much I have a
list of things that I've either saved on my phone or sometimes I
create an iPhone note in my phone from the day before.

(01:51):
A lot of times while I'm on the treadmill, I will think through
what I want to talk about and then make notes of that.
And so the actual recording process, obviously if I'm
talking for a total of 30 minutes, you know, that might
really only take 3540 minutes. That's pretty efficient.
And then from there, you know you have to render the audio

(02:13):
file. I do use that Alphonic software
who you hear at the beginning ofthe podcast as one of the
sponsors. I use their system to adjust all
the sound levels. So all the engineering gets done
through their software at alphonic.com.
They're actually really great. I mean, incredible company and

(02:33):
more importantly incredible software.
It really does a nice job of leveling out the highs and lows.
If I did not use that software, not that it would sound terrible
because I do use a good microphone and obviously you
don't have all the levels adjusted properly.
But what happens is that there might be highs and lows.
So especially if you're listening through air pods or

(02:56):
some type of headset, you know, all all of the sudden, and a lot
of times this is more, this is more with the clips I play
versus necessarily me talking. But if that clip had a super
high level audio, you know, thatmight all of a sudden blare in
your ear. Whereas with all phonic, it
really does kind of stabilize everything so that all phonic

(03:17):
software on a 30 minute file, 30minute audio file, you know,
sometimes that could take maybe 4 or 5 minutes to do its thing.
And then it delivers me a wave of file or an MP3 file and then
I download that. And then from there, you know, I

(03:37):
have to upload it to the Spotifyfor Creators platform, which is
whom I use as a hosting agent. Actually, this is funny.
This is turning into a little podcast one O 1.
But you know what, I have had a few people recently asked me
about it. So maybe this is interesting.
So anyway, from there I upload that downloaded wave file, so a

(03:57):
dot WAV file because that's likethe highest quality in terms of
the sound. So I upload that to Spotify for
Creators and then I have to build out, you know, the
episode. And really, that involves a
title, a description, and then also an image.

(04:19):
Cover art. They call it cover art.
So with my episodes, you know, for those of you that listen in
the car or somewhere, chances are, and if you're listening
through your Apple car play or any system like that, you know
that cover art for each of my episodes should come up on your
screen. And in that cover art, I try to

(04:41):
list the top seven things that Italked about in each episode.
Now, a lot of people don't even adjust the cover art.
And then a lot of people, like with Joe Rogan, his cover art is
pretty simple. It'll be like episode #2927 and
it's just an image of who his guest is.
But with my cover art, I do listout the things that I talked

(05:03):
about in the episode. And so basically, yeah, I have
to build out the episode title, the episode description, and
then the cover art. And then last thing on that is I
use ChatGPT in order to create the episode description and even
give me the title. And then for the cover art, I

(05:24):
build that in Canva. So there you go.
And then I hit publish. And remember when you publish a
podcast through whatever hostingplatform you're using, again, in
my case, it's Spotify for creators.
That platform creates an RSS feed, which is basically just
like a URL that's specific with all of the data of your episode

(05:50):
as well as your entire podcast. And then that RSS feed is
basically is basically attached to all the other platforms.
So when I upload this in my hostSpotify for creators, I do not
have to upload it into Apple Podcast, I heart Pandora,

(06:12):
YouTube Music, all that. All of those connections have
already been set up. And so it does it automatically.
So again, all I do is upload oneplace and then it it basically
delivers that everywhere. So anyway, there you go.
There's a little podcast one O 1.
All right, let's get into some clips.
I want to play some things that are interesting.
The first one is Gavin Newsom. This was a man a really odd

(06:34):
interview that he did on I don'teven know what podcast it was,
but the question came up about AIPAC.
And again, AIPAC is kind of all over the news and that is the
American Israeli, what's the Pakstand for?
Hold on the American Israel, theAmerican Israel Public Affairs

(06:55):
Committee and again, that's the pro Israel lobbying organization
of the United States. So, you know, they definitely
are in the news quite a bit these days.
So Gavin gets asked about that and listen to his answer.
It's pretty interesting. Interesting.
You're like the first to bring up AIPAC in yours, which is
interesting. I will not vote for a candidate

(07:18):
that takes $1.00 from APEC. It's interested.
I mean it's interesting. I haven't thought about APEC and
it's interesting you're like thefirst to bring up APEC in yours,
which is interesting. Why did I say that not not
relevant to the my day-to-day life, OK, which is just
interesting. Listen, it's interesting you say
that JPAC perhaps more but APEC less and less.

(07:40):
OK, fair enough. Which is just interesting.
What's interesting about it thatit's just interesting as you
bring up APEC that it hasn't been part of I I'm just
reflecting quite openly and honestly hasn't been part of the
day-to-day. The only reason, the only reason
why I ask is because with that, what I'm talking about is

(08:01):
lobbying in and of itself. I mean, how hilarious is that?
The dude said. Interesting.
Like I, I think I counted 8 times or nine times in the
course of that one minute. It's interesting.
And it's interesting. You're like the first to bring
up APEC in yours, which is interesting.
Which is interesting. All right, that was weird.

(08:25):
Somebody that Kim Iverson gal that I played on the podcast the
other day, she's like Gavin Newsom strokes out and uses the
word interesting 27 times in oneminute.
So anyway, that was interesting. That was interesting.
All right, let's see what else? Oh, you know what, let's stick
on this theme for a minute. There's a gal named Jennifer
Welch and I think her podcast iscalled What is her podcast

(08:48):
called? Great title.
It's called I've had it podcast and so give a listen.
So here's Cory Booker the the Democratic senator.
I guess today we'll pick on Democrats.
We've been picking on Republicans in the Trump
administration quite a bit recently, but today let's pick
on Democrats. So, OK, so here's her having

(09:09):
Cory Booker on. And again, man it, I love that
people are calling these politicians out now, honestly.
And you've got to call both sides out.
The more everybody can call bothsides out, honestly, I think we
can get closer to, you know, a level of transparency that needs
to happen in in this world really and especially in the

(09:32):
United States. So let's give a listen to this
interview with Cory Booker and she brings up a pack again and
and a lot of other things. So give it a listen.
I'm one of a handful of people that don't take corporate PAC
money. What about APEC money?
You take APEC money, don't you? A.
Miniscule percentage of my resources company.
I've read it's like 800,000. Yeah, but that's a lifetime

(09:52):
number. When you do your 25 hour speech,
I was like, go Corey, I love this.
That is amazing. And then there's a photo shoot
with you with Benjamin Netanyahu.
And I was just like, what in theactual, like, how can he do
that? It was heartbreaking.
It I felt betrayed. I felt like it diminished your
25 hours. That's how it felt to me.

(10:14):
Cory Booker is another guy that's just a pure politician.
And honestly, he does not reallycare about the people.
I've, I've said this before and I'm going to say it again.
Guys like Cory Booker are no different than Ted Cruz and
Lindsey Graham. And they are the quintessential
uniparty guys. And they just wear, you know, a

(10:35):
different, a different outer, outer shell.
But if you get to their core shell, they're they're the same
person. Cory Booker is Ted Cruz.
They just yell about different things.
So in this she's asking them. She's like, why did you take a
picture with Benjamin Netanyahu?Isn't he a war criminal?
And then let's I think she asks him and and just listen to how

(10:56):
he deflects you. Think he's a war criminal,
Benjamin Netanyahu? Do you think he's a war
criminal? I I.
Again, these are these are questions that a lot of people
think are the important litmus tests that are loaded and hot.
My urgency is to be an effectiveleader in bringing an end to
this crisis, and I get these questions all the time that, to
me, undermine my urgency. I think the thing that Democrats

(11:20):
get so frustrated with where we are right now, where you see
like the Zoran Mandani's and theGrand Platner's rise up because
you we can't. They can go on podcast and you
can say, do you think Benjamin Netanyahu's a war criminal?
And they just say yes. And that's the end of it.
It's not all of the rhetoric answering.
It's like what happens to Democratic politicians.
They go through this like prism and then we can't ever get like

(11:41):
the answer to yes or no conversations.
Bye. OK, here's my my thing.
OK, They just cannot criticize Israel it there's really
something to that. I mean, it's just, it's kind of
wild when you when you're in it.So that Lady, Jennifer Welch,
along with another gal, what is her name?

(12:01):
Angie Sullivan. So again, they've, they have
this podcast, I've had it podcast and they're both
Democrats and or liberals for sure.
And so, you know, I do applaud them for bringing someone like
Cory Booker on and, and really pushing him, you know, really
pushing him to answer the tough questions.
And, you know, we need more of that.

(12:22):
We're absolutely need more of that.
So anyway, I thought that was a good take.
Another another APEC thing. So there you go.
There you go. All the people that have been
busting my chop saying that I'vebeen really hard on Republicans
lately. Well, there you have it.
There's two Democrats, Gavin Newsom and Cory Booker.
OK, let's see what else I want to talk about.
You know what, I am going to give Jennifer Welch a Daily

(12:45):
Double today. So here's another interview she
did with a guy named Jeff Duncan.
And I think he's running for governor or maybe is a governor.
I don't even know. I've never heard of this guy.
But give a listen here. She kind of reads him the riot
act or actually not even reads him the riot act, but holds him
accountable. So listen to Jennifer Welch

(13:06):
interviewing Jeff Duncan. Will you take APEC money or have
you taken APEC money? I'm not certain if I've taken it
or not. I've run, I've been in office 10
years. It doesn't jump out at me as I'm
taking it, but I think the most important.
Part will you for this race. I wish you could see the video
because it's even better. This guy's so full of shit.

(13:28):
I have no idea. I haven't even thought about it.
OK, come on, Jeff. This is like there's a genocide
going on right now. And I mean in even human rights,
Israeli human rights groups see this, that the United States of
America is. Funding.
To see, to see these kids starving.
And to not know if you're going to be beholden to the Israeli
lobby is is to me is not something that should take time

(13:50):
to think about. Because you started off this
interview with us talking about your faith.
Will you take APEC money in thisin this race?
I have no idea. I haven't even thought about it.
Wow. OK.
I want to take that moral clarity that you have right
there and then ask you again, are you going to take money from
APAC? Because just there you talked

(14:11):
about an AIPAC is what helped. They gave Trump over I think
200, three, $100 million. Are you going to take money from
a group that lobbies to deny that that's happening to those
children? I'm not going to give you the
shallow answer of saying yes or no because.
You can have moral clarity to talk about the starvation, the
famine and the genocide. Then it's a very easy jump to

(14:34):
then just say across the board, you wouldn't believe how popular
you'd be, Jeff. You just wouldn't believe how
popular it would be if you said I am not taking money from APAC.
We'll. Certainly.
Continue to look at it, but look.
I hope that you do, Jeff. I wish you the best of luck.
I hope that you can report back to us sometime soon that you've
thought about these APEC donations and that you will not

(14:55):
accept them and partner with them in this because I think
that you will have so much more credibility.
And how uncomfortable did I makeyou?
I was kind of all in. I wish that people would have
more rigorously, you know, done this with, with our politicians
and called him out more directly.
I mean, I just, I think this is I'm teeing him up for what's

(15:16):
about to happen. She's really great.
I thought that was really great. And honestly, I thought that was
totally fair. Everything she said.
And you know, obviously the way he backtracks so much, you know,
he knows the answers to that andhe's absolutely going to
continue to take APEC money and he's taking it.
So anyway, I'll have to look that up and and see see if

(15:38):
anything came of that. OK, let's see.
What else do we want to talk about?
Well, you know what? I won't want to.
I want to play you guys this clip.
This kind of talks about a little bit of what Brandon and I
talked about on the episode fromWednesday.
Man, I was oh God, it's so hard to pronounce that guy's last

(15:58):
name. Man, there's just too many
vowels in that last name. I can't even pronounce it
anyway, my man Brandon in the episode on Wednesday that was
really a fun conversation and touched on a lot of different
things. If you didn't get a chance to
listen, maybe give it a listen over the weekend.
But we talked about TikTok and it being, you know, really the
the tool that that opened up Pandora's box with everything

(16:22):
and it was because of Gaza. But then that led to JFK 911, so
many things, the USS Liberty. So listen to this.
And again, I mean, I think TikTok is is going to get
neutralized. I really do, at least to that
kind of content, the content that maybe a certain group
doesn't want to have out there. I think now if the acquisition

(16:45):
goes through, which I'm pretty sure it is going through with
the group headed up by Larry Ellison and then moving it to
Oracle, I think it is going to be neutralized with, with kind
of, you know, really it, it comes down to anti Israeli
content. That's what they're trying to
censor. So give this a listen.
TikTok has been one of the most important disseminators of

(17:08):
essentially the pro Palestinian perspective in the United
States. There are plausible arguments to
be made that TikTok has driven the the major opinion
realignment among younger Americans who are the ones most
likely to use it. And so I certainly understand
why Netanyahu and his supportersin the United States might see
this as an opportunity, opportunity to change Tik Tok's
algorithm to, let's say, favor more pro Israel propaganda.

(17:32):
It doesn't even have to be, you know, pro Israel content in
order for it to be beneficial towhat Israel says is its Geo
strategic goal. I did a piece at Drop Site where
we obtained kind of internal survey and focus group data that
the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs had paid for, trying to
figure out how they could turn Israel's image around.

(17:54):
And their conclusion was when weare compared to basically
anything else, people don't likeus.
But if people compare us to Iranor Hamas specifically, they
prefer us to those two. And also they believe,
particularly in Europe, that there are too many Muslims
running around. So what they need to do is get
people angrier at Muslims. And now you will have TikTok,

(18:17):
CBS News with the ability to go out and just highlight every
crime committed by anybody who even looks like a Muslim
anywhere in the world. Oh, you know what?
That's super interesting. And by the way, so again, Tik
Tok's getting acquired by Oracle, which is Larry Ellison
and then CBS News in Paramount was bought by his son David

(18:41):
Ellison. So if you didn't know that the
Ellison family between father and son is going to control a
huge piece of the United States media in terms of TikTok and CBS
and Paramount, Wow. I wonder what they're going to
do with South Park. Because man, South Park, South

(19:02):
Park is hilarious. Those guys go in so hard on
everything. It's so funny.
OK, Anyway, you know, I do thinkhe also brought up a good point,
you know, in terms of the the abundance of Muslim immigrants
in Europe. You know, I really need to try
to find a guest to speak about that or talk about that a little

(19:23):
more because obviously that definitely is something and I'm
not necessarily going to call ita problem yet because I don't
know enough about the situation to understand if it's a problem.
But there, there definitely is alot of news about that.
And So what that person was talking about, you don't think
about this, think about a 9/11 type event happening in Europe,

(19:46):
which again is being said to be overrun by Muslims.
Now a 911 type event happens somewhere in Europe, maybe in
London, something crazy. And you know, here we go, here
we go again. And it feeds into this entire
cycle. And especially now when you've
got TikTok and CBS, among other news, news entities in the

(20:11):
United States, in the mainstream, you know, being
controlled in One Direction, youknow, who knows man, who knows,
who knows what could happen. So anyway, put that.
Put that in. I don't know, not your bingo
card. I hope it doesn't happen, but
you know, more on that later. We'll have to, we'll have to
dive into that more. And again, that feeds right into

(20:33):
the two big, you know, battles that I think we're going to see.
And that is more left versus right.
You know, more people that are talking about the left and the
right. God, I, I kind of cringe anytime
I hear anybody mention those two, those two things anymore.
And then the second one, which honestly is probably even bigger

(20:57):
than that, is, you know, the whole divide between
Christianity and Islam and between Muslims and Christians.
So anyway, all right, there's that.
We're 21 minutes. Let me see if there's anything
else fun. I want to I want to give you
guys as you go into your lovely weekend.
You know what? This is a good one minute clip
from Tucker Carlson and he finally did release his his

(21:18):
series on 9/11. I haven't watched all of it yet.
I watched the first episode and it definitely was good.
But you know, give this a listenAnd again, it it, it keys on
building 7. You know, building 7 is insane
to me how little people you knowcan.
Well I mean people do question it, but it just like there was

(21:41):
no reason for that building to fall.
Give this a listen. I did building 7 collapse after
just 7 hours of burning in a waythat no steel frame building
anywhere in the world has ever collapsed.
Professor Leroy Halsey of the University of Alaska at
Fairbanks conducted an independent study whose findings
were released in 2020. Professor Halsey found that

(22:02):
office fires of the kind in Building 7 and 911 could not
have produced sufficient thermalexpansion to cause the crucial
girder to fail. It's impossible, he found.
One group of scientists did collect and test 4 samples of
dust and debris collected by a Manhattan resident about 10
minutes after the collapse of the Second World Trade Center
tower. In those samples, the scientists

(22:23):
found distinctive red Gray shipsfull of highly energetic and
thermitic material. In other words, they found
traces of explosive compounds. All right, I'll have to watch
that entire series. I don't know if it's behind a
paywall on tuckercarlson.com or if he does that and then puts it
out on YouTube, but I'll take a look over the weekend.

(22:45):
I'll let you guys know. All right, that's it everybody,
22 minutes. Have a great weekend.
Get out there, get some steps in, watch some college football,
watch some Pro Football. Keep calling a spade a spade.
Call your parents and let me know any additional feedback.
Give the episode with Brandon a listen and then I'll take you
out on something funny. So this is point of view the

(23:07):
first woman on the moon and if you did not listen to the
episode with Bart Sabrel, you should listen to that.
But point of view first woman onthe moon.
Houston, we have a problem. What's the problem?
Nothing. No, seriously, what's the
problem? Nothing.
It's whatever, you don't care anyway.
Brah, that was a great way to end it.
