Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, hello my paranormal peeps, and welcome back to another
Deepoits Panormal podcast. My name is Matt Harvey. I am
the founder and the investigator with Deepoits Paranormal. My wife
and I, along with others, investigate everything paranormal in nature.
Every week we will discuss everything from creepy haunted locations,
to ghosts, to bigfoot, UFOs, dog man and other cryptic
(00:24):
creatures and explore all things paranormal and nature. Hello, my
paranormal peeps, and welcome back to another Deepoits Paranormal podcast.
And I know not only have on my wife Amanda,
I have Anthony. He is the owner of Hold on second.
I'm gonna share my screen with you guys. There we go,
(00:44):
There we go? Yes?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Sure that real? Okay?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
So he is the owner of the haunted Pine Lawn
Manner and Rehab Center. He just recently, I think bought this.
He'll tell you more in just a minute, but he's
very sided because this is a very haunted location and
he's going to tell us about it tonight. So if
they tell us a little bit about the haunted Pine
Law and Manner and Rehab.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Center, uh you know, uh, start all off, I guess. Uh,
you know, I was. I heard about pine law manner
and some of the things that occurred at pinel a
manner as far as like materialization of objects out of nowhere,
and I was like, you know what, I got to
(01:31):
go check this out for myself. So the guy who's
been doing tours out of there, he holds his tours
in October, and I was like, you know what, let
me go just check this out. I'm sure it's a
bunch of bs. That's just my honest thoughts about it,
you know, outside looking in, you know, because I've never
heard that. I've never had that happen or I've never
(01:53):
heard of anybody I discuss of anything like to that extent.
I've objects materializing out of in there and falling or
hit actually hitting people, you know. So I went in.
I went in there on one of the tours and
I was in the reds hallway and Pinelon and I
(02:14):
was the only one in the hallway. And I know
that for one fact, because the tour hasn't even started yet. Uh.
That was prior, that was previous to the tour coming
in that evening. Uh. I was in there with the
guy that was running the tour. But uh, when I
was walking out of Reds Hallway, marble hit my foot
in the back of my foot, and uh, I was like,
(02:38):
there's no way this just happened. There was nobody in
the room, you know, there was nobody in the hallway, nobody,
nobody nowhere near me. I was by myself, and it's
like it blew my mind away. I mean it truly did.
I mean to the point where it was like I
actually had a conversation with the guy you know running
(02:59):
this tour, and I said, I said, if you know
I plan on buying this, you know, I didn't know
this was that real until now. I mean, it happened.
So I said, February, I'm going to go talk to
the guy that owns this property. I'm gonna buy this
bottle or buy this building in February up next year.
And that was in October of the previous year. And
(03:19):
I said, if nobody's bought it by then, I'm going
to buy it. And I went there in February or
the next year and talked to the guy that owned
it and we had to deal struggle within one and
within the same day.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Wow, So what.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Kind of other activities happened on your tour. Besides the marvel.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
That you know anything and everything you could possibly imagine.
I mean this, this is a single hand only one
of the most honored locations I've ever been in, if
not the most honored location I've ever walked in into
my life. The amount of energy that's in this building
is uh pretty to the point where like I created,
(04:06):
like I've created a challenge for Pinelon Minnor, you know,
specifically for Pilon Minner because Pinelon it likes to get
you alone, and when it does, it likes to scare
the crap out of you. I mean, it's as simple
as that.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
What tell us a little bit about the challenge? What
what did you create?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
So I took original restraints from the patients and Pinelon,
and I put it in a wheelchair. And so we
leave somebody in the building alone in the dark, no
cameras running, no lights. There's a two way radio. If
they want to tap out, they can reach us through
the two way you know, the walkie talkies. But they
(04:49):
got to sit in Pinelong strapped into the wheelchair for
fifteen minutes by theirself down the you know, it doesn't
really particularly matter when we put them, but you know
there's well you put them anywhere in anywhere in pylon,
you know.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
And how many people have taken the challenge?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Actually, I'm starting to starting to get quite a bit
of people that say that's taken the challenge and has
declined the challenge.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah they nope.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Yeah, so what it does? It just enhances like pylon. Uh,
as soon as soon as it's dark in there, like
that's when activity this goes rampant. You know. Everybody just
done the challenge has said something about strange light anonomies
(05:42):
that just occur for long periods of time, like for
seven eight minutes at a time, like light anonymous. You
never hear that. That's not coming for me, that's coming
for people that have done the challenge, right, full blown
shadow figures, intelligent responses. So yeah, more than one person
(06:08):
has said that they've had intelligent knocks, like once for
yes and twice for no. They sat there and had
a full blown conversation throughout the fifteen minutes with something
intelligent intelligently responding back to him.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Right, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, how long?
Speaker 3 (06:25):
How old is this building?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Again? Nineteen sixty five? It was first a mote from
nineteen sixty five to nineteen seventy three, and from nineteen
seventy three on it was known as Pinelon Minnor, which
was a mental and physically disabled twenty four hour care
center for mentally and physically disabled for patients from up
(06:49):
north by Chicago, Decatur, and the Champagne area. They all
came from that area and they brought him down here
to Pinelon Minor.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
So didn't have a reputation of being nice to the
patients or was there a lot of deaths in this building?
Speaker 2 (07:08):
So what I'm being told is or roughly around abround
about three thousand people passed away in this building. Wow,
that's uh. And I and we have somebody's writing a
book about Pylon is trying to look up all the
deaths and stuff. It just it's going to take some time.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yeah, that's a lot a lot of information.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, knowing the history of a location really can help
you to get a lot of you know, feedback. Like
we were talking about pre interview. You know, if I
come into your house and I go, hey, what's your name?
How long have you lived here? You know what you know?
And I start asking all these questions. You were like
what the heck are? You get the heck out. But
(07:52):
if I hate them in and say, hey, man, I
know you're you know, you died in blah and you
dive this and you lived here for however long, and
you know it a poor or a reputation, and you
can really start to communicate with those entities. So I'd
be more if somebody knew my name, might be more
open to having a conversation with them, you know what
(08:14):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah. One thing I've really enjoyed about Pylon is the
fact that the spirits that you're talking to or whoever
is that you're speaking with, if you ask them to
do something, chances are you're going to get a response
back to what's the one wanting them to do? I mean,
I surely want to. I feel like they truly want
(08:38):
to try to accomplish whatever you're asking them to do.
I really truly believe that they're really.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Communicating with you. Is it happens on the regular, which
is unusual for our location because as you know, I'm
sure you're an avid ghost hunter and you know we've
been doing this a long time. You don't always get activity.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
About fifty percent of time if you're lucky.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
You do have locations that are like, uh, you do
have locations out there that are like, I don't want
to say, produce more activity, but it's like it's true.
I mean, you're gonna have locations that that you're not
going to get nothing every night. You know, it's not
going to happen. I mean, you're not going to get
paranormal activity every time you go out. That's that's unheard of.
That's not that's false. You guys know that, but you
(09:28):
do have Yeah, but you do have locations that seem
like they every time you go in there that something's
going to happen, especially like I investigate all night long.
I mean you guys you have teams that investigate for
three or four hours, and I don't know how long
you guys havevestigate four But well, we'll start at seven,
we'll start when it gets done, you know, sevent eight
(09:49):
o'clock at night, and we'll go all the way up
until three or four in the morning. Sometimes.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah, we usually spend the night at the location we're at.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Yeah, whether it's sometimes in the book we leave it.
We leave in the morning.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Yeah, we take breaks there, but we we try and
move through each airy and give them an opportunity to
communicate with us.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
And sometimes you need you need to break. You know,
you can't investigate. I don't think nobody can sit there
and investigate for that long period of time constantly. You
need to take breaks.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
And then when you stop and you go lay down
or take a break or take it out, sometimes things
happen and uh, you know, we run DVR cameras, so
it's like, oh my gosh, we caught this. We caught
that while we were sleeping.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Motion was caught. What is it?
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Then you go explore it and you're like, oh, I
got something really cool?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
You guys know, have you guys testified to what I'm
about to tell you, Like when you run cameras and
when you're not running cameras, Like if you went into
a location with our cameras, activity is going to be
uh through the roof, you know, compared to like if
you bring a bunch of cameras in there and try
to catch it out of campail.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
You know, right, a lot of times when you bring
the cameras, outing happens.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Yeah, not really supposed to get caught doing that, I'm
pretty sure. But anyways, so you're doing an event, right,
you're doing some kind of other other venues.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Yeah, so we're just I'm teaming up with other property
owners throughout the Midwest. Here I mentioned her names, uh
Bill Mannor out of Ohio, Monroe House out of Hartford City,
Randolph County firm Ary out of Winchester, Indiana. Then Whispers
of States out of Mitchell, Indiana, and uh we got
(11:34):
uh two more, we got more adding on before March
fifteenth deadline for everybody for people to come and so
basically it's just a massive collaboration between all the locations
and uh yeah, you know, generating people to come in
and and uh, you know investigate all these locations, and
(11:55):
you know, after they reach a certain number of investigations
throughout the road trip, then we're gonna try to We're
going to hold the event for everybody that completes the
road trip in October.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
God, and how long it's the road trip? Like if
we if I was going to sign up for this event,
how long would I have to take off at work?
Like what's that looking like?
Speaker 2 (12:19):
How you get through it? You could do it throughout
the years, so you could hit depending on your locate,
how what's your how far you're traveling and stuff. I mean,
you know, if you're traveling from Texas, you probably need
a week off. I guess.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Okay, Yeah, so you stop at each location and it's
kind of like you get to investigate them and it's
an all inclusive cost.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Or yeah, I can. I can actually get you guys
the I got a buddy mine that helps me out
with all this, and he sent all the the rules
and regulations and everything to out to every owner and
all that good stuff to the email. I can, I
can let you post that on there.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah, because our viewers might want to come out and
do you know the challenge at the.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Manor or you know, visit for sure.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yeah, so I want to be able to link it
down in the comments.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, for sure, I'll get touch you.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yes, yeah, and you just set up his Facebook account.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Right yeah. Yeah, you can go to pinel on a
Mannor and you can check it out on there. We
have all the details and all the regulations up on
the website. Facebook website, and.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
I'm kind of screwing through the pictures. A lot of
these pictures are creepy as hell.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
So what you're seeing there is you got pinelon Manor.
Then right next door to Pinelon mannor you have the
Sumner Care and Rehab Center, which is to the right. Yep,
right there where you're clicking right now, that's uh, that's
the Sumner Care and Rehab Center.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Okay, and you get activities in both buildings.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Right, Uh, yeah, definitely get activity in both buildings. I mean,
I wish I could hit on a lot of like
it's going to take moreultiple podcasts in order to try
to tell you guys quite a bit of stuff that's happened.
Last podcast, I kind of I hit on a few
things at Pinelon, you know, yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Most like unbelievable story.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Just tell us one really good story somebody else.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Well about about Pinelon and or the rehabit center, Like tell.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Us you want my story, is somebody else's story the best?
Tell what stands out to me? Uh, there's two. There's
so many things that stand out to me. But obviously
the marble throwing, it's happened so many times I can't
count it. I mean that that stands out. But I'm
(14:44):
going to tell you a story about go to our
paranormal with Rick. He had an assession with his brother
and his brother's wife and his brother was undrest us
and he said, X Marx brother. He didn't think nothing
about it at the time. He got back to the
motel and saying that that night or hotel, and he
looked at his chest. He took a shirt off, looked
(15:05):
at his chest. He had a digital X. It wasn't
a scratch. It was like somebody printed a next on
his chest.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
That's nuts, insane.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
And I got a picture of that to prove it,
by the.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Way, Oh on your Facebook page.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah, yep, we need to. Yeah, I'm going. I'm going
it's a good idea.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Yeah, in one place with Matt actually where he got
a scratched. So that's what that means that you guys
got some good activity going in there.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
And I was telling you about Rick. You know, he
he had grown up with paranormal. So he's about he's
in his late fifties or sixties or something like that.
So when he was a kid, he couldn't talk about
the paranormal because Hugh told me that they would have
probably uh yeah. So Rick told me that when he
(15:56):
was a kid that he could not discuss anything about
the paranormal because they have thought, uh what what what
was it because of the religion. His mom and dad
was religious, and they just uh, you know, they didn't
they didn't know how to handle it back then, right.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yeah, a lot of people just don't believe, so.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
They would have thought something was not right with him,
or he was he needed to see some seek some
kind of medical help or something.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
They were put into mental institution.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Probably, Yeah, and that's exactly what he said. I just
didn't really know how to word it, I guess without yep.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah, I grew up in that era too. You didn't
say the word ghost or psychic or medium or anything haunted.
You know, my parents, my mom was very Christian and
very Catholic. Excuse me.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
My dad no believer, so he still.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Showed him all the crazy and he's just like, oh.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah, Rick told me one. Rick told me sometime throughout
the night of Pinelon that he said throughout his he's
been doing it since his kids. He's so he's been
doing it for quite some time. He does tours out
of Nashville, Tennessee. He's been doing towards other for twenty
something years. But he said at one time in Pinelon,
(17:17):
he didn't want to walk in Pinelon by himself. He
said that was the first time he's ever Mark too
like scratched from Marks right, that sayds out to me
just because how big the X was on his stomach
area chest area. Another one was the was the group
from Bell Mansion. I mean there's multiple people that sticks out,
(17:38):
but uh, he had brought a woman with him, and
I told the story that the last podcast that you
guys have trouble uploading the podcast, didn't.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
You, Well, we had experience, yeah that you got to
remember this room was paranormally charged a lot.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Here behind me the other way have attachments and sometimes
when you listen back to the podcast and go through
to edit, I get tvps there would be a female
voice on the recording. Were a male voice that has
a German.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Action, recording would just disappear.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
It was just wasn't there when I went to go
check it.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
But we recorded it, you heard, yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
I could see it. I could see where he recorded,
but there was there, There was nothing there.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
She's weird because I never have an Asian, so I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
And Belle Mansion in the group from Bell Mansions stood
out because the guy I had dropped him off to
do the tour during the day, and uh, I said,
I'll be right back because he was expecting somebody from Chicago.
It was a woman that saw practicing be a mortician
out of Chicago, and she lives in the funeral home
and all the stuff in between. But then she wound
(18:52):
up showing up. So I just get you know, I
went head and walking back through. But he when I
came back, he was sitting outside. I said, what's going on?
He goes, I'm not going I can arn til you
came back, or somebody did, because uh, something were rang
up on him, you know. Uh, I guess he got
freaked out.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Person run at him.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Like something physically ran up on him, but nothing was there.
But uh that's they might up standing to plane on
for about four three or four hours, and uh he
called me and said, hey, you want to come and
lock out, lock up. We're leaving just too much for
us tonight. And she's she's freaked out. I guess, like
(19:34):
she said, I can't take the energy inside this building,
like it's creeping me out. I said, you're you're a
mortician in Chicago, right, and this is uh yeah, it
blew me away. Honestly, that's a story just blew me away.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
She people all the.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Time, yeah, and how they passed away over you know,
in the city and everything. She's probably seen like this stuff,
so that that just shocked me. It afforded me back, honestly,
it really did. We had a personal story over the
care Center, which is crossed street from pylon, me and
(20:15):
my wife y'all and her piance and uh we had
seen a full blown shadow of a man walking towards us.
And uh, fun of it was only in the dark,
but you can make out all the features, the legs,
the arms, the head, that boy, you know, everything about
(20:37):
this shadow of a man you can see. But uh, yes,
I'm gonna see the facial features because it's dark. But ah,
it just uh floored us. I mean, you know, first off,
we wasn't expecting anything like that and I've never seen
(20:58):
nothing like that. So it's like threw me back through.
My wife back. She don't get startled at all. I
should walk through the pylon and everything else and other
other her you know, other buildings by herself in the dark.
But it kind of we all seen it and we
(21:18):
know we've seen it, and it's like the thing was
walking towards us within fifteen feet or less, and it
kept walking, and I was like, it's this ain't gonna stop.
I mean, so I just I didn't know really what
to do, how to handle it, you know, because I
was like dumbfounded when I was even witnessing, right, So
I was like stopping the name of Jesus Christ, you
(21:41):
know's the only thing I knew what to say. I mean, seriously,
I didn't know what to do.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
I mean, I was like, yeah, I totally agree with you.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
There, I dissipated, it went away, you know. Yeah, and
I'm not saying that, you know.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, you just never know what you're talking, what you're
dealing with when you get into this stuff. I grew
up with it, She grew up with it. I mean
I've seen I've seen some crazy things. You know, everything
you're talking about, I've experienced. So it's like, yep, yep, yep, yep,
uh yep.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
One other one other incident in the care center that's
blow that takes me back is uh, I was in
the building by myself. We had a little fire. I
remember talking to you the last time about this, but
we I was putting a bob the fire outside and
got a little fire pit outside the care center, and
I was putting the fire out, is the only one
(22:37):
in the building, and out of the room to my left,
out of the kitchen, I heard like a really crazy
grouse on that I've never heard of my life, Like
something was really warning me to get the hell out
of there.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Did you did you get the hell out of there?
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Yeah? I broke I broke the bottom the doors. I
swung it up and so fast I think I cracked
the bottom of the guy glass. Yeah, Yeah, I got
I got the heck out of Dodge exactly.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Yeah. If someone's warning you, I believe it. That's I'm
canning crowl that I'm not saying. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
And those those hospitals, I mean they store all kinds
of energy. Like I said before, you just never know
who you're dealing with or what you're dealing with. You
might think you're dealing with a human and all of
a sudden, it's not a human. They come into those
places sometimes and they try to mess.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
With people when the activity really ramps up. You just
don't know what they're capable of, right an unknown. Yeah,
you know, like you said, you could go ninety percent
of the time and you're you know, you're just barely
hearing knocks and veins and stuff, but like a real
big paranormal experience like you guys have heard.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Right now, do you guys allow or vs and stuff?
You come out and park out in the parking lot.
Is there somewhere we can park an RV or something.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Yeah, there's plenty of space. You can stretch out parking
r v H. You could probably park twenty RV's out
there if you won't really wanted.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
To, Yeah, because we have We have an RV and
we travel to do bigfoot research and stuff like that.
We travel all over Texas, but we wanted the cruise
up there and meets you. We would love to be
able to bring our RV and stay a night or
two at least and hang out with you and investigate.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Hey, you guys, Yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
You want to tell us anything more about your event
coming up? Is there any details I want to share?
Speaker 2 (24:37):
One of a particular besides Hall of Pinelan Mantor in
a Sumner care center, there is an actual first nursing
home here in town, which is in one mile from
Pinelan Manor. It's an old Victorian home. That was served
as the first nursing home. That's included into the road
trip too.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
So how many locations are there in total?
Speaker 2 (25:00):
We know, uh, I have three, five, quite a few twelve,
I think. Wow.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Wow, well cool, well that is that's quite quite an adventure.
That's a nice adventure. This is something cool for you
to do. So check it out on the links.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
You have to just take five though, That's all you
have to. That's all you have to attends five of
them be able to. Uh. And in October, we're gonna
have uh, you know, for whoever completes the challenge or
the road trip. Ah, we're gonna have some things planned
for everybody as far as like giveaways and everything. Cool.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
That's cool.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
It'll be fun.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
And we're working on some teams to come in and uh,
you know for the October event, uh for like mean
greets and you.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Know kind of like a sponsor event.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Or Yeah, we're we have a sponsor, Ghost Unners Equipment
out to say in Augustine, Florida. Yeah, yeah, they sponsored
the event, and we're working on a few others before
the March deadline.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Nice. Yeah, well that'll be fun. So if you guys
would like to go out and do this paranormal event.
I will link his Facebook page below as you told
us before. If you want to get a hold of them,
